Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I had to rob the bank to pay for it. My fasting stick numbers are relatively stable but way above target. They became high after my first COVID 19 vaccine last March. My Dr. Increased my dosage of Glimepiride from 1 to 4 mg first, then added this in January. I experience both bowel & bladder incontinence due to chronic degenerative osteoarthritis that generates untreatable pain. I use to be functional. Then, the CDC reclassified Hydrocodone to a type 2 narcotic. And left me and millions of others to suffer. Most people who take this pain reliever never become addicts. Just become non- working disabled."

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Been on this med for a little over two months. Packed back on weight I lost on Buydureon. Not sure about A1c. The doctor hasn't tested A1c since I started this med. I got a savings card that reduced this med to $30 a month. I can't afford any of the other newer diabetes meds in the hundreds of dollars, so I am stuck taking this. I always get bounced off of these newer meds when the savings cards run out. I am grateful for the time I do get to take the meds due to the savings cards though. I had pretty severe itching for the first month but that has subsided dramatically. Thankfully I haven't had any yeast infections, but I have also been taking standardized cranberry pills. I can say I am much less tired on this med than I was on a couple of the other newer meds."

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "This medication worked immediately lowering my Blood Glucose. I was only on it for about 1 week (free samples from Physician). Then the Pharmacy called and said my Excellent insurance doesn't cover it. Out of pocket cost $430/ 30 day supply - No Can Do ! Switched to Invocana instead. Farxiga apparently works with no side effects (I'm a guy), but no insurance coverage for drug."

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I was perfectly happy on Invokana, then my insurance stopped covering it and my Dr put me on Farxiga to try. oh my gosh, thought I would die, it did not work on me at all. It gave me a yeast infection the first day, sugar stayed high for hours after meals, could barely pee, it made my heart race, and i felt horrible, horrible, horrible. So now I have to try Jardiance, I cant imagine it being worse than Farxiga, I sure hope I am able to pee with this medication."

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Farxiga is effective. It has helped my numbers and lost approx. 10 lbs over a year. The only problem is the excessive thirst and frequent urination. I work and travel a lot so this really impacts my quality of life. I would recommend this medication for someone who stays home most of the time not for someone on the go. I will ask my dr to change my med at my next appt."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Fabulous weight loss. I am now lighter than I have been in 20 years by losing 18lb. No diet was working for me before taking these tablets which helped a lot. I didn't even know that they were used for weight so it was a lovely surprise. It took 6 months so it wasn't overnight but my whole thought process of food changed somehow. The only downside is the thrush which I have never suffered from before."

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "Started this medication 10 days ago. I have been taking two standardized cranberry pills a day since I started Farxiga. "Knock on Wood" I don't have a yeast infection. I do have some itching on my hip area and upper back area since taking this medication. Not sure what that is about. I am thirsty often, but I have been trying to drink a lot of water. Hoping his medication works well for me. I just came off Bydureon and it helped me to lose 25 lbs. Hoping for a miracle weight loss from this medication. :)"

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction "Have been prescribed Farxiga for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction. I am already on Lasix, my cardiologist doubled the Lasix and added Farxiga. I don’t have type 2 diabetes, my glucose is normal so I am hoping the negative side effects won’t be so bad."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I took my first pill at 8am Sunday and within two hrs started feeling extremely cold from inside to outside, my hands were ice cold and I felt really quite unwell, started eating sweet stuff to bring up sugar levels and then I felt nausea then dizziness and started getting stomach cramps and pain in my joints and the need to constantly urinate. This went on for hours and then I started feeling so tired that I could barely keep myself awake, so went to bed hoping to feel better next day. Didn't feel like myself at all next day or for a few days actually, still so tired I couldn't keep myself awake, my whole body was aching, didn't feel as cold but still felt chilled and nauseous and not myself... I NEVER in a million years would've believed that taking just ONE pill could've affected me so badly"

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I was previously on farxiga 10mg for 1 year. I had extreme thirstiness, urgency when urinating, and finally genital swelling. I discontinued due to this 3 weeks ago and the swelling persist. It worked at first to keep my AIC in check but soon I started having an increase in appetite picking up 5lbs. My fasting started to increase because I was doing late nite snacking. I was on Metformin XR 2000 before they did the recall, which worked well for me. I am now back on Metformin 1500 and have not had any of the side effects except insomnia if I take it after 7pm"

