For Birth Control "I used to be on Loestrin FE and loved it, but the pharmacy switched it to Blisovi, and since I've started taking it, I'm up 15-20 lbs, depending on the day. I work out every day and have a very healthy diet, yet no matter what I do, the weight won't drop. Being someone who struggled with weight naturally, I got to a goal body fat/weight only to have it spike so rapidly is extremely upsetting. Not only is my weight up, but my face breaks out all the time, and my anxiety as of late has been awful. I do not recommend this pill."

For Birth Control "I was started on Gildess 1/20, but then was switched to Blisovi as Gildess was recalled. I always had the clearest skin, and now that I've been taking Blisovi, I'll have random breakouts, and I've gained some weight as well. I do not recommend. I can't wait to talk to my gynecologist to switch ASAP."

For Birth Control "I started out originally on Lo Loestrin FE and switched to Blisovi FE because the first one worked for me for the first few months, but then my period became irregular. I put on 15-20 lbs almost right away, and I thought it was what I was eating, but I hadn't changed my diet at all. Glad to know I am not the only one that this happened to. The irregularity of my period has improved, but I am now getting 2 a month, which is not okay. Would not recommend, and I'm switching ASAP."

For Birth Control "I've experienced exactly what others are commenting on here. I was fine on Junel, then Gildess, then was switched to Blisovi. I've almost finished my 2nd pack and will be switching to Minastrin after talking to my OB/GYN. I'm up 8 lbs since I started, the waist in my pants is extremely tight, breast tenderness, I had a rash on my hip/abdomen for the first few weeks, and I get extremely nauseous in the mornings and evenings. I've also had breakthrough bleeding, but that is probably more my fault - it happens if I forget to take a pill before work and don't get to take it until that evening. Overall, I can't wait to be off of this medication and I hope the new one I try doesn't give me crazy side effects, but you never know until you've tried it."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi 24 FE for my first usage of birth control pills ever. After reading so many of the negative reviews on here, I was extremely nervous and skeptical about starting the pill. But after three months, I'm happy to report I have not had one negative symptom. My period is four days and extremely light and I have little to no cramping. I have not gained any weight, seen an increase in acne, or felt any anxiety or depression as a result of the pill. The only change I am able to report is my boobs have grown and have been slightly tender as a result, but cannot complain. I am overall extremely pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "I started Blisovi a little over a year ago. It was the first BC I had tried, and so far, the only bad side effects I've noticed are weight gain, which was minimal to begin with, and increased headaches. I was previously experiencing depression and anxiety, and I have not noticed an increase in that. Honestly, it's not a bad medication for its intended purpose. It has definitely helped with preventing pregnancy and stabilizing my periods. I read a lot of the bad reviews, and I think the problems are just specific to the individual people."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill a month ago to prevent pregnancy. I normally take breaks from BC pills because I have random physical side effects. My go-to BC pill has always been Microgestin, and it has always worked just fine other than the normal weight gain side effect. My friends and family noticed a significant change in my behavior. My thoughts are erratic, but my mood is consistently low. I overthink everything and cannot sleep, which leaves me fatigued all day. I’ve been working out and staying fit and healthy, but yet I’m gaining weight despite the hours in the gym. My mind and body need a break! I do not recommend this pill. I was doing so good before I started this BC. Worst month ever, and I’m not starting a new pack."

For Birth Control "This birth control has made me lose control of myself. I don't feel like the same person I was before taking this pill two months ago. I have gained weight, had intense breast and lower abdominal pain, and my anxiety and depression have completely worsened. The only good thing is that my once 8-day periods are now only 4-5 days... but really, this OC sucks."

