Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I’ve been on Adderall XR 20 mg since October 6th, 2020. I have to say this medication is life-changing and your psychiatrist, doctor, or whatever will try and find the right dosage for you. I’m 22 years old, male, and I noticed the medication working within an hour. I’m about 220 pounds, 5’8”, and despite that, it still kicked in relatively fast. The side effects I notice the most are as follows: dry mouth, appetite suppression, some irritability, and insomnia on occasion. Adderall XR for me lasts anywhere from 8-12 hours. If it wears off, the medical professional, in most cases, will add Adderall IR to take in the afternoon since upping the dose of XR will not increase duration, only the intensity of the medication itself. ADHD medication is all about finding what’s right for YOU, don’t give up if it doesn’t get manageable or fixed after the first try."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "At a dose of only 10 mg, Adderall XR has not only given me motivation and focus I have never had before, but I am significantly less anxious and emotional. My mind is quieter, I do not feel like giving up as soon as I feel a sense of failure or rejection, and overall, I am a lot happier. When I first started taking Adderall, I did experience side effects of dry mouth and a loss of appetite, but these went away after a week. I can no longer drink anything with more caffeine than black tea on this medication, though, as I get heart palpitations and jitters when I do so. One major word of advice I have is do not expect medication to magically fix all of your ADHD symptoms. Adderall does not know what tasks are important or not. If it kicks in while you are watching YouTube, you will be stuck on YouTube for the next 5 hours. You must teach yourself time management skills and work on your discipline in order to reach your full potential on Adderall, or any ADHD medication."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I take 20mg Adderall XR daily for ADHD. I feel extremely productive, focused, and proactive while on it. My first day taking it, I usually am a normal eater. I could only eat a sandwich bag of pretzels before losing any appetite. That night, despite eating almost nothing, I biked 21 miles (my standard biking route) without stopping in record time, without even feeling exhausted. Now, each day I take it, I feel very intelligent and concentrated, and come up with ideas easily, as well as feeling great all the time. In my opinion, Adderall is the greatest thing to grace humankind, and I would suggest it to anybody who has difficulty focusing, especially if you are overweight. I lost 25 lbs in my first 3 months taking it, though."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I have been taking Mydayis 25mg for 2 months, and I have experienced ZERO negative side effects. I was previously prescribed Adderall XR & IR and Vyvanse. Those medications were somewhat effective; however, they came with a lot of side effects (loss of appetite, moodiness, insomnia, heart palpitations, dry mouth, dry skin, and anxiousness). The best thing about Mydayis is the way in which it feels 'natural' and the way it steadily tapers off throughout the day. With previous medications, I could actually feel the effects coming and going and I would get these sensations of feeling 'high.' With Mydayis, I never actually FEEL the medication taking effect, but I can tell a HUGE difference in my performance, mood, and ability to focus. I even feel relaxed, as if my mind can finally make sense of racing thoughts and feelings. I usually take my medication around 8 AM and I am easily able to fall asleep by 11 PM. With Mydayis, My Day Is manageable!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've only been taking it for 3 days, but I can understand now when people say they feel it running in the background. So far, no side effects other than appetite loss. I do feel energy from this, but not like Adderall, there's no anxiety tied to the energy. It's more like motivation than energy. One thing I've noticed is that I like to always be doing something productive in some way. It's not the type of energy you get and use to dance or work out, you feel driven to get things done. It lasts for the whole 16 hours, which surprised me, I'm an ultra-rapid metabolizer. I have no crash on this like I did with Adderall. I'm just waiting for my period now to see how the cramps are and giving the medicine more time to see if I do have any side effects. So far, none, but no appetite."

