Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I used to take a high dosage time-release tablet of another drug. If I took it when I woke up, say 8 o'clock, I would inevitably go through an anxious and depressing period every day around 5 p.m. My psychiatrist prescribed me Adderall XR and Adderall to see if I wouldn't go through this down period. I am so much happier now. Adderall permits me to be focused, less impulsive, and organized while lessening the side effects, which I got with the other drug. I have an appetite, but am not an impulsive eater."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Switched from Concerta to Mydayis for the longer duration mechanism Mydayis offers. Was started on 25 mg of Mydayis. ADD symptoms improved, but I experienced dry mouth, dizziness, heart increase, and appetite decrease, which subsided after the first week. Second week, I felt like the dose was not effective. Doc switched me to 37.5 mg of Mydayis, and so far symptoms of ADD improved, but side effects are rough. Dry mouth, headache, dizziness, lack of appetite, increased anxiety. I’m on day 4 or 5, so hoping the side effects subside when my body adjusts to the higher dose... fingers crossed."

For ADHD "I have been on Adderall 10 mg for three months now. I have found it helps me so much in the morning. I need to talk to my doctor and see if I can get something for the afternoon. It's been a godsend, but I don't have any anger issues, just a lot of anxiety. I'm on Xanax as well, three times a day, and Ambien for sleep, which really helps. Bed by 5 o'clock, I'm worn out. And then my symptoms seem to return. I would recommend this to anyone that has concentration issues. I'm 41 years old, and when I went to school, they always called me slow, which always made me look bad. I think my doctor is wonderful, and I'm going to get my Xanax upped and see if I can get something for the afternoon due to the fact that I work many hours a day and I have to be on my toes."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Great when combined with Adderall (immediate release). I stay focused and organized, have consistent energy, and even speak more professionally at work. Con: tightness in chest/anxiety on doses higher than 5 mg. I seem to be highly sensitive to the XR, so I take 5 mg three times a day with Adderall (immediate release) 10 mg."

For ADHD "I’ve taken Adderall for years. I used to be on Lannett brand, and Walgreens recently switched to TEVA. I had my script switched from CVS to Walgreens because it was closer to me. I have been on it for 3 months, and the side effects are terrible. I clench my teeth so bad my teeth have broken, I am severely depressed, I can’t find happiness in literally anything. I don’t feel motivated at all. If anything, I feel less motivated to get out of bed. My skin is dry, my eyes are sinking in, and I get terrible migraines. My anxiety is so bad I’m antisocial, and I thought I had a stroke because of side effects. I’m 25. Just don’t take it."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am 21, I'm studying physics, and I have been on Adderall for almost 2 years now. I started at 15 mg, and I am now at 25 mg. It was good the first year, very effective. But now, I don't think it really helps. I feel sleepy with it, and I lose attention very quickly. I don't think the dose is the problem, I feel the effect, and I think that increasing the dose will augment the anxiety caused by it (I noticed that each time I had to increase the doses, the side effects were worse). I'm going to return to Ritalin tonight, it was way more effective. Or maybe another one with methylphenidate. Concerta didn't work for me, maybe Biphentin should."

For ADHD "I began taking Adderall XR generic, and it has helped so much. I take 20 mg, and it has helped me become so clear. I'm able to hear things and pay attention at work. I only take it when I work (three times a week), and it just helps me keep myself together. No more forgetting stuff and appearing incompetent. It works for my severe ADHD, and I am so happy I finally have a solution. It has even calmed my anxiety. Helped me tremendously."

