For Dental Abscess "Very painful mouth abscess infection. Doc says I need a tooth extracted. Was put on 500 mg amoxicillin, and within 12 hours, the pain has already subsided greatly, down to basically non-existent. Tooth will get pulled in 2 days, and I'll continue and finish the 7-day treatment of amoxicillin. No side effects whatsoever."

For Dental Abscess "Amoxicillin really does work for severe toothache/infection! At first, you're going to feel as if it doesn't work, but take ibuprofen along with the antibiotics, and it will do the trick. Two weeks ago, I was in so much pain that I had a panic attack and had to go to the emergency room for it. Now I'm back to normal, eating a little bit normally."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm 17 years old and have been using amoxicillin for the last month to keep my abscess tooth infection down. I have never had to drain my tooth at all. It works great with no side effects for me. I did get a little bit of diarrhea, but not much at all. No pain anywhere. Now, you do need to know that everyone's body will react differently to amoxicillin, so please don't go by what the reviews say. Test it out for yourself."

For Bacterial Infection "All weekend I've been in agony with toothache. I was climbing the walls with the pain I was in. Being 9 months pregnant too, not a lot I can take for pain. Only paracetamol, which never touched it. Managed to get an appointment with my dentist and he said I have got abscesses inside the tooth. He prescribed amoxicillin 250 mg, 3 a day. Took the 1st one straight after the dentist at 12 pm, the pain was still there and was killing me. By the time I took the second one, the pain eased loads. Don't know if it's the amoxicillin or not, but what a relief, so I'll sleep better tonight. I think it's the amoxicillin doing its job."

Amoxicillin for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Suffered from heartburn and peptic ulcers every day and night for more than 30 years. An older doctor treated the root cause, not the symptoms, with amoxicillin & Carafate. I haven't used any antacids for more than 5 years now, and have been enjoying all the foods I like, whenever I like. Thank God for old doctors."

For Bacterial Infection "I'm taking it for my gum infection, 500 mg caps 3x a day. The first two days on the medication, the side effects were pretty bad: extremely dizzy, sleep disturbance, headache, super strong appetite, dysphoria, severe indigestion, and extreme nausea. I'm now on day 3 of 7, and my mouth pain caused by an infection in my gums is gone. I'm still experiencing side effects, but they are at a level 3 or 4 instead of a 9 on the first day. I am so grateful to have found this new dentist. Another dentist gave me a different antibiotic a few months ago for the same issue, and it didn't work at all. I really hope this one fully gets rid of the infection. I can't believe how fast it worked!"

For Dental Abscess "I am pregnant, two of my bottom molars crumbled away due to pregnancy. I’ve been in agony for two months, both molars open, nerves exposed. NHS refusing to treat me because of COVID-19. I can’t eat properly, have indigestion because of poorly chewed food and severe pain day after day. I am absolutely exhausted as I can’t sleep, the pain triples at night and all I am left with as pregnant is paracetamol. Now they both got infected, the gums have been red for a long time, the constant pain indescribable. All they gave me was amoxicillin, which after four days has made it only ten times worse. I am in tears all day long, and at night I am almost fainting from the pain, struggling to breathe. I can’t even lie down or turn my head, I just want to scream. I have never been this desperate and sore. The dentist I got to speak to over the phone wasn’t even sure if the antibiotics were going to work, but gave me a choice of nothing or that. Then suggested I do my own filling at home with a home filling kit."

For Bacterial Infection "I had three 20+ yr old crowns replaced on 3 molars. Within 4 days after delivery of the new permanent crowns, I started getting signs of an infection (I was not able to put pressure on one of the teeth) of the old root canal under the newly replaced crowned tooth. I saw a dentist on the first available day after regular x-rays did not show anything, he did a CT scan, and it showed an infection on one of the roots. I was diagnosed with an old root canal infection and was prescribed amoxicillin with ibuprofen. My diagnosis is pretty much having lost the infected tooth. At this point, 7 days later and on the last day of taking my prescription, 500 mg 3 times a day - all of my symptoms are gone. Pain subsided on the initial day of taking it with a big dose of ibuprofen. Day 2, no pain, but soreness was still present. Day 3, no pain, little soreness, and the ability to chew on that infected tooth. Now on day 7, anything associated with the root canal infection is gone."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I’ve taken this drug many, many times since I was a kid. I took it a lot for strep throat, as well as before dental procedures. I recently took it for a UTI, and it worked within a day. No side effects at all. All medication comes with risks, but this is a better choice than fluoroquinolones or some of the other types of antibiotics on the market. Take a probiotic with it, and assuming you don’t have an allergy, you should be fine."

