"Cipro is the only medicine that cures my resistant bladder infections. One doctor prescribed 10 days of Bactrim, but it didn't work. After 10 days on the Bactrim and being miserable and in considerable pain, I was prescribed Cipro (three pills for three days). After taking the second Cipro pill, my symptoms were completely gone! Cipro is truly a wonder medicine for me."

"Call me crazy, but I think it worked after only one day. Only mild bloating/gas as a side effect. I'll finish it as prescribed, but - seriously, it's fine. I took it with full meals, and it worked like a charm!"

Ciprofloxacin "It's been three days since I've been on this medicine. First-time user also. I never had a bladder infection, but it got a lot better than it was the first day with the burning and pain. I am still experiencing a bit of the burning. I am hoping it works and takes it fully away about the time it's my last dose. At first, this medicine made me nauseous and tired, but I drank more water, and it seemed to help take that away."

"I got a UTI and was prescribed Cipro because I am allergic to sulfa drugs. It took care of the UTI quickly, but I can't wait to get off it. I have two days left. I feel achy, tired, have indigestion, and had nightmares. I read the side effects, and they are all on there. Also, I cannot take any of my other medications because of potential reactions. I don't have any other choices, but I don't feel well on this drug."

"I have a dual urinary tract system and, as a result, have had many urinary tract infections and kidney/bladder infections over the years, with several operations. Ciprofloxacin has always been the medicine prescribed by my urologist and/or doctors. I would not use another medicine, as this gives minimal side effects and my issues are rectified. You must drink and continue to drink plenty of water."

"I have taken this medication several times for UTIs, and it works great! No side effects at all! I am on it now for a bladder infection, and I have had relief within the first couple of hours. It's great."

"Cipro is the only thing that gets rid of my bladder infections. It is fantastic, and I ask for it whenever I get a bladder infection. I do notice that I need to take it hours apart from my hypothyroid medication, or else it decreases the effectiveness of my thyroid medicines. But Cipro is the only thing that cures my bladder infections."

"Four days ago I started on Cipro for a urinary tract infection. I am allergic to Bactrim. I have taken it before. It is very effective and fast-acting. However, this evening I started having side effects. Both legs from about 6 inches above the knee down through my feet ache, tingle, and sting like I have a band around my thigh cutting off circulation. I called the office that prescribed it due to the printout from the pharmacy. He just says if I am concerned, go to the ER. So I am going off it and waiting to see what happens. I have 6 pills left."

Ciprofloxacin "I took Cipro for only three days for a bladder infection. I was left with ankle/tendon pain and diarrhea for three months. I had no clue what was happening to me. Turns out lots have had the same reaction to this class of antibiotic."

"I've been on ciprofloxacin for 3 days now for a urinary tract infection, and I don't know what's worse... the pain from the actual infection or the horrible feeling this medication has given me. Every time I take it, it gives me a headache, I feel drained and dizzy, and it gives me this restless anxiety attack feeling. I hope that at the end of my 7-day cycle it will be worth it, but so far I feel worse than better."

"OMGoodness... I thought I was dead. I am still going through the side effects as we speak. I don't recommend anyone use this antibiotic. I am still kind of nervous because I just stopped taking the meds a little over 24 hours ago. Trying to drink as much water as I can to flush it out of my system quickly as possible. No medication has ever made me feel this way out of all of my 39 years."

Ciprofloxacin "Second day into a 7-day cycle... within the first 15 to 20 minutes, ciprofloxacin gives me phantom sensations like flea bites. Nothing major, it goes away shortly after. The blood is clearing up in my urine, but still a mild pain in my right flank. Hopefully, this stuff gets rid of the bacteria for good. Feels like it is. Other than a sour stomach, it seems to be working."

"Great stuff. And for those who have had issues with it... guess what... your system is different than mine. That's all. So don't go telling folks it sucks. A Tesla won't run on gasoline, but that doesn't mean gasoline doesn't work."

"I have had a lifetime of bladder infections, and ciprofloxacin (although a little annoying because of the dairy and iron) works wonders! By the second dose, the pain is 95% gone. My advice: take it with a handful of Cheerios first thing in the morning and about 11 hours later at night when you haven't had too much dairy (like a glass of milk or a steak). I had no side effects, and I always get it for at least one week to 10 days. I've taken just about every other one, and I've had the infections come back. Ciprofloxacin is always my first choice!"

