For Birth Control "Horrible, 20 years on birth control, worst pill ever, not requested, just handed to me because my prescription was no longer available. Mood swings, weight gain, and who knows what other side effects I am suffering, stopping it right now."

For Birth Control "Before I started this medication, my periods were extremely painful, and I had severe mood swings. On a pain scale from 1-10, I would say I was at a 10; when I had cramps, I would have to leave school for at least a day or two and was bedridden and had no appetite. Once I started taking these pills, my periods became just a tad bit lighter, yet the pain barely stopped. From a ten, it went to an 8, which left me disappointed. The only upside I saw from this pill was I actually lost weight, yet everything else that came with my PMS remained the same (tender areas on the body, swollen lymph nodes, bloatedness, nausea, etc.). I was on this medication for a year, and my periods became even more irregular."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this after my pharmacy stopped carrying my prior BC, and it has been rough. I’ve taken two different prescriptions since I started taking BC, and I’ve never felt side effects the way I did with Blisovi. Almost immediately, I saw mood swings-getting angry/emotional about EVERYTHING along with days where I couldn’t find anything to be happy about (I do not have depression). When it was time to actually have a period, the flow was worse than I’ve ever experienced, and it came with terrible headaches. I couldn’t handle the idea of even a chance of feeling these side effects another month, so I changed pharmacies and went back to my old prescription. I struggled with everything about this pill, definitely not for me."

For Birth Control "I took Blisovi for six months after taking Aurovela 1/20, a different generic, for a year. I switched to Blisovi because I began getting acne from Aurovela. I did not see an improvement in my acne. In fact, it did continue to get worse at the same rate that it was going on Aurovela. Both Blisovi and Aurovela made me bloated semi-regularly. Around the 5-6 month mark on Blisovi, I began getting mood swings and feelings of insecurity that were anxiety-driven. I also felt this way on Aurovela occasionally."

For Birth Control "I'm worried, seeing that the majority of the reviews are bad. I have been on this pill for about two months and haven't had a good experience, but am also trying to stay hopeful that it will level out as time goes on. I have experienced breakthrough bleeding on every birth control I have tried. This is the third pill I've tried in the past 18 months. The others were Loloestrin and Kurvelo (Levora). I have developed anemia due to how much I have had bleeding issues, and I bleed for about three weeks of the month, and ironically I don't bleed on the placebo week. I am definitely more emotional and have gained 15 lbs, but that is just because the pill has increased my appetite. It doesn't magically make you gain weight. If you are more conscious about it (I haven't been), then you should be fine. My biggest complaints are the never-ending bleeding, mood changes, and bloating."

For Birth Control "I am about two months into starting BC for the first time, and I couldn’t be happier. My periods used to be 4 days of excruciating cramps, hot flashes, and extreme mood swings. I absolutely love this. I have no period now (just some light spotting) around the time I would get my period. I have gained about 5 pounds, but that isn’t an issue for me. My breasts did get larger, but I will take a few negative side effects over my extreme periods. My mood is way better, and I don’t have any pain anymore!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill since I was 15. I’m 18 now. I love the pill. I don’t really have problems with it till it’s my time of the month, around that time I don’t have a period whatsoever. I do cramp and bloat but no period. I will say, however, I am an emotional wreck when it comes to this time of the month. I have severe aggravation, I’m overly emotional, and extremely tired. I wouldn’t recommend this birth control if you get scared about missing a period and freak out about that type of stuff because I’ve had very few periods in the 3 years I’ve been on it, but overall, besides when it’s that time of the month, I’m perfectly fine."

"I have been taking Blisovi for about a year now, and I actually like it. It has helped with many PCOS symptoms. Yes, there are some mood swings, but what pill does not have that? My only fear is that I am pregnant. I've been consistent, but I have this sudden constant swelling. I'm hoping this pill is as effective as they said and it's not true. Thanks."

For Birth Control "Blisovi Fe 1/20 is effective, so I didn’t get pregnant the year I’ve been on this, BUT I was a little scared when I got my period early the third month on it and then never got my period again for the rest of the year taking this pill. My gyno reassured me that this is completely okay, but when it was going on, I felt immense paranoia and anxiety for about two months and was convinced I was pregnant. I feel like some people blame all of their problems on their birth control, so I just want to say it was an okay experience, although I did also go through mood swings about six months in, and we thought I was bi-polar. I never really thought that my birth control contributed to this until my yearly appointment with my gyno, and he told me it was all normal and all side effects."

For Birth Control "My period has been longer and heavier. One time I missed, after that, it’s been a nightmare. No energy, mood swings. Really thinking about switching to something else. Positive side: no cramps, no breakouts."

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi 3 months ago. I had pretty bad mood swings and felt like I was going crazy in the first month. My breasts grew and have been fairly sore since. I no longer have any periods or cramps anymore, though thankfully. My mood swings are gone now, and I’m genuinely happier. In the last three months, my weight has stayed the exact same. I just take a pregnancy test every month just to be sure, as not having a period can make it hard to tell."