For Dental Abscess "I had severe jaw pain a week ago. The pain was so bad I couldn't sleep, eat, etc., and I ended up in the E.R. I was prescribed amoxicillin. At first, I felt like it wasn't helping because the pain was still so bad. I'm now on my 3rd day, and the pain isn't as bad, but taking anti-inflammatory and Tylenol does help a lot as well. The only thing is that all the pills I was prescribed to take, the doses hurt my stomach a lot, so now I'm on another medication to help with it. But overall, amoxicillin does work, just give it a bit of time."

For Dental Abscess "We are in the middle of COVID-19 quarantine. All dentists are closed, and I ended up having my root-canalled first molar infected. I developed a periapical abscess just a few mm above my tooth on the gum. It started collecting pus on it. The dentist put me on amoxicillin antibiotics for 5 days, but I still felt tingling/throbbing in the tooth, so she said to take one more 5-day dose, which is two pills a day. I used the ones that dissolve in the water. Now I am here 2 days after I finished my antibiotics. The dentist said to keep in touch 3-4 days later if my face would swell up. I hope not, but I feel a weird feeling from my tooth to my ear. Hopefully, the infection has cleared. The abscess hasn't filled for at least 24 hours, so keeping my fingers crossed, but I am really worried =("

For Dental Abscess "After being in agony after my filling, I was wondering why my tooth was still hurting after a filling. After going back to the dentist a few days later, the X-ray showed I had a slight infection near the nerve of the tooth causing it to cause me tremendous amounts of pain. I was prescribed this amoxicillin and started taking it that day. I have taken 2 of my 3 tablets so far on day one, and I can say the pain has gone considerably. For the first time in a week, I am happy again. I really hope this sorts the infection right out, but so far, so good!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I’ve taken Amoxicillin many times for a UTI. It gives me a good amount of relief within 6-8 hours. The burning sensation and the bladder spasms usually subside within that time frame. I don’t experience many side effects except for occasional mild nausea and an annoying yeast infection. Those side effects are very common. I’ve also taken this for tonsil issues, and it helps tremendously. There aren’t many antibiotics I can take, but this is one of my favorites for my lupus-induced UTIs."

For Dental Abscess "The pain on the upper right side teeth was due to eating trail mix, which had huge walnuts and almonds. In assuming pieces of the nuts may have cut my gums, there was now a huge swollen pocket of gum hanging in that corner inside my mouth, causing not only pain there, but it traveled to the jaw, then neck. I phoned my dentist, who called in amoxicillin for me. The swollen ‘beehive’ pocket went down the next day, and it was steadily decreasing. Pain gone. No side effects. Working for me."

For Dental Abscess "I had one of my teeth infected twice since 2018. I went to a dentist, it was infected, but the dentist told me to take it out, which was a good idea. Unfortunately, I didn’t agree. The first time I took the amoxicillin antibiotics, it’s amazing. It killed all the bacterial infections I had. Then I felt better. Now it’s 2020. I got another infection in the same tooth with COVID-19. I could only go to an emergency dentist, which was okay. They took an X-ray. I got an infection, the tooth is dead, not worth it to keep. I was going to take it out, it’s charging more money. Plus, I got my insurance, and they don’t take it. I ended up with amoxicillin 500 mg. It’s the best. It took pain away, which was unbearable. But when I chew, the upper surface touches the lower one where the infection is, while squeezing the food. My nerve, ahh, my God, it gets me to a pain again. So the bottom line is amoxicillin is the best still."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "Amoxicillin 500 mg every 8 hours makes my strep throat gone. Today is the 3rd day of my medication, and I feel so normal. I felt a little bit of dizziness because of the side effect of the med, but it's normal. Thank you!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "Only used this to cure my UTI so it wouldn't spread to a kidney infection. But the side effects are absolutely horrific! I can't deal with this much longer. I'm supposed to take 500 mg/3x a day for 7 days, but I'm cutting it short. I'll do it for 5 days because it's day 3, and I already want to stop it. My side effects: • All day long nausea • Extreme constipation • Abdominal cramping/pain from the gas trapped and constipation • Difficulty fluctuating • NO appetite whatsoever, every food sounds disgusting and hard to eat • Anxiety and fear mixed with deep sadness • Fatigued and weak • Feeling like I'm slowly dying but trying to make it through each day, day by day • Debilitating - I hardly want to go out and do anything, need to sit out a lot."

