For Chlamydia Infection "Honestly... I wish someone would have told me what I was getting myself into with taking this. And also I do understand everyone’s reaction is different, but I just wish I could’ve prepared myself. I had the WORST stomach cramps and stomach pain I’ve ever had in my life! Similar to a previous food poisoning experience... I took Gravol before since my doctor said it could cause some nausea, but this was beyond anything I’d ever imagined. Shortly after the cramping started, I had UNCONTROLLABLE diarrhea! I feel so lucky I wasn’t driving or working. It lasted several hours, and I even woke up in the middle of the night to more cramps and..... you know what... It’s the next day, and I’m still having cramps and stomach gurgles. Ugh. I have no idea of the effectiveness at this time, but definitely the worst side effects I’ve ever had from medication."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I had been sick for a few days before taking these. Enough had been enough when I couldn't breathe because of thick, nasty mucus in my throat and a sinus infection. I had an extremely bad situation that led to the removal of my gallbladder, so I have been dealing with gastro symptoms for months. I did take this with food and probiotic yogurt, but it led to the worst diarrhea (I was sweating) and slight nausea (gassy). Bless those who battle worse side effects! You know, despite the side effects, I am staying positive because the post-nasal drip went away and I can breathe somewhat. I recommend taking a sick day if you begin this medication. 8/10 only because these side effects are awful to me. Otherwise, awesome antibiotics."

For Chlamydia Infection "Wow, took 2 500 mg an hour ago and started getting nauseous 30 mins later. Just threw up my dinner but feel a little better. Worst stomach pain I have ever experienced. Medication usually never affects me, but this stuff is no joke. I've learned my lesson, time to clean up my act. I never want to go through this again. Obviously, if it gets rid of it, it's worth it. Good luck to you."

For Chlamydia Infection "After taking two 500 mg tablets to treat my STI, about 20 minutes after taking, I became very, very nauseated. Couldn't sleep, couldn't lie down. After having quite the bowel movement, I remained nauseous for another 30 mins. Skip ahead another few bouts of diarrhea and the nausea has subsided about two hours after initially taking. Although it does its job, it will - even on a full stomach as suggested - make you feel like you want to hurl. But, if I wasn't willing to go through this, I shouldn't have had irresponsible sex. To each their own."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the 4 tablets at one time. This medicine was the best and also the worst medicine to take. It was great because it worked amazing, everything was gone. The side effects were horrible. For an hour, I was fine, and once the hour hit, I was sick to my stomach. I threw up a few times, and then I had the worst stomach pain for a few hours until I finally fell asleep. Overall, worth it though its effects people different, but if you want the infection gone, this is the go-to."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took two hours ago, 4 pink pills. Threw them up after 40 minutes, but apparently, as long as they're in your system for 20 minutes, then you're fine. And now, two hours later, I'm glued to my toilet as well."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "Was given Z-pack for bronchitis. Didn't really help with it. Made me have diarrhea. Made me sick to my stomach, terrible metallic taste, and sinus mucus. It was like it was toxic on my system. I also got a bladder infection after taking it. Probably killed all the good bacteria in my gut. Never again."

For Chlamydia Infection "Had this infection twice, smh. Took two 500 mg of azithromycin, which is 1 gram, 30 minutes after eating a big meal (as directed by the doctor). The first time, I had minor side effects. Just a bit of gagging, but nothing came out. This time, I felt horrible. Stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhea, and I felt very weak. Took the pills around 8:15 pm. It's now 10:23 pm, and I'm feeling a little better. Ran to the toilet once because of the diarrhea. Hopefully, this medicine works a second time."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the medication November 12th, 2018, it is now November 14th, Wednesday, waiting for my symptoms to leave. The painful urination is killing me. The day of taking the medication, I did have nausea and diarrhea. I can deal with that, just waiting to have the relief from the symptoms of chlamydia to pass my system. Does anybody have any idea on how soon this medicine would take effect?"

For Chlamydia Infection "A pretty positive experience overall if you can get past the whole 'crap, I have chlamydia' feelings. Bodies are weird. I've had symptoms for months, but my tests have never been positive for it, which is kind of scary. What is not scary, however, is knowing that this is totally treatable and I'll feel better almost immediately. I took 4 rather large pills right after eating a PB&J, had some popcorn a couple of hours later, and went to bed. Woke up with some pretty bad nausea and diarrhea. After all of that, things are back to normal."

Azithromycin for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Dose: Azithromycin 500 mg four times a day. Prescribed for 7 days. On day 2 now, I feel the medication is working, feeling a little better already, but all day I've been with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and back pain. I usually don't get any side effects from antibiotics, but I'm struggling with this one. If side effects continue on day 3, I'm calling the doctor. Could be the dose is too high, who knows. I'm not enjoying this so far."

For Chlamydia Infection "10 weeks pregnant, went to see my OB for STD testing. I'm thinking, 'cool, everything came out negative before my boyfriend and I got together,' which was 2 months before we started dating almost a year ago. WRONG! They called and said, 'Hey, you tested positive.' I was sure they had the wrong number. I ate cereal and took two 500 mg of the azithromycin, was rudely awakened from the best sleep of my life, feeling like my ass was falling off, stomach-wrenching pain and nausea. All dealable since I have IBS, it could've been worse. My bf is going to be tested and will have his pretty day on the toilet as well. Definitely advise against getting pregnant and the clap at the same time :)"

For Chlamydia Infection "Took the 2 pills as soon as I got in. Within 30 minutes, I felt the stomach pains. Felt sleepy, which was nice because I didn't have to feel the stomach pains. After I woke up, the pains continued, and then I felt nauseous and vomited. After that, the pains stopped, and everything felt great. Can finally eat now."

