"It worked really well for my generalized anxiety and dissociative disorder, made it manageable. But even on a low dose, it has made me pile on the pounds. I've put on 2 stone. I was on a 100 mg dose and managed to reduce to 75 mg because of the weight gain. I am trying to get off it because of the weight, but it's very hard. The withdrawal symptoms are quite strong, can't sleep at all without taking it, and they don't seem to get better with time. I tried a week with no sleep, so going to try VERY gradual withdrawal."

"After a lifetime of depression, anxiety, and mood swings, this medication has finally been a godsend. I’ve tried many antidepressants and a number of antipsychotics, but quetiapine is the only medication to calm me enough to be able to think clearly and make non-emotional choices. I take half a tablet (a tablet is 25mg) in the morning, half a tablet at midday, and a whole tablet at night. I don’t feel tired on it, just calm - it’s like my brain is clear of emotions so I can think without reacting."

"I have severe anxiety (GAD, SAD, OCD, panic disorder, agoraphobia), and was prescribed this as a when-required medicine. When I visited the hospital for worsening panic attacks, I was given this, and the psychiatrist straight up told me that the goal was to make me too tired to be anxious. My instructions were to take 12.5 mg twice per day (morning/night). I don't know why, but I guess this is either stronger than all the other psych meds I've tried, or I'm sensitive to it somehow. I couldn't attend school because I was so tired constantly, I slept for, I think, 16 hours straight, but the quality of it was absolutely terrible-nightmares, sweating, frequently waking up and then falling back asleep. Also, it gave me constipation. I take trazodone every night as well, but both these meds are at a low dose, so the doctor wasn't concerned. I don't know. It's certainly not for me, but it does wonders for others!!"

"I have found quetiapine to be immensely effective in managing my anxiety. I take a 25 mg every night before bed, so it helps me sleep (especially when I can't seem to turn my brain off!). I tried going without it for a while as I was trying to lose weight, and my doctor said the quetiapine likely contributed to my weight gain. I only lasted about 10 days without it. My anxiety was unmanageable, and I wasn't sleeping. Other than weight gain, I haven't had any adverse side effects."

"I've been taking quetiapine for 10 years. 10 years ago, I didn't notice any difference, only physically, these tablets gave me a stomach ulcer overnight, but mentally, I never noticed a difference. Back in March 2019, I stopped using quetiapine, and for 3 months, I was a wreck. I can't describe how I was. After trying 3 months off quetiapine, I ended up so scared and paranoid, I was convinced a neighbor was plotting to take me down. Anyway, I chose to go back on quetiapine, and the difference in only 48 hours was so shocking. I now know this drug is a miracle for me. It's just a shame it upset my stomach to the point I can no longer smoke cigs or vape. My dose is 600mg for borderline personality disorder and anxiety disorders."

"I sleep much better with Seroquel. I have anxiety and sleep like a baby. I take 25mg and find myself clear-headed, calmer, and refreshed in the morning. I read about the side effects and am concerned, although do not experience the weight gain. I watch how much I eat and may get some water retention from it but that is it. My weight has only gained a few pounds, if any. I do worry about eye problems. I had my first experience with an ocular migraine a few months ago and wondering if that is related to this medicine."

"I was prescribed 25 mg to be taken as needed for anxiety. The first time I took it, I only took half a pill as suggested by my doctor, this knocked me out. I switched to 1/4 tablet and take it as needed before bed. I have taken the medication like this for 6+ years now and have had no problems. I have seen a significant decrease in my anxiety and have elevated mood or affect the day after taking it, with the only side effect being grogginess. I was taking Klonopin before this but hated how addictive it was. I have intermittent severe anxiety with paranoia and occasional auditory hallucinations, mania, and depression, all of which is helped by even the super low dose of Seroquel."

"I take 600 mg at night. The XR slow-release version made me very dizzy, so I take the immediate-release version. Anxiety is completely gone, I sleep well, and along with the Effexor SSRI, I'm back to my normal happy self. It saved my life."

