For Back Pain: “tramadol has made all the difference for me, living with chronic pain from spinal stenosis. I take 50 mg with gabapentin to sleep at night, another 50 mg when it wears off and I wake up in the wee hours of the morning, then 50 mg to get me up and going. Once I'm up and focused on work, I can usually get through the day without any more. Without it, I probably would not be able to sleep at night or work in the day. It doubles as an anti-depressant, but for me pain and depression are so interconnected that it's hard to distinguish them.”
For Anxiety: “I have been taking tramadol for pain for the past two months. In the past I have struggled with anxiety and depression , but since I've been taking tramadol, I've felt great. It really takes the edge off, and I would rather take tramadol than all the other meds rather I've been prescribed before for anxiety. I have no side effects with tramadol, and I'm worried about what I'm going to do when I run out.”
For Anxiety: “I've tried over 15 anti anxiety and anti depression medications for over 20 years along with thousands of hours of talk therapy. Last year I tried Tramadol for anxiety and it works for me. I take no other drugs, only 150mg of tramadol pretty much daily. My PCP of many years is onboard with the off label use of tramadol for this reason. I have no side affects except for a few intestinal "grumbles" now and then. I'm very pleased after all these years to have something that works. I feel like I can breath easier, less fear, more positive, more relaxed but in a good way. Not sedated or sleepy. Able to do things on my own. I hope it works for others that have been drug resistant to all the typical drugs.”

Ultram ODT (tramadol) for Chronic Pain: “I just started Ultram ODT so far not impressed the government need to understand there are people out here that needs these meds. Good honest hardworking Americans who deserve a few hours a day without pain. Now I am in pain all the time I don’t have insurance, so I pay for all my meds with cash. There no way I’m going to even consider selling my much needed meds and I know there billons out there who are just like me I have had to go dark to take care of myself it was that or a bullet in the head nobody wants to be like this nobody!!!!!! But our government doesn’t care.”
For Depression: “Thumbs up! I was prescribed Tram for abdominal pain, and in the process of taking once daily, 50mg, I realized that my energy is boosted, my mood is elevated, and I felt 10 to 15 years younger. I also observed more creativity and a heightened sense of wellbeing. Must be the serotonin higher levels.”
For Anxiety: “I have had pretty bad anxiety over the past 5 years, had occasional panic attacks and trouble leaving my comfort zone. I was on Lexapro, which did nothing but make me fat. I also have a bulged disc and was prescribed this in lieu of stronger opiates like Vicodin and Percocet. To me this medicine is a miracle. I am happy always, never anxious, and never feel uncomfortable, even when I am doing things I don't enjoy. ”
Ultram (tramadol) for Back Pain: “Good at relieving pain for a short duration (4 hours at a time) with few side effects. I found that at 200mg/day my pain was cut in half and I had increased energy and a brighter mood. I have used this medicine for 4 years now and find that it is very effective for about four months.. and then effectiveness decreases. At that point, my doctor switches me to a narcotic for three to four weeks and then I can continue with the tramadol over again with a "reset" in the effectiveness factor. The strongest negative for me is getting off the tramadol... withdrawl effects include major mood swings, insomnia, and dizziness. But overall, it is quite effective and has very few bad effects for me while taking it.”

For Pain: “I was prescribed this tramadol for pain following knee replacement. For 6 weeks I experienced racing heart rate, shortness of breath, and chest pain, which delayed my recovery and stumped all my physicians. I was bed-bound the entire time. After a multitude of testing, my PCP finally suggested I stopped this medication and all symptoms resolved within two days. This was a debilitating experience, and I have never had these problems prior to this medication or since. If I could rate this medication any lower than 1, I would.”
For Anxiety: “I’ve been taking many prescriptions because I have been through many traumatic experiences. I was given tramadol for low back disc herniations. Wow! It helps with my pain, depression, anxiety as well . I’m allowed to take 100mg 3 times a day. I don’t notice the improvement until the second dose and it’s something I would have to have everyday. Drawbacks for me are constipation and insomnia.”
