Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I did 6 years of active duty with the army as an infantry soldier. I've been in the Iraq war in 2004 and the war in Afghanistan in 2006. During combat, I've been in 6 IED explosions. A gunshot through my left shin, nerve damage to my whole right hand. Compressed 3 discs and shattered 1 in my lower back. I have Traumatic brain injury which causes horrible migraines. I've been on everything since 2007...OxyContin 80mg, 30mg Roxys, 125mg fentanyl patches, morphine 60mgs, etc. Currently, I'm on 10/325 Norco 6 times a day. I've grown dependent and tolerant to opiates. But Norco is by far the best medicine to make my chronic pain tolerable. And the side effects are close to none. I highly recommend this for chronic pain."

For Pain "Aurobindo hydrocodone 10mg/325 is NOT AB rated for USA consumption. My opinion: it is a placebo, sugar pill with bad ingredients. Do not use Mallinckrodt. The solution is to order through your pharmacy Vicodin HP 10/300 bottles of 100. Your MD has to write specifically for this product made by Abbott in Chicago. The difference in an AB rated product is huge and meets all bioavailability requirements by the FDA."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I had cancer and an autoimmune disorder which ended with several surgeries and resulted in a lot of generalized pain. My doc prescribed Norco 5/325 three times a day then had to double the dose. Mallinckrodt was the pharmaceutical manufacturer. This medicine absolutely did nothing for pain and actually caused other issues such as GI problems including abdominal cramps and nausea. After switching to another brand, my pain was relieved significantly and no abdominal issues. As a medical professional, I do not recommend this manufacturer EVER."

For Back Pain "The real truth! They're messing with your pain pills, America! Pain pills are completely different than what they used to be. They're changing them to prevent abuse. In turn, now they're not working. Every brand is doing it. This is why you can't find relief anywhere. They're punishing you people with real pain issues because of abusers' actions. Which should be completely illegal. I guarantee anybody with more power than me could have these things inspected, and probably could win in a court setting. Someone with more power than me needs to stand up for us people with real pain issues. Facts!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I changed pharmacies from Walgreens to CVS. I had my prescription filled, and it’s a different brand, G037 acetaminophen/hydrocodone. This brand is making me sick. I was taking M367 acetaminophen/hydrocodone, and it worked well, just enough to get me through the day. They need to fix this because people will want to move up to something stronger. Something definitely is wrong with the medicine."

For Pain "I have severe 50-degree upper scoliosis and 40-degree lower scoliosis. I've used Par/Qualitest brand 10/325 and it worked awesome. This Mallinckrodt brand of acetaminophen and hydrocodone is awful! I agree with EVERYONE on this comment. We NEED PAR/QUALITEST brand back and dump Mallinckrodt! Now because of all the pain pills being wrongly used by people, us poor suffering people with proof of our conditions, we are SUFFERING! Something has got to change! We NEED relief and Mallinckrodt brings none! Where's Qualitest?"

