For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for a while now, my pharmacy switched me from Junel Fe, and I genuinely thought everything happening to me was my own fault and that something was wrong with me. I started taking birth control for ovarian cysts and mild endometriosis. After doing tons of research, I’ve been finding that the crazy amount of hair loss, weight gain (I went from 120 to 130 in a short period), and cystic acne on my jawline and back is all from this pill. I’ve been so down and out from the way this pill has made me look and feel. Not to mention the back pain, anxiety, depression, low libido, and general lack of interest in my normal hobbies. I’m quitting immediately."

For Birth Control "I have just started my 4th month of this brand of birth control. I started it particularly for my heavy and extremely painful periods. The very first month on it, I had NO period at all, which freaked me out. I am 24 and have never missed a period in 8 years. Second month I had my period, but extremely light and short, I almost couldn’t count it as a period. Third month a normal period came right on time after the 3rd week as scheduled. It has cleared up my face immensely since I began it, and I have not noticed any weight gain at all. However, as I just started my 4th month on it, I have noticed a very deep “sadness” or “depression,” which is not like me at all! I cry over simple things and generally just feel down. Hoping this goes away, otherwise, the pill works just as it should."

For Birth Control "DON’T DO IT. I read the reviews here, and I thought, well, everybody is different, so I started taking it. I started spotting a week into it and cramping. Not only that, but I went CRAZY. I was mad all the time for no reason, and I would snap for everything. I started randomly getting sad to the point that I was depressed. I wasn’t myself. Don’t do it. Don’t be like me a month later regretting not listening to these reviews."

For Birth Control "Overall, it does what it's meant to do, but this birth control is honestly making me so depressed. Perhaps this certain brand needs a different formula. I thought I was depressed before, but this is just pushing me over the edge here. I've had two very severe panic attacks over the silliest things ever. These took place in one month, two weeks apart. I'm going to stop taking this birth control, hopefully I'll feel better in the end. I'll be looking into switching. I started taking this birth control to help my super irregular period. Hopefully, this gives you insight."

For Birth Control "I am currently on month 4. Pros: no period, no weight gain. Con: back acne (never had acne in my life), anxiety and depression (never really had either), and I am always tired! I know I have been going to bed at like 8:30! Wake up tired, tired throughout the day. UGH. I am done with this."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Blisovi 24 FE for my first usage of birth control pills ever. After reading so many of the negative reviews on here, I was extremely nervous and skeptical about starting the pill. But after three months, I'm happy to report I have not had one negative symptom. My period is four days and extremely light and I have little to no cramping. I have not gained any weight, seen an increase in acne, or felt any anxiety or depression as a result of the pill. The only change I am able to report is my boobs have grown and have been slightly tender as a result, but cannot complain. I am overall extremely pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Blisovi after my other generic was discontinued. I was on it for two months before realizing that it was almost certainly the cause of the severe anxiety, depression, and mood swings I'd been having for two months. There were days I couldn't function because my anxiety had gotten so high, and nothing was actually going on for me to be anxious about. I finally realized that it started pretty much right when my BC got switched, so I'm going off of it now. I have never felt so miserable in my life."

For Birth Control "Okay, ladies, do NOT use this birth control. I’m currently still on Blisovi 24 Fe, and I hate it!! It has made me depressed, break out, gain weight, have an irregular period, and have an extremely low sex drive. The only upside is that it has made my periods shorter. I began this birth control because my cramps were horrible, and my periods were heavy and lasted 8 days, it hasn’t helped with anything besides shortening it. I had a 3-day period a few days ago, and I’ve been off for a couple days now, and I’m already cramping again!!! There are so many better options."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill because I had irregular periods and was really tired and thought it was going to help me. After the third day of taking it, I started having nausea, vomiting, and headache. Then I started having very bad mood swings to the point that I would get mad at every single person around me. It gave me anxiety, depression, and every bad side effect you can think of. I will never take this pill again."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control since May 2021, and I have no complaints about it. I used to have bad cramps and heavy bleeding, but now all that pain has gone away. I feel like everyone's body is different. I was on Depo, Loestrin Fe, and Beyaz, they all were horrible. I hated it so much that I was depressed, sad, and angry. It made me feel not like myself. This birth control is great, but I want to take a break soon from birth control in general because I want to give my body a break. But I haven’t gained extreme weight, my face is clear as ever, and it works perfectly for my body. I highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I read so many negative reviews about this birth control, and I was terrified to start it as a result. The first month was pretty hard. The side effects varied by day. I started feeling them after 5 days of starting, and I became a bit depressed for 2 or 3 days after that. I had a bit of depressive fluctuations (like one-hour intervals) for about a week afterwards, and then they stopped completely. After that, I had a bit of a grace period before experiencing unexplainable anxiety. That lasted for about a week, and I was EXTREMELY tempted to stop this medication at this point. A lot of my friends/family had told me to finish the first month's worth and then decide. I am very glad that I decided to stick it out. Every one of my side effects went away right at the end of my first month. My periods are so much better (lighter, easier). Yes, the first month is very hard. However, the side effects are temporary. It does just come down to how long your body takes to adjust."

