Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "My first two infusions went ok. My dexa did not really change. Then I had my third infusion and everything but my bone density changed. I now have an irregular EKG and heart flutters and high blood pressure that came out of nowhere. I have felt totally unwell, dizzy and unsteady at times. I feel that I have been poisoned. Shame on me for believing big pharma could help. Just take your calcium citrate and vitamin D thats all you really need for your bone health. Reclast is just another poison to ruin your health."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "74 years old, has back pain, tests identified 2 compression spine fxs. Conservative treatment failed to give relief, had 2 ESIs (epidural steroid injection), then 2 level kyphloplasty ( Vertebral Augmentation for Compression Fractures), next Reclast infusion, felt okay for about 5 hours but later, back pain intensified, went to bed started shaking like chills all over, finally fell asleep, next morning so weak unable to get out of bed, husband rolled me on rolling walker into the bathroom, assisted me on and off commode, stayed the same next day, on monday a little stronger but severe neck and right thumb pain, mostly laying and sleeping in recliner, checked with doctor and no specific recommendations. Next day able to go out to lunch but extremely weak, had another ESI 6 days after Reclast, got relief for that day and next, but pain returned with vengeance the following day and back in recliner now 9 days post infusion. Never again."

For Osteolytic Bone Metastases of Solid Tumors: "Maybe it helped me, since I had cancer all throughout my spine...but after 2 years, I spontaneously developed Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (ONJ) because of this drug. So, I haven’t broken my spine, but now I have a awful hole in my mouth where I can see my jaw bone, and I have to worry about my jaw bone dying off. Keep working on a better drug guys! This one sucks."

For Osteoporosis: "Took reclast which is the same thing.. I will never take it again .. I have never been so sick in all my life my symptoms were off the charts and I had a liver transplant. Literally at one point didn’t think I was gonna make it thru the night that’s how bad it was. I had a fever 103.9 severe chills. I think I even blacked out at one point and I couldn’t walk either, like some other people have said. I usually don't take any meds I 'm just fine maybe it was an allergic reaction ..not sure but I will never take it again"

For Prevention of Osteoporosis: "I had my first infusion of Zoledronic acid on 15/6/18. Everything was fine until about 7pm when the pain hit me and I couldn’t move. I was told I would have flu like symptoms but it was far worse than that. I couldn’t sleep or get comfortable in bed because of the pain. The next day was even worse and by the 17th my husband rang the 24 hour helpline I was told that the pain was normal and to ring 111 for stronger painkillers from the out of hours doctor. The doctor phoned and told me I may have high calcium levels and I needed to go to A and E for urgent blood tests. I did this and all the tests came back normal I was given stronger painkillers and told if the pain got worse to see my GP. It is day 6 now and the pain has eased but not gone. I have no energy, very tired and feel this has put my recovery from Breast cancer back months. I am now uncertain as to whether I will be having another infusion."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "Am 73 years old, have been using reclast injections once a year for 7 or more years, last bone density test showed good improvement, had a slight soreness the first time, and have zero side effects since. Am going in today for another test. I guess we all tolerate different things, I take no other medications whatsoever. But for me this seems to be working."

For Prevention of Osteoporosis: "Wednesday I had an zoledronic acid infusion. That night I had a hundred and two fever and chills and everything ache from my bones to my muscles. By Friday morning I was having seizures on the floor of my kitchen, I woke up in time to watch my body flopping around like a fish! It soon stopped and I got up off the floor and walk to my husband's condo which is three steps away, I told him I don't feel very well and immediately did a face-plant in his dining room! I hate this stuff, my jaw is locked and eyes are fuzzy off and on! Time will tell what other damage will have been done..."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "I have been reading the other comments about side effects that happen months later. I have been taking Reclast once a year since 2009, after my cancer treatments were over. I have never had any side effects or bad experiences with it. It's cool as heck to me. I will definitely continue to use it for as long as my oncologist seems it necessary."

Aclasta (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "I had two infusions during two years period. One day suddenly I had so much pain on my upper leg. I had no trauma prior to the pain. Bone scan shows I had a typical fracture on my femur. Dr didn't tell me the side effect about the drug . I am so disappointed. I thought the drug suppose to strength my bone but does the opposite."

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Osteolytic Bone Lesions of Multiple Myeloma: "I started Zometa IV once a month for 6 yrs. After having 2 stem cell transplants. Dìagnosed with Multiple Myeloma 12 yrs ago. During the last 2 years of Zometa I developed Osteonecrosis in my jaw, BRONJ after having a tooth extracted. That led to a domino effect causing all my lower teeth needing to be removed. I was a 48 yrs old woman when 1st diagnosed with MM. Stage 4. I was very physically active and had teeth. I opted to stop taking Zometa as soon as the 1st tooth extracted showed difficulty in healing. I am now almost 60 yrs old and have been off Zometa for 4 yrs and have had no bone fractures or breaks. I had the achy bones, the cruddy feeling for a few days. Be fanatical about oral hygiene."

For Prevention of Osteoporosis: "I am taking this drug to help my bones because of the drug letrizole I am on. Have stage 1 breast cancer with radiation and partial mastectomy. Very small tumor removed. No lymph node involvement. This drug made me so sick. 102 fever chills and depression. When does the depression go away. Miserable"

For Osteoporosis: "I had my first Zometa infusion on 2/2/2018. Oncologist recommend this drug as I've had breast cancer twice. Bone density test found that I have osteopenia and thus the drug was recommended. The next day after the infusion I has severe nausea followed with bone and joint aches. My right eye would tear and the skin around my eye looked red a purple like I had a black eye. I did not have much of an appetite for a few days afterwards. Today is day 5 after the infusion and I'm still experiencing joint and bone ache. I'm also taking Arimidex as well so this might be part of the reason why the medicine is causing me grief. I am prescribed for infusions every 6 months for a total of 3 years. I'll update again in 6 months to let everyone know the next experience."