For Birth Control "I have been on Blisovi for almost 4 months now. I have tried probably at least 5 different birth controls (within the last 10 years), so I am very aware of the side effects that come with each one. I was scared to switch from Junel because I loved it and it gave me no side effects, but my periods have always been 8-10 days long. Not full-blown, but they take forever to finish. My doctor recommended we try this one. I don't think this BC is bad, but I did have a full 2 1/2 weeks where I was full-blown bleeding (not my period and not spotting), which was annoying, and I started to realize I have gained a lot of weight. Probably at least 10 pounds, which sucks because I have been working so hard to keep the weight I had lost off. I think it is impossible to get the extra weight off while I am on this one, so I will be switching to a new one. Other than those two side effects, I did not experience anything crazy like I did with Microgestin (WORST BC EVER-MADE ME CRAZY DEPRESSED AND SUICIDAL)."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a while now, my pharmacy switched me from Junel Fe, and I genuinely thought everything happening to me was my own fault and that something was wrong with me. I started taking birth control for ovarian cysts and mild endometriosis. After doing tons of research, I’ve been finding that the crazy amount of hair loss, weight gain (I went from 120 to 130 in a short period), and cystic acne on my jawline and back is all from this pill. I’ve been so down and out from the way this pill has made me look and feel. Not to mention the back pain, anxiety, depression, low libido, and general lack of interest in my normal hobbies. I’m quitting immediately."

For Birth Control "I took this medication for acne purposes. I used to take the same brand but with a lower hormone level, and after six months, I was getting two-week-long periods while taking the pills (as in not in my placebo pill week), so my doctor upped my hormone level. From the moment I started it, I immediately broke out in the worst, incurable acne I’ve ever had. I have gone to the dermatologist to fix it, and I have only been on medications that dry out my skin but leave me with the same acne. I also gain an immense amount of weight that, no matter how much of a healthy diet or exercise I’m on, I can’t seem to shed. I am planning on switching birth controls ASAP."

For Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. It's horrible, and I got bad side effects from it. Lots of rapid weight gain after about a month of using it. I gained 10 pounds in one month, and I have lost my appetite. I also had lethargy, and I'm always tired. I also missed my period altogether last month, and I am stressed out about potential pregnancy. Do yourself a favor, and avoid this pill altogether."

For Birth Control "This birth control sucks! I've been taking this for several months now, and I have gained 40 lbs. I have been eating healthy and exercising, and I have not lost not one pound. This will make your mood swings go insane. Horrible, horrible."

For Birth Control "I am torn about this particular pill because, in some ways, it has really helped me. I have insomnia pretty bad and, at times, I just didn't feel tired and would pull all-nighters due to sleep onset insomnia. This pill helps me feel tired, which is what I really needed. I have been sleeping really well. Another pro is that my periods are very light, short, and predictable. The biggest problem, however, is the weight gain! I gained 10 lbs that I cannot seem to lose, despite counting every calorie that I eat and working out to the point of nearly killing myself. I get on the scale, and the damn thing doesn't budge. Also, sex drive is almost gone. Acne flares up still. I'm not thrilled with this pill and will be switching."

For Birth Control "Gained about 10 pounds taking this birth control, and I have never gained weight in my life. It helped with my periods, which is why I switched to it, but made me break out more. Also, I took one pill about six hours too late and got pregnant. Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I have been taking birth control for over two years now, a year ago, I had to start taking Blisovi Fe 1/20 because the BC I was on was discontinued. I went to the doctor for my yearly checkup and had gained 10 pounds in a year. I am always bloated. Probably 28 out of the 30/31 days of the month. I have never had problems with my weight and always weighed about 120 lbs. It wasn't until I started taking this that I had problems, and I work out almost every day, never eat fast food, and I've even cut out soda for six months now to see if I have a difference. But nope, I just keep gaining weight. Praying that the new BC I was given helps me get back to normal. I HATE this BC, and I wish I would have read the reviews a lot sooner."

For Birth Control "I was initially prescribed Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. After 2 months of heavy breakthrough bleeding, my doctor changed me to Blisovi Fe 1.5. I've now been on Blisovi for 4 months. The only positive I can say is that it stopped the bleeding. My top 3 complaints are: anxiety, acne, and weight gain. I am constantly on edge and jump at everything. Every month, when I start Week 3, my face gets extremely dry overnight and peels as if I have a sunburn, then cystic acne comes in full force. I've never had an issue with acne in my entire life! I've also gained 10 pounds with zero diet change. My doctor asked me to give it a few months, and as of this morning, he agreed to change me to Yaz. If you are researching and are on the fence, DON'T TAKE BLISOVI!"

