For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Excessive daytime fatigue. I tried armodafinil 150 mg first, and it worked well by the second week, then energy uptake stopped, and I suffered through pounding heart, restlessness, anxiety, and nausea. Next was Sunosi 75 mg. It skipped the ‘energy’ part and went straight to all the awful side effects. I held on to it for about 10 days before it was intolerable. Now taking Adderall, 10-15 mg, once a day. I experience a window of energy for about 2 hours (nothing excessive, just alert like after a good night's sleep, which I haven’t had for 2 years). Sometimes with the med, I experience a ‘crash’ of agitation and exasperated cervical dystonia, but that was pre-existing and is usually non-existent because of treatment therapy. The side effects of the non-amphetamine drugs were too much to tolerate, with little relief. I will stick to the occasional Adderall, which I take every 2-3 days, when my responsibilities become backlogged due to my inertia."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "Sunosi was not my friend. Did help me stay alert, gave me an internal feeling of agitation. I appeared anxious but never felt any anxiety. At the end of the day, I always had a crash effect but never felt any type of kick-in effect after taking it in the morning. My hands would twitch, and I would type incorrectly on the keyboard while working, and the mouse would fly. All extremities had tremors. My sleep was only 3-4 hours a night. This was the only medication that ever gave me a single-digit score on a sleep questionnaire with my doctor, but the side effects were horrible. I’m now taking something else."

For Narcolepsy "I have been taking this medication for a total of 6 months now. Firstly, Sunosi did provide increased wakefulness and some anxiety, however, the anxiety did fade after the first month. I have found for myself it does work better than other medication for my condition, such as modafinil, however, after Sunosi only provides the wakefulness, it won't stop me from falling asleep, but it will keep me awake as long as I am active. The negatives of this medication for myself have been issues with sight and some inconsistent blurred vision, however, nothing that would cause issues in day-to-day. I have found that upon waking up, I do get headaches as a result of taking this medication. Overall, I think there is a lot of alternative medication for narcolepsy, however, to have something that is non-addictive to some degree is very beneficial."

For Narcolepsy "I feel like I’m going to crawl out of my skin. I’m cold, shaky, no sexual desire. I’m in autopilot or highly anxious. My teeth hurt, my head hurts, I have indigestion."

For Obstructive Sleep Apnea/Hypopnea Syndrome "I've been taking Sunosi for around two months for OSA. I started at 75 mg daily, and I've been taking 150 mg for about two weeks. It is probably important to note that I also take 250 mg of Nuvigil and 20-60 mg of Adderall daily as well. I started the Sunosi with the goal of stopping the Adderall. My diagnosis is severe OSA with excessive daytime sleepiness. Narcolepsy was ruled out, although I experience restless legs and occasional sleep paralysis. I hold my breath in my sleep and wake up feeling like I am suffocating because I cannot force myself to breathe. I have used a CPAP regularly for more than 10 years, and the data shows that my sleep apnea is well controlled. But even so, I sleep between 15 to 18 hours per day. Sunosi was ineffective at 75 mg. At 150 mg, I am awake but too fatigued to do anything. It has caused anxiety, headaches, excessive sweating, nausea, and diarrhea."
