Precautions
If your cough has not improved after 7 days or if you have a fever, skin rash, continuing headache, or sore throat with the cough, check with your doctor. These signs may mean that you have other medical problems.
Common side effects of Mucinex

General adverse events
Guaifenesin (the active ingredient contained in Mucinex) has been generally well tolerated.[Ref]
Gastrointestinal
Gastrointestinal side effects have included stomach upset and vomiting with higher than recommended doses. Doses recommended for expectoration have rarely been associated with gastrointestinal upset.[Ref]
Nervous system
Nervous system side effects have occasionally included dizziness and headache.[Ref]
Dermatologic
Dermatologic side effects have included rare reports of rash.[Ref]
Hypersensitivity
Hypersensitivity side effects have included a report of an anaphylactic reaction.[Ref]
