For Type 2 Diabetes "I have used Trulicity, Bydureon, and Victoza. All helped, but my blood sugar was still out of control, even with a modified diet. I am 5'11", female, 180 lbs. I have been using Soliqua now for about a month. My blood sugar went from 259 first thing in the a.m. to 100, which is a huge accomplishment for me! I take 10 mg of Farxiga. I started with 15 units, then after 3 days, my doctor told me to increase the units by 5 every day until my blood sugar was under 120 first thing in the a.m. At 50 units, my blood sugar has been consistently between 100-110 in the mornings! Throughout the day, after meals, my blood sugar has not been higher than 220 (again, HUGE for me). I am going to see my doctor this week before increasing my dosage to the max of 60 units. I would say try it out for yourself. So far, it's working well for me, and I have not experienced any weight gain, I actually lost 3 lbs."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Soliqua for almost a year. I started at 15 units, now I am up to 20 units. I have been on 20 units for a long time. I also take metformin ER and glimepiride. My sugar is approx 140, and my A1C is 68. The only side effect I had was at first my nose would be stuffy, but now I have no side effects, and it works great! I do exercise and try to watch what I eat. I have been using the savings card, but the pharmacy always has trouble filling. If I did not have this card, it would be $700, I cannot afford that."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Not useful by any means. Gained 4 pounds in one week. Blood sugar after fasting was 329, has been in the high 200s since. This week, I have developed a backache. I am on a very low carb diet. I exercise daily. Drink plenty of water. Perhaps this one is not for everyone. It is doing the opposite of the former meds I was taking."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Soliqua for 6 months and it has worked great for me! I will say I wish the pen was a bit smoother to engage. I have used others that have a better pen when injecting. However, I have had the best results with Soliqua. When I started, my A1C was at 10, now it’s at 7.9! I’m a work in progress, but hey, it’s heading in the right direction. I take 50 units daily in combination with Jardiance."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Soliqua was okay at first. I really didn’t have any better blood sugar results than with Toujeo. A1C 7.5 before, 7.6 after 3 months of Soliqua. I experienced extreme hunger and actually gained 5 pounds. I went back to Toujeo after 3 months. Back under control again."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I'm 69, female, with type 2 diabetes. I was on Trulicity and 1000 mg metformin. Blood sugars ran average 160, so I was put on Soliqua 15 mg. Blood sugars over 210 all day for 2 weeks. I was told it would take my body time to adjust. Well, then increased to 25 mg. Same result. Yesterday told to jump to 35 mg. So far, blood sugars are remaining at around 225. My back is starting to hurt, I hope it's not kidneys. I return to doc on July 11, but I'm not sure I'm going to continue over a month with blood sugars over 200. I would not recommend Soliqua."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Began Soliqua 3 weeks ago. FBS was around 300 before starting 15u per day. I have titrated up to 24 units, and my blood sugars are actually higher: 330-370 fasting, with some upper 400's during the day. Paid $42 copay, sent me deep toward coverage gap, and doesn't work. Going to call the company tomorrow to ask if somehow the amount toward coverage gap can be reimbursed. If not, I have wasted over $700."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Soliqua has ruined my life. I started on it in early August as recommended by an endocrinologist. I stopped in late September because of unremitting nausea. It hasn't stopped. Chronic nausea is called gastroparesis or slow emptying of the stomach. I rarely experienced nausea in my entire life (age 70). I am now nauseous every minute of every day! It's not worth the risk!!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started on Soliqua about 5 months ago. Started at 19 units. Started having to increase units because sugar, which was not good. Every time I increased the dosage, sugar would be better for a few days, and then sugar would go back up. Now, I'm on 46 units, and my A1C was 8... last check. I was put on another oral medication to help with mealtime plus take metformin 500 mg. My sugar has increased since the 46 units, but the doctor advised me not to increase. I go back next month for A1C check. I have gained about 5 lbs also. Also, has to be administered in the morning 1 hour before eating or drinking anything. Not very practical. The best thing I can say is I'm not allergic and have had problems with other drugs in the past."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I haven't started taking it yet. I am taking 70 units of Lantus at night and 30 in the morning to bridge it. It doesn't last in my body for 24 hours. I also take 1000 mg Metformin twice a day. Five months ago, I started walking 4 miles a day (sometimes twice a day) and swimming for an hour, and I lost 40-plus pounds. I am all of a sudden in the middle of the day dropping down to a blood sugar of 60, while in the past four months earlier, it was staying at 120-140. I'm going to cut back, but now having second thoughts about switching over to Soliqua. I wake up every morning with blood sugar under 100, it has to be from weight loss and everyday exercise, but it has only been for the last 4 months. My A1C was 12 at one point, now it's 6.2, that's what makes me nervous about switching. I don't want to take something that is stronger than Lantus. One benefit, which I'm grateful for, is I'm accepted in the PAP and get my Lantus or Soliqua at no charge."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have noticed weight gain, sugars go up more every time I use it. I take 60 units now, and I agree my sugars are worse, and since the increase in June, I have gained at least 6 pounds. Metformin is very bad. Ruins kidneys and dehydration."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I've been on it for 2 months now! Started at 28 units and now I'm up to 40. I'm always dizzy, sometimes I feel unbalanced and have to hold on to something. I just don't like the way I feel! It's an all-day thing."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Soliqua for 3 weeks now and love it. I was on 45 units of Basaglar but am using 31 units of Soliqua. It has controlled my appetite. Before, I had cravings, now I have to remind myself to eat, and when I do eat, I eat less than previously. I lost 10 lbs. in three weeks' time. I’m sure that rate will slow down, but I am happy with a more controlled appetite and lower insulin amount. I only had a slightly off feeling the first 2 days."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This is the first time I have tried insulin injections. Previously, I was taking medications by mouth and having less than favorable results. Soliqua is working very well for me. After about six months of taking the medicine, my sugar levels are in range, and my A1C has dropped. It is almost down to normal. I recommend this drug for all you sugar addicts out there."