For Fatigue "Please be careful with this drug -- it is incredibly easy to abuse/get addicted to. However, chronic fatigue (CFS) has next to no treatments/cures, so my doctor started me on Adderall (instant release, 20mg) 2 years ago. (Note: I have never increased my dose and probably never will.) CFS can make you feel like you're useless because you're so tired you feel useless to society. You feel like your life slips away from you slowly, and you start to blame yourself and become depressed because of it. Adderall helps me to live and actually enjoy my life. I think we all deserve that much. Side effects for me are mild but: slight social awkwardness, decreased appetite, unstable blood sugar, fast heartbeat, some anxiety, dry eyes. Still worth it for me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I am diagnosed with Concurrent Concussion Syndrome with ADD symptoms. I took Vyvanse for over a year, and I thought I loved it, until I realized it gave me anxiety because I was trying to cram 16 hours' worth of homework and chores into the short period of time the medication worked. My neurologist had me switch to taking Mydayis, and I have loved it because I do not feel the 'high' that Vyvanse gives you, and in turn, I also do not feel the medication slowing down either. Now, I still take it at 5:30 am, but I can do homework or concentrate on other tasks well past 8 or 9 pm. Advantages: - long-lasting - continuous feeling throughout the day (no ups and downs) Disadvantages: - makes me not feel hungry - loss of appetite can make low blood sugar hit me all at once if I forget to eat - if I sleep in on the weekends, I can't take it because it will last too long. Hope my experience helps! I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for longer-lasting stimulants, but I know that everyone reacts to things differently, so it might not work for you."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've tried several ADHD meds, and Mydayis has definitely been the best for me. I'm on the lowest dose, and it starts working 20-30 minutes after I take it. I'm then able to be productive and direct my focus easily, compared to other meds (e.g., Adderall), which gave me a burst of intense focus that I had no control over. The transitions are barely noticeable, and it really helps maintain consistent energy levels. After wearing off, it's a very natural 'I've worked all day, and now I'm ready to relax before bed' feeling (no crash). I also noticed it significantly helps manage my depression-something no other ADHD med has done. The only downsides: (1) it does reduce my appetite a lot, and (2) it only lasts about 9-10 hours on my current dose (12.5 mg), but higher doses (25 mg+) give me headaches. It's not perfect, but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives for me. Lastly, you don't know how it'll affect you, so don't let reviews scare you away if you/your doc think it might help."

For Fatigue "I have been through about all anti-depressants, mood stabilizers, and anti-psychotics for my severe treatment-resistant depression, and this medicine amphetamine/dextroamphetamine has saved me. Honestly, I have horrible anxiety as well. I have chronic PTSD and generalized anxiety disorder. This medicine calms my nerves as well. I can actually take naps during the day now when I need to instead of not being able to rest. It helps my impulsiveness from my bipolar disorder that is included in my schizoaffective diagnosis. I may have to deal with the hallucinations, but this medicine is the only medicine that works for me in the most positive way. For me, it has way less severe side effects than any medicine I have tried. It mainly helps with my energy levels, which helps my depression because I feel more useful. I also am more social, which helps my confidence. The only thing I struggle with is the lack of appetite, and it seems like water goes right through me. But it is definitely a lifesaver for me."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "ADD is NOT a made-up condition. I'm 26. Without Adderall/Vyvanse, I have no mental energy or focus to do anything. And it has been this way my entire life. School has gone from being an F and D student to being an A and B student. It has nothing to do with 'being lazy' and everything to do with having a real chemical imbalance in the brain. Anyways, I have been full-time for 2 years until 7 weeks ago. I convinced myself it wasn't working anymore and I didn't need it. Big mistake! I am ready to start up again next week. I can feel the old me coming back, the me I hated. If you truly have ADD/ADHD, this will change your life for the better. Some negatives are sleeping less, decreased appetite, and often weak erections on it (despite high libido)."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been taking Adderall since my sophomore year of high school, and I'm about halfway through college now. When I first started taking it, I went from D's and F's to straight A's. I loved everything. I wanted to learn everything. I also lost about twenty pounds just from the loss of appetite. But now that I've been on it for a few years, when I don't take it, the withdrawals hit so hard. I can't even remember what the real person I was before I started taking it. My appetite skyrockets, and I don't want to do anything but sit around all day. No motivation. I love being on it and being so productive, but sometimes I get so overly focused I get really irritable with people around me."