For Pain "My GYN prescribed this for me on 4/2/20, for ovarian cysts as he's done a couple of other times in the past, when the ER doesn't want to help with pain control. I'm in pain management & despite my pain Dr ok'ing me receiving pain meds in emergency situations, from Dr's other than him, some ER Dr's don't want to be bothered with my quality of life & doing the right thing. In the past, I'm not sure who the manufacturer was, but, it was effective. With this particular brand, Mallinckrodt, it's not as effective & I've noticed it feels like I've taken some sort of sedative. This hasn't happened before & when I looked this up & found these reviews, I knew I had to share my experience. I also looked up Mallinckrodt & read where they've been in some legal trouble for ethical behavior concerning another one of their meds, so, I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't putting the correct doses of ingredients in these."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "With brand Norco or Watson Hydrocodone at one a day, I experienced occasional itchy nose, occasional mild nausea, occasional constipation. Now at six Mallinckrodt brand Hydrocodone, I have no side effects. Along with minimal pain relief. Billions of dollars are being spent on these inferior drugs. People's money, insurance companies, taxpayers' money in the trash, and people suffering! What a joke the FDA is. Time for a federal lawsuit against the FDA and Mallinckrodt, as well as anyone else who stood by while this is going on. This is not the solution to a few bad apples that misuse/abuse their medication. There are many more people who have been using it responsibly, and it's not hard to distinguish the addicts from the people who want to be able to live their lives without agony and depression from constant pain. It may be sad when abusers overdose, but it's worse when honest, deserving patients give up due to no pain relief."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "For years, I took brand Norco (acetaminophen/hydrocodone) when it was manufactured by Watson. When the drug went off-patent, many companies jumped in to manufacture generic versions of the drug. At one time, Watson was manufacturing a generic, which was great since it was exactly the same as the brand, but Watson was bought out, and it's impossible to know (except through trial and error) whether the purchaser is using the Watson 'recipe.' As for generics, acetaminophen with hydrocodone, for me, the generic Norco manufactured by Aurobindo has been excellent, as has that manufactured by Mallinckrodt and Rhodes. I have also been able to take the generic manufactured by Tris with what is usually adequate pain relief (but not as good as Aurobindo, Mallinckrodt, or Rhodes). The generic that I absolutely cannot take is Amneal - it's like not taking anything at all. I'm not sure why, as all of these drugs should have the same amount of opiate in them, but I might as well not fill the prescription if the generic is Amneal."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "It pains me to see my mother suffer, to have been naive enough that I believed all generics are created equal and to have accused her of addiction and abusing her medicine. For a 10-month period in 2021, she had a better generic and her emotional, physical, and social health exceeded what I had assumed possible. Now back on bad generics, she is yellow, lethargic, and incoherent as well as needing more to ease pain. FDA do your job, you’re damaging my mother."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "I used to take the 10/325 'yellow' pills, but now most pharmacies dispense white pills made by Watson, Mallinckrodt (“M”) or Amneal. Watson worked best for me, but not as well as the yellow pills. Walgreens just signed a contract with M and that's all they carry now. I can definitively say this past month has been awful. The M brand did not help my pain and made me very irritable. It's as if M put out a placebo or sugar pill. I refuse to take more pills due to the lack of efficacy of the M pills. I learned independent pharmacies often carry several brands at one time. One near me carries three -- including PAR (the yellow ones!) I hate to sound excited, but I thought they stopped making those and have been suffering through sub-par (pun intended) substitutions. The pharmacist told me Par costs twice as much to order than other brands. My guess is that's because it actually works. If you find a brand that works for your body, it can definitely improve quality of life."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "Manufacturers of opioid pain relief medications must have gotten orders from healthcare leaders to reformulate these lifesaving medications. There is a recent drastic change in how they work, and the cause most likely is they want you to ask for a higher dosage to label you, which does no good due to the reformulation. Legitimate pain patients should just keep complaining to elected officials. Farmland states' Department of Health may have different priorities because of the physical work needed for farm work. Bottom line, if you have daily pain because of a career in daily physical labor jobs with radiological images and medical proof of the pain condition, healthcare leaders couldn't care less."

For Pain "I have 2 degrees in nursing and have been taking the yellow Norco for well over 15 years. Sometimes I only take 1/2 pill and obtain relief. CVS has changed the manufacturer to Lupin. Probably cheaper, stockholders will be happy but I am not. Minimal pain relief. I picked them up on the 22nd and am so angry. If I knew where I could get these generics analyzed, I would do it. Now that I get no pain relief and I have Part D insurance through CVS, I will be dumping them during open enrollment and hopefully find one that is honorable. Osteoarthritis. Shame on CVS!"