For Chlamydia Infection "I'm pregnant, then found out I have chlamydia. Took 4 pills yesterday (different times, not at once). I didn't feel any symptoms of the infection or after. Feel bad. I did feel like I needed to throw up, but that never happened. I just hope my baby will be okay."

For Chlamydia Infection "I went to my OBGYN for a yearly exam and swab. I was feeling perfectly fine and confident that my results would come back crystal clear. So, imagine my surprise when it came back that I had Chlamydia. My doctor prescribed me azithromycin. I had the two 500 mg tablets that you take at one time. Thankfully I had a full stomach before I took them. So, I had no nausea, stomach pains, or any of that, thank goodness! However, I did get a yeast infection from it. But everyone’s body is different. It definitely does do its job by clearing up the Chlamydia though."

For Bacterial Infection "My doctor prescribed me this medication for an infection I had. The SIG was to take 2 by mouth at one time (both 500mg tablets). So I took them after I ate food. About 5 minutes later, my whole body was sweating, I became weak, had horrible stomach pains, and I felt like I was going to throw up everywhere. My mom said that I got pale looking in the face. I wanted to go to the hospital so bad, but I just calmed down. I went to my room and instantly fell asleep and woke up feeling way better. THIS MEDICATION HAS HORRIBLE SIDE EFFECTS, NEVER AGAIN!"

For Chlamydia Infection "I did not know I had chlamydia until I got my regular check-up. I took these pills (two azithromycin 500 mg pills [1000 mg total]) right after eating McDonald's. Started to feel nauseous maybe an hour or so later. I did not vomit, but I did go to the bathroom twice. The stomach pains were in my upper stomach near my ribs, and it was slightly painful. The first stool was normal but slightly loose. The second stool was loose but not watery. After going to the bathroom the second time, I felt a lot better. I am not nauseous as of right now, and hopefully I won't be anymore. I can't stand feeling nauseous. Definitely will be more careful in the future. It's nothing unbearable, but if I don't have to go through it again, I hope and pray I won't."

For COPD, Acute "I was prescribed this about Nov 2014, 1 tablet a day. After two weeks of being afraid to step over the doorway, I stopped taking it, it caused severe stomach cramps, diarrhea, and nausea. My consultant had prescribed it to try to stop me from getting infections and possibly reduce my steroid intake (maintenance dose of 20 mg per day, been on them daily since March 1992 for asthma). Last month, he persuaded me to try again but to take alternate days for a month, and then if okay, ask my GP to add to my prescription. From the start, the nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps came back, followed by itchiness, headache, and shooting pain in my right ear. I have persevered for the month but will not be asking GP for more."

For Chlamydia Infection "Read a lot of the reviews before taking the medication, which scared the life out of me because of my phobia of vomiting. Well, I followed the doc's instructions - don't eat for 2 hours before taking the dose (4 tablets in one go) and at least one hour afterward. No diarrhoea, no vomiting, no nausea, no fever. I guess I was one of the lucky ones!"

For Bronchitis "Horrible drug. You feel sicker than before, and the nausea does keep you up at night, even if you try to eat more. I hate it. Not taking it anymore, and I saw online it can cause heart electrical signals to go chaotic, according to FDA. So why are they still prescribing this?"

For Chlamydia Infection "Went to the clinic after having intercourse, gave a urine sample and some blood was drawn along with a swab from my penis. I was told I had a high WBC in my swab/urine sample. Doc immediately administered a dosage of azithromycin, not sure how many mg but it sure was more than a pill as it was crushed! Had no food prior to about 3 hours of taking this medication. Did not feel any side effects immediately, but as advised by doc, had a donut within 30 minutes of taking this medicine. Did not really feel much of side effects except for some constipation the next day and a mild headache! However, reading all the comments is what I think caused me that headache and the feeling of nausea! Still got some discomfort in my penis but anxiously waiting for the blood results, should be ready within 5-7 days but really can't wait! I don’t want any STDs. It's scary. Just wondering if the high WBC count was caused due to actual STDs or something else? BTW: Heterosexual"

Azithromycin for Bacterial Infection "I’m allergic to many antibiotics, and the ones I’m not allergic to make me physically ill with nausea and terrible stomach upset. This is the only antibiotic I can take without worrying about horrible side effects. I highly recommend it. It’s also easier to take than many other antibiotics that you have to take multiple times a day. Don’t let any bad reviews scare you, this is a great antibiotic! I’m currently on it for a root canal. But I’ve had it a couple of times in the past for other issues."

For Chlamydia Infection "I took 2 pills at the same time around 7:50 pm. I had eaten a spicy chicken sandwich around 4:30, and I had a slice of pizza at about 7:35 pm. About 20-30 minutes after taking this medicine, I had hot flashes, sleepiness, stomach pain, and nausea. I ran to the restroom twice, releasing everything I had eaten. I messed up and took a few sips of 7-Up and continued to puke for about an hour. My boyfriend then got me a ginger ale, and I'm fine but really sleepy. I recommend taking it at night in the comfort of your own home. But I'm curious to know if I need to take the medicine again or wait it out for the follow-up test?"

For Chlamydia Infection "People with emetophobia/health anxiety, please listen! I am 18 and have horrible emetophobia and health anxiety. I was prescribed two, 250 mg azithromycin doses to take at once, and reading these reviews scared me. TRUST ME, you will be okay. The only symptoms I had were nausea and feeling hot. The nausea passed after about an hour, as well as the heat flash. I did not throw up, so trust me, you will be okay! Just breathe, lay down, and relax. Make sure you eat a meal 30 minutes before you take it and drink lots of water! Stay safe, y’all!"