For Fatigue "I could cry with joy! I used to sleep all day, with crippling physical/mental fatigue. After 7 years of being ignored by MDs, I found a pdoc who takes me seriously. Prescribed Modafinil but insurance wouldn't p. auth. Ritalin lost effect after ~2 days. Adderall IR made me so angry I screamed/swore at people (I never do that). Progressed from 10mg XR in am to 30 (currently). Kicks in after ~1 hour & keeps me awake/alert til evening. Also struggle with severe MDD & body dysmorphia & adderall gives me some hope & makes me hate the girl in the mirror less. Only side effects: slightly raised heart beat & loss of appetite. No trouble falling asleep. Please consider XR if you struggle with fatigue/MDD & your pdoc thinks it's a good idea."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I got diagnosed with ADHD at 26, however, I showed signs of the condition my entire life. I was put on Adderall, and yes, my entire life changed because I had an answer. The medication is a love-hate relationship. The side effects include no appetite, dry mouth, upset stomach (upon first taking the medicine), and cold hands and feet. However, the benefits are life-changing. I can focus on work/school, daily chores aren't impossible, and my impulse control has improved significantly. I take 15 mg IR in the morning and 10 mg IR in the afternoon (previously have been on combos of IR and XR as well). This medication is life-changing for those who truly struggle with ADHD."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been taking Adderall for roughly two years now. I could honestly say it has helped me so much. Having A.D.D. my whole life, it completely made my life out of control. I only realized how much of my issues were connected to having A.D.D. until I took my medication, I cannot even explain. It's insane sometimes, it even got me emotional thinking about it because I would say to everyone around me, 'Is this how people without A.D.D. feel?' and think, 'Wow, I missed out on so much.' Luckily, I can say everything has changed. I graduated high school, found myself a job, totally different group of friends, even the way I interact and feel about myself has totally changed. I would have given it a 10/10, but my loss of appetite and inability to sleep sucks, but pros outweigh the cons."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I've been taking Adderall XR 25 mg for going on my 4th month. It has helped me tremendously! I'm more focused and alert now. I don't feel as drawn out like I used to. I'm also on anxiety medicine, taking both helps balance myself. I have a hard time wanting to eat since I've started taking Adderall. A lot of times I have to force myself to eat, but it has helped me lose 25 pounds! I find myself grinding my teeth a lot, not sure why, but that's the worst side effect I experience from taking it. I feel healthier now than I have in a long time, I will continue taking this medication."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I’ve been on Mydayis @37.5 mg for a year now, and I really liked this med over the others I’d taken. Before Mydayis, I tried Vyvanse, Focalin, and Concerta, and while all of them caused decreased appetite and weight loss, Mydayis never makes me crash or feel anxious, so it’s the best one so far. It gives me a big boost of energy, and I can get a lot of work done (a little obsessively, but still). Warning though, the withdrawal symptoms for me are god awful. If I miss a dose, I will sleep non-stop (multiple 3+ hour naps throughout the day) and eat just about anything in sight. Generally though, Mydayis has been a very good fit for me, and I wouldn’t be able to keep up academically without it. I know a lot of people don’t do well on this ADHD med, and it definitely isn’t for everyone, but I really would try it if you’re struggling to find a good fit! Kicks in very fast and lasts all day."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This drug has changed my life. It has allowed me to focus not only on my job but also on things at home that need attention. I feel smarter, I can think better and clearer. I find I tend to make lists and start checking things off the list as they are accomplished. I never start something and do not finish it as I did before. I look forward to it. I enjoy work more. I feel less stress and anxiety. I do not feel it is habit-forming. There have been times when I have forgotten to take it and I did not notice it. The only difference is, normally when I have taken the drug I don't have an appetite, and when I forget to take it I tend to eat a lot."