For Birth Control "This birth control is terrible. I've never had acne before in my life, and now after taking this for almost 2 months, I have acne on my entire face, and also on my back. I have also gained 6 pounds, and this pill affects me emotionally very much. Since taking this pill, I now have bad social anxiety and constantly find myself tearing up for no reason at all. I am genuinely a happy person, and this birth control constantly has me feeling anxious or sad. The only positive of this is it has prevented pregnancy like its main purpose. I am now switching to a new brand."

For Birth Control "I have had a shaky experience with this birth control. Positives: no weight gain, anxiety, depression, or pregnancy. Negatives: if I forget to take a pill, I will start to spot and start my period within 8-10 hours of forgetting, and my cycle will be messed up the rest of the month. I also have drastically noticed a decrease in my sex drive. Mood swings and hormonal acne are definitely still there before I start my period. I’ve given this pill 6 months, time to try something new!"

For Birth Control "I was on the Blisovi Fe 1/20 pill to treat PCOS. This pill was awful. The pill made my face break out way more than usual, I had a lot of mood swings, and I was sad a lot. It also gave me horrible cramps. The only good thing about this pill was that it regulated my periods, other than that, it was horrible."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control a week ago, and the first couple of days were good besides the spotting. Now it's the 7th day, and I'm bleeding like it's my regular period when it's not supposed to be. The past 2 days, I have had really bad depression and thoughts. I have depression, but this BC is making it so much worse for me. I also have been noticing acne coming up around my jawline, which I never really got there until now. So I am stopping this BC, I was hesitant in taking it anyway because I have had bad experiences with mood swings on 2 other types as well. BC just isn't for me, I guess."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Blisovi for 6 months and have had a great experience with the birth control so far. Luckily, I don't have any negative symptoms such as acne, depression, or mood swings. Some symptoms I've experienced are shorter periods with less cramping, larger breasts, and about a 5-pound weight gain (which isn't something to view as negative). My only personal thought or advice is to make sure you are treating your body like a queen... so eat healthy, exercise, and don't misuse the birth control."

For Birth Control "Don’t take this. Please don’t get on this BC. For the first few months on it, I was fine, but after two years on it, all I can say is that I'm completely done. Mood swings, extreme anxiety (especially around when my period is supposed to start), depression, and so on. I could go on for hours about the horrible side effects of this BC. I have truly not felt like myself. Aside from the horrible mental effects, I have ZERO sex drive and random cramps and bleeding. Every time I am sexually active, I somehow convince myself that I am pregnant, which is really just from the anxiety this drug has given me. DO NOT TAKE THIS!!"

"I started this birth control, Blisovi Fe 1/20, to control or minimize severe PMS symptoms (pelvic pain, cramping, bladder pain, irregular bleeding, irritability, strong fatigue). Upon starting the pill after switching from another BC, I had brown spotting. This lasted a week and developed into heavier bleeding and clotting, especially at night. I bled for the entire 3 weeks of the pill pack, and it got progressively heavier. Also had bloating, cramping, irritability, terrible anxiety, mood swings, weight gain, fatigue, probably from all the bleeding. I had a full-blown panic attack in a situation where I would have typically been able to regulate my emotions. I stopped taking the pill after pack 1, and the next day I stopped bleeding. This definitely did not work for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for about 4 years now. I was really worried after I had a traumatic experience with Yaz, so my doctor recommended this. It's honestly great, I have had zero side effects (e.g., mood swings, weight gain, acne), and my periods are almost nonexistent. I have found that if I miss a pill, I'll start spotting, and occasionally my periods didn't even happen (which worried me). I give it a 9/10 due to occasional spotting. I will never use a different BC."

For Birth Control "This is my first time ever taking birth control, and my mood swings have been so terrible. I feel bad for anyone around me. I relapsed on cutting, my depression became worse, and this is horrible. I want to switch or not use birth control at all!"

For Birth Control "I tried taking this pill for a few weeks, and I didn’t really notice any side effects right away. As soon as I got my period, I noticed I was having extreme mood swings, which was not normal for me at all. I felt extreme depression from this pill, and as soon as I stopped taking it, I started to feel normal again."

For Birth Control "This was the worst experience with birth control I have ever had. It has made me extremely emotional and depressed. I did notice it myself, but it was made even more clear to me by those around me. Out of nowhere, I’d have panic attacks and even emotional outbursts. I’m emotional, but this was to another level and extreme. I simply just cannot recommend this to anyone, and I regret taking it myself. I will be switching birth controls within this month. One I will recommend is YAZ, it was good, but for someone who is small like myself, maybe not so much because it has water retention."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this because of ovarian cysts (2 cm). Low dosage, by the way. I was prescribed to use it for a 3-month course. First month, everything seemed okay. By the second month, midway, I was having mood swings, very irritable and easily offended, migraines, tachycardia, and insomnia. I’m not sure why I was having those side effects. So I stopped using it, and I was fine. Decided to start the third card and had to stop because all the cyst symptoms came back. So I’m due to see my gyno to let her know that it’s not going to work. Need to try something else. I just endured my heavy bleeding and painful period. May try natural methods, but praying I’m healed from this condition."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on the pill Blisovi Fe 1/20 for about 3 months now, and I really like it! I’m only taking it to avoid pregnancy and have regular periods. It’s the first form of birth control I have ever tried. I have no really bad side effects. It just doesn’t personally help me with cramps. But my period only lasts 2/3 days, and it’s super light! And I’m just more emotional than I was before, but nothing dramatic. I think it’s a great first-time birth control use."

