For Psoriatic Arthritis "I’ve been on Cosentyx for about 8 months for PsA. About 4 months in, my right eye started twitching. My rheumatologist said it was due to me being overly tired or under a great deal of stress, neither of which I am. Has anyone else had a similar reaction? Overall, it has helped my PsA, but the twitching is very annoying!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "First, let me say that I am so thankful for biologics to treat psoriasis and make it possible to live and enjoy life without scales covering 100 percent of my body. Enbrel worked great for years. It stopped being effective. I tried Stelara and Humira, but didn't work for me. Thank God for Cosentyx. After the loading doses and first month thereafter, I am about 98 percent clear. This is the clearest I've been in a long time. So easy to administer, zero pay with assistance copay, and clear skin... with no side effects yet."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been on Cosentyx for over 6 years now after trying Enbrel, methotrexate, and a 3-year stint in a clinical trial. It has done wonders for me. My skin is 97% clear. I do have 3 tiny patches, but I am okay with that. I am not hiding and have more self-esteem. I sleep better at night, no more cracking skin and blood spots on my sheets or clothing. I have had PSA for almost 20 years. I know when I get sick (I had strep throat last year), my skin cracks up, so I try to keep healthy. Does anyone know if I can still use Cosentyx if I get pregnant? My joints are manageable now as well. I love this life-saving drug!!!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Been on for over a year. Psoriasis is gone and arthritis for the most part lessened but for my hands. I need to treat them with pain-relieving roll-ons and lotions every day. I can live with that situation but am having real trouble with exhaustion as some days I cannot get out of my own way. It really affects my daily life as three to four days out of the week I am very limited in doing much at all."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have suffered with this debilitating and embarrassing disease for more than 10 years. Creams, steroids, and light therapy made no difference. I am on week 5 of Cosentyx and experienced a severe cold and cough that I could not fight due to the weakened immune system. Other than that, this is proving to be a miracle for me. Almost clear! I cannot remember the last time my skin felt soft and itch-free. No more flaky scalp and body! I am hoping that the great results continue and wish the best to all other users!"

For Plaque Psoriasis "It's been five weeks since I started taking Cosentyx, and now I am completely clear of psoriasis, but I have now begun very, very, very bad aching bones/joints, very nauseous, my bones have hurt so bad that I'm having so much trouble sleeping. I've gone to the emergency room because of the pain. The ER said everything's fine, so I'm gonna continue taking Cosentyx for maybe 2 more months, but I'm very scared of what's going on with my body. If my body continues to feel like this, I will definitely quit."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Diagnosed with AS 11-20. Earlier in the year, I fractured my S/I joint from sports. Over 9 months, docs treating me for fractured S/I joint. MRIs continued to show growing edema up the spine. Was on crutches for 6 months. Referred to rheum doctor and was told I have AS. After the AS diagnosis, 5 weeks of loading dose (300). After that, I went to once a month, still 300. I felt I had immediate positive results, big changes quickly. No need for the crutches. On monthly doses for 3 months. The quick positive changes have slowed down, but I still feel better than in 2020. Occasional fatigue, but I credit that to lack of activity for over a year. I went from playing competitive sports three nights a week to nothing, so I was out of shape. I’ve had none of the side effects I’ve read on these reviews except some fatigue. I’m willing to continue treatment. Had I read these reviews prior to starting treatment, I may have declined. I’m off crutches, and I’m feeling better than I did. I’m in my 50s."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had plaque psoriasis for the last 20 years. Over the last 5 years, it has gotten progressively worse. I have failed Humira, Enbrel, and several other biologics. I have been on Cosentyx for 6 months. After about 2 months into treatment, I experienced about 95 percent clearing. After my 2nd maintenance dose, I noticed a few patches reoccurring. I am now six months into treatment and am experiencing about a 35 percent reappearance of previously clear areas."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have been on Cosentyx now for 5 months. I went from severe to 95% clear, with no side effects so far. Zero sugar, low carb, high-fat diet; exercise; and sun/UV on the rash are also very important to keep it clear. Also, the plaques have largely to do with a biofilm, sticky fungus-bacteria environment, created by normal/harmless skin Malassezia and Staphylococcus varieties. Your body can't break down the biofilm, but these can: chitinase, essential oils (thyme oil, rosemary oil, eucalyptus oil, etc.), sugar alcohols (xylitol, etc.). I make lotions with these and fractionated coconut oil (which are anti-Malassezia saturated fat chains) to break down the psoriasis plaques so they can heal. Active vitamin D prescription ointment (calcitriol)."