"I sleep much better now that I'm on quetiapine. I feel calmer and my mind isn't racing as much. I take 100 mg at night to sleep, feel very drowsy when I wake, and my knees feel like jelly, but I am grateful for a good night's sleep."

"This drug has been a lifesaver from my anxiety and insomnia. Maybe there are a few minor side effects, drowsiness being the worst, but I take 25 mg at night and can finally sleep. The first couple of days were pretty rough, heart pounding, and felt like a zombie, but as time goes on, that seems to be subsiding. I have a bit of an eating disorder, and Seroquel helps me with eating. I don't mind gaining a few pounds on this drug, considering I was a 110-pound, 20-year-old man. This drug saved my life, took me out of a deep depression stage, and helped with my anxiety. Other drugs I tried didn't work: Ativan, Xanax, clonazepam, clorazepate, Valium, Buspar, Nozinan, Zoloft, mirtazapine (don't ever take this drug, it gave me seizures), Prozac, and many others. Seroquel has worked wonders for me."

"I'm a 25-year-old woman who is recovering from a hysterectomy, and my psychiatrist prescribed Seroquel - 50 mg at night to help me cope with my GAD before and after my hysterectomy. So far, it's helped significantly with my GAD and PTSD. It is quite sedating, but it's nothing too intense, more so relaxing and definitely helpful since falling asleep was an issue. Now, I sleep through most nights! I've read some reviews, and some people have had terrible luck with this drug. My rule of thumb is always to talk with your doctor and seriously weigh the side effects against your long-term quality of life. Some drugs don't always mix well with certain people, but only you could know that and make that call. For me, this drug is worth its weight in gold!"

"I have anxiety, phobias, social phobias, panic attacks, stress, general anxiety disorder. Seroquel was one of the best medicines I got for my heavy panic attacks and anxiety, etc. Seroquel stabilized me very well in all of my problems, and I continue taking it for 6 months. One of the best antipsychotic drugs out there. I recommend it to you. Also, it causes anxiolytic and sleep effects, which I would like when you can't sleep much."

"Last year I was put on Effexor for anxiety and ended up becoming manic. The doctor in the ER put me on this and Epival to stop the rapid cycling mania. Now that I have it under control, they removed the Epival but kept me on this for my extreme anxiety. I take 600 mg at night, it is a pretty high dose, but the higher the dose with this med, the less sedating it is, believe it or not. It has been a lifesaver, yes, the first month was tough, I would wake up slurring my words and very confused, but now after 5 months it works great. I have not gained much weight from it, around 15 lbs, which I needed as I was severely underweight. I am very happy with this medication, it calms my ADD and my anxiety."

"I have GAD since I was 16 years old and tried many SSRIs like Paroxetine. I've been on Lexapro 20 mg for over 12 years and feeling good in general, but since I am approaching my menopause (I am 48 yo now), I started to feel very high anxiety levels (I was about to take my life) and started Seroquel for a few days. I am slowly feeling like me again. This medicine saved my life, so far."

"I've been on Seroquel XR 50 mg for the past 8 months for generalized anxiety disorder and intrusive racing thoughts. Only take it in the evening before bedtime. This helps me sleep through the night and not wake up in the middle of the night with panic/anxiety issues! It is somewhat sedating, and I do have issues waking up in the morning, but coffee helps. I didn't gain any weight on it, as it helps me get going during the day on things that would usually drive me into a panic situation! I actually enjoy going out for walks and socializing now, as opposed to being apprehensive and terrified of (insert intrusive thoughts)! Needs some adjustments occasionally; on weeks I'm doing well, I only take half of the 50 mg dose and do okay."

"50 mg helps neutralize a borderline personality disorder, anxiety, and paranoid episode. I find in this state it does not make me sleep, but rather calms me enough to not act in a rash, impulsive manner, and helps quiet my irrational thoughts."