For Birth Control "I have been taking this Blisovi 24 Fe pill for around 8 months now, and before this, I was around 115 pounds. Since then, I have gained over 20 pounds and am around 137 now. I cannot fit in a lot of my clothes anymore and have always had a fast metabolism, but this is the most weight I have gained in my whole life in such a short time. I got on it to try and help with my periods and, of course, not get pregnant. At first, it kind of helped make my periods lighter, but recently I was on my period for almost 2 weeks, and it was heavy every day. I had severe cramping, and no painkillers really helped me. I have since stopped this pill for about a week now to try and get back to how I was before and have lost like 3 pounds already. I DO NOT recommend this pill unless maybe you are really underweight, maybe. But still, the side effects are awful."

For Birth Control "Okay, ladies, do NOT use this birth control. I’m currently still on Blisovi 24 Fe, and I hate it!! It has made me depressed, break out, gain weight, have an irregular period, and have an extremely low sex drive. The only upside is that it has made my periods shorter. I began this birth control because my cramps were horrible, and my periods were heavy and lasted 8 days, it hasn’t helped with anything besides shortening it. I had a 3-day period a few days ago, and I’ve been off for a couple days now, and I’m already cramping again!!! There are so many better options."

For Birth Control "My daughter is 15 and has very heavy periods. Her doctor recommended this pill to help. It has been a complete nightmare! And it's only been 6 weeks. She has had some GI issues in the past, so we thought the issues were due to that. However, within the first month (close to her period), she was in severe pain: lower abdominal with back, shoulder, leg pains with tingling, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, 4 lb weight gain (and she's very active), bloated, loss of appetite, acne around her mouth and chin, and then all of a sudden the extreme depression and anxiety. Due to her previous issues, we didn't equate it to the pill. We've been to hospitals, specialists, and not once did anyone say anything about the birth control she was on. After reading the reviews of Blisovi, it all made sense. We are taking her off of this starting today. This is a very dangerous drug!"

For Birth Control "This was my first experience on birth control. The only pro to this was having lighter periods. However, I didn't get a period for 3 of the five months I was taking this medication. I gained about 10+ pounds, became extremely depressed, and my skin continued to break out. I just stopped taking it and can't wait to return to my normal self."

"The only reason that I gave it a 1 is because you cannot give it a 0. I do not recommend this BC. After 3 days of taking the medication, I experienced cramping and an increase in body temperature. It resolved a week in. However, I gained a total of 15 lbs over a two-month span due to this medication. I run 3 miles every day and do a total body workout 3x a week, and my weight still increased, and no matter what workout I did, it would not go away. In addition, I experienced high anxiety and a depressed mood to the point that my family started to notice and expressed concerns. I thought that maybe it was due to a high level of stress in my work life; however, I am a normally healthy and happy 24-year-old, and something was not right. Also, my breasts became so tender to the point that it hurt to sleep on my side, and I experienced hot flashes throughout the day and at night. This medicine is TERRIBLE, and DO NOT TAKE IT."

For Birth Control "Just started taking this 3 months ago after being taken off Norg-fe due to a few cases of spotting and 2 cases of 3-week-long periods, and let's just say I'd rather have the periods back again. I haven't had my period since I started Blisovi, but every now and then I still get the killer cramps. It also caused me to gain about 5 pounds along with some severe acne or breakouts on my arms, shoulders, back, and even legs. Do not recommend at all."

For Birth Control "I would NOT recommend Blisovi Fe to ANYONE. The only reason that I switched to this pill to begin with is because my insurance company stopped covering name brands. The first few months I thought the weight gain and mood swings were just side effects of having a baby earlier, and that they would subside after the first few months. Boy, was I wrong. I gained almost 40 lbs in 6 months, my depression and anxiety have both skyrocketed, and it’s come to the point that I can’t even take care of my son to my best ability because I get such terrible back pain and headaches. Not to mention that breakthrough bleeding has become a “normal” and frequent occurrence from month to month. Despite the fact that it’s managed to prevent pregnancy and somewhat regulate my period, I cannot wait to get to my doctor and get off this pill. If you are considering Blisovi Fe as a contraceptive, start considering otherwise. Do NOT take this birth control, it will ruin your life."

For Birth Control "So I started taking this BC when Gildess got discontinued. Up until that point, I had absolutely no problems for the almost 2 years I was taking Gildess. After switching to Blisovi, though, I've had slightly more cramping, tender breasts, and gained about 15 pounds. I've been the same weight for 5 years, and all of a sudden, I've gained all this weight. I'm just now connecting it to the BC after reading reviews of the same thing happening to others. My periods are very light and last no more than 3 days. Overall, not happy with this BC."