For Pain "I truly believe the FDA and the pharmaceutical companies are working together to make our hydrocodone pills less effective. I have been taking two 10/325 hydrocodone pills per day for the last several years since I have psoriatic arthritis. At first, I was able to get the yellow Par pills and they worked really great! When I moved to FL, I could only get the Watson brand and they worked pretty well. In Sept 2018, Walgreens switched to TRIS and they are horrible. Then I tried the Mallinckrodt from Walmart and they're worthless. Then 3 months ago, I tried Aurobindo from Costco and found them to work pretty well. However, I picked up my latest prescription on Thursday and they must have changed the ingredients as now they offer no pain relief at all. I agree with the folks who have written that we need to complain to the FDA concerning the quality of the hydrocodone pills we are receiving. This is extremely upsetting that there isn't one single brand available to help with our pain!"

For Back Pain "Me Arthritis, torn L3, neck nerve damage, sciatica, bullet in leg lodged between the nerve/bone. Recently had spinal fusion surgery, titanium rods inserted in spine. Taking Percocet 10/325 and Norco 10/325 for breakthrough pain. The MANUFACTURER DOES MATTER. I made it CLEAR to the pharmacist I will only take Endocet MANUFACTURER with the Percocet and EYWA MANUFACTURER for the Norco. I won't leave the pharmacy until I check. Comments about manufacturers, you are NOT crazy or imagining things. These foreign discounted suppliers are causing problems for hard-working, tax-paying TRUE PAIN SUFFERERS like us with their knockoff brands. We ALL need to write to the FDA and get a petition going. Not to mention the addicts who want to shoot and snort these pills, then again WE SUFFER! I have a great doctor & pharmacist, thank God, who knows MY PAIN IS REAL and my medication lasts me from one appointment to the next, random urine tests prove it. To my family of pain sufferers, may we ALL have long-lasting relief very soon! MRS. JONES"

For Pain "My pain issues are Severe Congenital Spinal Stenosis of Cervical and Lumbar, Degenerative Disc Disease, Scoliosis, and peripheral neuropathy. The stenosis is causing my spine to flatten. I'm new to writing reviews, so please bear with me. My pain management doctor prescribed Norco 10/325. I've always received the brand Lupin Pharmaceuticals, which relieves my pain tremendously. Until recently, I was given Amneal Pharma and today Mallinckrodt Pharma, both from my CVS Pharmacy. These two companies are distributing trash! If I were to submit Lupin Pharmaceuticals Norco, Amneal, and Mallinckrodt to a chemist, he/she would respond with the same results. Those companies, Amneal and Mallinckrodt, are using some type of fillers that have caused their pain medication to be worse than a baby aspirin! It shouldn't matter what company manufactures Norco. They should all be the same, however, that's not the case! They'll end up causing people to take more than prescribed because there's no pain relief! Quit screwing with pain medication! How do these people sleep at night knowing their product is junk! Thank you Lupin Pharmaceuticals for not being part of the monopoly the government has created for patients with chronic pain!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I have been taking Norco for a while, and the manufacturer was Actavis. They really didn't help that much. Well, I just got another prescription filled, and Walgreens changed the manufacturer again to Mallinckrodt, and they do nothing at all but give me pains in my stomach and a slight headache. I wish these manufacturers would stop playing around with the ingredients. We are in pain and need something effective for pain, not the ineffective ones we are getting now."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "Norco worked pretty well for me at the right dose and when rx'd with muscle relaxers. However, I was originally rx'd long-acting opioids because I had liver damage due to Halothane toxicity and taking a single-ingredient opioid was safer. With the new 'guidelines,' I can't even find a doctor who's okay with rxing Norco so I'm back to taking high doses of acetaminophen. The govt has really screwed chronic pain patients."

