For Back Pain "Do not accept these rubbish brands! You don't have to go to CVS, Walgreens, or Walmart. Just find an independent pharmacy as I have done, and they were kind enough to order me the Cara brand, and I said I would cover out of pocket if my insurance didn't cover it. Do not accept useless pain meds! We are human beings, and it's not our fault about the opioid crisis!"

For Back Pain "Over the past six months, I can't find any other brand of acetaminophen and hydrocodone but these new pills by Mallinckrodt, and similar. Definitely, this is the government and big pharma trying to curb the opioid epidemic without telling anyone. Who can afford a lawyer big enough to dig into this? Cardinal Health is now a 50-50 partner with CVS, and Cardinal regulates what drugs get distributed to all pharmacies. I heard this from two pharmacists directly. They took away their right to choose order-specific manufacturers. Imagine the money they're making by not even putting the active ingredient in these pills and selling them for the same price. They know that you're going to be treated as if you're a drug addict if you say anything. The only recourse you do have is to complain through the proper channels. That's about like saying you want your tax rate lowered for your income bracket! Unfortunately, people with true chronic pain issues are suffering because they don't fix the issue of addiction."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Ok so I agree with everyone about the changes to the pain pill formula. I have tried RP, and Mallinckrodt brand and they do absolutely nothing as far as giving me the overall pain relief. No real relief as they had before like Watson. Mallinckrodt used to be good but that was a long time ago. It’s almost like - might as well take an Aleve and a Tylenol. Problem with that is I have to take a lot of those often and then my kidneys and liver are hurting. Trashed my body even more. Mallinckrodt is better pain relief but nothing much better than Tylenol. There may be some formula out there to avoid the euphoria effect but without triggering that, it doesn't offer any of the pain benefits. Kind of like - have to have both or you get an alternative that does not actually work. But. Then people don't overdose so I get that also... Might be good for the addicts to stop but when I can't open a jar without excruciating pain or lift my arm, something has to give here. These brands all suck!"

For Back Pain "I don’t know exactly what’s being put into the acetaminophen and hydrocodone pills these days, but I can clearly see that I’m not the only one that knows something is just not right! But please, people, listen to me when I tell you this: asking different pharmacies what the manufacturer of the pills they carry and asking if they have a different manufacturer of the medication can only get you barred from that location. Take it from me because I have one option in pharmacies these days that will fill my prescription. It’s crazy to me that you’re looked at as an addict if you want a specific generic that works for you. I mean, when did wanting to be pain-free make you a druggy (or junkie as I was referred to as)? But I feel like asking too many questions puts you on the 'do not fill' list, so tread carefully, people, or you may not be able to get anything. Much love, and I wish you all luck in a search for a life with no pain."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I have had surgery to replace my fractured C5 vertebrae with bone harvested from my hip; I have had back surgery to replace a disk; and I have had spinal fusion surgery. I now have arthritis in my hand and shoulder. I have taken Norco 10s for the pain over the years and have found them to be highly effective with no side effects or withdrawal symptoms. My doctor prescribed Norco 10 for my arthritis, but the only medication the pharmacies in my area carry is manufactured by Mallinckrodt, and they are terrible! They don't reduce the pain AT ALL, but they're GREAT at making me nauseous. If your doctor prescribes generic Norco 10s by manufacturer Mallinckrodt, don't bother - the product is worthless."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was born with a gene called HLAB27+. I have arthritis and connective tissue disorder. As a child, I tried to play but got tired and it was too painful to stay up for long periods of time. I stayed in bed a lot. I tried to ride bikes with my friends as a teen but struggled. It wasn't until a doctor put me on pain meds in my 40s that I felt relief for the first time. Now the medical field is trying to reverse this decision. They need to hear the other side from people who have been helped. It is not our fault if people misuse their medication. I really do not believe this is the cause of the epidemic. Drunk drivers are caused by drinking too much and driving. If you don't drink excessively and don't drive while drinking, then there's no issue. The same applies here. I truly had no life before this pain medicine."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I have had a severe back injury and have been off work since Nov '06. I was first on Vicodin, which didn't work anymore, so they put me on Norco to manage the pain. It works wonders, and I take 1-2 every 4 hours. However, it has become very habit-forming, and I don't see an easy end to trying to cut back or get off these pills. They work great for pain, but be careful!"

