Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I'm from South Africa, my doctor prescribed FORXIGA two months ago. My side effects are: severe vaginal thrush, leg and hip cramps, night sweats, difficulty getting out of bed, and staying tired. But the fact that weight loss is going to happen, I will stick it out, lol."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Taking with Victoza, my blood pressure dropped through the floor, sometimes as low as 90/60. Caused dizziness and heart palpitations. Sex is not an option. Urine stunk pretty bad. Dr. has since ordered me off. Going to start another drug or drugs. Feel like a guinea pig."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I am on Janumet and started Farxiga about 3 months ago. Since then, I have been constantly nauseated, losing approx 10 lb from not wanting to eat. My cholesterol has gone up and my triglycerides were over 600 (normal is under 150). I am going to see my doctor tomorrow, so he can advise me. My hgbA1C was 7.2 and went down to 6.4. Not unusual for someone not eating much, though. Not sure if the nausea is from this med or something else, but it seems like the symptoms started shortly after I started taking Farxiga."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Have stopped taking it as I was having to pee all the time (every 1-2 hours). Feeling dehydrated. Yeast infection. Hair falling out. Only been taking for a month. Don't know what it's done for my A1C, but my levels are higher than normal."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I started this med 4 years ago. I never experienced any of the symptoms of others. Except my hair does feel thinner, but I've always had thin hair. I lost 20 lb taking it along with metformin, my A1C went to 6. Yes, I drink more water and pee a lot at night, which is a big deal."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on this for the past 9 months. My doctor visit (9 months ago), A1C was at 9.0. I asked if he thought I could try this medicine, and he agreed. My most recent visit, my A1C had dropped to 6.5. I was afraid that it was still going to be high since I had not changed the way I ate or started exercising. I have always, and still do, take Janumet twice daily. Also, I have experienced absolutely none of the side effects, except frequent urination early on, but that has calmed down."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Farxiga for a little less than a month and am experiencing headaches, extreme scalp itching, shortness of breath, back pain, and dehydration. I generally drink tons of water, and prior to Farxiga, did not have to urinate as much as I do. I also think that I am getting a yeast infection. I was on Janumet and Jardiance prior to this, but my insurance company stopped covering both, so now I am forced to take this or Invokana... I don't like this medication and would prefer to be on what I was taking before. If you have any say-so in the matter, DO NOT TAKE FARXIGA!!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "Really pleased - this is the only drug that has brought my blood sugars right down and under control. My blood sugar was always sky high before, and Metformin did nothing at all for my blood sugar levels. I have also experienced steady, effortless weight loss since being on the drug for the last several months, which I am incredibly happy about - I have battled with constant weight gain and obesity my whole life, and exercise/dieting never seems to work for me. Although it's only been a few months, I am feeling very positive about this drug. I have had minimal side effects - only side effects were very intense, extremely dry mouth and extreme, unquenchable thirst for the first few weeks, but this gradually went. I give this drug 10/10."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I have fought with my weight for years, and prior to Farxiga, I had an excellent A1c, but I was still obese. In the first month, I lost almost 15 lb. After the 2nd month, I have lost 20 lb and made progress with other health issues that were affected by my weight. My husband's diabetes is still a work in progress, but for him, this was the medication that finally got control over the diabetes and allowed the doctor to stop long-acting insulin. I cannot say if my reduced appetite is due to the medication or due to finally adjusting to eating smaller portion sizes. I cannot list any negatives from taking the drug, and I'm the type of person that always has some type of random or rare reaction. Before adding Farxiga, I was on Metformin, Ozempic, and my thyroid was in... Only change Farxiga."

For Type 2 Diabetes "This drug has given me a UTI, a lengthy episode of thrush, and a genital infection. I have been taking it for 6 weeks. I have never suffered from any of these conditions before. I have not been able to speak to a doctor, despite daily calls to the surgery because this is not deemed serious. The practice nurse has tried to help and given me 3 days of antibiotics. This appeared to help the UTI but not the thrush or genital infection. The nurse would not advise me about stopping dapagliflozin. Said she is not a doctor. Seemed unable to understand that I desperately wanted to at least speak to a doctor. I feel that the infection that I have from front to back needs examining. That was why I have contacted the surgery for 4 days in a row. So, without speaking to a doctor, I am now told to pick up Canesten cream from the chemist tomorrow. I am paying to see a GP ASAP. For me, this drug has not been effective, and it has caused me harm."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Been on Farxiga since October 2014. Has worked for me. When I eat right, my numbers are in the fives, and when I don't eat right, they are in the sixes. Only noticeable side effect is dizziness when raising up after bending down if I'm not purposely coming up slowly."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Started out with 5 mg 3 months ago. Began having slight external itching after about a month. Never turned into an internal yeast infection. It was off and on. Started taking 10 mg about 10 days ago, and it turned into the "worst itch ever." Awful! Couldn't tell much difference in going to the bathroom, nor a change in my blood sugar. Did not help A1c. I would rather fight high blood sugar than take this medication!"

