For Bronchitis "The Z-Pak cleared up my bronchitis right away. However, it almost instantly caused symptoms of gastritis and pancreatitis that made me very ill for five months. I could eat very little but was rapidly losing weight. My doctor found low liver and kidney enzymes and suggested further tests. An endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, several lab tests, and $1,700 later, there was no diagnosis, but after five months, I gradually got better. The next winter, I got another cold that turned into bronchitis and was again prescribed a Z-Pak. Almost immediately, the same symptoms occurred, and I was just as sick for another five months. This time, the connection was clear - Z-Pak."

For Bronchitis "Overall, the medications I was prescribed by the doctors worked pretty well. I had an awful cough for a little over two weeks, constantly coughing up phlegm, and had horrible wheezing. It says online to try and wait it out for two weeks, but since nothing was getting better, I went to the doctors. I was prescribed the Z pack, a 5-day dose of prednisone, and an inhaler. After about 3 days on the medications, there was a significant difference. I no longer was experiencing cough attacks, and the amount I was wheezing diminished. I've been off the medication for 3 days now, and a majority of my bronchitis is gone. I experienced no side effects with any of the medications and am overall happy with the results."

For Bronchitis "I came down with bronchitis and was prescribed Zithromax. I was prone to ear infections when I was younger and was always prescribed this because I was allergic to penicillin. I had no side effects then, but now I have bad stomach cramps and diarrhea."

For Bronchitis "I took a total of two doses: two caplets on day one and one caplet on day two. That night, I had horrible night sweats that soaked through two sets of pajamas. My heart was racing, and I had a metallic taste in my mouth. Stopped taking it. My bronchitis has been going away without it, and finally, one week after I stopped taking it, I'm no longer sweating, the bad taste is gone, and my heart rate is back to normal."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "This is the only antibiotic that ever works for me. Whenever I have a cold and the doctor claims it is viral, it always goes to my tonsils. This time I waited 7 days, suffering fever and a throat so sore I could not swallow, and eventually went to the pharmacist and asked for Zithromax Z-Pak. Within 1 day, I was 80 percent healed. No side effects. It works for me every time. By day 2, all sinus congestion had gone and I got my first real sleep in two weeks."

For Bronchitis "I would be very careful taking this antibiotic if you have heart issues. I have mitral valve prolapse and tachycardia, and this antibiotic made it worse after one dose. I asked my doctor three times if it was okay to take if you have heart problems, and she said yes. I’ve since read that it could cause an arrhythmia issue. Well, great, I already have that. Thinking about changing doctors now. Definitely will avoid this antibiotic in the future."

For Chlamydia Infection "The nurse gave me two Zithromax pills to take for chlamydia. An hour later, my stomach was killing me, and I had diarrhea! I can’t even finish my meals, halfway through my meals, I feel nauseous. I am also very bloated, and I get headaches, dizziness, discharge, and itchiness! Use a condom! You don’t want to go through this."

For Chlamydia Infection "Found out I got the clap from this girl at a festival three weeks ago. Got tested and turns out my irritation was chlamydia. Took my dose of Zithromax and called up the ladies I had sexual relations with since. They all had it, super clap. Now I gotta buy them all flowers and get them Zithromax. Meds worked, but I had severe watery poos. I'm back to action now, but I'll be more careful in the future!"

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Zithromax was given to my daughter for upper respiratory symptoms 3 days before her flight to Fla to visit grandparents. Within the day, I noticed a great difference. No side effects, and she has a heart condition. My lovely daughter passed her buggies on to me, I've been fighting it for a week. Went to the doctor today, gave me the same thing... fingers crossed."

For Middle Ear Infections "Woke up due to severe vertigo. Diagnosis of otitis media (at 43? Haven't had an ear infection since I was 13). Doctor prescribed a Z-Pak (Azithromycin 500 mg Day 1, 250 mg days 2-5). The vertigo decreased by Day 3, but never completely subsided. The second morning after finishing the Z-Pak, the vertigo was back in full force, and my ear started to ache. Azithromycin didn't kill the infection."

For Sinusitis "I'm 35 and have had sinus infections as long as I can remember. Prior to my allergy shots, I was getting them 3-4 times a year. Z-PAC is my favorite, and it cures it quickly. Once in a blue moon, I'll need another round, though. But lately, my doctors have said the bacteria has been resistant to it, and I've used another medication, and though it works, it takes so much longer. I'm happy to say that I'm told the bacteria this year isn't supposed to be as resistant to it. For all the ladies, you may want to ask for yeast infection meds before you leave the doctor's office. For me, it never fails."

