For Depression: “I am a single mother of 3 boys one who has autism and some days we're soooo hard that I was only just coping. I had anxiety and depression. I was prescribed me some tramadol for a headache I had and let's just say in about 40 mins I went from feeling anxious, stressed and angry to happy, energetic and playing with my children. Complete life changer for me for the better. My quality of life improved along with my families as now they have a mother who is happy, patient and calm. I've been on tramadol for about 7 years with no complications. At most I have gone up to on "bad" days was 800mg but now I taper down or have a couple of days break so my tolerance does not build, because obviously like other pills the withdrawal is awful. But so worth it for me ”
Ultram ODT (tramadol) for Back Pain: “I have been on tramadol for many years for fibromyalgia back pain. I take six 50mg a day. It does in fact help. It makes it bearable most of the time. However when its at its worst, the medicine doesn't faze it. I would recommend a second prescription of something much stronger for occasional pain (maybe 10 a month if that). Doctors and lawmakers need to realize that people with pain that will never get better and will progressively get worse, need relief. Unfortunately that is going to involve addictive medication. But their addiction isn't the high. It's the addiction to function and to live a productive life. We crave these medications because we know without them our quality of life is very low.”
For Depression: “First, tramadol is NOT an opiate, it may work somehow (no one knows how nor can claim to understand how) with receptors for them in the brain but please stop the completely false statements that this is an opiate-simply not true. Ultram was first used for in the 1990s was pain and then it became clear that if was also helpful for people who were not getting relief from anti-depressants (and did big Pharma push out every variation of SSRI uptake inhibitor at great cost to the public and of course with no clue if they would work). EXCELLENT alternative to ineffective anti-depressants that big pharma wants to keep pushing. Again, wrong to even begin to compare it to an opiate, and time for it to be acknowledged as an option for depression.”

For Depression: “I've had a mesh implant. It's not getting any better as far as the pain. I've been diagnosed with depression and severe anxiety. I've been on all types of medication , but they had caused way too many side effects. Tiredness was something that I can't deal with, and tramadol doesn't make me feel like that. I've been taking tramadol for pain, but it has totally made my life better. My mood is up, I'm no longer depressed, and I only take 150mg a day. Virtually no side effects. I truly wish that tramadol could be prescribed for my mental issues. It has kept me from relapsing. I've been clean and sober for three years now. I haven't had any cravings since I've started taking tramadol.”
For Anxiety: “I'm 20 and have a combination of anxiety, mild depression, and TMJ pain. For anxiety I tried Zoloft, Xanax, Klonopin, etc. Zoloft did nothing, and while the others worked, I couldn't use them long term. Tramadol is the miracle, road-runner medication. It covers all of my conditions and covers them great. It eases my jaw pain for 4-5 hrs and my mood/anxiety is pretty much nonexistant. I also have 0 side effects and don't find it addictive. Tramadol gave me my life back and will continue to! 10 star medication!”
Ultram (tramadol) for Chronic Pain: “I have been one of the many finding myself suffering severe chronic pain, fibromyalgia, cervical radiculopathy, severe osteoarthritis in all my joints and 3 bulging discs. Stripped of all my pain meds and only allowed sporadic usage of ultram. I went from 125mmg fentanyl every 48 hour w/ Vicodin for break through pain to one ultram every 4 to 6 hrs. I might as well be taking a baby aspirin every 4 to 6 hrs.”
For Depression: “I have taken tramadol off and on for 3 years for hip bursitis and I also have suffered from depression for the last 30 years. When I take it I feel any signs of depression lift...I feel motivation to engage in life, my mind feels clear, and I have more energy. I recently had an honest conversation with my psychiatrist about using low dose tramadol for depression. I've tried a dozen different antidepressants with ton of side effects and hardly any good long lasting results. I don't feel any side effects from the tramadol and 50 mg can last me all day. I do notice when it wears off but I don't mind as I've had a good 8 hours feeling normal, not high. I am hopeful now. I've been able to just stop it without side effects when needed to so far...its such a low dose but does wonders.”

