Dapagliflozin for Heart Failure "I attempted 2 trial runs of Farxiga. Within two days of taking it, I had severe pain in my groin area that caused me to limp and difficulty getting up and down out of the chair. My kidneys felt like they were on fire with the pain. My blood glucose levels went up, and I had severe muscle cramping, constipation, weight gain, headaches, dry mouth, nausea, stomach cramps, severe pitting, and edema from my ankles up to my knees. I continued taking it for about 10 days. When I stopped taking it, within 24 hours the pain in my groin area stopped, and by 48 hours, my muscle cramps had stopped. My physician recommended I stop taking it for two weeks and then restart it. I followed the instructions, and all the above symptoms came back again. I stopped taking it, and again, most of my symptoms subsided. However, I still have constipation issues, fatigue, and some swelling in my legs."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been taking this Farxiga for 1 year now, 10mg alongside 2500 metformin. I have lost 45 lbs with it. At first, I was nauseous which lasted a couple of months for sure. I had my first yeast infection, isn't fun, when I told my doctor, she said to start taking cranberry capsules so I am not drowning myself in fluids all day. That cleared up the infection and haven't had it since. Also, not having to urinate all the time. Also, my doctor was well aware of the kidney risk and gave me medication to protect them or line them, as well as a blood pressure med. My blood sugars are normal these days. I am healthier and happier."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I am 68. I was put on Farxiga in January. By March, I had a lot of pain in my kidneys along with a yeast infection and bladder infection, all caused by Farxiga! It is now June, I’ve been off it since March. Diagnosed with a kidney stone, never ever had kidney issues before Farxiga. Now, on 6/2/21, I get deep bone chilling shakes that last for hours, nausea, only vomiting once but it never goes away. Then the heat comes in with plenty of sweating. I am getting weaker, the doctor appears to be of little help. I’ll be surprised to be here next year! Thank you, Farxiga."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I am on Janumet and started Farxiga about 3 months ago. Since then, I have been constantly nauseated, losing approx 10 lb from not wanting to eat. My cholesterol has gone up and my triglycerides were over 600 (normal is under 150). I am going to see my doctor tomorrow, so he can advise me. My hgbA1C was 7.2 and went down to 6.4. Not unusual for someone not eating much, though. Not sure if the nausea is from this med or something else, but it seems like the symptoms started shortly after I started taking Farxiga."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first pill at 8 am Sunday, and within two hours, I started feeling extremely cold from inside to outside. My hands were ice cold, and I felt really quite unwell. I started eating sweet stuff to bring up sugar levels, and then I felt nausea, then dizziness, and started getting stomach cramps and pain in my joints, and the need to constantly urinate. This went on for hours, and then I started feeling so tired that I could barely keep myself awake, so I went to bed hoping to feel better the next day. I didn't feel like myself at all the next day or for a few days, actually, still so tired, I couldn't keep myself awake. My whole body was aching, didn't feel as cold but still felt chilled and nauseous and not myself... I NEVER in a million years would've believed that taking just ONE pill could've affected me so badly."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This drug put me in the hospital with DKA. Was taking for about 5 weeks when I started going downhill fast. It didn't matter how much sleep I got, I was always exhausted and felt like I hadn't slept for days. It dropped my sugar levels, well, that's because I couldn't eat anything, couldn't even lift a spoon of food to my mouth. All I wanted to do was sleep. What I did manage to eat in the first few days of being ill, I couldn't keep down. This medication made me feel like I was knocking on death's door. Will NEVER take it again, and nor should anyone else. Worst few weeks of my life."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Was on it for about 4 days. Got dehydrated, malaise, and extreme nausea. I stopped taking Farxiga and went back to the previous drug I was taking. Feel much better now."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Don't like it at all. I see why people lose some weight taking this stuff. Started 5 mg a month ago and have been nauseous since day 1. Blood work next week to see if it's doing any good."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on Farxiga for over two years and thought it was my wonder drug. My blood sugar control was excellent. All was well until a year ago when suddenly I was being flown by helicopter to the nearest ICU. I was in a coma and in end stage (DKA) Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I woke up three days later to learn what had happened to me. I was informed that the Farxiga was the cause. I haven’t fully recovered and have been unable to control my sugars since. I’m writing this to encourage people to educate themselves on what DKA is and the signs. My blood sugar was only 7 when I first went to the ER, and by the time I was being flown out, it had climbed to over 40. Signs for me we’re sudden onset weakness and shortness of breath, nausea, vomiting, severe headache and muscle pain, loss of appetite leading to extreme breathing problems (kussmal breathing) and finally unconsciousness. Even though Health Canada had issued a warning concerning this risk, but I was never informed of it."
