For Heart Failure "This was for the isosorbide dinitrate 20 mg tablets. This was the worst pain I ever experienced on this medication. The headaches were so unbearable and debilitating that I had to go to the emergency room. They were so severe my vision became blurry, I had 3 CT scans and an MRI done just to make sure I had intracranial bleeding. They stopped that medication along with hydralazine to bring me back to normal."

For Angina "Unfortunately, I had such severe migraine headaches that lasted all day, at least 24 hours. I tried to take a half while still in bed with migraines. I have a blocked artery that can't be stented and had a bypass in 2019. I had blurred vision and nausea. I honestly don't know what to do."

For Heart Failure "This medication causes me to have pressure and tightness in my head, tightness in my ear, and inflammation. I take it along with hydralazine, and it does not lower my blood pressure enough. A higher dosage increases the bad symptoms."

For Angina "I've been 3 years on 60 mg now and the last few months started to feel very ill. I have frozen shoulder, and after 3 months of acupuncture and chiropractor, it's not getting better. Along with headaches and backache, and a general constant feeling of life being drained out of me. This situation is making me very depressed and feeling hopeless. I did try to cut the pills in half for a week and became so ill and unable to stand I have had to go back on them. I will now try to wean off them in smaller doses as I cannot keep existing like this. The cardiologist had said no way in stopping taking them, he was adamant, then when I said I'd had frozen shoulder for the last few months he was 'oh, you got frozen shoulder, okay stop taking them.' It was ONLY THEN that I looked at side effects and frozen shoulder is or can be one of them... It's been so debilitating. I'm at my wit's end to think this could largely be because of medication... leaves me totally frustrated."

For Heart Failure "I'm not sure completely, but this medicine has felt like it eliminated my chest pain. I had an angina-type feeling one morning from a dead sleep, there were a couple other things too. I was overweight, eating anything and everything at all hours of the night when my symptoms started. Since I've taken this with diet, I love this med. I am wondering though why my voice has gotten raspy?"

For Heart Failure "I am a 78-year-old with heart failure. I have been on this medication for about a month. I experienced a slight headache in the first few days, but it was gone by the end of the first week. It has been effective in relieving my angina. I would recommend it if you don't experience headaches."

For Angina "I've been using the 30 mg ER version for about a week. My symptoms were pain in the shoulder and chest when hiking. The first few days had significant headaches (at least for me, who never gets them) that neither Tylenol nor aspirin could alleviate. Also felt tired and weak. Must say a turnaround from the symptoms occurred on the 5th day, which was yesterday. Tiny, briefly felt headache dissipated with Tylenol. The cool thing is that since 2-3 days ago, no longer any left shoulder (which sometimes radiated to the chest) pain occurs when hiking up a fairly steep incline or two, nor the heavy, labored breathing (though there will always be some of that-I mean I'm 74 and realistic). I hope this will be enduring."

For Angina "The fact that I am communicating this review indicates the performance of the drug, isosorbide mononitrate 30 mg. This review is negative only in the physical properties of the tablets themselves. I have found them to be inconsistent in their ability to be broken at the scored mark. They break apart, leaving only one side usable. Others won't break at all, requiring the use of a utensil or pill breaker. This action is difficult for those of us with limited physical strength. Consistency is better than intermittent. It makes me comfortable with the action of the drug. Thank you for providing this outlet to express the consumers' reviews."

For Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "I have been taking 'Isosorb Mono ER 60 mg' - once in the evening daily - for more than 3 months now. And I do not seem to have any side effects that I could discern. I believe my cardiologist prescribed it (along with [Ranolazine ER, 500, twice daily]) to alleviate angina pectoris (the medical term for chest pain or discomfort due to coronary heart disease) that I began experiencing. I still notice discomfort, but not to the level that I did before starting to take this medicine. Out-of-pocket cost for the two that I buy together is $83 for 90 days."

"I do get a slight headache every morning, nothing dramatic, and it does lower my blood pressure, but I have severe joint pain throughout my body. I am only taking 10 mg once a day and I will have to go to 5 mg to see if that will help or eliminate them."