Ultram (tramadol) for Pain: “New reports are claiming Ultram to be highly addictive - the FDA must have decided that the drug works to well and it is too cheap so they put out these reports.I have never felt anything that would make me addicted except pain relief that enables me to perform my daily tasks. People need to speak up quickly. My Doctor has decided he wants me to try Elavil which caused rapid weight gain and Cymbalta or Celebrex (very expensive - hmmm!) which caused sexual dysfunction and I felt like a zombie.”
For Anxiety: “I was given tramadol for migraines. I realized after a couple of days that it completely took my severe panic attacks away. I struggle with depression, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, and ADHD. Not only am I not having any anxiety when taking tramadol, it improved my suicidal tendencies and helped me become more clear, and a more productive person. I am able to face people, leave my comfort zone, complete tasks, and socialize more. This drug is a miracle, and I am so thankful that I found it and that my PCP prescribes it for me. I’m hoping to God he never quits. Due to drug abusers, I’m sure it is difficult to get if your doctor does not believe in the medicine for depression and anxiety. Please conceded using for these reasons and get on board. Tramadol is saving lives.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Pain: “I have severe back pain and have been on everything. Nothing works better then Ultram. I still go to work and don't feel like I'm in a tunnel. I also have no problems with withdrawl symptoms, when I stop taking them.”
For Anxiety: “Again another med that has been deemed bad, at a very hard time in my life after loosing the love of my life. I tried a lot of medicines and one tramadol a day works better than anything for both the depression and anxiety that has followed from my circumstance. No side effects”
For Depression: “I was reading some of these past comments and I have to say some of you I am very disappointed. Every single drug you take on this planet has side effects and it has withdraw symptoms I don't care what medicine you take! Every drug you take long enough has a dependency issue. I mean come on even coffee people have withdrawals to that. I have taken tramadol for back pain ovarian cyst, and then my psychiatrist told me he wanted me to continue on this medicine because it's been proven effective in treating depression, and I have been on every anti depressant they have ever made and horrible health and side effects and I was not having a good quality of life. The good out weighs the bad. And my life is finally getting better. Now shame on you adults that are bashing people for taking tramadol for depression. My life is good.”
For Depression: “Waouh, tramadol had helped me so much to cope with bits of anxiety and depression that has been drug resistant for decades. Just make sure u keep the dosage low and don't take it from time to time. The robustness of the anti anxiety and anti depressant effect is real, when are doctors gonna trust patients that 90 per cent of the time do want to get better and stop suffering!!”
Ultram (tramadol) for Pain: “I had a very serious seizure combining Ultram with Prozac, something which unfortunately many doctors are not aware of (like my brother, who is an ER doctor and disputed me that this was the cause until I steered him to the relevant literature, since I too am a scientist). However, I was also at fault for forgetting to tell my doctor that I was taking Prozac from my primary care doctor. I essentially was out for several minutes, severely bit my tongue, had a concussion from hitting the floor. I was very close to getting into the car to take my 5 year old to preschool. So please, please, be very very careful when mixing prescription medicines.”
For Depression: “This is the best medicine for anxiety and depression. Fast results and no side effects, please fight so doctors prescribe this more. They now treat depression with ketamine - a very dangerous and very illegal drug that I used to take 20 years ago at trance parties. But they say tramadol is addictive..SSRI's are more addictive. I am an ex junkie so I know what I am talking about.”
For Restless Legs Syndrome: “I have NEVER taken Tramadol and have had RLS for many years. I asked my doctor to prescribe me some (which was tough for some reason, it is the lowest level of narcotic drug but junkies ruin it for people who NEED pain control) After taking 100mg a night 1 hour before bed has SAVED me! I have NO RLS anymore! I love it! I take 2 in the morning for my back pain and 2 at night for back pain and RLS for over a year now and I feel so much better!”