For Chlamydia Infection "I've seen a lot of reviews, and they kind of freaked me out about the side effects. I fixed myself a nice brunch, ate, then took the pills, and about an hour after taking the (4) 250 mg Zithromax pills, my stomach started churning and rumbling. I used the bathroom once, and that was pretty much it. No vomiting, no bad diarrhea, or sweating, etc. I took the pills Wednesday, so I'm 2 days in."

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed Zithromax for an upper respiratory infection, and I did not have such a good experience. The first day I had really bad diarrhea. I couldn't even leave the house. The second day I was overwhelmed with nausea. I took the pill with food and still felt sick to my stomach the entire day and night. Today I have decided the terrible side effects are not worth it, and I'm not going to take the rest of my prescription."

For Chlamydia Infection "It doesn't taste like anything when I took it. But I eat a meal with it and drink a glass of water/milk like it suggests. I've taken this medication three times. Each time it makes my stomach hurt, and I feel very nauseous. I also get sweaty and have bad diarrhea within an hour or two. It clears the infection up well, though."

For Sinusitis "I have had this sinus infection for 5 days. Went to the doctor's yesterday, the doctor prescribed me Zithromax. The side effects with me are stomach cramps, diarrhea, bloody nose, and dizziness. But it seems to be working so far. Let's hope that by the time the bottle is finished, I feel like myself again."

For Bronchitis "I took a full course of the 250 mg 5-day pack with no ill effects except for a metallic taste in my mouth, but then the bronchitis came back, so I was prescribed the 500 mg 3-day course. On day two, I got severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and vomiting. I am not going to take the final dose because, although the bronchitis is better, I can't deal with the intense stomach discomfort."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the 4 capsules by mouth at once, and within 40 minutes, I am having chronic stomach pain, extreme nausea, and 2 trips within 15 minutes to the toilet with diarrhea. I rarely ever feel side effects to any medication I’ve ever taken, and this hurts like the dickens. I have yet to actually throw up, but I am using all the power in me not to so I can make sure the medication stays in my system to cure the infection. If this does cure the infection like it should, then it’ll be worth it. This is the most miserable I’ve ever felt, and if I throw up, I hop, hop here comes bathroom trip number 3."

For Bacterial Infection "I had no issues with side effects from Zithromax whatsoever, although the doctor said it would likely cause stomach upsets (again, never experienced this though). Unfortunately, though, it did nothing to help the bacterial infection. It's only been about two days now... I would have thought there'd be some improvement, but it still steadily gets worse."

For Bronchitis "This medicine worked the first time on me with no problems. The second time I used this, I had a severe reaction, which caused very low blood pressure. I could not feel my pulse, in which I had to go to a Dr. I now am allergic to this medicine. This medication works very well if you can use it. It works very fast."

For Sinusitis "Z-Pak was given to me during a walk-in care visit. Seven days after starting, my condition has not improved. I experienced several side effects, including nausea, diarrhea, fever, sweating, and more. The worst of all is the loss of appetite caused by the medication. I have only had about two days' worth of meals in the last five and still cannot stomach a full meal."

For Sinusitis "The day one, two pills do tend to wipe out the bacteria in my gut. After having stomach issues on the first night of the first time, I do take a probiotic and one Imodium at night. The first time I took this, it wiped the infection in 48 hours. The second time, 11 months later, it did not work quite so well. The infection greatly decreased but did come back 5 days later. I think part of the problem was that I still had a virus and mold allergy problems from rain, as well as an infection, so had trouble eliminating congestion. I took a 5-day dosage and did have symptoms reoccur in a week. I do think it would have worked better if I had not had these additional issues related to a virus and allergies."

For Sinusitis "Works very quickly, just don’t try to fart! Cause it isn’t a fart! Diarrhea kicked in after the first double dose. I have IBS and PTSD, so my gut is a roller coaster most times, so I recommend probiotics two hours after taking. Good luck, everyone."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "This medicine is the best. I have been using this medicine about once every year for upper respiratory tract infections. It really starts to work by day 2 and continues to work after about a week. As with any medicine, the side effects with me are going to the restroom more than usual."
