For Angina "I was prescribed these tablets - isosorbide 40mg Modified-Release tablets to be taken one each morning. 8-10 hours after taking my first tablet, I had to go to bed with a terrible headache starting at the back of my head, into my neck. The pain spread across my shoulders and into my arms. It felt like severe arthritis, and I couldn't get relief, no matter how I tried. I can't remember ever feeling pain like it and got very little sleep that night. Nothing could persuade me to take another one of these tablets. Dreadful medication."

For Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "I have been on this med for a couple of months and I must say I feel so much better! I have been fortunate in that I never had the headaches as have been reported in the reviews. My doctor just increased the dose to 60 mg which has really helped me with my activity - no more shortness of breath or pain! I have Angina and this med has helped big time! I have my quality of life back!"

For Angina "The headaches caused by this medication are worse than the condition it is supposed to treat. The pain goes on for at least 24 hours. It is debilitating and cannot be treated with Tylenol or cool compresses. Avoid this med at all costs!"

For Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "This was given for angina after by-pass for coronary artery disease. I also have a disease called Raynaud's disease, which causes spasm, pain, and cold hands and feet. When the hands spasm, they are cold, asleep, and very painful. First white, then blue and red with the return of blood flow. You spend your time trying to get the blood flow to return: heat, movement of hands. With isosorbide, I can live without the pain and spasms. Thank you for this medicine."

Isosorbide mononitrate for Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "My mother was prescribed Imdur after heart attack stent placement. She had horrible body aches and felt like her body was crushed, the worst pain of her life, she said. Plus, her feet were on fire and her body was ice cold. She was shivering and couldn't see, so it affected her eyes too."

Isosorbide mononitrate for Angina "I took my first dose at 12:30 pm, went to work, no unusual symptoms. At 12:30 am I woke up with my left foot feeling odd. My big toe was standing straight up toward the ceiling, no pain like a spasm. The only way to get it right was standing on the floor. It happened 3 times. Then 10 minutes later, my neck felt constrictive and my jaw and teeth started hurting. This is an indication for me of a heart attack. I went to the ER, EKG was fine, my troponins were great. I got a massive headache. The pain in my neck and jaw lasted 3 solid hours, no relief until the Tylenol kicked in. I will not be taking this medication anymore."

For Angina "I have been treated since heart attacks and bypass surgery. I also suffer from Raynaud's disease, and before isosorbide, my hands caused so much pain. Turning white, blue, then red. Very painfully if it’s cold, even indoors, I wear gloves. But since isosorbide, my hands stay pretty normal. Love it."

For Angina Pectoris Prophylaxis "This is my second day and second dose. I am experiencing headaches so intense I vomit, lower leg pain, annoyance with about everything, social isolation, no concentration, and paranoia."