For Prevention of Osteoporosis: "Next day after injection I could not lift simple light items, lean forward, bend over all due to pain in my chest. Every breath hurt. Saturday woke up in tears to the same breath pain and still couldn't lift anything. Sunday felt confused, major headache on left side started (same side as injection). By Sunday night my breathing only hurt on a deep breath, but left eye socket pain started along with headache. Monday still severe eye socket pain and headache, woke up to eye swollen shut. Doctor said to go to ER and they admitted me for 2 days, eye swollen shut, bright red in a large area around eye. They wrote it off as Cellulitis, but I had no pain due to the redness and white blood cells never elevated showing I was fighting infection"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis: "Less than 36 hrs after my first Reclast infusion I began shivering violently for over 2 hrs. Then I spiked a temp of 102.7. Within 24 hrs that had gone. Day 4 post infusion my left arm, wrist and hand began to hurt. This was the arm I received the infusion in. Now it has been 8 days since the infusion and each day the pain gets worse in my arm and hand. When I awaken the entire area is swollen and so painful even a sheet touching my fingertips brings excruciating pain. 2 extra strength Tylenol last about one hour. 4 Ibuprofen last about the same. Aleve (Naproxen) will last about 6 hrs. 2 Tylenol #3 gives relief for about 2 hrs. The pain and swelling have traveled up my arm, into my upper arm above the elbow."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "I’ve had the Reclast infusion two times now. I’m 68 and my osteoporosis is not severe, and only in a couple of areas. I haven’t experienced any side effects at all. No improved energy either, as some report. But, my doctor says my bone density has improved following another test. So, I’ll likely continue with what he recommends."

For Osteoporosis: "My husband had the injection on Thursday. By that evening he couldn't move his head. By Friday, called his dr and was told to go to Emergency. 1st went to urgency care and they sent him to emergency. They did all kinds of tests. His neck, chest, hips and legs were extremely sore. He is in extremely good condition by working out at the gym spinning and weights. He does have prostrate cancer and has been treating that with Lupron since 2014. That is why he needed something for his bones No matter the results would he do it again. NO"

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Osteolytic Bone Metastases of Solid Tumors: "Been on it for about 4 years. Very little side effects. Maybe some lower back pain but I have terrible mets to bones almost everywhere that I could hardly tell if this med adds to pain. No other problems. I have been getting it for so long that they cut it back to every three months about 2 1/2 years ago. Worried about necrosis to the jaw."

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Hypercalcemia of Malignancy: "Went the day before Thanksgiving for my regular shots for my neuroendocrine tumors (NETs)/Carcinoid Syndrome wwith mets to liver. Nurse said a "calcium drip" had been ordered. I figured it was a type of vitamin, although the nurse said some people get mild flu symptoms. I left 40 mins. Later, went home to houseful of guests. (I'm the cook for record in our family) About 10:00 that night I felt like a ton of bricks had hit me! The chills, uncontrollable shaking, and violent vomiting began. Every bone and joint in my body ached. I'm now 4 days past treatment and I'm still just "off". I'm having trouble searching for words, forgetful, & inexplicably depressed. (sobbing for no reason?) I, too, like the previous post, am furious with my doctor. NEVER AGAIN."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "two days after injection I have severe lower back pain, unable to get out of bed without assistance, couldn't bend over, very painful on scale of 1 to 10, my pain level a 7. One week later, severe swelling of left hand fingers, very pain full. Morning headaches, very uncommon for me."

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "I received Zometa IV on 9/26/17, after being informed of all the possible side effects. Although I was somewhat concerned, I was pleasantly surprised when 2 days later I have experienced nothing worse that a little more joint pain than usual when line dancing last evening. Hopefully, this medication will improve my bone density, or at least keep it stable."

Zometa (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "Had 1 t-7 fracture due to the Osteoporosis. Recently had the reclast infusion and it is awful. Flu like symptoms no way, much much worse. I literally was incapacitated. The pain everywhere in my bones, joints, hips even my fingers. I feel my doctors were not honest with me on how I would or could really feel. On the positive though I hope in one year my bone density and bone mass will have improved. I don't want another fracture."

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Osteoporosis: "Last year's infusion brought four days of fever, made difficult because I can't take aspirin or other non steroidal anti-inflammatories. After two weeks, I'm nostalgic for those symptoms. This time body temp has stayed in the 96.4 range (95.9 this a.m.), when it's usually 97.6-98.6, so I feel very cold--until I get a savage hot flash requiring me to mop myself off with a towel, at least once an hour. I also have muscle cramps waking me up several times a night (more than prior to treatment). I've been lightheaded and fatigued. I also have fibromyalgia, but these symptoms are different/more intense. The doc told me he can do nothing. I'm frantic because I need to work and find that almost impossible. Anyone else with a situation like mine?"

Reclast (zoledronic acid) for Prevention of Osteoporosis: "(FOR MALE JUVENILE OSTEOPOROSIS) While this medicine did seem to increase my bone density in the long run, the night after caused far more pain then the injury that fractured my spine, though this could be on account of my age. PLEASE be sure to check with your doctor over how it may effect you. That being said, calcium supplements and medication over a longer period of time also helped, even without a second Reclast treatment."