For ADHD "What is up with these generic manufacturers? I know by law manufacturers are allowed to deviate a little regarding the active ingredient, which is amphetamine salts and fillers. Well, AmMcneal Pharma Adderall sucks. I think they mix their active ingredients wrong. I think they put too much L-amphetamine as opposed to D-amph because McNeal one makes me jittery as anything. That’s the L-amph that makes you jittery. When I take Teva Pharma, I feel great and no jitteriness. I have tried other generic manufacturers, and it’s hit or miss. Teva, for me, is the best."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have ADD caused by major depressive disorder, and stimulants have done wonders for me! However, Adderall makes me feel very anxious and panicky, and I don't like it at all. It lasts a long time, and sometimes I can't sleep at night because of it. Overall, it's an alright choice. Might switch back to Vyvanse."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I began taking this before I began any other medication. It made me more anxious and nervous. It also seemed to increase my OCD (the 'pure O' form) by making me more prone to think about my OCD. It did help me to focus on occasions, but it also made me focus on my anxieties and obsessions as well. My therapist told me that stimulants like this one and Concerta are not good for people with anxiety disorders (almost all of them), unless they have anxiety because they cannot focus and accomplish necessary tasks. I recommend talking to a counselor or psychologist/psychiatrist before being prescribed stimulants for ADHD."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "If I could give this medication 11 points, I would. No serious side effects, and I appreciate that it lasts 16 hours with minimal “crash.” When I take it, I take it with valerian root (Valerin) to avoid the anxiety, and at night, I take magnesium for sleep. I like to take a 1-day break (advice from my psych) in order to avoid my body getting used to it and having to then increase the dose. Read how it works (3 different beads), and you will be impressed. I’m lucky that my insurance covers it, so I have a small copay."

For ADHD "Lannett 30 mg capsules (ELi-515) have made me severely depressed and anxious. Impaired thinking, blurry vision, can't sleep or focus or get energy are just a few side effects. I see a lot of you are in a similar boat. If you can relate, please fill out an FDA online consumer report form."

For ADHD "As the above suggests, my whole life I was a little terror. After going through a severe depression stage in my early teens and plummeting grades through high school (I always got the 'she's very smart but never does her homework), I am finally on the right track. This drug actually helps to control my anxiety and mood, as well as accomplish the tasks at hand. For the first time, I don't feel overwhelmed when I look at all the things I need to do."

For ADHD "I was just prescribed amphetamine/dextroamphetamine R 351 20 mg for ADD. The first day I took it at 11 am yesterday, I felt extremely tense and uncomfortable, the exact opposite of what I thought it was going to be. Then, at about 12 am, I had a very bad headache, couldn't go to sleep until 4 am, woke up, and took half and just felt out of it all day. No energy, no increased focus. I was just wondering if anyone else is on the same drug??? Because all pictures of this drug online look orange and pink and blue, which is kind of strange because I got it from a clinic, not a regular doctor's office. I don't even know if I want to take it tomorrow because of the negative side effects, feeling kind of hopeless at this point. Hopefully, someone has some info."

"I take it off-label for major depression. After approx 10 years of little to no relief taking a myriad of anti-depressants and attempting suicide 3 times, I was prescribed Adderall. I had reached a point where I simply could not pull myself out of bed anymore. The depression was crippling in every sense of the word. I feel like myself again. I am no longer overwhelmed by just the thought of the most menial task. I can actually get out of bed and be productive. It does not make me “high” or feel nervous or antsy. I feel normal. The only complaint I have is that it is very difficult to get this prescription filled. I am constantly told by pharmacies that they are out of stock or on back order. It can be a hassle. But at the end of the day, I remind myself that my life is better with this drug. I hope to eventually get to a point where I do not need it anymore, but right now I can say wholeheartedly that it has saved my life."

For ADHD "I was put on amphetamine and dextroamphetamine 30 mg. I took it for a little over a year. I wish I never had. DON'T TAKE IT. You don't need it. The answer to your problem is in the food you are eating, not the dead/poisonous pill that is hurting you more. This drug made me lose a considerable amount of weight (too much), and I was puking green bile because my gallbladder and liver couldn't function properly. Since I got off the drug, I gained weight back that has taken a year and a half to start to lose. I am now recovering from heart palpitations and breathing problems that I never had before the drug. It changed my behavior and made me severely depressed and anxious. Thank goodness my body can heal... so can yours. I've been off it for 2 years, and my body is just starting to recover from the damage that it caused. Please know that there is a better answer. You don't have to take this drug. And you don't have to suffer either."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I'm 54 years old and was on Adderall a while ago and stopped. I thought I was addicted. I'm back on it-20 mg a day. It helps me to focus mostly while on the computer and while reading. I find that I'm getting severe mood swings, and it makes me extremely nervous. People tend to notice my nervousness and have commented. I probably need a smaller dose."
