Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Mydayis 50mg has worked great for me. It did take a week or so for me to notice any real benefits. The first day, I was a bit on edge. Then, I was slightly depressed for about a week. It wasn’t major depression, just a general “down” feeling. After the second week, I have seemed more focused. My energy and motivation seem to be increasing slightly. This drug has a very smooth transition. I don't crash or have periods of high heart rates and anxiety. I was on Adderall 30mg previously. I also have tried Vyvanse and Concerta in the past with poor results."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This medication is to my brain like glasses are to a pair of eyes with poor, blurry vision. Personally, this medication is what works best for me. It isn't perfect, but it is better than nothing. I have ADHD inattentive type, and I also have social anxiety. I understand, this is a stimulant, so of course, it will make my anxiety worse. But I feel more motivated and more confident in myself and my abilities. I resent taking this every day, but I make sure to take this prior to school or work or any day I need to deal with responsibilities. Also, take it after you eat breakfast if you can. For me, the benefits outshine the negatives."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I started taking Mydayis 25 mg 5 days ago, and I really like it so far. I was on Vyvanse for the last 3 years and eventually built up a tolerance to it. I like how Mydayis doesn't give me that 'nervous, heart-racing' feeling like Adderall and some of the other drugs do. It's not going to give you an intense rush but provides a steady, long-lasting feeling of alertness and focus. It doesn't affect my appetite, sleep, or mood."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "I have taken Adderall XR for years now. I have MS, and as a result, I have hypersomnia, which is very similar to narcolepsy. For years, I took Provigil alone for this, and it was great. But eventually, Provigil was no longer enough to keep me awake. My doctor tried me on Adderall XR, and it was amazing. I was able to stay awake all day long and felt great. I never had any real jitteriness. It does make me have almost no appetite at all, ever. Mostly, I just don't think about eating, it doesn't really occur to me, and when I do eat, I can't eat much. But having been obese most of my life, this hasn't exactly been a problem!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am 32 years old. On ADD meds since 3rd grade. Was on 30 mg XR Adderall in am & 10 mg Adderall at lunch. Doctor recommended Mydayis based off lasting period. He prescribed 25 mg. 1 month in, great, not to mention I was able to fall asleep for the first time in my life without taking a sleep aid. But after 1 month, all hell broke loose. Began to notice an odd feeling of like flat line, not happy, not sad. I then got this odd feeling in my chest about 2 p.m. every day plus anxious. Contacted doc & he said it worked great month 1, so let's bump it down to 12.5 mg. Did nothing, called the doc back & said I wanted bumped back up. I am now on day 3 of taking the 25 mg & I am short of breath & I have almost a hollow feeling in my chest starting at approximately noon. I'm clenching my teeth, feel irritable & anxious. I've tried Ritalin, Concerta, XR Adderall & Adderall. Recommendations for someone that has taken a lot, and none of the other meds mentioned above have worked?"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I know that the same medication can affect people very differently. I have been on Adderall for years (started as a kid, and I'm 24 now), and it is so, so helpful for me. Don't get scared off by all the bad reviews, I feel for those people, and I'm sorry they had a bad experience, and I hope they have a good medicine that works best for them now, but not everyone has bad experiences. It helps me focus and actually HELPS me socially to interact better with people, feel more confident, listen better, but most importantly, impulse control, to slow down and think before I speak. I don't feel jittery on it at all. It helps me relax and take better control of my thoughts and think clearly. I have anxiety, and Adderall helps me feel a lot less anxious too!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was in 3rd grade and went through just about every medication. I have anxiety, and some medications really made it worse. Now 18 and in college, I've been on Adderall 20 mg extended release for 3 years, and every once in a while, I take a 'tolerance break.' Taking a break from it really does help when you go back to using it. Take it early in the day, or else you will most likely be awake until late hours of the night."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have been taking 50 mg of Mydayis for a few months now, and I have been happy with my experience on this medicine. I have been on several regimens, including Vyvanse 70 + Dexedrine 10 booster, Adderall XR + Dexedrine 10 booster, Adderall XR + Adderall 10 booster, Focalin XR, etc., but I decided to give Mydayis a go since my new insurance has it covered on its formulary ($50 a month copay). Like others have said, this drug runs in the background, but I find it much more consistent and way longer acting than Adderall XR and even longer than Vyvanse, which only lasted 6 hours max for me. I take it at 5:30 am and feel the medicine until about 5 pm (~10 hours, give or take). Mydayis is less anxiety-provoking, but I still feel like my ADHD symptoms are controlled around the clock, and yet at the same time, I feel more like myself than I did strung out on the other medicines. If you’re looking for an option that lasts a long while and your insurance will help pay for it, I think it’s a good option."