For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I am in my sixth week of Wegovy (4 weeks at 0.25 and now 2 at 0.5). I am a male in my early 50s, 5'9'' with a lot of weight to lose — about 120 pounds. In the first month, I experienced no side effects apart from reduced appetite and lost 10 pounds. I had just begun dieting when I started — nothing extreme, just eliminating the worst offenders: sugar, not eating after 6pm, and portion control. I have already lost 6 pounds this month. I have experienced some mild nausea this month on the 0.5 dose, nothing close to vomiting but definitely present, especially the two days after injection. Haven't had negative reactions to specific types of food like others have had until yesterday. Had some Korean BBQ and was burping garlic all night with some intestinal discomfort - so I guess that's a no go. I am considering holding at this dose before going up again. As long as the weight loss is happening at this rate, I am not keen to risk greater side effects."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy in Jan. 2022. I didn’t feel much effect for two months, although I lost a few pounds. Starting in the third month, it kicked in. The weight loss isn’t fast, about 4 to 6 lbs a month, which I feel is healthy. I’ve lost 27 pounds. Like others, I had some queasiness, especially in the first few months, but it was quickly resolved with Zofran and has mostly disappeared. I now feel full after smaller portions than before and notice I eat about half as much as previously and feel perfectly satisfied. I’ve read that you tend to gain weight back if you go off the drug and that many doctors feel you should be on it forever, as with other chronic conditions. I hope that’s not the case, as I don’t like the idea of being on any drug forever. In fact, I’m hoping I can also go off blood pressure meds eventually. My goal is to lose another 30 lbs, which now feels entirely doable. My excellent insurance covers it at $25 a month."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I began taking Wegovy in April. The first month was fine, no side effects, but I had to go up to 1 mg because nobody had the .5 mg. This was awful for me, with nausea and constipation. I did go up to the 1.7 mg, which in the first week I was fine. Then began the nausea, throwing up, I felt as if I was pregnant, just as the slightest smells would make me puke. As I got towards the end of my month on 1.7 mg, the sickness went away. I have decided to stay on the 1.7 mg for another month before moving up to the 2.4 mg. I also take it in my stomach, opposed to my arm or thigh. I plan to start taking it in my thigh to see if the side effects are as bad. I have currently lost 14 lbs while being on Wegovy."

I learned very quickly to eat small portions and slowly because I would feel way too full if I tried eating as much as I used to. I tried a couple of weeks ago to eat a whole Popeye's chicken sandwich for lunch. I felt nauseous all day afterward. Half a sandwich is enough. I'm down 10%+ of my weight already. It is very easy. I am just not hungry. The hard part is changing how much to put on my plate. Now that I'm used to taking less, I'm totally fine and don't even think about hunger, cravings, anything. Wow. So happy."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "Today was my 5th injection, so 4 full weeks on Wegovy. I am down 14.2 lbs. I have noticed an increase in nausea at times (but I did already struggle with intermittent nausea prior to starting Wegovy) and some slight dizziness at times. It has curbed my appetite, and truthfully I am craving healthier foods overall. However, I didn't really eat badly before (no soda/sugary drinks, gluten-free, low meat intake, lots of good plant-based proteins and veggies), but I do have a sweet tooth and would find myself eating chocolate when stressed. I still do, but to a much lower extent. I needed to lose the weight to help relieve the pressure on my back. I've struggled to keep weight off and maintain my fitness over the last 7 years since severely injuring my back. Hoping to lose the 60-70 lbs I've gained in that time and now starting to work with a new spine specialist to find a fitness regiment that is doable and sustainable for me to help keep the weight off once I'm done with the injections."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I'm on my 13th week at 1mg now. I love it. Yes, I was nauseated at first, but the quick weight loss results made me want to continue. At this dosage, I am not really hungry for food, and if I do feel hungry, it doesn't take much food for me to feel satisfied. I have really cut my portions and also use high fiber, high protein foods. Constipation is real, people, laxatives help. I make good food choices now and am down 25 lbs. I want to keep going, but the coupon has run out, and now my out-of-pocket cost with insurance is around $900. I am so disappointed to have to stop and worried about gaining back or not losing anymore. Novo really needs to make this affordable. The price is ridiculous, and millions of people are dying from comorbidities to obesity every day. I have high-end insurance, and still cannot afford the copays."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have been taking Wegovy since August 2021. I am down 45 pounds. I did low carb with this which has really helped me to lose the weight I have wanted to lose. The side effects are very real, extreme constipation and nausea for two days after injection. The doctor prescribed Zofran for the nausea and I have taken a stool softener for the constipation. All things said, it really helped curb my appetite. But you have to diet with it."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I started Wegovy in April 2024. I was 193 lbs at just between 5’1”-5’2.5. I had tried everything, but food noise and the fact that being so short, the calorie intake had to be so low to lose weight. Anyway, the first thing I noticed was a bit of nausea. That went away after a few days. I have had very minimal side effects. Sometimes a little nausea, constipation, or diarrhea. Nothing to really disrupt my life. For the first time in my life, I actually can tell when I am full. My IBS has been almost non-existent. I’m more awake. I have fewer sweet cravings. The food noise is still there, but my stomach is able to signal my brain that if I eat more, I will feel sick. I have lost to date 4/2024-3/2025, 63 lbs. I am just about to hit my normal weight goal. I knew how to lose the weight. I am someone who has a very difficult time shedding the weight with exercise and diet. I am super grateful for this opportunity to prove that a drug works so well."