For Pain "I have Fibromyalgia, neck herniated discs, plantar fasciitis. What is going on? They've been changing the generics, so they don't work. Why are they doing this to us? We are not the criminal junkies overdosing on illegal drugs. I have been taking the same Tris Pharmaceutical brand of acetaminophen with hydrocodone for several years at work okay until last year they changed it, so now it does not work. I know they changed it because I had some old pills left and they looked different. I got my new prescription and it's even worse than it was before. I am devastated. I have to support myself and I won't be able to with this pain being untreated. I can no longer clean my home or care for my sick cat. I am scared to death. Why is the government doing this to us? We need to file a complaint with the drug manufacturer and FDA. Maybe enough people are not complaining to the FDA and that is why all these companies have gotten away with it for so many years, as this all started about 6 years ago, when the Watson brand changed from yellow to white. Please file an FDA complaint."

For Back Pain "I've been on Watson acetaminophen/hydrocodone 10/325 for the last 8 years and it has been the best medication that has worked, then out of the blue this Mallinckrodt acetaminophen/hydrocodone brand came along, along with the medication not working nearly as well and having an upset stomach and Walgreens does not do damn thing about it. I'm stuck taking something that does not work and corporate America does not care about the little people, they just care about making more money."

For Pain "Are all of you that are complaining about Mallinckrodt? Have you already filed complaints with the FDA? I sure hope so because that's the only way they will be stopped. So, sure, complain here BUT PLEASE FILE COMPLAINTS TO THE FDA! Also, do complaints on Tris. They changed their formula and it no longer works, this is sickening! I am gonna be homeless as I had to quit my job due to no pain relief! I know they changed it because I had saved a few pills from the prior month and when I took even HALF, I felt a night and day difference. Yet I called Tris, and they lie and say nothing changed. They are doing something probably illegal, and it also makes my heart race. They are playing with people's health and lives, and it's sickening."

For Back Pain "I've had multiple back surgeries, fusions with hardware a few months back. The past 2 months, CVS changed to Lupin acetaminophen/hydrocodone 10 mg. I've had no relief from this medication and went through withdrawals for a couple of days. I actually thought I had COVID but tested negative. I found hydrocodone in my medicine cabinet from my last surgery that I tried and had solid pain relief for almost 6 hours. Whatever these manufacturers are putting on the market is complete garbage. I'm going back to my doctor Tuesday to see if she can switch me to oxycodone or change to a brand name."

For Back Pain "I am so done with this generic hydrocodone. It does absolutely nothing for my pain, and I don't understand how this medicine is even allowed on the market. There is no way in Hattiesburg there's more than 1 mg of hydrocodone in the 10 mg tablets. This stuff just makes me sick-ish and sleepy. Years ago, it always worked, heck, a half of one worked. Now, 2 won't even work. There is not one generic on the market today that is worth taking. If your doctor prescribes this for your pain, you're pretty much going to suffer in pain like me. I know I'm not the only one, as I know others who have had this med for pain issues, and it didn't work for them either. Absolute garbage, the U.S. FDA is garbage as well to allow this."

For Pain "I just got a script yesterday for the 1st time for these generic pills acetaminophen & hydrocodone. I've been taking 10/325 Norco's for over 6 years due to all my health issues along with OxyContin. I totally feel the difference with these pills. The yellow ones are actually the best I have ever taken, but these are garbage like everyone is saying. I just don't know how to file a complaint? Good luck everyone!"

For Pain "I'm part of the acetaminophen with hydrocodone generic saga. I have had the same bad experience with Lupin brand of acetaminophen with hydrocodone. I've been a long-time, non-addict user of Hydrocodone for my Ehlers-Danlos pain. Recently, I got my first bottle of Lupin's acetaminophen/hydrocodone from CVS and went into withdrawal, increased pain, and my Mast Cell Disorder spiked. Two weeks later I was back to my normal manufacturer and went back to my normal. Today I got Lupin meds again and I'm tanking. This manufacturer is not providing the correct dosage and should be removed from the market."

For Pain "Like everyone else, I was on Watson brand till they sold out. Mallinckrodt is now what every major pharmacy has in our town of 200,000: Walmart, CVS, HEB, to name a few. First of all, if you call trying to find another brand, they treat you like a drug addict. I'm 70 years old, a retired teacher. What is this country coming to when you can't buy a pain reliever that works but you can get all the marijuana you need? The manufacturer of this Mallinckrodt should be investigated. No one in the government seems to care. Big surprise! I have a prescription for brand name only - guess what? The pharmacy won't even order the brand name. I still don't understand that, so you can't order the brand name. Someone answer that one."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've had back pain for years. Then I started getting really bad pain in my knee and found out I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and Osteoarthritis and I'm only 28 years old. I have been on Lortab 10/500 for 6 years. Then I started going to a pain specialist and I'm now on Tramadol ER 300mg 1x a day and Norco 10/325 4-6x a day and it works miracles. I also take the muscle relaxer Flexeril, and it helps very well too. I still have pain, but I always will for the rest of my life because of my arthritis. But these medicines make life much better."