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I just want to put out one of my weird side effects. It gave me suicidal thoughts. I hadn’t been having the thoughts before. And when I quit the drug, the thoughts went away. So if you are also on this drug and having thoughts that aren’t normal, this could be why."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Was consuming Bydurion 2 MG week, Metformin 2000 MG day, Glyburide 15 MG day, Crestor 20 MG day, Lisinopril 20 MG day. Added Farxiga 5 MG day 3 mos ago. Average AM glucose was avg 220. Now 120 every day. A1C will certainly be down from 9.0. Frequent urination, but my life is better because of Farxiga. A definite game changer for me."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been taking this medication for 6 weeks and my A1C is dropping. I've dropped 4 lbs, which is an added benefit. Side effects - slightly runny nose and constipation. I'm drinking more fluids but still began getting constipated by week 4. I'm also on Metformin, so I haven't been constipated in years. The medication is very expensive at almost $1000 per quarter, but luckily I have a diabetes plan that covers 100% if I abide by various rules, else I wouldn't be taking this medication. Also, I don't want to take this medication long-term with all the health warnings about 'could cause cancer.'"

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Farxiga has wrecked havoc on me. I am a 52-year-old female. I took just 1 pill and immediately had issues with yeast, itching so bad to the point I was red and raw. Then, I stopped taking it to test if Farxiga was the cause. I started to take it again and immediately had the same symptoms. I started to show signs of vaginal bleeding and then dark urine and blood in urine. Now, a UTI from prolonged yeast infections and back pain, cramping. Had urgency to urinate and seemed like every 20 minutes running to urinate, sometimes not being able to make it. I have not had a period in a year and 5 months, and to see blood scared me to death. I was told that yeast and UTI can make you bleed vaginally. I stopped taking this drug again and am changing meds."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on this drug about 2 months when I developed a horrible UTI and ended up in the hospital, where it was also discovered that I had acute kidney injury. I have never had an issue with this before with any of the other diabetes medications I have tried, but I have been told it is the way the drug works. The bottom line is that it did nothing to control my glucose or A1C either."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Took this medication for over 6 months with no discernible difference in BS. No side effect, however, on Medicare, the charges increase to over $500.00 per month in the Doughnut Hole - without a discount available. Stopped taking it after reading some very negative reviews of this drug and the approval process."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "So far, probably the most effective Rx I have ever taken. In 25 days, my A1C has dropped from near 10 to 6.5, and the only thing I think I have experienced wrong is some constipation, but not terrible. Still in the early stages, but if it stays on track-Godsend."

For Type 2 Diabetes "To put it simply, this drug has changed my life. Virtually immediately after starting to take Farxiga, my blood sugar numbers returned to the normal range (4.5 - 5.8), and with only a slight change in diet, in six weeks, I have lost over 12 kg. I have had a slight increase in my activity level, but I still am not as active as I want to be. I have decreased my insulin dosage from up to 80 units/day to 14 and still maintained excellent blood sugar levels. No side effects at all. I could not be happier."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "Worst ever! I am peeing every hour, if not more times an hour. All day and night! I can't drink enough to keep my mouth moist. But the peeing. Seriously, can I stop now? It can't be good for my body to pee this much."

Dapagliflozin for Chronic Kidney Disease "Being not sure how to feel completely. I have started 5 mg of this medication a week ago. Make sure you are drinking while taking this medication. I don’t have diabetes but I have had CKD for years and was prescribed this before and didn't want my kidneys to become dependent on this. Well, a few years later (just recently), my creatinine went from 1.12 to 1.42. And my eGFR went from 61 to 47 so I agreed to try the 5 mg of Farxiga. So far, my complaints are peeing all the time, which I have baby wipes to wipe with first then I dry with toilet paper, and headaches each day. I called my doctor and he will be getting labs each week for 4 weeks and see how my levels are doing. Doesn't help I am a nurse and know what I want to have checked, but I will be going on Monday for a check lab draw and see if taking it for a mere week has done anything different as I have peed at least every hour. Make sure to drink a lot of fluid since you are going to be peeing it out."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been taking Farxiga for almost 2 years. I’ve experienced some minor weight loss, frequent urination, and yeast infections pretty regularly. I have also noticed a change in my hair. It’s not as soft as it used to be, and I do think I may have lost some on top as a result of this med. Why do I stay on it? Because it’s been free-due to a savings card, almost the entire time I’ve been on it, and I don’t want to start losing limbs as a result of diabetes. I need help, and for now, this is it."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "It works, just not liking the side effect. I literally drank 5 gallons of water to myself. And I'm not enjoying the nonstop pooping. Omg - so not worth it. I'm like a damn camel. Water, water, water, and then in the bathroom. But overall, blood sugar has been fairly low for me."

Dapagliflozin for Type 2 Diabetes "I took Farxiga for 8 months. I ended up with numerous horrible urinary tract and yeast infections. So bad one time that it required an ER visit and missing work. At the end of the 8 months, my A1c went from a 6.7 to a 7.1. It didn't work at all for me, just made me miserable."
