For Narcolepsy "Been dealing with symptoms of a sleep disorder for 15+ years and have now been diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy along with idiopathic insomnia. After trying armodafinil and having adverse reactions, I was then subjected to try Sunosi. I had half a tablet daily for a week, then went to a full tablet after that. This medication helped me almost instantly. I had energy, I was able to think clearly, and able to process multiple things happening in my environment. It did, though, cause insomnia, I am getting roughly 4-5 hrs of sleep in a 24 hr span. Today marks day 22 of Sunosi, and the effects of the medication are reducing. I’ve been consistent with taking the medication and have no alcohol or drug use. My emotions are haywire, and I’m spouting anger outbursts. I’m overwhelmed by almost nothing. I’m trying to not get defeated or angry. I just thought I had been given an answer to a prayer, and now it’s not working. I’m hoping that my doctor will be able to provide help."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "It might work for a couple of days, then the helpful effect of keeping me alert stops, and I have to stay off it for an interminable amount of time before it returns to being effective. But while the positive effects may wane, the negative effects of nausea, depression, and insomnia may linger for hours. Worse, I have to wait up to 2 hours to discover if Sunosi - 75mg - will work that day. Thankfully, I have a doctor who understands this and gave me a prescription for Adderall, which works unconditionally."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Excessive daytime fatigue. I tried armodafinil 150 mg first, and it worked well by the second week, then energy uptake stopped, and I suffered through pounding heart, restlessness, anxiety, and nausea. Next was Sunosi 75 mg. It skipped the ‘energy’ part and went straight to all the awful side effects. I held on to it for about 10 days before it was intolerable. Now taking Adderall, 10-15 mg, once a day. I experience a window of energy for about 2 hours (nothing excessive, just alert like after a good night's sleep, which I haven’t had for 2 years). Sometimes with the med, I experience a ‘crash’ of agitation and exasperated cervical dystonia, but that was pre-existing and is usually non-existent because of treatment therapy. The side effects of the non-amphetamine drugs were too much to tolerate, with little relief. I will stick to the occasional Adderall, which I take every 2-3 days, when my responsibilities become backlogged due to my inertia."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Sunosi was not my friend. Did help me stay alert, gave me an internal feeling of agitation. I appeared anxious but never felt any anxiety. At the end of the day, I always had a crash effect but never felt any type of kick-in effect after taking it in the morning. My hands would twitch, and I would type incorrectly on the keyboard while working, and the mouse would fly. All extremities had tremors. My sleep was only 3-4 hours a night. This was the only medication that ever gave me a single-digit score on a sleep questionnaire with my doctor, but the side effects were horrible. I’m now taking something else."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I started using Sunosi about 6 months ago. I started out on 75 mg and upped the dosage to 150 mg. I know you are supposed to take it in the morning, but it does not get me through an entire day. So I started taking it around noon or 1 pm, and that has worked well for me. If I know I am going out for the evening, I will take another one around 5-6 pm to get me through the night until about 11 pm. What I like is not having any side effects. Unfortunately, my insurance won't pay for Sunosi, so I am being forced to switch to Nuvigil, which is a narcotic, so I am not happy about that. My doctor was giving me free samples (thank goodness). I would recommend Sunosi to anyone, in fact, I am going to see if I qualify for their $9.00 coupon for a year because I don't want to take a narcotic."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Initially I took the 75 mg dose. Had decent results for about a week and then became less effective, although it still was better than nothing. Increased to the 150 mg dose and experienced similar results, but began to have diarrhea with such regularity that I would rather be sleepy. I was going to drop back to 75 mg to get some of the benefit and see if the poop problem got better, but the coupon would no longer work and my cost was going to be $150 a month, which I refuse to accept."

For Narcolepsy "I absolutely love Sunosi and have been taking it for 3 years. It helps significantly with my excessive daytime sleepiness and I have no side effects other than keeping in mind to not drink too much caffeine with it or I’ll get jittery. I take 150mg though, 75 didn’t do enough for me."

For Narcolepsy "I have been on Sunosi (150 mg) for a few months now, and I fear it has lost its effectiveness over time. For the record, I have the Narc + Cataplexy package deal, woop woop. I used to do 6 a.m. to at least 10 p.m. for school/work days, with maybe a nap at 4, but now I can barely get through 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. I can tell the meds are less effective when my appetite is through the roof for sweets and whatnot. This has happened to me on Wakix, which is a common experience for Wakix users around the 6-week mark. And also with the methylphenidate. My insurance covers 80%, which is nice."

