For Chlamydia Infection "This is my second time having the infection, so as soon as it came, I knew what it was. Unfortunately, I have a $75 gynecologist co-pay, plus whatever extra bill that they end up sending afterwards. I bought my azithromycin online--no rx-- for $16 for 6 500 mg pills. I ate first, then I took 2 500 mg pills at once before bed. The nausea came within 30 min, and I spent about 3 hours fighting my body from throwing up. I experienced hot flashes too (I didn't have that last time). I fell asleep, and in the morning, the nausea was gone. Discharge and odor are gone."

For Chlamydia Infection "So long story short, contracted the clap from a boyfriend who had sex with a girl who waited months to tell him that she had it. Yay me. Took four pills with little in my stomach, ate a couple of hours before. Let's just say I'd hate me if I were my toilet. I'm currently on it with diarrhea, pooping (have been for 30 mins), my life away while my stomach makes these weird sounds. I feel nauseous, but I don't think I'm going to throw up. Sucks to suck. I would say have safe sex, but it's already too late if you're up here, so that's pointless. But I will say I'm sorry and prepare for your colon cleanse. I feel pounds lighter!"

Azithromycin for Chlamydia Infection "It doesn't taste like anything when I took it. But I eat a meal with it and drink a glass of water/milk like it suggests. I've taken this medication three times. Each time it makes my stomach hurt, and I feel very nauseous. I also get sweaty and have bad diarrhea within an hour or two. It clears the infection up well, though."

For Chlamydia Infection "Omg! So today I took these pills on an empty stomach, and I kid you not, about 20-30 minutes after taking them, my stomach is at a 10. I'm currently on the toilet now, too scared to get up. Cramps, gurgling, nausea, you name it! I'm trying to take deep breaths to ease the pain, but it's not working at all!"

For Chlamydia Infection "I have taken this medication about 3 times, 4 250 mg (1000 mg total), all at once, and every time it's the same side effects: feeling hot, extremely nauseous, and very bad stomach pain. Although it's a very uncomfortable feeling, the medication is very effective. The uncomfortable feeling lasts close to about 2 hours, and then gradually the pain goes away. Besides the pain, it's a great medication. Good luck."

For Chlamydia Infection "Dying laughing at some of the reviews on here as I sit on the toilet with diarrhea that's been happening for like 30 mins. Took 2 500 mg pills about an hour ago w/ food. Stomach is making gross noises. Had nausea too, but it's mostly gone. Like some other people on here, I didn't wait long enough to have sex again after getting treated the first time with my partner, so this is round two. Don't be a huge idiot like me and wait, so you don't have to have the worst diarrhea twice. Good luck, people."

For Chlamydia Infection "If you’ve just gotten to this site, stop reading reviews. It’ll make you anxious, and you may panic like I did. Eat before taking this, let your stomach settle maybe 30 minutes, and then you should be okay. Went to sleep shortly after taking it and slept through the night without problems. Side effects are very mild, I would compare the nausea to drinking water a bit too fast, but not like you’re going to be sick. If you can, take probiotics, drink kombucha, or eat yogurt. It’ll help with the diarrhea if you have any. Me being emetophobic had a complete fit after reading reviews, but I’m perfectly fine. If you can’t bear the nausea, buy Emetrol. Don’t stress, you’ll be okay, just rest and take it easy."

For Chlamydia Infection "Very effective for sure! Only symptom of the infection was vaginal discharge with a weird smell. Took 2 500 mg tablets with a bag of chips and a full glass of water. Felt fine until about 3 hours later. Now I feel terrible! Nauseous and stomach pain. A little gas also. But despite the side effects, it beats having an STD."

Azithromycin for Chlamydia Infection "Took the 4 capsules by mouth at once, and within 40 minutes, I am having chronic stomach pain, extreme nausea, and 2 trips within 15 minutes to the toilet with diarrhea. I rarely ever feel side effects to any medication I’ve ever taken, and this hurts like the dickens. I have yet to actually throw up, but I am using all the power in me not to so I can make sure the medication stays in my system to cure the infection. If this does cure the infection like it should, then it’ll be worth it. This is the most miserable I’ve ever felt, and if I throw up, I hop, hop here comes bathroom trip number 3."

