For Plaque Psoriasis "My grandma had it bad. Then, at 49, I got it bad. Tried Humira, no luck. Now I've been on Cosentyx for about 14 months. The thick plaques are gone. The doctor did have to up me to 450 mg a month as of last week. It kind of makes my stomach hurt, but I'd rather have a tummy ache than be itching to death. I never knew how tough Granny was. This stuff isn't cheap, but I was ready to just die. Feel better now."

For Plaque Psoriasis "Truly a miracle drug for me. 50 years old. Had some plaques but not many. One large one on my right ankle. Got strep throat, and it literally took over 90% of my body. Developed left-hand joint pain and swelling. Got put straight onto Cosentyx (300 mg/2 pens). Been on it for 9 months now, and I am entirely clear with zero side effects. It took a solid 3 months before it was entirely gone. But honestly, this particular biologic has been nothing short of a miracle for me."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I found Cosentyx to be very effective. Stubborn lesions on my shins cleared up after a few months, which included a weekly loading dose that tapered off to once a month. However, I am very discouraged as I can no longer afford this med, as my out-of-pocket maximum has almost tripled since last year. So, I had to go off of it. Much to my chagrin, Medicare patients are not eligible for financial assistance! So my psoriasis is back with a vengeance!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I've had psoriasis since I was 5 years old, the moderate to severe form of it. I developed psoriatic arthritis on top of my already moderate to severe psoriasis after being abruptly removed from Stelara in 2016 when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. After I had the thyroidectomy, I developed a psoriatic arthritis flare, it's believed to have been brought on by the endocrinologist abruptly stopping my Stelara injections (most doctors don't understand biologic medication). I started Cosentyx in September 2018, and I have been 100% clear ever since. Self-injecting is easy, peasy: 30 minutes on the countertop and a couple of minutes under my armpit (yup), no pain, only mild bruising. I have to say, for me, Cosentyx has not been a miracle for my psoriatic arthritis flare that has been ongoing now for 2.5 years, attacking my tendons and now knees. This disease stinks and has left me housebound a lot... awful. Remember, all magic comes with a price!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "Been living with psoriasis for over 20 years. Tried everything from pills to ointments, it helped a little, but nothing like Cosentyx. I am still in the early stages, just finished my weekly shots, and I already see a huge improvement. The itch is completely gone, and I can see the redness is clearing on a daily basis. Even my arm hair over the plaque has started growing again. I am thankful that I have insurance, as I hear it is quite expensive...10k per dose...I strongly recommend this treatment, it might change your life, it did for me."

For Plaque Psoriasis "After my second loading dose, I had an allergic reaction. My face became swollen, and I had to go to the ER. My lungs felt heavy, and I was given an EpiPen. I also became nauseous and vomited. While I hope this drug works for others, it did not for me!"

For Psoriasis "First sign of guttate psoriasis in my twenties, then really nothing again until 40s. Ten years of individual cortisone shots into about 30 to 50 pencil eraser spots every 6 weeks kept it somewhat at bay. Dermatologist retired, new young guy said no more of that! Enbrel, Humira, light treatment of no help. 58 and clear for a year on Cosentyx. My worry is if and when it will quit working."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I started Cosentyx after my dermatologist did a biopsy on 2 spots, and it came back psoriasis. She also suspected psoriatic arthritis due to my complaints of joint pain. After expensive lab work to check for TB/hepatitis, I was started on the 5-week starting dose of Cosentyx at 300 mg/week. After week 3-4, I noticed more sinus trouble than normal, developed an acne-like rash on both sides of my chest, psoriasis developed in my ears/lobes, and my scalp worsened. It did not do a thing for me, and I do regret taking it. I found a new dermatologist who told me to discontinue Cosentyx, gave me topicals, and wants me to start Humira to treat PA and psoriasis. I’m nervous due to the reaction and lower immunity but was told I need to treat PA or my joints will worsen. For years of not knowing I had psoriasis, then getting the diagnosis and treatment has been life-altering. I feel that Cosentyx made things worse and was not for me."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "I wasn't diagnosed with AS until my late 40s. When all the damage is already done, and your sacroiliac joints are fused together, I guess you can't expect anything to help the pain much. Humira and Enbrel didn't help me much, either. After 6 months, it's time to try something else. There are only 3 other Rx meds approved for AS I have yet to try. People lucky enough to be diagnosed at a younger age should consider getting on a biologic before the damage is already done and it's too late to get any better!"