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I took Cosentyx for severe psoriasis beginning in February 2019. I saw good results, with est. 80% plaque clear up in under 4 weeks. However, within the first 6 weeks, I developed new onset Crohn's disease. Nobody in my family has a history of IBS. I lost almost half my body weight, suffered severe pain, bleeding, and missed months of work. The doctor doing my colonoscopy couldn't even get a third of the way in without harming me. I'm not alone in this experience, there are other people who have had this experience. Novartis' website still claims that new onset Crohn's or IBS is not possible. I am now on Remicade, supported by a high weekly dose of methotrexate, just to avoid having a flare-up. I have not had a flare-up since stopping Cosentyx. The risk of severe, violent Crohn's is not worth using this drug."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have had vertigo symptoms, extreme joint pain, fatigue, as a result of all medications that supposedly treat psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. So far, every medication I’ve tried has made me much worse. Humira attacked my heart and almost killed me. The steroids caused panic attacks, shortness of breath, and high blood pressure. That’s just to name a few! I think these medications are poison to anyone’s system. I have decided to avoid medications altogether. I still have pain, but at least I don’t have ten to twenty other awful side effects to go with it. Not to mention, none of the medications ever helped with my pain anyway. If anything, they only made my pain worse."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Experienced headaches, exhaustion, and UTI symptoms while on this drug. Also, several areas of psoriasis seem worse, redder, and painful. Did help slightly with accompanying joint pain but not enough to warrant tolerating the side effects."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have had psoriasis for 30 years. I've used many topical ointments, light therapy, and Enbrel. I've also tried many home remedies and recommendations; however, nothing worked to clear my skin, and my arthritis got worse. I started Cosentyx, and after 3 weekly shots, my skin started clearing. By my second monthly shot, my skin was completely cleared everywhere! My arthritis is already much better after the 3rd monthly shot and hardly noticeable at all. If you are a candidate, I highly recommend this course of therapy. The shots are barely painful (I am a wimp)."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Took the 4-week loading dose of Cosentyx, then took 2 months of 150 mg, then have taken two months at 300 mg. I have had zero improvement in my plaque psoriasis, and while I am able to function physically, I definitely am not pain-free like I was when on Enbrel. Switched from Enbrel to Cosentyx to try and combat the psoriasis. Have had diarrhea consistently ever since starting the drug. Will not be continuing Cosentyx, as it doesn't do its job."

For Ankylosing Spondylitis "Game changer for me. I have just turned 37 years old, and this drug has given me my life back. I played football for over 12 years and was always injured, major back and hip problems. Then when I stopped, my GP figured out why. A rheumatologist diagnosed me at age 34 after years of agony. Tried all NSAIDs, and nothing worked, I couldn’t walk further than 0.5 km without agonizing pain. From being a fit and slim athletic mother of 3 children to being a cripple. I can now play ball with my kids again, go for long walks, etc., without any pain whatsoever. Miracle drug for me. I will say it takes a few months to work, so please give it time, it’s worth the wait."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "1,000 characters is not enough space to put down the information for these kinds of medications. I tried to summarize diagnoses: January 2018, Cosentyx: January 2019, current date: August 2019, disease: psoriatic arthritis. Side effects: next to none besides some mild diarrhea. Time to work: 24 hours. Full effect: month. I cannot walk without medication and am in horrendous pain all the time. With this, the pain is mostly gone with some bad flare-ups, but it keeps everything manageable and I no longer need a cane. It is expensive, and you will have to try NSAIDs and DMARDs before getting approval. They dealt with my insurance directly. It has worked great. I would say slightly less effective since I started, but going strong, and I will stay on it. Give it a try if you are able."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I'm thrilled with Cosentyx! My doctor made me try the other one, Taltz, and I got horrible injection site reactions from it. Cosentyx started clearing my skin after the first injection, and by a month, I was almost clear for the first time in years! Swimsuit, here I come! Oh, and their plan brings my copay to zero, and it's not based on my income. Did I say I love this medicine?"

