For Plaque Psoriasis "It's been five weeks since I started taking Cosentyx, and now I am completely clear of psoriasis, but I have now begun very, very, very bad aching bones/joints, very nauseous, my bones have hurt so bad that I'm having so much trouble sleeping. I've gone to the emergency room because of the pain. The ER said everything's fine, so I'm gonna continue taking Cosentyx for maybe 2 more months, but I'm very scared of what's going on with my body. If my body continues to feel like this, I will definitely quit."

For Psoriasis "Tried this for rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and severe psoriasis. Initially got worse, especially psoriasis. After 3 injections, I started to feel better, psoriasis was going away. Only side effect was minor nausea. After a few months, my psoriasis cleared up completely. Psoriasis that covered over 80% of my body. Gone. Then the issues. Joint pain and severe fatigue set in. I'm not sure if fatigue was med-related or disease-related. After not tolerating pain, after 6 months, I was off the drug and on to the next. I have been on Remicade, Humira, Cosentyx, Simponi Aria, and now Cimzia. Remicade was by far the best, but after many years, I developed antibodies. All these drugs failed. I'm now on Cimzia. We will see... All biologics work differently for people! Remember that! What may work for you may not work for others. If you had side effects, that doesn't mean others will. If you have psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis, I would skip everything and try Cosentyx."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "Getting ready for my third 300 mg dose. I get nausea all the time. I just don't feel right. I have IBS and have been under control for some time. It has flared up now. I know it's just been three weeks, but my fingers are no better and very painful. If this continues after finishing the recommended dosing of 4 weeks, I'm not going to continue. Not worth it if you have to deal with all the side effects and still have pain."

For Plaque Psoriasis "I just started taking Cosentyx for plaque psoriasis. I took my 4 weeks of injection and now am on my once-a-month injection. I have cleared up but am still not sure what it will do taking only once a month. This is the trial period, but so far, so good. Every now and then, I still itch some, but nothing like before. No side effects, which is great because everything I tried before had side effects and I had to stop taking it. I felt so bad all the time, nausea was extreme."

For Plaque Psoriasis "After my second loading dose, I had an allergic reaction. My face became swollen, and I had to go to the ER. My lungs felt heavy, and I was given an EpiPen. I also became nauseous and vomited. While I hope this drug works for others, it did not for me!"

For Psoriatic Arthritis "This medication should come with a caution sign all over it! If I could leave a negative rating, I would. I lost 50 lbs in 2 months and went into liver failure. I was a skeleton. I couldn't walk or even eat. This drug gave me stomach aches that were so severe, I ended up in the hospital a couple of times. It was so hard for me to do anything, but I had to force myself if I wanted to survive. I nearly died from this drug, and I am only 18 years old. I ended up having Crohn's disease as well, but my doctor had no idea at the time of this medication. Therefore, the extreme stomach pain and nausea. The smell of food made me throw up. Before this drug, I was on Humira, then Enbrel, (then Cosentyx), then Stelara, and finally Cimzia. Now trying Simponi in hopes something will work. I even tried Xeljanz and no luck."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis 11 years ago and have not been able to find anything to cut my pain and the debilitating effects of the disease. I have gone through assorted pain management programs, and they are either ineffective or my body rejects them to the point of hospitalization. Combining my disease with type 2 diabetes and massive amounts of neuropathy, I find myself in a tough situation physically and mentally. When I take my monthly Cosentyx shots, I get violently ill for a few days, and then my joint pain increases for a few days followed by intense itching and redness. It has cleared up 80% of my skin and maybe 10% of my joint pain, but it doesn't help enough. Thank you for allowing me to share and vent a little because it is a lonely battle. A tip of the cap and a hoist of the cup to the warriors who live it and the angels who support them."
