For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am on week 4 of Wegovy, the first 2 doses were 0.25 mg. The last 2 were 0.5 mg. I've had stomach pains and nausea to the point I'm in tears, it aches so much. My weight is going from 221 lbs to 215 lbs, I'm 5'9". I hardly eat for fear of worsening stomach issues. While my pharmacist says the side effects should go away by now, they haven't. I also have no energy, want to sleep, and have a hard time getting my blood sugar above 98, that's after a healthy meal with protein and a vegetable. Not sure this is worth it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I lost 15 lbs on my own, then joined a diet program and lost another 40 lbs. I plateaued for 6 months, then saw a weight loss doctor who put me on Saxenda (the daily injection) since Wegovy was not available. In 10 weeks, I lost 6 lbs. I never felt this fullness people have talked about. When Wegovy became available, I was started at the second highest dose and felt great the first week, but then got severe heartburn and nausea. At the highest dose, my side effects disappeared. During the 24 weeks I was on Wegovy, I really never had a full feeling. I lost 4 lbs in that period. I decided to stop since I did not get my insurance to approve my refill in time. I have gained back some of the weight even though I am eating the same number of calories and still exercising 300 min/wk. I am still gaining my 10 lb loss back."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am 75 years old. My starting weight was 207. I had 4 weeks of 0.25 mg, 4 weeks of 0.50 mg, and one week of 0.75. I now weigh 197. I have restricted my caloric intake and exercised, and have had only minimal side effects. Ten pounds in nine weeks is not much. Twenty years ago, I lost 38 pounds in 17 weeks using the Atkins diet. The cost was $1614 for four weeks at Costco. I switched to a men's clinic and now get Semaglutide using a syringe instead of a pen. The cost is $1888 for 24 weeks. I will continue (I have already purchased the 24 weeks plan), but I am disappointed."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I took 4 shots of .25 Wegovy. The first shot had no side effects and no problems. The second shot was a little different. Mild upset stomach starting about 24 hours afterward with some stomach pain. This subsided within the third day. My appetite was suppressed, felt fuller for longer. In the third shot, I had no appetite with stomach pain that lasted two days, and also felt as if I were going to pass out. I drank orange juice and ate saltine crackers with peanut butter, which helped. The last .25 shot of Wegovy… I had lost 12 pounds by this shot. But within a day, I was projectile vomiting, upset stomach, extreme pain in my abdomen, chills, and dizziness. I was taken to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with colitis that had gone to sepsis. The doctor explained a side effect from Wegovy may cause gastrointestinal problems. Wegovy attacked my colon and in turn, sepsis formed. I will not continue this shot. So many side effects go with it. It does curve your appetite, but I would be very cautious."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I was on Wegovy - lost weight but not in huge numbers. I did lose hair - a lot. I was at the highest dosage when I really noticed it. Has anyone gone down to a lower dosage and saw the hair loss stop/decrease? I'd like to continue to use it, but not if I keep losing my hair. Wondering if less hair loss if I return to a lower dosage - anyone have that experience? Thank you!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’ve been on Wegovy (Ozempic) for 10 weeks, first at 0.25 mg and now on 0.5 mg. I have not lost any weight (but not gained any). It has not curbed my appetite, and I still crave sweet stuff. I have had a few side effects, but the worst is constipation, and I have not had a normal poo since I started. I also have a headache, get dizzy if I stand up quickly, and my hair is falling out somewhat. I eat high fiber and take psyllium husk, and still no poo in a week sometimes. I would stay on it at higher doses, but the cost of £155 per month is not worth it if no effect so far. Disappointed because so many have a good result with this medication."

I had called and spoken to a Wegovy representative the month before about it, and they said someone was going to call me, as this was not a side effect that they knew of. No one ever called. I did look on another site, and it did show hair loss. Knowing that hair loss with this product is real. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Mixed review: I took Wegovy for 5 months, hoping to ultimately lose 15-20 pounds. I didn’t start losing weight until I started the 1.7 mg dosage (third month), and at that dosage, I was exceedingly tired and achy. I lost 10 pounds in 4 months but stopped taking it because of these side effects. Four months later, without Wegovy, I’m still down 5 pounds. My insurance partially covered this with a significant copay because I also have cardiovascular risks. I’d recommend only if you don’t experience the same side effects."