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "Z-Pak was given to me during a walk-in care visit. Seven days after starting, my condition has not improved. I experienced several side effects, including nausea, diarrhea, fever, sweating, and more. The worst of all is the loss of appetite caused by the medication. I have only had about two days' worth of meals in the last five and still cannot stomach a full meal."

For Bacterial Infection "Absolutely never again! I took the 3-day Z-pack (azithromycin) for an upper respiratory infection, and on the 3rd day, it tore up my intestines. It's been 2 weeks, and I have gas, bloating, diarrhea, nausea, and it didn't do anything for my infection! I have Crohn's disease as well, and I was in remission, but now, thanks to this medication, I'm going to have to start on my steroid medication again to get my stomach issues under control. I feel like I've been poisoned, period! I can't give this medication a rating of 0, or I would."

For Chlamydia Infection "I took it this morning before going to work. I felt so blindsided. Had the worst stomach pains, super nauseous, and dizziness. I was also beyond tired, like weak. I wished I would have taken it after work or after dinner. Lesson learned: don't believe anyone when they say you're the only one. Hoping and praying it all comes out good when I get rechecked."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "I was diagnosed with strep and prescribed Amoxicillin 2x/day for 10 days. I thought it worked at first, then 3 days later it came back with a vengeance. So, I was then prescribed the Z-pack (2/day 1, then 1/day for 4 days). I have 1 more pill to take till I'm finished. But, I'm not sure it is working either. The sore throat is gone, but I have a relentless cough and a ton of chest congestion. I have had mild side effects: nausea, tender stomach, not a big appetite. Still feeling really foggy and weak. I do recommend drinking either Boost or Ensure nutritional drinks while on antibiotics and taking a probiotic."

For Sinusitis "I'd be lost without this medication. I get a few real bad sinus infections per year, and they put me down and out 100%. Azithromycin is the only thing that will get rid of them. My doctor knows this, and we don't even try alternatives. Within 1 day after the first dose, I feel relief. Generally, no side effects, other than some stomach upset and sometimes slight nausea. Understanding antibiotics kill all the good bacteria in your GI system, I don't think there is an antibiotic that won't give you GI symptoms. Without a doubt, take this with food, and the side effects are not as bad. Affordable, easy, effective."

For Chlamydia Infection "The largest inconvenience about this drug for me was trying to read everyone else’s negative review before I took the 1-gram dose, and I had anxiety about it for HOURS before I realized taking this will do good. The only side effects I had from this drug were some watery stools and some intestinal noise. Whoever is reading this, you’re probably scared to take it because you never have and wanted to know. Unless you have heart problems or other medications known to react with this: it is safe to take, and for the love of Odin, take it with a lot of food and water. Friends of mine once had to take it too, and they said they felt no different. You will be alright. You may experience stomach issues and nausea for a little bit, but all in all, you will survive. You got this! I gave the medication a 7 because, again, anxiety over all of the horror stories."

For Chlamydia Infection "I'm sharing this to dim the fear in everyone's head from the rest of these comments. I took this medication because I found out I had chlamydia. I was extremely anxious because I have horrendous allergies to a lot of antibiotics. I had four 250g white pills in the clinic free of charge and expected the worst. So, I took the medication at 9:30 in the morning. By 10, I felt like I was gonna throw up but didn't, the nausea lasted 30 mins max. I got home by 11, went straight to bed, woke up around 2, and was fine. It's currently the next day, and I have had one dump (not diarrhea), and I've had no other issues. There's hope after all! Enjoy being chlamydia-free, everyone."