For Non-Radiographic Axial Spondyloarthritis "I have psoriatic spondylitis that is now worsening over the last two years to PSA. Cosentyx was the first drug I started on. I found the injection hard to push in without it burning. The biggest things that hit me within a couple of days were bone-crushing fatigue that had me holding onto furniture and the wall and bedbound by day 4. I ran labs and it tanked my B12 by 400 points within a week. I also have hormone records at the time, and my testosterone and thyroid took a nosedive AFTER one dose of this injection. Then the headaches, vision issues, and pain, though not as severe as the fatigue, were worrisome. I decided to stop the drug at that point. Any drug that is hitting me in multiple spots and is keeping me from performing my responsibilities is NOT a drug I will continue to inject in myself."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Stated this drug for Ankylosing spondylitis as in October after other biologics stopped working on 150 mg monthly. Very lightheaded, fatigued joints, sore, tired all the time. I don't think this one has helped at all. I have a review with rheumatologist on 20th Feb (1st review since starting this biologic). I'm gonna tell him it is no better. I've had AS since 2001, so I know by now what works. I found Enbrel was the best one for me till it stopped working."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Severe as for 54 years - bilateral hip replacements 30 years ago - total fusion of spine - Been on Remicade for 10 plus years. Doc gave me a 150 mg injection of Cosentyx 1 week post 200 mg Remicade infusion. Started shaking uncontrollably for an hour followed by chills until early morning. Then the whole body itching and runny nose started followed by hives near the injection site. My eyes were the worst and wouldn't stop itching, and I started wheezing with each breath. Took almost 30 days for the symptoms to stop. Told the doc, and she thought it was just a cold and wanted to continue Cosentyx. Absolutely no way I would take it again. Back to Remicade. Tip - what also helps my AS is doxycycline - 100 once per day. Try it."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I used Enbrel for several years before switching to Humira. Like Enbrel, Humira worked great for a number of years until its effect started to fade a little. My dermatologist suggested that I give Cimzia a try. After about a month, I started to scab up in both ears and both eyes near the tear ducts. I've never had psoriasis in these locations and hoped that it would be temporary and go away. I was prescribed two other medications to go with the Cosentyx, one for my ears and another for my eyes. Unfortunately, after 4 months, the ears and eyes have only gotten worse. I've realized that Cosentyx is not for me. I start Cimzia next week. Really looking forward to looking and feeling normal again."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I tried all sorts of medications and treatment for a couple of years, such as UV light, steroid cream, HUMIRA, but when my new dermatologist prescribed me COSENTYX, after a couple of weeks of injections, I could see some improvements and continued taking it. Now I'm all healed up."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I am at week 17 and am 100% clear. I had a throat infection with a high fever for 3 days at week 12, other than that, no side effects. My joints feel tender, but it may be from the reduced swelling making them ‘looser.’ The only other drawback is the $$ for the med. I am still working to get coverage."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "This medication should come with a caution sign all over it! If I could leave a negative rating, I would. I lost 50 lbs in 2 months and went into liver failure. I was a skeleton. I couldn't walk or even eat. This drug gave me stomach aches that were so severe, I ended up in the hospital a couple of times. It was so hard for me to do anything, but I had to force myself if I wanted to survive. I nearly died from this drug, and I am only 18 years old. I ended up having Crohn's disease as well, but my doctor had no idea at the time of this medication. Therefore, the extreme stomach pain and nausea. The smell of food made me throw up. Before this drug, I was on Humira, then Enbrel, (then Cosentyx), then Stelara, and finally Cimzia. Now trying Simponi in hopes something will work. I even tried Xeljanz and no luck."

For Psoriasis "I was taking methotrexate for my psoriasis on my hands for several months, and my hands were almost clean, but I felt like I had the flu all the time, so I started using Cosentyx. After 6 weeks, my fingers are splitting again, and they are in worse shape than before I started taking the methotrexate. I don’t want to go back to methotrexate!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have been on Cosentyx for 6 years, and it has been a life changer. Before starting Cosentyx, I tried everything for my psoriasis and joint pain, nothing worked until my doctor told me about Cosentyx. I was one of her first patients to be put on Cosentyx and have been using it ever since-awesome medication."

For Psoriasis "Cosentyx has changed my life. I had terrible psoriasis for years. My head was red, and everyone could see. My knees had it so bad they would bleed. I couldn't wear shorts because it looked so bad, and I was humiliated explaining to people what psoriasis was every time. It was really hard on me. I tried everything. I went to many doctors, and they all gave me expensive products that barely worked, and only for a short time. As soon as I was put on Cosentyx, my knees were completely cleared, my embarrassing red forehead cleared 100%. I have been on it for about a year and haven't had one flare-up. I understand it may have different results for everyone, but I was willing to try anything to get rid of the pain and scuffing. I'm so glad I tried this."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have been on Cosentyx for 16 months, and it has cleared about 80% of my plaque psoriasis, but for the last 3 months, I have had sinus issues that will not go away. It feels like I have a constant cold, and I'm thinking of asking to switch to something else. It doesn't seem to clear the psoriasis on my feet either, like Otezla did."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Switched to Cosentyx in 2017 for plaque psoriasis. Three months later, came the ankylosing diagnosis. To date, 7/22, it has been an absolute lifesaver for me. Psoriasis 100% clear and a tremendous help with low back and hip pain. Hoping for these results to be a lifetime. 2 150 mg/ml pens a month and get on with life."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Was on loading dose for 5 weeks. Then increased by 50 mg every two weeks, upped to 300 mg after 4 months. Loss of mobility, back, ankle, shoulder pain, lots of inflammation. I was thriving on Enbrel but had to come off it 6 months in, deteriorating, and now will have to go back to the drawing board."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I was put on Cosentyx by my rheumatologist as a first-line biologic. I was very keen for this drug to be my miracle, but unfortunately, it was a nightmare. After the first injection, a day later, I had a rash begin on my bum and was very sore and inflamed. The pain then moved into my bowel, giving me bad lower bowel pain. My rheumatologist sent me for a colonoscopy looking for IBD. The colonoscopy came back clear, and I was told to proceed. The same thing happened on the next injection, the pain was so bad I didn’t sleep for days. I proceeded with the third injection after being told it would get better. It definitely did not, and I was living with no sleep, severe pain, and couldn’t go to the bathroom. I have stopped Cosentyx two months since my last injection and am on probiotics and medicine to calm my digestive system to heal, I am still very sore. No diarrhea or blood, but very painful. Please, if you get these symptoms, don’t proceed, stop, and try another biologic. I am now on Humira and have no problems."