For Bacterial Infection "I never liked the dentist and haven't gone for 35 years. About 25 years ago, my gums would bleed every time I brushed or ate something. I would wake up every day with blood in my mouth and on my pillow. I would brush every day, but the bleeding would still go on. I got bit by my cat 2 months ago, and the doctor put me on amoxicillin for 7 days. My gums are great now. I brush and floss 3 times a day and no more bleeding!! 25 years of misery until my cat bit my big toe!"

For Bacterial Infection "Taking amoxicillin for a tooth infection, the first day of taking it was horrible. The tooth hurt more than it did before I started, but I think that was the drug doing its job trying to fight off the infection. Second day, same situation, still more pain. The third day was great, finally no more pain from the toothache! Pain-free. Only thing is I woke up with swollen gums. Side effects from this drug are hard to bear, especially for me since I work 9-9. I was very tired on a daily basis, my body was weak, stomach pain, woke up in the middle of the night not being able to sleep. I mean, side effects were horrible, but I only had to take this drug for 7 days until I was able to get the tooth pulled. Thank God."

For Bacterial Infection "Have IBS, recently got worse, so was given this antibiotic in case I had an infection. Felt fine day 1, day 2 began to feel nauseous, abdominal pains, acid reflux, extremely tired, loss of appetite, headache, and feeling very ill in general. I was taking 3x 500g every day but only managed to get to day 2 till I stopped. Wouldn’t recommend this antibiotic if you already have stomach problems!!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I am 87 and was one of the first to use penicillin for strep throat. Still today, in any format, best for me. All other antibiotics cause severe constipation for me. At this very moment, writing this, I am suffering because they gave me a different antibiotic for a UTI infection. It will never happen again, believe me."

For Bacterial Infection "I got put on these today as I got a really bad abscess around my gum and tooth. My left cheek is so swollen I can't swallow or eat anything. I've taken the first 3, but nothing has changed. Seems like it's getting worse. Maybe it's just me and it's too soon to tell, but no side effects for me whatsoever, just makes me a bit sleepy. This is probably the worst thing I've ever experienced-so bloody painful and uncomfortable."

For Bacterial Infection "This drug was really effective in getting rid of my infection, but the side effects were difficult to deal with. The tablets made me so exhausted I really struggled to stay awake all day. My eyes would droop at my desk, and I felt lightheaded and dizzy. I found it extremely hard to concentrate. I had to leave work early taking this tablet because I could not focus, and many times, when my colleagues helped drive me home, they had to help me walk to the car because I was so weak and unfocused I couldn't walk in a straight line. I also felt nauseous for most of the day and had mild stomach cramps. It was wonderful for the infection I had, but it was the hardest week coping with the exhaustion and drowsiness."

For Dental Abscess "Six months ago, I went to the dentist in regard to my back bottom molar. Took it for 3 days for pain to become manageable. Well, it went away until I started eating my celery sticks once more (munch, munch, munch), then again, on amoxicillin, every time my top back molar touches that bad tooth, I see birds flying around my head, not robins, but blackbirds, okay, not literally. Immense pain, taken max dose of paracetamol, did nothing! I took ibucalm - got 2 hours of sleep but woke, realizing my back upper teeth were grinding on the 'PAINFUL TOOTH' at the bottom. I've got panda eyes. Lost 3 lbs, 45 mins after soup, the pain goes CRAZY. Once, I had a slice of bread and I nearly went to war on myself when I chewed on the back tooth. I'm in agony, sometimes I want to cry, other times I want to smash things up, and when I've taken ibucalm, I get to watch a bit of TV. My poor tummy isn't used to this starvation. My weight scales, however, are delighted. Wishing HEALING on everyone. I know Day 5, I should feel human again."

For Bacterial Infection "I have had a bad toothache for a few days, and by the fourth day, I thought I was going to die!! My ear and tooth/crown were hurting like I have never felt before. My dentist called in amoxicillin, and after one day I FEEL better!! This works well for an infected tooth. I promise you that!"