For Pain "Those with concerns regarding current generic pain medications are not imagining anything. After a gunshot left me with debilitating pain close to 20 years ago, I was hesitant to begin opioid therapy. I was initially given numerous non-opiate meds to try and control the pain (Elavil, Neurontin, etc). After a few years, I ultimately ended up being prescribed Norco 10/325. Norco 10/325 worked wonders for me for years. All of a sudden, around the end of 2017, I filled my prescription and was notified that the pharmacy carries a new 'manufacturer's' brand. Ok, I thought no big deal, right? Well, it was a very big deal. That first generic I tried did zero except make me nauseous, so I changed pharmacies. The 2nd generic just made me feel weird & anxious. I stuck with the 3rd generic, Mallinckrodt, which is okay sometimes (very hit & miss, no stability). My physician has offered to prescribe me stronger meds, and despite my hesitation, I may need to change. Best of luck to you all!"

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I switched from Rite Aid and the useless Mallinckrodt (Malincrap) brand to an independent pharmacy that sells the yellow 3601 Norco in October. I couldn't believe it, but I only need 2 a day to control my pain. The next 3 months, the same yellow Norco had decreased in pain relief to the point that my most recent script was total garbage. Same pills but different shipment. Complained to the pharmacy and now I'm filing a complaint with the FDA. People must file written complaints for the FDA to investigate. PHAR P, that's the brand."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Pain "It seems the physical dimensions of the product have changed with the formula. This medication is supposed to be semi-synthetic and may contain less of the semi (natural opioid) and more of the cheap synthetic now. My same prescription that I have been taking for years, two a day max, fit in the smaller vial, whereas three years ago they would not fit. They also do not provide the same pain relief as they did at that time. My heart disease is getting worse without the pain control. Please be cautious with this medication if my suspicion is correct that the formula has changed, because those cheap drugs are dangerous. It is a shame how the medical community has changed and doesn't care about seniors who built all of what everyone enjoys today. Be safe, policies are changing very fast."

Acetaminophen / hydrocodone for Back Pain "I was injured years ago badly. When I fell, it worsened & had surgery. My pain is severe & classified as intractable. PT helps but my back pain persists. I tried Percocet, morphine & Hysingla, but nothing touched the pain. It was as if I hadn’t taken anything! I was taking too many Advil a day, which helped, but the doctor said that’s very dangerous. I gave up & she suggested 1 last medication, Norco. I was skeptical & gave in to the pain but took just one pill & after 1 hour, I had no pain for hours! I’ve had excruciating pain for so long, and it honestly feels strange not to have it a few hours a day now. Another plus is NO SIDE EFFECTS like others (dizziness, out of it feeling (I guess euphoria which I hate), no constipation) and it just works! Husband sees a difference in my outlook and how I’m walking better. There’s a need for a 2nd pill midday when the morning one wears off, then some pain at night. But I’m okay with pain at night because I’m just resting. I’m finally getting my life back. I really just can’t believe it!!!!"

For Pain "Full stop. Do not complain here or with your physician. Send an FDA MEDWatch Complaint Form 3500 and fax it to the FDA. Only and only if we have enough complaints will the FDA actually run an assay to establish the FDA required 80-120% of a brand medication value. We all know that the medication we are receiving is sub-therapeutic and not one person is listening. The only way we can get relief for real pain patients is to keep sending the MedWatch FDA Form 3500 to the government. FDA/MedWatch/3500 form and print and fax. Do it now!!!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve been taking the generic Vicodin 7.5/325 for 15 years due to failed back surgeries. Walgreens is my pharmacy. They changed brands from Watson to Mallinckrodt and never told me. I noticed I was sick to my stomach all the time, had headaches, and felt tired. I didn’t know what was going on. When I got a refill on my inhaler, they changed that too. So, I checked my pills and realized they changed them without informing me! Now, I have to deal with this for a month. The pharmacist tried to assure me there is no difference in them, but that just makes me upset. I don’t appreciate being told something I know better!"

For Back Pain "Yeah I'm on this Mallinckrodt acetaminophen/hydrocodone 10-325 for a bad back. Ex-contractor. This brand feels like completely worthless fake pills. Sick of sitting here in pain. Someone needs to sue these jerks. I asked the pharmacy. There's no other brands they carry. Because they want control of your life! I'm sick of it!"