For Birth Control "My daughter is 15 and has very heavy periods. Her doctor recommended this pill to help. It has been a complete nightmare! And it's only been 6 weeks. She has had some GI issues in the past, so we thought the issues were due to that. However, within the first month (close to her period), she was in severe pain: lower abdominal with back, shoulder, leg pains with tingling, headaches, dizziness, vomiting, 4 lb weight gain (and she's very active), bloated, loss of appetite, acne around her mouth and chin, and then all of a sudden the extreme depression and anxiety. Due to her previous issues, we didn't equate it to the pill. We've been to hospitals, specialists, and not once did anyone say anything about the birth control she was on. After reading the reviews of Blisovi, it all made sense. We are taking her off of this starting today. This is a very dangerous drug!"

For Birth Control "This was my first experience on birth control. The only pro to this was having lighter periods. However, I didn't get a period for 3 of the five months I was taking this medication. I gained about 10+ pounds, became extremely depressed, and my skin continued to break out. I just stopped taking it and can't wait to return to my normal self."

For Birth Control "As a teen, I never had acne or cramps, and once I became sexually active, I started taking a different birth control for obvious reasons. After 2 years with no problems, I went off it because I started getting acne. It was only after I stopped taking it that my skin became terrible. I'm talking a full chinstrap of god-awful acne for months. I then went on Lomedia/Blisovi, and it slowly but surely cleared my skin up. However, Lomedia/Blisovi completely stopped my periods. Won't complain about that, but it did result in very heavy, thick, constant discharge. I think it also affected my mood. Not sure if it was life or the pill, but I became anxious, moody, and depressed. Never gained weight or had cramps, but I'm scared to go off it for acne's sake."

"The only reason that I gave it a 1 is because you cannot give it a 0. I do not recommend this BC. After 3 days of taking the medication, I experienced cramping and an increase in body temperature. It resolved a week in. However, I gained a total of 15 lbs over a two-month span due to this medication. I run 3 miles every day and do a total body workout 3x a week, and my weight still increased, and no matter what workout I did, it would not go away. In addition, I experienced high anxiety and a depressed mood to the point that my family started to notice and expressed concerns. I thought that maybe it was due to a high level of stress in my work life; however, I am a normally healthy and happy 24-year-old, and something was not right. Also, my breasts became so tender to the point that it hurt to sleep on my side, and I experienced hot flashes throughout the day and at night. This medicine is TERRIBLE, and DO NOT TAKE IT."

For Birth Control "I got put on this after Lo Loestrin. The low dose birth control did not regulate my cycle at all. This birth control did its job for me, I didn’t get pregnant, and my cycles were normal and very light. But after the one-year mark, things got crazy. I became extremely anxious and depressed and entered a really dark place in my mind. I was always crying and overwhelmed and couldn’t figure out why until I stopped taking this birth control, and even then it took a few months to be back to myself!"

For Birth Control "I would NOT recommend Blisovi Fe to ANYONE. The only reason that I switched to this pill to begin with is because my insurance company stopped covering name brands. The first few months I thought the weight gain and mood swings were just side effects of having a baby earlier, and that they would subside after the first few months. Boy, was I wrong. I gained almost 40 lbs in 6 months, my depression and anxiety have both skyrocketed, and it’s come to the point that I can’t even take care of my son to my best ability because I get such terrible back pain and headaches. Not to mention that breakthrough bleeding has become a “normal” and frequent occurrence from month to month. Despite the fact that it’s managed to prevent pregnancy and somewhat regulate my period, I cannot wait to get to my doctor and get off this pill. If you are considering Blisovi Fe as a contraceptive, start considering otherwise. Do NOT take this birth control, it will ruin your life."