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed the 500 mg pill 1x a day for 3 days (for my sinus infection). I took pill #1 at 2 pm with my lunch. By 5 pm, my stomach started to gurgle and groan. By 6 pm, the diarrhea started. It was awful! I say it's a nightmare second only to the colonoscopy prep kit I had six months ago! I must've been on the toilet 6x in an hour and a half. I was cold, shivering, nauseated, and exhausted. I'm absolutely not continuing this treatment. :("

Azithromycin for Chlamydia Infection "Took this last week under the directions of my pharmacist. I ate a full dinner (burger and some veg) and waited 45 minutes to an hour before taking my 4 large pink pills. My pharmacist and my doctor both recommended staying away from dairy in the meal before I took the pills. Went to bed feeling a little nauseous, but that could have been nerves because of all the reviews on here. I slept through the night, totally fine. No diarrhea, no vomiting. Got my lab results back this morning, and I'm in the clear."

For Chlamydia Infection "Week after hookup, found out I had Chlamydia when my pee started burning and constantly discharging a white pus. Was prescribed this medication as a single dose, took on a Sunday afternoon, minor stomach grumbling, then an unpleasant headache at night which felt like intense pressure/fever and put me to sleep. Woke up next day, headache was gone, and by end of day, started to notice improvement in burning while peeing. By day 3, discharge was much more infrequent and burning pee was almost gone, nowhere near as intense. By Friday, which was day 6, burning pee was gone and no discharge at all, life was back to normal, lol. Never had any diarrhea or uncontrollable stomach pain, just a little nauseated the first 24 hours. Very effective med for me."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "I have been on this for three days now with the five-pack dose (250 mg). The first day I had to take two, and I threw them up because I had nothing in my stomach. If you take this, eat something before you take the dose. I'm on day three now, and I feel no pain, but my tonsils still look the same. Will it eventually die down? I now have a pretty bad cough, along with a lot of sinuses in my head."

For Chlamydia Infection "OK, had to write a review after seeing so many horror stories. My side effects were minimal, about an hour and a half after taking the 4 tablets at once, as prescribed, my stomach hurt and I felt only a little sick. I laid in bed and just rode it out by napping. When I woke up, I had one minor episode of diarrhea, and then, done. It was definitely nothing like some of the bad experiences I've read on here. Many folks review because they had a bad experience, and folks who have no side effects tend to not care enough to report their non-eventful experience. Keep that in mind if you're nervous! Definitely worth the 30 minutes of a little stomach ache to make yourself healthy. Just eat beforehand and after, you will be solid. It was no big deal."

For Chlamydia Infection "If you were embarrassed about getting chlamydia, consider that this is my second time getting it. That aside, the first time I took azithromycin, I was so scared about the high dosage and nausea that I could barely eat before taking it. I had just some plain bread and water and slept. I had one loose BM in the morning, and that was it. This second time, I felt confident enough to eat a full meal beforehand and woke up feeling bloated, nauseous, and terrible. It passed in about an hour, and then I was fine. Again, one loose BM in the morning and nothing since then. Only complaint is how long azithromycin took to clear my chlamydia symptoms, it took over a week last time, and I’m so itchy already that I’m going a little crazy. It’s day three since my dose, and I can’t wait for it to kick in completely."

For Chlamydia Infection "I took 4 doses of this today, all at once, for chlamydia, as I am infected. I took 4 250 mg doses. I looked on this website before taking to find out side effects and other people's experiences, and I was absolutely terrified of taking them. But I took them anyway, obviously, as I want rid of the infection. I took them at about 9 o'clock this morning, and I have had absolutely no side effects whatsoever. No dizziness, no stomach pain, no diarrhea. I have had a bit of nausea, but I put that down to being because I was hungry, so I ate and felt fine. I hope that it is as effective as I have been told. I will post an update in a week or two when I receive results, hopefully they will be negative."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "I have been on Zithromax twice for an upper respiratory tract infection, and both times I was as sick as a dog. Constant runs (comes on fast), nausea, bloating, flatulence, aches, chills; basically feeling like I had a bad flu without the fever. I felt better just having the chest infection. :-P Use this drug only if milder medications do not work!"