"I’m on half a dose of 75, so 37.5. It works well for about 5-6 hours, so I have to take it later in the day than you would think. After it wears off, I’m so exhausted. While it’s active in my system, I’m hot and feel like I’m going to explode physically. I’m assuming it’s high blood pressure. It also makes my heart beat fast. I will continue to use it because the benefits outweigh the cons."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "We are not really sure of what my diagnosis is. One doctor says the circadian clock no longer works because of the hypothetic dysfunction, the other says OSP. Side note: 20 mg of sildenafil an hour before bedtime will bring you down to one or fewer events per hour. I am on sildenafil 20 mg for pulmonary hypertension. Sunosi was the third medication they tried on me for awareness. The first two did not work. My doctor slowly got me to 150 mg. It worked for about 2 weeks. Now I take it before walking my dog at 6:30 a.m., and by 8 a.m. I am out in a deep sleep for at least 5 hours. All of our bodies are different. The problem with chronic fatigue is no one agrees on the source. Until we learn to treat the source, this is all a guessing game. Also, be careful because it can raise your blood pressure. I am on a blood pressure medicine, and two with side effects to lower your blood pressure. I average about 170/90, and my cardiologist said there is nothing which can be done."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "My PA gave me a couple of samples of Sunosi 150 mg because I told him I was still sleepy during the day even though I've been on CPAP steadily for over a year. I'd seen the TV ads for Sunosi, so I had high hopes for it. Unfortunately, it's been a disappointment. I'm only somewhat less sleepy during the day since I've been taking it. I still find myself fighting sleep during what are supposed to be 'waking' hours. On the plus side, though, I haven't had any side effects from it. I'll just have to find something else."

"Dose: 150mg oral tablet x 1 per day (morning). Sunosi brand solriamfetol. Very easy to swallow. Obvious effects within an hour. The first few days were a bit strange - I was hyper-aware of my faster heartbeat, I had very shaky hands, I was tripping over my own words, and I couldn't sit still. I also woke up drenched in sweat and was having a hard time falling asleep. As it's calmed down, most of the cons have gone away. Pros: I am very focused and energized for the whole day. I feel motivated to work and stay tidy. I am in a better mood because I do not feel as tired or foggy in my head. My memory is working better and I'm able to pay attention for longer periods of time. Cons: Having a harder time falling asleep. Feeling hungry all the time. Hands are sweatier, mouth is very dry."

For Narcolepsy "Sunosi has been a life-changer for me. I suffer from narcolepsy, and my doctor added Sunosi to my therapy. It has improved my ability to maintain wakefulness. My only complaint is that my pharmacy does not carry it and has to order it every month, and I sometimes experience interruptions in my medication."

"I recently was given samples of Sunosi for horrible fatigue, which is a common problem for those of us with MS. I have been taking 150 mg around 8:00 am. It seems to start working 45 min to 1 hr later. It helps tremendously with daytime sleepiness. It works pretty well for most of the day, but by late afternoon, I'm crashing with fatigue again. I was on Adderall previously."

For Narcolepsy "It takes a while for it to work. I also do not metabolize it very well. I have to take it every day, and so if I miss the dose due to oversleeping, I have a very short window to take it. After that time has passed, it's too late. I'm a single parent, so it's very inconvenient. It increases the incidence of insomnia and this year I have had a significant increase in migraine breakthrough as well. However, it has been available whereas the generic Adderall has not been. This was a better option to stay awake and somewhat functional than nothing at all. But I will request to switch back once the shortage is corrected. This is just not working. Also, my insurance barely covered this, and I will be losing my coverage at the end of the year since I am disabled and there was a mix-up with the state and the end of some pandemic funding."

For Narcolepsy "I was diagnosed with narcolepsy back at the beginning of 2021. I've been on modafinil, phentermine, and now on Sunosi 150 mg and just started Adderall 10 mg twice a day. It's only been 4 days, but so far no real changes. I feel awesome at 5:30 am, take my medications, and all is good till about 9:30 am, then all heck breaks out. My eyes start with the cement feeling, my eyesight starts with the kaleidoscope episodes, I fall asleep for about 30-40 seconds, my whole body jerks real hard and feels like I've been electrocuted, and I'm awake and back to normal. This affects my life so much and it's so frustrating because others don't understand what is happening. I videoed myself at work so I could show my doctor exactly what was happening. I hope this combination of meds finally works."

I thought I was going to be OK, last five months miserable, made my successful living as a studio singer. My voice is ruined now, and I am unsteady on my feet."

"Initially, it worked okay. The brain fog was gone, I had energy and was not tired all day. Now it is not consistent at all. Sometimes I take it, and it does nothing. One thing I have found is it affects my mood pretty badly. I will get really agitated and angry and then end up depressed. Don't think it's worth taking if it doesn't always work and affects my mood to this extent. Wonder if I'm the only one having depressive episodes with it."