"8 years ago I had a psychotic episode which resulted in being sectioned under the Mental Health Act 1983 (UK). I don't have a mental health condition. Back in the day, you would say I had a breakdown, but it's actually recorded as an acute psychotic episode. It has taken me a long time to get back to who I was, but now that I am on a dose of 50 mg. I don't overthink things anymore. If your doc has prescribed these for psychotic symptoms, I would try and bear with it. After the first, the side effects are quite bad. I was on 300 mg in the hospital and for a couple of years after. It's only been in the last year I have been able to reduce them. In the 8 years I have been taking this medication, I've tried to reduce it several times but became unwell again. I know my signs of becoming unwell, I always seek help and supervision from doctors or mental health. I'm now on 50 mg, so it can be done. I hope this helps anyone in similar circumstances."

"I have found Seroquel extremely helpful for my anxiety. I take a low dose, and within the hour, my anxiety is gone, and it also helps me sleep better. The only bad thing I have to say about it is I've had vision problems, and my doctor and eye doctor believe it's related to Seroquel."

"I have been dealing with undiagnosed depression and anxiety for the last year or so, and a few weeks ago, I was finally diagnosed with both, and I was prescribed 50 mg of Zoloft initially, and then 100 mg eventually. While the Zoloft was helping with my depression, it made me unbearably anxious. My dosage was lowered to 75 mg, and I was prescribed Seroquel as well. The combination of both has been very successful. I feel no sadness or anxiety currently, and I take 12.5 mg each of Seroquel in the morning and the evening. I'm a little slow and lethargic, but otherwise have had no side effects, and the lethargy is usually solved by a 30-minute nap. In low doses, I highly recommend this drug."

"Seroquel is like the silver bullet. It not only relieved me of my anxiety, it also makes me feel positive, serene, and generally in a good mood! I am on 125 mg at night. I was on 100 mg but went off to try Risperidone (to try to help with the weight gain). Risperidone was not nearly as effective for me as Seroquel, so I went back on, but 100 mg wasn't enough, so I upped it to 125 mg and I am back to feeling great! I have had weight gain, but I feel so much better being on Seroquel. My doctor recommended I cut out carbs and sugar. When I did cut out carbs and sugar, I did lose weight, but it is difficult for me to stick with."

"Great drug, 400 time release. I have been housebound for several years with anxiety. I have been taking this for nearly a year, at the start, a lot of side effects. They went after a month, so stick with it, it will get better. I can now lead a normal life. This drug has saved my life and given me hope for the future. Thanks, quetiapine."

"1/4 or 1/2 of 25mg works well for me to fall asleep, no more overthinking at night and no anxiety in the mornings. It's a little harder to wake up but I feel sooooo relaxed and zen for all day long. So it is a good solution for me."

"I was prescribed this medication in early sobriety from alcohol, and it helped tremendously with the insomnia, anxiety, and generally crazy busy thoughts that cannot be shut off once the brain has stopped receiving its alcohol, yet hasn't yet compensated naturally with the right chemistry. It slowed me down, calmed me down, and allowed me to sleep deeply and fully in a time where, for a week or two, there's just no such thing as sleep for many people who decide to get sober. I've been to detox. They load you full of Valium for a week, then cut you loose. They might as well just be serving cocktails. Quetiapine gave me the relief I needed from the difficult symptoms of early sobriety and the jump start into a much healthier life."

"This medicine has been just wonderful for me. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and an anxiety disorder. It really calms my racing thoughts and smooths me out. I have been on many different doses, all the way up to 800 mg. I don't know why doctors sometimes insist on overkill. Anyway, the magic dose for me is 200 mg at bedtime. It keeps me calmed down, and my anxiety stays in check all the next day. I have been taking it for three years, and I don't get the brain fog or sleepiness effect anymore. I use 10 mg of Ambien to help me sleep. It does okay, but the combination doesn't 'knock me out' like it does some people. Overall, Seroquel is great for me, but it is very rough on others. It is worth a try at least."