The doctors have had to prescribe nausea and vomiting medicine. It helps. I’m taking Alka-Seltzer for the heartburn. I’m really hoping the side effects will stop."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Experienced nausea and acid reflux with first four doses. The second box, the first pen did not work properly, the needle did not go all the way in. The medicine caused a bubble under the skin, was burning and hurting more than just the original needle stick. Called the drug company, they said because I did not watch the yellow tab, I would not be reimbursed. Not to mention that the medicine had no place to go until I pulled it out, and it sprayed all over my hand. The drug company is not good about standing behind their faulty product. If you have a problem, make sure to say you were watching the yellow bar, and you may have a chance at getting it replaced. Not good customer service."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started on Wegovy .25 mg mid-August and felt no side effects but no weight loss neither. Difficult stool movement right away. After 6 weeks, I started taking .50 mg after difficulty finding this dose in any pharmacy in Miami. I stayed on this dose for 4 weeks without any weight loss or bad side effects, other than constipation. Then I started taking 1 mg and immediately started feeling very bad: severe nausea and indigestion and bad diarrhea. Obviously, you can’t eat anything, so yes, I finally started losing weight, but felt so bad, I could not function, slept a lot, did not eat, was on the toilet a lot, and decided this was not worth it and stopped after two injections. Perhaps other people can deal with these kinds of side effects or they just react easier. Since I started on low doses for so long, I was disappointed the side effects were still so strong. After about three days (after stopping), I feel normal again but weight comes back quickly if you don’t have an iron will!"

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am very disappointed with Wegovy now. About a year ago, Wegovy was the best thing that ever happened to me. I lost the weight I desired. At that time, Wegovy was hard to find. It was on back order. When I started it, even the smallest doses, I did not feel hungry. The weight dropped fast. After several months, I stopped taking the medicine and began to see the weight come back on. So I decided to try Wegovy again this year. There is plenty in stock this year, however, it is not as effective as before. What happened? Did Wegovy water down their ingredients because of the high demand? I have been taking the shots, still feel hungry, and have not lost any pounds. Last year, when the medicine was in high demand, it worked. Please, Wegovy, don’t change your ingredients. The high cost of the medicine is still the same, the medicine should stay the same. It’s not fair to the customers."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Wegovy worked really well at first. I was terrified of all the horrible first-trimester type side effects everyone littered the internet with, but fortunately for me, I did not experience anything except some constipation, which was easily cured by adding more fruit and veggies to whatever I was able to eat. By the 1mg dose, I started waking up having panic attacks. I have never had depression, anxiety, or any sort of issue like this. I would get triggered by getting disturbed in the middle of my night sleep (which, as a mother, is inevitable). The panics included nausea, shaking (as if I was cold but I wasn’t), writhing and stretching in bed in full body discomfort, and just hysterically uneasy and praying for relief. It happened several times after that, and today as I write this, I just worked through a .5 dose panic attack as I tried to lower the dose, and it didn’t help. Everyone is different, but just know this is from the medicine, and you are not going insane."

Can't keep ginger ale down, can't keep dry toast down. Can't keep plain crackers down. I have no clue where the stuff coming out of me is coming from. I wasn't a big eater prior to the injection, just with my age, I can't seem to drop pounds. With what I've been going through the last 48 hours (and still am), I will not be taking any further injections. Hope it works for all of you, but not for me."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "My experience with Wegovy has been a rollercoaster. In the first week, the 0.25 mg dose was great. In the second week, I started feeling the side effects of nausea, burping, gas, diarrhea, and bloating. I noticed that I did eat more. Make sure your portions are small and stick to fruit and vegetables. Soups and not greasy processed foods. You may feel sick and will take longer to digest. I am currently reconsidering if I should continue. I am not sure if I want to experience the side effects at a higher dose. I feel terrible all the time and have a headache. I feel exhausted all the time."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Lots of annoying side effects without losing any weight the first 4 months. Didn't lose any weight until I started exercising with a diet of less than 1,000 calories a day. Worse side effects: significant sleepiness, especially after eating, severe indigestion, and GERD. Injections easy to do and usually no associated pain. Am finishing my last dose of 1.7 mg this week, and after all these months, I have finally lost 9 lbs, all in the last month, once I started bike riding and water aerobics. But you have to decide if the side effects are worth it. I am retired, so I have been taking a 2-hour nap almost daily since I feel extremely tired a few hours after getting up in the morning. I have felt generally unwell the whole time I have taken it, although I am able to continue my life as usual. I can't wait to get off it, although they say it may be a lifelong medication. I hope that my body will eventually get used to it."