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have suffered with ADHD since I was a young kid. I got diagnosed at the youngest age possible, and I never got any help for it from my old doctor. With my new doctor, he gave me Adderall XR to start out with 10 and then upped it to 20 within a week if not effective. I am on 20 mg now, and it has changed my life. I failed school and life because I couldn't pay attention, and now not only can I pay attention, but this has also helped as my ADHD had caused depression, anxiety, and also OCD."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I take 50 mg of Mydayis in the morning every day. It takes a little bit of time to kick in, but when it does, I can focus and behave like a normally functioning human being. When I was taking Adderall XR twice a day, I could barely get my work done and had a lot of trouble staying on task. I take it with a low dose of clonazepam to help with my anxiety that was there long before I started taking Adderall. Some people don't understand why a person would need medications like this, and I just want to say that it's all about quality of life. I could not thrive without this med."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I was recently put on Adderall for ADD. I have suffered ever since I can remember with not being able to focus on anything, having a wandering mind, and doing very poorly in school. I began to just think school wasn't for me. I had heard many negatives on Adderall, and that is why I never asked my doctor if it would be an option for me. He suggested I give it a try, and now I am on 10 mg every day/as needed, and I feel better than I have in years. It has helped my depression/anxiety as well. I am happy to learn now and attend school. Wonderful drug for me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "I gave Adderall an 8 out of 10 because it is very effective. Anyone who is narcoleptic (which is why I use this medicine) will stay awake completely. Depending on the dosage, you can stay awake anywhere from 5 hours to even more than 12. The downside to this medicine, and let me be clear that it is just with my experience, is that it can make you jittery and excited. It also gave me 'false confidence' and just overall made me more outgoing than I usually am. Also, I found that the first time I used it, it gave me quite a high, which I eventually got used to. After several days, I started hallucinating things and got paranoid. There are definitely some psychological side effects even more than the ones that I've experienced."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "The first month I took this was perfect. Better focus, better moods, more productive, and was able to process info better. Then I got my refill, and things got bad. Those particular ones messed with my breathing, made my mind race, so focusing was even harder than before I ever took meds for focus, horrible anxiety, and paranoia. I know these two prescriptions were technically supposed to be the same, but they certainly were not the same! This stuff felt like either completely different medicine or it was made from some dirty, dirt cheap ingredients. They were both Actavis, but something just wasn't right with that refill. I didn't even go a full week taking those. I felt heartbroken because the first one worked so well."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am 18 years old, and I'm here to share my experience. Like many people say, this medication works miracles at first. I was now doing everything ADHD/mild depression and social anxiety stopped me from doing. Once I progressed towards the sixth month, problems slowly started coming up, and day by day, you fall back into where you started. If you keep going, you'll get even worse. The feelings of depression, anger, and anxiety are almost unreal, and it causes me to take the medication and do nothing but lay in bed instead of being energized, although it could be the 6 hours of sleep every night adding up. Tips for beginners: take weekends off, eat, drink, and sleep."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I started taking Adderall in 2012 to 2015 with a 15-month break in 2014 due to pregnancy and breastfeeding. I was diagnosed with ADD as a child but held off on taking medication until I was 26. Adderall immediately helped with focus and even energy and motivation. I excelled at work and finally was able to complete tasks instead of starting them and trailing off to something else. In 2015, when I discontinued Adderall, I was taking a pretty high prescribed dose of 30 mg twice a day. I started noticing the cons of the come downs were outweighing the pros of when the medication was working. I had anxiety, irritability, and extreme fatigue. They switched me to Dex, which was much smoother but has increased my BP. I try Vyvanse tomorrow."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Not at all what I expected. Have used Vyvanse with success, but went back to Adderall, more flexibility dosing. Can take a second dose during the day if necessary, or not. Mydayis takes an unusually long time to kick in. Have found that I am much more irritable, foggy, and have experienced feelings of being overwhelmed at work doing things that I normally handle day in and day out with no problem. I am, for the most part, easygoing, everything seems to annoy me since I began using Mydayis. Also, have experienced headaches during lag times, body aches, and flu-like symptoms. A lot of the time, I feel worse than I do unmedicated. Do not like Mydayis at all. Will not be refilling."