Farxiga (dapagliflozin) for Diabetes, Type 2 "I started out taking Trulicity once a week with Trajenta once a day. Loved my low A1c which came down to 5.8 without much work on my part. However, I developed gastroparesis. Although Trulicity is awesome with once a week injection (not insulin), the symptoms with gastroparesis were just too much. Anyway my endo put me on Xigduo (Farxiga 5 mg / 1000 mg metformin combo) in July 2020. My A1c started creeping up to 6.8. I wasn't happy with that so she added another 5 mg of Farxiga to be taken with Xigduo. I have been doing great. A1c is down to 6.0 and I've lost 20 pounds since January 2021 without really any work on my part. Believe me I am not the perfect diabetic either. I have always drank tons of water so peeing all the time has always been part of my life. Plus I have no more gastroparesis symptoms."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "My husband started taking this medication Jan 2018. All appeared well at first, he lost some weight which the GP said would happen and has suffered slight yeast infection. However he is now experiencing severe muscle aches and says it’s like having flu. Has trouble getting out of bed always worse first thing in the morning and at night, wears off slightly during the day, he says he feels like a cripple. This has only happened since he has been on this drug and he is really struggling the GP has taken him off it after are protests is currently waiting to see the Diabetic Nurse. I wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience and if so how long it took until you felt better. Would not recommend this drug to anyone also his BG has increased."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Concerning Hair Loss Since Taking Farxiga: I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes Jan 2020 with an A1C of 13.5. My doctor started me on Farxiga 5mg every morning and Ozempic .25 sub q once a week. Over the last 4 weeks or so I’ve had a concerning amount of hair loss which prompted a telehealth appointment with my doctor 10 days ago, he “thinks” it may be stress related as I work in a hospital ER and with Covid-19 the atmosphere is stressful. I voiced my concerns about the Farxiga and Ozempic RX’s since they are the only new medications I’ve started; he said he didn’t see that as a reported concern however he suggested I stop taking the Farxiga for a week or so to see if there’s improvement; 10 days later, I’m not seeing any improvement however I’m going to give it a few more weeks now that I’ve read here that others have had hair loss as well. I want to give it time to get out of my system and see if it’s any better."

Then Forxiga gave perfect blood sugar 5.6 quite constant, taken with 2 x 40mg Gliclazide. I never felt so good in my life. To prevent thrush (Male) i was penis after every pee with plain water in a mug. The first box Forxiga were made in UK by Astra/zeneca in a white box & little display info on it, they were brilliant, then i went to collect 2 boxes from chemist and was given Forxiga dapagliflozinum 10mg Astra/Zeneca made in Malta ! and the effect totally different, i started feeling sick & after 3 weeks razor sore throat so stopped taking."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "So daughter is 25yrs old with Down Syndrome. A few weeks after her 2nd covid vaccine her sugar levels went from being normal to the high 20’s. GP put her on dapagliflozin but the following day she was peeing blood!!! Got a urine sample to the GP and they said there was blood and infection in it so have sent it away for further testing. 3 days later daughter developed thrush and cystitis. In an awful state and in a lot of pain!!! I told the GP initially that I didn’t want my daughter on this tablet because of the side effects but he insisted!!! Now I’ve had a week of her being really poorly and it’s messed up her kidneys so she’s on 2 different antibiotics and fluconazole for thrush!!! I have no faith in GP prescribing for diabetes especially in our surgery. My daughter is special needs and has lots of other medical conditions and even the local 2 pharmacists are useless!!!!!!!"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "I have been on this for over a year now. Up until two weeks ago it kept my bloods pretty good and I didn't have to be terribly strict. I stopped surfing and doing muay thai (Thai boxing) two weeks ago due to an injury and not sure if it is the lack of exercise or if it has stopped working but eating things that normally would have kept me normal, are now spiking me and I have gotten up to 18 at times, which scared me (albeit they go down into range within 30 minutes or so). I must admit no other side effects other than thrush, which is annoying, but worth it as I also drop weight super easy and lost a considerable amount and it stays down. Hoping to go for a light jog tonight and so hopefully that will sort my recent spikes out"

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Took about 9 months but stopped today as I feel it was giving me really bad side effects. It did help drop my Hba1c from 115 down to 89 - UK chart (still high I know). At first my wrists started to hurt, that subsided but now I have quite bad confusion, weird woozy head pressure/headaches dry eyes and muscle weakness in calves and left arm. It made me pee a lot and I suspect I was also losing electrolytes. I feel a bit like a zombie but I hope to feel better soon, now that I have stopped taking it. I’m going back to Metformin and have started a vegan diet. Currently not on any meds (2 days) and by sugars are really looking A LOT better following vegan diet. I don’t think this drug should even be on the market to be honest. I’m not sure if I can post updates on this site but I will try in 1-3 months time to let everyone know if the side effects have fully worn off. I am male, 30 years and have had T2D for about 4 years."

For Diabetes, Type 2 "Diabex (slow release metformin) stopped working slowly over a period of about 9 years, basically since diagnosis. Doctor put me on this drug (combination Metformin & Dapagliflozin) called Xigduo XR (1000mg/5mg respectively X2 daily). Took about 4 to 5 weeks but levels started dropping steadily and now regularly get 5. Initially did get a little stomach upsets and cramping , slight diarrhea, but it eased after a couple of weeks. The best thing is the weight loss...Lost 16kg in about 5 months and it's stayed off!! Not doing anything different. Now back to recommended weight for my height, Yay!! Do seem to pee a little bit more, but the benefits, including liver function and kidneys returning to normal are amazing."
