For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I can't poop. Laxatives, stool softeners, Amitiza, Linzess, every other drug you can think of either worked a few times and just stopped. I had high hopes for Motegrity. I took Motegrity three times, just to be sure my symptoms were actually caused by the drug. Motegrity produced a bowel movement for me within a day of taking the drug, each time. My third bowel movement on Motegrity was a bloodbath. Anyway, within 15 minutes of taking the drug, each time, my stomach severely bloated. As time passed, my abdomen would hurt even more and horribly burn-if anyone has ever had bowel obstructions or intussusceptions, the pain and burning felt like this. Then began the migraine, nausea, and vomiting/dry heaving. My abdomen felt as if I was getting lit on fire and ripped to shreds; screaming pain. Of course, I felt the need to take this godforsaken drug two more times, you know, just to be sure-as if the first round of torture wasn't enough. Now I have bloody stools."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "After suddenly developing abdominal pain and infrequent BMs four years ago without consistent relief from diet changes or OTC products, or Amitiza and Linzess, I'm trying this (and one other which is less effective). This "worked" initially with soft and loose stool, lots of gas, and cramping. Added my OTC again, but ineffective. Tried the other sample drug, even less effective. Back on Motegrity, same experience and have concluded it's exacerbating neck and back pain to intolerable levels, possible wrist and ankle pain, fatigue, and the blues. Totally interfering with sleep. The only temporary relief I get is swimming or exercising."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I was on Linzess for several months. It completely took away the abdominal pain, and for several weeks, I had severe diarrhea. Then, it settled down, and things seemed to improve, but a month later, I was having maybe 1 bowel movement a month. I switched to Motegrity, it's been 2 weeks of misery. Headaches every day, abdominal pain, and bowel movements are more frequent but painful. I'm so disappointed. I will stick it out for a while longer and hope it improves."

For Chronic Idiopathic Constipation "I tried this daily for 7 weeks-almost at the end of the 2nd refill. It worked a little for the first 10 days or so, but there were no results at all since, and unfortunately, there were very unpleasant side effects of severe gas, severe bloating, and abdominal pains. It was very expensive too. I'm not going to refill. No results and bad side effects."