For Back Pain "Just picked up my script for generic Norco. Pharmacy filled it with the M366 (Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals brand), I’ve been trying to figure out why these pain meds aren’t controlling my pain. Spinal fusion, degenerative disc disease, spurs on my disc etc. after reading all the reviews, I now know why it’s not working! It’s trash! I took a pill 2 hours ago and still waiting for pain relief! Ugh!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I have severe Fibromyalgia with migraine/tension headaches and Chronic Fatigue. I also have osteoarthritis in my hips and lower back. I've already had one SI joint fusion. I am on disability because of the Fibromyalgia. I have used Norco 10/325 for several years. It controls the pain well, and at this point, I am able to manage with only 1-2 tablets a day. I have to manage my pain to be able to function, otherwise, depression sets in with the pain, and I just want to stay in bed. I may be somewhat dependent on Norco now, but it's worth it to have a life."

For Back Pain "I have been on Hydrocodone 10/325 for a couple of years due to back pain and now the need for hip replacement. About two weeks ago my wife and I switched our meds to a local Costco. My Hydrocodone was filled on the 10th of January and I began using it. The manufacturer that I had been on was from Actavis but Costco uses Aurobindo. I have noticed almost NO PAIN RELIEF from this manufacturer's brand of Hydrocodone. Further, I have had extreme sensitivity to light. After reading all of these other reports, I am convinced that Aurobindo, who now has purchased Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, is producing and selling sub-par meds and will continue to do so until a recall is issued."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been on Vicodin, Norco, Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen off and on for about 11 years with RA, PA, AS, fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, DDD, neuropathy... well, let’s just say my spine is a mess and causing the rest of my body problems. I was on Watson brand at first 5/500 and even 7.5/750, and they worked great. I only took one every 8 hours, even though I was prescribed one every 6. In the last year or so, I was switched to U03. I have noticed that I am taking them every 6, and I’m even taking my Neurontin (gabapentin 300) more often than I was. I really do agree with a lot of the reviews that there is a new formula or something being implemented by the FDA because I can take one and barely feel the relief I always used to. I know it’s taking the edge off, so I know it’s got something in it!"

For Pain "I did a little 'investigating' a few years ago about this. I found that some of these manufacturers are legally able to put a certain percentage of the active ingredient in some of these meds. So, some people might get 85% of the active ingredient while others may get 90, 95, 100%.... I also found many, many pharmacies don't even carry brand name, only generic. I also found that they can charge more for 325 mg of the APAP than they do for 300 mg of the same. Or maybe it's the other way around.... Anyway, you get the gist.... I've also found that some pharmacists or techs look all googly-eyed at you if you ask for name brand, like you were stabbing a kitten at their cash register or something. And they have basically more say-so than your doctor. I've simply decided to take BC powders and have my insides eaten up. I don't have insurance. I hope good people aren't being made to suffer needlessly."

For Pain "Shocked that I have been taking generic Norco (acetaminophen with hydrocodone) and wondering why IT ISN’T HELPING. I used to get enough relief with the Watson brand to function enough, but that changed in [maybe] 2018. I didn’t know why, and I thought I just had to suffer to the point of being bedridden. I wasn’t aware of the change in manufacturer until now. Mallinckrodt brand of acetaminophen and hydrocodone DOESN’T WORK. I cannot believe that doctors are prescribing this new brand of garbage and allowing severely debilitating pain patients to suffer. I am so glad that I looked at the label on my generic Norco today. Thank you to everyone here who took the time to write about this maddening situation. Thank you so much."

For Pain "I have tried a lot of brands of different pain meds for my migraines. Both hydrocodone and oxycodone. There are so many fake medications going around. Not just opiates, heart medication, diabetic meds, blood clot meds, etc. Currently I am getting the A 40 10/325 made by KVK. They are a hit and miss. Some pills will work and others won't, and they are the same pills in the same prescription bottle received from the pharmacy! They even dissolve differently. Some won't melt if you have to hold them in your mouth a second to get a drink, others will melt into a foamy/chalky substance almost instantly! These pharmacies are being allowed to buy from other countries that are not regulated nor have clean working conditions. They sell medicine for dirt cheap and most meds are fake and either have less than the active ingredient or none of it. Even worse, they are allowed to put any fillers or binders they want in it and OUR PHARMACEUTICALS ARE BUYING THEM TO SAVE MONEY AND COSTING PEOPLE THEIR LIVES!"