Ciprofloxacin "Cipro is a fluoroquinolone. The FDA has issued a black box warning-the most severe warning it can issue-on all fluoroquinolone antibiotics because they cause so many horrible, long-term side effects (like permanent tendonitis on multiple parts of the body) that may take years to come to light."

"I was prescribed Cipro for a UTI when my lab test indicated I had a bacteria that was resistant to the more commonly prescribed meds. So I had a three-day course, at 250 mg twice a day. It worked perfectly, and I had no side effects other than a little bit of drowsiness in the morning on day two. That is it. I'm done with the pills as of last week, and I feel great. I am 64 and in good health and take no other meds."

"I was experiencing pain in my right kidney. It wasn't a sharp pain, but more of a dull achy pain that was just uncomfortable. It went away the next day but would come back every other day. I then started to feel the beginning stages of a UTI coming on, so I correlated the two together. The doctor took a urine sample, but results have not come back yet. She says she thinks I have a bladder infection spreading to my kidney, so she prescribed me Cipro. After looking it up, I read Cipro is good for UTI, kidney, and bladder infections, so it should work perfectly fine. After my second pill, my UTI was cleared up (hallelujah), but after taking three days, my pain in my kidney is more constant than ever and stays 24/7 now. I hope it goes away soon!"

"Eight years ago I had a UTI so bad the first round of antibiotics didn't work, and that became apparent when blood in my urine was visible to me at home and still in a world of pain. Fortunately, they took a culture my first visit to discover the bacteria I had would not be killed by what was prescribed... no duh! So they gave me Cipro, and within an hour I felt relief. Fast forward eight years, same situation but exasperated by too much sriracha (chili sauce), I woke up with pains of a bad UTI. Ran to the doc, I had been drinking too much water for them to detect leukocytes and nitrates but detected blood and sent the culture to the lab. She prophylactically prescribed Cipro and the UTI was gone. I noticed little side effects, maybe some light-headedness and tiredness, but that's about it."

"This drug is so toxic to anyone other than desk jockeys who walk their dog a few blocks for exercise. Cleaning houses for a living isn't an Olympic sport, doesn't even burn a ton of calories. But the tendons around my knees are destroyed from squatting to clean low places. It's that easy to destroy your body on this antibiotic. The week duration I was on it, I did half a workload. But no matter, my entire body felt awful and burdened with constant pain. Even if you sit around all day, if this antibiotic makes your body hurt worse than the infection you're fighting, stop it and call your doc. I was on it because the first antibiotic didn't work. So I felt obligated to put up with the havoc my body felt. Don't. Just don't. Make your doc find the other available options. They are out there. This is a strong drug with severe and detrimental side effects."

"I loved this medication! It helped, honestly, within maybe a day or so, downfall, I got a yeast infection from it, but I've gotten them before on antibiotics, so I wasn't too surprised or shocked. But other than that, this medication worked fine. I used it for a bladder infection, plus I had to use it before a kidney stone procedure as well! Love it!"

"My 3rd day on Cipro without hardly any effect. I'm in pain 24/7 like a period. Ready to consult a doctor again. I was in the ER on the 6th of May. Still lots of pain. Plus I have stomach issues. No appetite. My entire abdominal area hurts. Nausea."

"I took Cipro for prostate infection twice a day, and the course was supposed to be for 7 days. By the 4th day, I had pain in my back and legs, constipation, insomnia, foggy mind, and tremors in my hands. Now, I'm always tired, lost about 20 pounds, I'm very susceptible to cold weather, no longer working. I was a very healthy person before I took Cipro, awful pill."

"Within hours of taking the generic Cipro and AZO, I felt much better. I was only having pain and urgency the morning before I went to the doc. I'm on day 3, and the past two days I've been lethargic, groggy, and bloated. The first night had some anxiety, but I think that's from reading the side effects before going to sleep (eeek). I have had some mood swings as well. Hopefully, I only need to take it for 5 days instead of 7 - waiting for my lab result of how severe the infection was - I hate taking antibiotics."

"I was prescribed cipro after the first antibiotic didn't completely work for a UTI. Stay away from this drug! Poison. Please Google what has happened to people who have taken this horrible drug that the FDA finally gave it a black box warning. I have pain in my hips, shoulders, and arms because of this drug."

"Use D-Mannose. I was prone to lots of bladder/urinary tract infections after taking cipro. I found a Google post on D-Mannose, and it worked great. I used it in powder form, and it looks and tastes like powdered sugar. Take a teaspoon mixed in water daily, and you will NEVER have another infection. Read up on it and on ciprofloxacin, and don't ever take it."