For Birth Control "So I am 23, this is my second birth control. I took Lo Loestrin 1/10 for 3 months, but my insurance doesn’t cover it anymore, so I’m on this now! What I can say is this period I had no cramps! I’m on my first pack of Blisovi, and my skin is great too. I was afraid I would have terrible side effects, but I never did with this one, nor the other I took before this one either! I have noticed, though, that I am very sad lately. I never feel truly happy 100%. Maybe it’s because I just moved out of state as well, recently, without family. I’m not sure, BUT I can say I am very emotional now. I hope it’s just a phase, but if not, I will have to get off of it. I have always been anxious and have some slight anxiety here and there. I don’t think that has gotten worse."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for about 2 months. I got switched to this pill since they didn’t carry Microgestin (what I had been taking for 2 years+) at the drugstore where I get my prescription refilled. Honestly, at first, I didn’t think anything of it. However, as time went by, I did notice I had been getting extremely irritable out of nowhere. Things that usually wouldn’t get me upset irritated me to the extreme. To be honest, sometimes I couldn’t even stand myself, let alone other people. Mood swings = NOT A GOOD BC for me. I'm getting an appointment with my doctor to look at other options ASAP."

For Birth Control "I was very hesitant to take Blisovi 1/20 in the beginning due to all these negative reviews. I was initially on Tri-Sprintec but decided to switch due to the awful side effects (weight gain, low sex drive, emotional instability). I am almost finished with my second pack. During the first month, I was VERY nauseated. I found that by taking this pill at night, it decreased the feeling of nausea. I initially started BC because of acne, so I was scared when I switched to Blisovi. The first month, I did break out more than usual, but during the second pack, my acne lessened and lessened (while maintaining a good acne routine). I still maintain somewhat of a sex drive (more than when I was on Sprintec). I also lost weight while being on this pill (around 10 pounds). My periods are now shorter, which is awesome (around 2-3 days). I no longer have mood swings (I was to the point of crying every day on Sprintec). Every BC works differently for everyone, so maintain positivity and talk to your doctor."

For Birth Control "Works as a pregnancy preventive, but wow, do the side effects suck. Constant pain in ovaries and abdomen, sharp cramps at random times in my cycle, nauseated, bloated, couldn't wear my contacts for a month straight due to eye irritation, chest pains, so, so, so moody and emotional for no reason. I was originally taking Gildess, and my pharmacy switched me in September 2016 to Blisovi Fe 1/20. I was fine in the first couple of months taking it, just nauseous here and there and occasional headaches, it was a good start. Then month 4-5 hit, and side effects got even worse. I would not recommend this pill unless you can deal with the side effects. I experienced every side effect mentioned on the prescription within 6 months on this pill."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!! So I've been taking this pill for about 11 months now to balance my hormones because my periods were extremely painful. Don't get me wrong, this pill works for regulating your cycle, and it also made me quit smoking cigarettes too (can't be upset at that). BUT I've been so irritable, emotional, and I EASILY get angry for no reason at all. My mood swings are terrible. I couldn't put the pieces together until my spouse informed me last night that our marriage has been rocky for the past 9 months and suggested that it might be this pill, and now it all makes sense. I've turned into this emotional lunatic, and I didn't know why. I REPEAT, DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL!"

For Birth Control "Like many others here, I was prescribed Gildess by my doctor and used it for over a year without a single side effect. This past month, I went to pick up a refill and was informed that it had been discontinued and was given Blisovi as a substitute. I have had an absolutely horrible experience. In the past month, I have gained 5 pounds (which is a lot on my 5'1" frame), experienced extreme changes in mood (unpredictable anger/depression), and this past week I've started to experience frequent panic attacks. My vision has deteriorated noticeably, and I have felt periodically dizzy. Do not take this!"

For Birth Control "I was on BC for years and loved the convenience of it. I took a break for a few years, but my cycle became irregular. Hoping the pill would help regulate my cycle, I went on Blisovi. I was traveling a lot and assumed my extreme fatigue was due to my busy travel schedule. But no, it is definitely the pill. I'm constantly tired, have a persistent headache, feel like rundown like I'm about to develop a cold, sinus pressure, irritable mood, achy body. The only pros are clearer skin. I eat less but haven't lost any weight. It's the worst pill I've ever been on."

For Birth Control "Effective? Maybe. But it is everything Hester V. said and more! Do not take this pill! I also had my prescription through CVS, and they switched it on their own-not the doctor-due to insurance, price, etc. Don't do it-it's not worth it! Constant headaches, weight gain, blurred or double vision, major mood swings-every single side effect is true."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for almost 6 months now and hate it! Absolutely lowered my sex drive, and sex was painful because of vaginal dryness. The first three months, I'd have CRAZY mood swings but leveled out, and my breast size definitely increased. It did help with cramps and period pain, but it had such an impact on my sex drive I cannot stand it. Switching soon!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this BC for a little over a year now and have consistently had problems with it and never fully connected the dots until I did more research on the drug. As far as preventing pregnancy, it works great, but aside from that, it wasn't. I didn't gain weight like some people, but it's affected my personality pretty severely. I get so emotional about everything. I cry really easily and I hate being alone. I'm so clingy to my fiancé, so much that whenever I have to go home (we live separately), I cry and cry when I'm at home without him. I get angry fast and I'm constantly irritated. I also get spotting a lot. If I take the pill even a few hours late, I get my period the next day, for like 3 days, even if I continued taking the pills."