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I started taking Mydayis 25 mg 5 days ago, and I really like it so far. I was on Vyvanse for the last 3 years and eventually built up a tolerance to it. I like how Mydayis doesn't give me that 'nervous, heart-racing' feeling like Adderall and some of the other drugs do. It's not going to give you an intense rush but provides a steady, long-lasting feeling of alertness and focus. It doesn't affect my appetite, sleep, or mood."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for Narcolepsy "I have taken Adderall XR for years now. I have MS, and as a result, I have hypersomnia, which is very similar to narcolepsy. For years, I took Provigil alone for this, and it was great. But eventually, Provigil was no longer enough to keep me awake. My doctor tried me on Adderall XR, and it was amazing. I was able to stay awake all day long and felt great. I never had any real jitteriness. It does make me have almost no appetite at all, ever. Mostly, I just don't think about eating, it doesn't really occur to me, and when I do eat, I can't eat much. But having been obese most of my life, this hasn't exactly been a problem!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "Started off with Concerta in May 2012, it was not effective at all. Switched over to Adderall XR 10 mg in July 2012 for seven days as a starter dose, then started Adderall XR 20 mg. I noticed a considerable difference between the two medicines instantly. I am able to focus for a very long period of time without being distracted. My grades improved exceptionally, I went from receiving grades below 55% to now my lowest grade being 83%. The benefits of this medicine do outweigh the side effects for me. I noticed 20 minutes after taking Adderall, I have increased bowel movements, lower libido, and decreased appetite. I stop taking Adderall during breaks and long weekends. The first day not on it, I am extremely tired. Exercising and eating healthy helps."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I would like to say that Adderall really works. It helps me concentrate and get things done. My mind doesn't race, and I am able to focus. I do experience dry mouth and loss of appetite. I was experiencing a lot of headaches when I first started taking it, and they would be migraines starting from my temple to the pressure in my eye. I did a self-experiment before I completely stopped taking the medicine and began to drink two glasses of water: one before my pill, then wait 10 minutes and drink another glass of water with the pill. Throughout the day, I kept drinking water, and I have no more headaches. Drink water all day!"

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "This has helped me a lot, but I have a couple of tips. There are different brands that people will react differently to (I thought they would all act the same, but no). I had a bad reaction with the first generic brand I tried, tried a different generic brand, and had a better experience. So look into that because not everyone believes that there's such a difference between different brands, but to me there was. Second, I'm overweight and thought, 'Decreased appetite? Good!' but I would advise to still make sure you're eating frequently enough. Food has such an impact on brain functioning, so not eating for 6 hours because you didn't feel like it is a bad habit to start! Once I got those slight issues settled, this drug really helped. Just be smart."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "My son had been on Adderall XR (25 mg) for well over 6 years, and it has really worked well for him. I would say the only side effect that was difficult to deal with was the lack of appetite. However, after hitting the teenage years, it has fallen back into normal teenage young man trying to eat everything, lol. On a very good note: my son finished his 8th grade year with A's and B's, as well as a 3.4 GPA, and is now looking forward to attending high school in the fall."

Amphetamine / dextroamphetamine for ADHD "I started out taking the regular Adderall version, but it didn't last long and made me have horrible crash periods and steroid-like rages. So far, the Adderall XR seems to be working better, but it does reduce my appetite substantially. I've had to start taking weight gain supplements to ensure that I maintain my proper weight. If I miss a dose, I feel pretty lethargic and extremely sleepy. However, the medication has allowed me to read and focus better than I ever have, and I seem more motivated. I'm also able to talk better with others, and my social skills have definitely improved."

I'm glad it only lasts for a certain time, 6-8 hours. I have zero appetite on the medicine and lost 15 lbs in two weeks when I started these pills. Aggression is increased. Adderall is amazing.