"Well, I have been using this birth control for a little over a year now, and it is not for me. I just switched over to the lowest dose about three days ago, still waiting to see major changes. So far, I don’t feel as anxious and nauseous as before, so that’s a plus. This birth control makes me feel super crazy, I have mood swings, hair loss, my skin breaks out every now and then, and my anxiety went through the roof. I’ve always had a background of anxiety/depression, but since I’ve been on this birth control, it was off the charts. Will update on the lower dose soon."

For Birth Control "I have noticed that my periods have become basically nonexistent, which made me worry I was pregnant. After looking at everyone’s experiences, it has made me realize I also have weight gain (10 lb), major mood swings, low libido, and emotional spells for no reason. I have been on this brand of BC for about 4-5 months now, and the only good thing is the light periods and no pregnancy. I am asking my doctor to change brands if possible."

For Birth Control "The only side effect I really experienced on this was a lowered sex drive. When I first started taking it, I experienced mild mood swings, but I don't really anymore. It hasn't given me acne, didn't cause me to gain weight, or anything else negative like that. It's definitely stabilized my period, and has overall been effective. It's also cheap even if you don't have insurance. Definitely better than the three-month pill."

For Birth Control "Really really helps with my period cramps and didn’t really notice any side effects. When I went off of it after being on it for a year I got pretty bad side effects like acne, mood swings, and my cramps came back worse than ever."

"Started taking this birth control about 14 months ago. (I requested Junel Fe, but my pharmacy did not carry it.) Off birth control, I get periods every 10 days! Along with that came extreme mood swings, bouts of energy one week and extremely low energy the next week, anxiety, terrible cystic acne on my chin, extremely high libido, and the annoyance of always being on my period. Since I began taking Blisovi, I haven't had a period at all, and my mood and energy are both stable. The acne calmed down a little, but I almost always have at least one huge cystic zit on my chin (versus having like 4 when I was off birth control-so better, but not great). Libido is a little decreased. Overall, my experience has been pretty good, especially for the price."

For Birth Control "My gynecologist switched me to this medication in order to regulate my heavy cycle. After being on Blisovi for 10 days, I've had the worst experience. I began to get acne again after my old birth control had it under control. My mood swings were terrible. Not to mention while I was at work, my vision left me. I could not make out anything on the computer screen. I thought it might have been my contacts... nope, Blisovi! I went to the eye doctor, and he said everything was okay with my eyes. I told him I'd started a new BC, and he told me that it was my BC. He said the BC relaxed my focus muscle in my eye, which caused my eyes to become to the point where I could not see. Yeah, I definitely will not be taking this EVER!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Aurovela for endometriosis for 2 years now and had a great experience with that, but unfortunately, it has been discontinued. I was given Blisovi instead, and it has been one of the worst birth control experiences I've had. I take it to manage endometriosis pain as well as for birth control, and the side effects have been horrific. I have endometriosis pain, which I haven't had in ages, I'm bloated, an emotional wreck, have sudden acne, and got a yeast infection right after switching. And on top of it, I've been told since it's the same active ingredients as Aurovela that I shouldn't feel this way, which is very invalidating. I really wish Aurovela wasn't being discontinued."

For Birth Control "I started taking Blisovi Fe around 3 months ago. This is the absolute worst birth control I’ve ever been on. The first two months, I didn’t think anything of it. The third month, I finally realized this is what’s been making my mood swings so bad, crying all the time for no reason, so tired 24/7. I never had this issue on any other birth control. It also caused my boobs to grow."

For Birth Control "I started taking Junel Fe for the first three months, which gave me mood swings, and then the pharmacy randomly started giving me Blisovi, which I've had for 9 months. Blisovi gave me less of the mood swings -- which were never a problem before, but I kept getting headaches. I started logging them, and I would nearly get one small one a day, at least. I completely weaned myself off of caffeine too, so I'm sure that's not the issue either. Now I'm back on Junel Fe. Junel Fe made my periods more irregular. I skipped for 90 days and then had a 12-day period...anyway, no headaches, but I'm back to being needlessly sensitive now. I might talk to my doctor and try something else. My insurance only covers them if I get them mailed to my house...so when I needed an early prescription because of a vacation, they charged me out of pocket ($44.00)."

For Birth Control "I was originally prescribed this pill to help with fainting spells on my period, irregular periods, severe cramps, and the impression that I might have had endometriosis. Shortly after starting, about a month in, my mood severely changed. I would get anxious very easily over little things. Within the past month (I haven't even been taking this pill for 2 full months), I have experienced insane emotional breakdowns resulting from either overthinking situations or no trigger at all. Within the past 3 weeks, I have cried nearly every day. Although I have not experienced any pain from my period, it is virtually nonexistent. As for other side effects, this pill, despite popular belief, has NOT changed my skin."