I've had very mild side effects, a little nausea occasionally, particularly the first few days after increasing dosage. I have ongoing GI issues that have made it worse a few times in the last 6 months, but nothing too serious. I was nervous about injecting myself weekly, but it has been relatively easy and painless for me. I'm finally getting clear signals to stop eating when I'm full. I used to think eating a full plate of pasta was no big deal, and now I eat less pasta in general, but if I do, I aim for no more than half, and usually it's closer to a third of a plate with the addition of a small side of non-starchy vegetables. I've been seeing a nutritionist too, and they've been so helpful in making lifelong diet changes. Right before I started taking Wegovy, I looked at the reviews on here and it nearly scared me away. I'm so glad it didn't. Wegovy has been such a helpful tool in my health journey."

I have titrated up accordingly, and to this date, I have currently lost 100 lbs with only diet modification due to mobility restrictions. I was borderline diabetic with high cholesterol before I started. As for side effects, I struggled with overwhelming nausea up to the 2.4 mg dose, and now I only have nausea the first day of the injection or if I eat something that doesn't agree with me or I eat one bite too much. Personally, I have found having this medication available to me extremely beneficial, as I gained 100+ lbs due to medical issues and mobility restrictions over a four-year period. I feel so much better, I look better, and my labs are WAY better. The injection is easy to use."

Have not done anything extraordinary, try to make healthy choices and drink lots of water. Sometimes go for walks. Will continue to use this until I've reached ideal numbers. I like it, no problems so far. Just need to pay attention to hydration and nutrition. Sometimes experience nausea, drink water, take a Gravol. I titrated up through the doses with some nausea while doing that, but manageable and tolerable. I began to see the weight come off gradually. Now I've been on the maintenance dose of 2.4 for 5-6 months and currently fluctuate between 143-145 pounds, weighing 143 today. I must say Wegovy was the best choice I've made with all other failed attempts to lose weight. I am no longer pre-diabetic, and I no longer take blood pressure medication. My labs look great as well. My starting weight was 296. Currently, I weigh 266, and my numbers are great. The cons are I only feel good 4 days a week. The first 3 days after the injection are tough: nausea, headaches. But as far as I’m concerned, it works great. I’m not hungry at all. I feel much better. Another added bonus for me was I was a heavy drinker. On this medication, I have no desire to drink at all. I really had no bad symptoms, however, due to availability, I had to stay on a few of the doses for a couple of months at a time. I am now at the highest dose, and this one and the one before did cause a little nausea, but it goes away. I started at 320 lbs, I am now down to 210 lbs. My goal was to lose half of me, so I'm still working on the last 50 lbs, averaging 2 to 5 lbs a month or so, sometimes more. So good luck to you all. For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I have taken 1 dose of the 0.25 mg. Tomorrow I will be taking my 2nd dose. So it has been 6 days for me. I have already lost 4 lbs. I was very nauseated and had some heartburn the first 24 hours after I took the dose. It got better with Pepto-Bismol and Tums. I didn't really get sick after that day. I don't have an appetite at all. I eat enough to keep me healthy, no more. I have gotten mild nausea once when I ate some chocolate chip cookies, but no nausea with healthy foods like fruit and veggies. I haven't done much exercise either."

For Weight Loss (Obesity/Overweight) "I’m on the starter dose 0.25 mg. I have had zero side effects. Mild nausea in a car - not sure if related? No real appetite, but I am able to eat. No food aversions, but no cravings. I didn’t want a glass of wine after work. My clothes already feel different after 2 weeks. I’m so thankful to be on this journey as my primary did not support me asking for help losing weight. I do not overeat or have issues with food. I had a fractured knee, then a hip replacement, and then two fractured ankles. I was unable to move normally for 2.5 years and gained about 50 lbs. I started having back pain and foot pain from the weight. I tried dieting, but I am a single mom that doesn't have time to cook healthy every night, and I work around food, so I told my doctor he has to prescribe me something to lose weight. He saw it was taking a toll on my health as well, so he started me on .25 Wegovy injections. I lost 13 pounds my first month. I had nausea once or twice, nothing I couldn't handle, and I vomited only once. I even had more energy. Then he prescribed me the .5 the next month, but pharmacies all in a 30-mile radius were on backorder for the entire summer with no hopes of getting it in until the end of September. I kept being persistent with the pharmacist, and she said, have your doctor call me, he can up your milligram, and we can get that dose in 2 days, so at this point, I was desperate and starting to gain back the 13 pounds I lost. So I was upped to 1.7. OMG"