For Depression: “Tramadol has been a miracle for me. It was prescribed for a back injury but I also suffer from pain & depression from having fibromyalgia and ME/CFS since '97. I've never taken any pharma meds for it but the struggles have been great. Tramadol initially felt like a miracle. It removed all pain but it also teated my depression 100%. Wonderfully shocking! I still just take 1 a day, lowest dosage. After a year, It no longer works "as good" as it did in the beginning but still offers significant help. I refuse to up my dose because it is an addictive drug. The one big negative for me.”
For Depression: “This medication is simply perfect. I take one 50 MG dose in the am. One 50 MG dose in the afternoon. If necessary, one 50 mg in the evening. Zero drowsiness. Zero side effects. I’m the happiest human on earth. Cures 100% of anxiety and depression. It even helps with pain related issues too. But for depression and anxiety, it is amazing. It also deters you from wanting other drugs (whether it’s marijuana, alcohol, or anything else) because you naturally don’t want it because you don’t feel anxiety or depression. You are genuinely happy and clear headed. If you want to get high, take something else. If you genuinely want to be happy all the time with no anxiety or depression and want to socialize, this is 10X better than anything else. My doctor stopped prescribing it to me after my surgery after 2 years.”
For Depression: “I to went from one antidepressant to another. SSRIs (multiple), TCAs, SNRIs. Nothing worked and like others my moods were up and down the whole time. Twice a day Tramadol has kept me symptom free for 5 years now. Amazing.”
For Anxiety: “I was having severe menstrual cramps, and took this. Though it did nothing for my pain, the effect it had on my mood was amazing. I have suffered with severe mood issues most of my adult life, and none of the many antidepressants I have tried did anything to help. Within an hour of taking it, I felt normal for the first time in 15 years. I talked to my physician, and she agreed to prescribe it off label to treat my mood disorder. I have been taking the same dose of 50 mg, three times a day for the last three years, and I am doing great.”
For Depression: “I've had depression since I was very young. I never accepted SSRI and just carried on regardless. My diabetes eventually gave me peripheral neuropathy and my feet hurt. Tramadol was prescribed for the pain. Since taking the tramadol my depression has been virtually non existent. I have not told my GP as he will probably stop the prescription .I do not have euphoria or anything like that, I am though functioning as a real human being with energy and purpose . My life is not perfect but its much much better , it can't just be a coincidence. John Lennon said " Whatever gets you through the night, It's Alright" I wish all you fellow suffers the very best luck x”
For Depression: “While suffering in a deep depression I read on this site about Tramadol. I had a full script from a dental procedure and decided to try it. The results are real, it truly is a miracle drug for depression. I am able to play with my kids and live a normal life taking just 50mg in the morning.”
For Chronic Pain: “I’ve been using Tramadol 50mg for around 5 months for chronic low back pain & peripheral neuropathy in hands & feet. I have tried Palexia & Oxycodone in the past, but they offer me minimal pain relief with lots of side effects. Tramadol is the only thing I’ve found to keep my pain levels down. I take both SR & IR forms. Only side effect is that they keep me awake at night, so I don’t take them near bed time. I don’t experience any nausea, dizziness, etc like with other pain meds. I can stop these & don’t experience any withdrawal. To work, these are dependant on you having specific liver function to process the breakdown of active ingredients.I’m lucky that these work well for, but if you don’t have the right liver enzymes then these may not work at all for you or cause nasty side effects -as some have noted. You won’t know though unless you try.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Back Pain: “I have had a degenerative disk for almost 10 years, and have taken Ultram for the past year and a half. For almost 8 years, due to no insurance, I took nothing and lived with the pain. No narcotic such as hydrocodone has ever touched the pain, but Ultram completely eradicates the pain! It helps my mood and I'm able to work long hours with no pain. As of July 1, 2014 it is a schedule 4 narcotic and now I'm unsure whether I'll be able to get the dosage I need.”