For Birth Control "This birth control was horrible for me. My GYN prescribed it for painful periods due to ovarian cysts and endometriosis. The first few days, I was plagued by headaches and nausea. Once that resolved, my mood took a swan dive, and I became depressed and would cry over anything remotely upsetting. Then, by the end of the second week, I started having breakthrough bleeding, and that continued for five days. By day five, I decided to take myself off the medication. Once I did that, I was greeted with a terrible migraine. I'd rather suffer through painful periods than deal with any of this."

For Birth Control "To start off, I have been on this birth control for a little over a year. I have felt absolutely amazing on it until recently, a few months back, I started having incredible anxiety, heart palpitations, and lack of motivation, etc. Out of nowhere. Even to this day, I still feel like I'm in a constant state of panic and worry. I mean, to the point where it has affected literally everything in my daily life. I have always had anxiety, but NEVER like this. I also have Hashimoto's, and I thought maybe it was my thyroid medication that had caused me to feel this way. Test after test, and more blood work, but nothing showed up. I have been so caught up thinking about my thyroid medication that I completely forgot about it potentially being my BC. After reading the reviews, I realized that this may be the case. I had visited my Ob-Gyn prior to reading these reviews, and my plan is to take a 'pill holiday' off of birth control pills for 2-3 months, then see how I feel. Hope this helps!"

For Birth Control "Look, you guys. I started taking this pill about 4 months ago and thought it was great. 1st week I felt fine, however, by the 3rd week I was feeling overwhelmed managing things I had been fine with before. I thought I had too much on my plate and considered counseling. I started with severe depression (which isn’t like me at all) and dark thoughts, which scared me. I still associated everything with biting off more than I could chew with working full time and school full time. I took this pill for almost 4 months, and the mood swings were out of control. My husband couldn’t recognize me anymore, I didn’t recognize myself. Guys, it’s been one week since I’ve been off this pill, and it’s like everything I felt is completely gone. It’s incredible what a little pill can do to your body. I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. If I could rate this a 0, I would!"

For Birth Control "This was my first ever birth control experience, and although it worked fairly well for the first month concerning period regulation, I had major breakthrough bleeding on my second pack that resembled a heavy, two-week-long period on my active pills. My endocrinologist hadn't asked me about my history with mental illness before she prescribed me this medication, and unfortunately, the pill magnified my severe depression progressively throughout my three packs. Because of it, I am more emotionally fragile and cry very easily. My anxiety has been heightened to a point where I can't go outside at the risk of panicking, and I'm constantly very jittery/shaky. I would not recommend this product for women experiencing any sort of depression or anxiety."

For Birth Control "Please, please, PLEASE do not take this birth control! I'm 19 years old and started taking birth control to regulate my period. I had been on Blisovi for a week and felt like I was on a euphoric high, but about 3 weeks later, I began to feel like I was at the lowest I've ever been. I've been very fortunate to not have many issues with mental health in the past, so this was strange to happen out of nowhere. I continued to feel the most empty and depressed I've ever felt for about another month until I contacted my OBGYN to switch my birth control. I switched over to a lower dose of birth control, Lo Loestrin Fe, which I haven't even been on for even a week, and I'm already starting to feel like myself again. I'm not sure if the Lo Loestrin will have any negative side effects in the future, but I can still tell you to NOT take Blisovi. It's not worth the depression."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 8 months, and I am not satisfied at all. Ever since I started taking this, I have been getting bad acne along my jawline, and I have become depressed to the point where I had to start taking medication for that too. I haven't noticed any changes in weight; I work out almost every day, and I maintain a healthy diet. I am 19 years old, and I have no sex drive, and I blame this medication for it. I am in a long-term relationship, and the only thing it has done good for me is prevent pregnancy. I hate this pill, and I honestly believe that it has aided in causing the issues in my life. I gave it way more than 2-3 months to settle in, and I am not happy. I do not recommend this pill to anyone. Stay away."