For Plaque Psoriasis "Out of nowhere, in my 50s, I developed plaque psoriasis. The local dermatologists did not seem to know how to help me. I was put on heavy steroids and other medicines that made my life miserable. Muscle aches, unable to sleep, and rashes that bled up at the merest touch. I found a specialist in New York City, and she is my angel! I was put on Sterela, which helped. Then I was switched over to Cosentyx, and my life changed. I am almost 100% cured, as long as I keep taking the injections. The side effects that I've noticed are more frequent cold sores and a stuffy nose. I take Valtrex at the same time I take the injection, and the cold sores have stopped. The stuffy nose, I can deal with. This product is a miracle."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I am not sure yet if it is coincident or not, but shortly after starting Cosentyx, I experienced extreme pain while urinating to the point of even passing blood. I was taken off the medication for approximately 2 months for other medical issues, including UTI, and started seeing a slight improvement. (At this time, we didn't consider that this could be a side effect.) I was given the startup dose again because of the gap in treatment, and by the third shot (startup dose), I was experiencing extreme pain again. I have been taken off the medication again to see if the bladder pain will improve. Not thinking what I am experiencing is worth taking the medication. While on the medication, I do not feel there was any improvement in the arthritis pain."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Was given my first two-shot booster and nothing happened at all. After 5 weeks with one shot a week, I have no improvement at all. Suddenly felt sick and sleepy all the time and got the worst vaginal yeast infection I have ever had along with urinary tract issues. Not going to continue this treatment. Just glad that my medical insurance didn't pay the 16 thousand dollars that big pharma mercy wanted for a three-month treatment!"

For Psoriasis "Tried this for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and severe psoriasis. Initially got worse, especially psoriasis. After 3 injections, I started to feel better, psoriasis was going away. Only side effect was minor nausea. After a few months, my psoriasis cleared up completely. Psoriasis that covered over 80% of my body. Gone. Then the issues. Joint pain and severe fatigue set in. I'm not sure if fatigue was med-related or disease-related. After not tolerating pain, after 6 months, I was off the drug and on to the next. I have been on Remicade, Humira, Cosentyx, Simponi Aria, and now Cimzia. Remicade was by far the best, but after many years, I developed antibodies. All these drugs failed. I'm now on Cimzia. We will see... All biologics work differently for people! Remember that! What may work for you may not work for others. If you had side effects, that doesn't mean others will. If you have psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis, I would skip everything and try Cosentyx."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I've had psoriatic arthritis for over 55 years. Embrel was the new wonder drug, that is, until I started to suffer with scrotal abscesses. I stopped Embrel and hoped my body would stay clear of psoriasis. No such luck. Psoriasis came back with a vengeance. I'm now trying Cosentyx. 1st injection 21-05-19, the skin is starting to clear, but, and here is the but, I've got a sore throat, I'm wheezy, ache all over and feel tired all the time."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I have been on Enbrel, Humira, Otezla, and Stelara and various topicals over the past 15 years or so. Each medication seemed to reach a plateau as far as effectiveness, which is why I moved on to another. I've been on Cosentyx a little less than 2 months, and my psoriasis is worse than it's ever been. I spoke with my dermatologist and was told that Cosentyx seems to take a bit of time to see positive results. Their experience has been that right around the third month, improvement is seen. That's the only reason I am staying with it for another month or two. After reading all these glowing comments about having clearer skin in weeks or a month, I'm a little discouraged that my psoriasis has gone 1000% in the other direction."