For Pain: “My doctor gave me tramadol after having 2 teeth extracted & it didn’t help one bit, it actually made my pain worse & made it throb harder than ever. It had the exact opposite effect on me & made me feel 100 times worse. No thank you! Doctors prescribe tramadol because they refuse to give out norcos that actually work! Get you to keep coming back, for “pain relievers” that don’t work, just to keep adding up that doctor bill! Can’t just prescribe norcos & save both people time & save the patient money from trying rubbish that just does NOT work!”
For Anxiety: “I previously rated Tramadol for depression (miracle) and now it time to rave about anxiety relief. I strongly believe psychiatrists are not paid to prescribe tramadol. They will tell you how addictive it is all while prescribing you psych meds with tenfold side effects. I find the mechanism of how Tramadol works fascinating. I see no reason to shy away from 50mg daily. I find most people here forgetting to state how much they're taking. Tramadol is a game changer. It may not work for some people based on their liver enzymes (connected to ancestry and hereditary). But hey you won't know till late you tried. A miracle medication with low addiction potential if you keep it on low dose (50mg daily in my case).”
Ultram (tramadol) for Fibromyalgia: “Tramadol saved my life. Fibromyalgia had just about taken my life away. I was constantly in pain, tired, and often in a mental fog. It was causing major problems in my marriage, because the pain, fatigue, and fog made me a horrible husband and father. I wasn't doing my part around the house because of the pain, fatigue, and lack of cognitive clarity. My wife was resentful, and rightfully so. I finally ended up in a Doctor's office in tears - I told him I was "crazy". He said I was not crazy, I was ill. He prescribed tramadol and Cymbalta. My life has completely changed: no pain, no fatigue, and no fog. My life and marriage are restored, and we are happier than ever. Daily, I thank God for a good, knowledgeable doctor, Cymbalta and Tramadol.”
For Depression: “I can't believe the difference tramadol has made in lifting my mood. I began tramadol for body aches and realized the mood elevation that accompanied it. I take 3 50 mg tablets per day and have had no need to increase the amount. I feel motivated and have energy probably the way most non depressed people do. I used to abuse alcohol and smoke excessively, but now have absolutely no desire to self-destruct. I am more successful and productive in my career and I believe this pill has given me my life back.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Pain: “I have been using Ultram for about 2 months. I think this medicine works very well for pain, however the withdrawal side effects for me have been bad. If I stop taking this medicine for two days I experience cold sweats, hot flashes, can't sleep, my legs get restless at night. I find that I have to take the medicine without having pain, just to feel like my normal self again. The restless legs is probably the worst part of the withdrawal symptoms. It does however work fairly well for pain if taken regularly.”
For Depression: “I love tramadol. I use it for both mood and pain. I usually take 50mg a day but some days none and some days 100mg. I like it because I take as needed. Ive been addicted to opioids but this one is different. It’s like a miracle drug for me”
For Depression: “Like many of the reviewers here I discovered the benefits of the medicine for depression by accident. It had been prescribed for back pain after I hurt by back lifting a heavy bag out of the car trunk at the airport. Yes, it helped in a with the back pain from the injury but it totally destroyed my depression immediately. It works in less than 1 hour and you will feel uplifted and hopeful .If you suffer from depression talk with your Dr. about Tramadol. Plain and simple...it works and works fast. No kidding this is a depression killer.”
Ultram (tramadol) for Back Pain: “I took two tramadol and had the best night's sleep for longer than I can remember. I have chronic back pain I got from from when I was younger where I was in a tournament fight. I am 40 now with a kid and working 50 plus hours per week (mostly sitting down). I have taken everything and been in physical therapy and nothing seems to work. I hate being in a fog of the other narcotics. I want to enjoy my life and my family not be oblivious to it. This is amazing. I don't want side effects so I'll keep it to a minimum.”
For Anxiety: “Hi all. I used tramadol for pain from Ankoylosing Spondylitis. But I also suffered depression. Once I started taking this medication for pain, over the months I noticed my depression was going. I was happier my life was beginning. I have more confidence out going again. And I know don't over think. I had been given antidepressants in past. Nothing worked. But my pain medication does the job well. Have other people found this aswell????”