For Anxiety: “I've tried over 13 medications for anxiety and none have worked not even the popular benzodiazepines. I tried 100mg of Tramadol and I felt the weight lifted from me. I felt like I could breath easier and relaxed. It's the only thing that has worked. I'm looking for a doctor now who has experience with long term use or perhaps a doctor that can recommend a medication knowing that Tramadol works for me.”
For Depression: “I have always suffered with depression and was using antidepressants which helped somewhat then I ended up with back pain and was prescribed tramadol which has helped me a lot. Lost my husband last year and at times just cannot be bothered with life but if I take tramadol it improves my mood and I get on with my life. It has made a big difference. I want to give it up because I get constipated which I think is a side effect but there are things I can take like fruit and high fibre to get rid of that problem. Every time I try to give it up I get so down that I have decided at the age of 72 why not continue taking it and enjoy life the best I can. I take 50mg in the morning and evening and half at lunch time every day. I still take an antidepressant with it. My dr told me if the pills work thats what it is all about feeling better.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Pain: “I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, so am in fairly constant pain. Ultram has really been a lifesaver, allowing me to work and play. Headache is sometimes a problem, but I think almost always in combination with caffiene.”
For Depression: “I been diagnosed with depression, by every doctor I been in face to face contact...I always try to hide my depression from everyone, even doctors. I would go to the ER about twice a year for anxiety attack. The doctors in the ER would identify my depression right away even with me trying to hide it. I taken a hand full of antidepressants Zoloft, exfexar, welbutrain, and paxel. Took Zoloft for 2 years and gained 115lb. I got prescribe tramadol for pain, I would stand all day. Immediately did not have the need for Zoloft. I was able to get a better job (still standing all day ) I lost 104lb (saggy skin now). I take 50mg twice a day... On an empty stomach is best. Just like everyone else tramadol has gave me my life back!”
For Depression: “These postings are amazing for me. I was diagnosed with depression at 17 (59 now) and over the years have taken everything fro Prozac to Paxil to Welbutrin, and many others. Four years ago I was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis, and just a few months ago I was prescribed Tramadol for pain, while it did help somewhat with pain I suddenly noticed my depression was lifting for the first time in over 30 years. The difference is amazing and life changing. In addition I can go several days to a week with out it and I feel no withdrawal symptoms. I used to cry all the time, constant thoughts of suicide and I'd stay in bed for days at a time. Now I exercise daily, ride my bike frequently (which also helps with the depression)”
For Anxiety: “Tramadol. 25mg per night (half 50mg) Is the only relief from anxiety after 40 years of trying so many pills. Started after knee replacement. 18 months. No side effects. No desire to increase Although 50mg is better . Now concerned cannot prescribe for anxiety. So may have to return to daily misery. Or legal occasional 50ml doses of vodka!!”
For Fibromyalgia: “I have taken Tramadol for about five years. It has been a miracle drug for me. After having suffered through all the symptoms of fibromyalgia, my biggest complaint was the tiredness and lack of energy. After taking Tramadol the first time, I had a noticeable increase in energy and general well-being. I now take 100mg 3 times a day. Although the effects are not as noticeable as before, it still helps to increase my energy to where I am able to be more productive. One 7.5mg Norco and two Tramadol every 4 to 6 hours have helped me get through the day. My mom and two sisters also have this disease. My daughter was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia. She is currently using the CBD oil, and so far it has been somewhat effective. Like so many of us with this disease, I’m praying for the cure.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Chronic Pain: “I've been taking tramadol for back and knee pain from a motorcycle accident for over a year, it is a great pain reliever that eliminates 90% of my pain issues without making me feel drowsy like hydrocodone or oxycodone. It controls my pain and I still live my normal life.”