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Side effects: dry mouth, anxiety (if used when tired), euphoria, hyperfocus (when dose too high). Adderall allows me to concentrate and study for a reasonable amount of time while also offering flexibility on when I use it; both XR and short-release are quick in-and-out drugs, unlike SSRIs. My performance improved dramatically with the use of Adderall, but there were definitely a few cons. Hyperfocus is a huge problem that eluded me for a few months. Because Adderall affects the brain, it distorts the user's reality. I felt that I was getting a lot done, and it wasn't until my colleagues at work told me that I was garbage at multitasking that I realized my dose was too high. Beware of this. Focus =/= productivity."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have always known I was intelligent and a doer, but I could never finish a project or classwork without starting another (2-3 really!) projects. Therefore, I would always get depressed and feel worthless. I couldn't handle small talk and had extreme anxiety when I had to go to church because I couldn't sit still for more than 20-30 minutes without wanting to burst. My mom always found ways to teach me to calm myself down in different situations, but she didn't understand how bad it was. She also didn't believe in medicating her children. I wish I could describe what my first five employers said about me when I left their companies. I will just say this: Adderall XR 20 mg once in the morning has seriously made the difference in my life."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This medication has completely changed my life. Without it, I feel like I am not complete. Twisted, I feel like I can accomplish anything. Without it, I sleep and have no motivation, suffer from depression, anxiety, no social skills. With it, my whole social outlook changed, I am no longer shy and not shying away from social encounters. It is definitely a miracle."

For ADHD "I've had a prescription for amphetamine with dextroamphetamine for four years, and Teva used to work fairly well for me. Over the last year or so, it's become awful. I know it isn't me, because I still have old (2-3 years) pills laying around; I tried some of them and they work just fine. Teva changed something in the manufacturing process. The new pills do almost nothing beneficial (I feel sleepy all day), but they have a ton of side effects. I feel very jittery, my stomach hurts, and I've been experiencing bloating."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with narcolepsy after about 5 years-1995 to 2000. A sleep study doctor diagnosed me as having this disorder. After trying methylphenidate and then Provigil, I still had EDS. I even had a doctor prescribe Desoxyn, which didn't help. Adderall XR also was not effective enough, so I was prescribed 30 mg of Adderall I.R. once a day. Narcolepsy causes sleep deprivation, causing anxiety, depression, and nights of no sleep at all. Most doctors hesitate to prescribe medication for these side effects. I finally found that Belsomra helps on those sleepless nights. Adderall is not the 'magic bullet' by itself, and the stigma of having to take Adderall, Klonopin, Wellbutrin, and Belsomra gives narcoleptics anxiety and fear to ask physicians to prescribe medications that almost make us feel normal."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have struggled with ADHD throughout my entire life, and even simple tasks like cleaning my room have been challenging for me. I was initially prescribed Concerta in 1st grade, and I continued taking medication until I finished high school. However, I decided to take a break from medication during that time. Now that ADHD is affecting my adult life, I wanted to get back on medication. In 2021, I was prescribed Adderall IR, and it worked like a miracle. All of my problems seemed to be resolved, and every day felt like a blessing. However, my general doctor was no longer able to prescribe Adderall, so I had to find a psychiatrist who accepted my insurance. It took months to find one, but eventually, I got prescribed 20 mg of Adderall XR. On the first day of taking it, I experienced its effects, but they only lasted for about 3 hours. I found this to be strange but didn't think much of it. In the following days, I noticed very little to no change in my symptoms. Instead, I started experiencing a rapid heart rate, stomach pains, and anxiety, which I had never felt before. During the two-month supply of Adderall prescribed by my general doctor, it seems that there may have been a substitution of ingredients. These new symptoms have left me concerned and uncertain about the medication's effectiveness. I believe it's important to discuss these issues with my psychiatrist and explore other options that may better suit my needs."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Wellbutrin did nothing for me, and Strattera caused erectile dysfunction and significant sleep disorders. My doctor slowly increased my Adderall XR dosage until I hit the 'sweet spot,' which was 30 mg for me. 40 mg made me a little jittery and anxious. In the correct dosage, Adderall has improved my quality of life with no side effects. I should note that if I miss a day, I am fine, but any longer without it and I become lethargic - so remember to refill your prescription as soon as you can, so you don't run out. I take the generic of this drug, and it works great."
