Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "My daughter had the injection this month. It stopped her psychosis, still a little paranoia. The first ten days severe pain in neck. Also some dizziness still and balance problems, she says. She took Cogentin for neck. Some relief from the neck now. Another issue from blood test is high prolactin level. We will be seeing her doctor this week. Don't know if side effects are worth it."

For Schizophrenia "AVOID. I was on this for psychosis with mood disorder. Please save yourself time and money by not trying this. I’ve been on the depot of paliperidone for nearly a year. It does slightly help with hallucinations and delusions, but the side effects are horrible. I couldn’t focus in my lectures, as I couldn’t think, and my mind would just wander off. I gained over 40 kg in under 6 months. I was lactating, which is highly abnormal for a teenager. I became a couch potato, as I had no motivation to do anything. The side effects definitely outweigh the benefits."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "I've been on Haldol, Aristada, Zyprexa, and Invega, and so far, these medications just give your brain time to heal, not actually heal your disorder. They help manage your symptoms. So far, I've had delusions, hallucinations, and voices. Invega may be harmful, but when you have schizophrenia like me, you have to be on something. So far, Invega helps the most but has the worst side effects, it works kind of like that. I advise taking it over the ones I mentioned for me personally."

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "My brother is on this medication, and I have my brother back. He's only been on it for a few months, but he is not hallucinating or paranoid anymore. He can hold rational conversations and make decisions for himself. Because of the things he did to others and to family members when he was suffering from his mental illness, he is sad that he doesn't have the relationships that he wants. I'm hoping he will accept counseling to begin to repair those relationships."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I am an ex-boxer, fit, 74 kg. I always had relapses because I fail to take my medication. I had a relapse in September when I was taking risperidone and Invega. I shot up to 84 kg, I am still using it, once every month, dosage been lowered from 200 to 75 mg. I was on my way to becoming successful before I took this medication. I was attractive, fit, and full of testosterone. I had ambitions and dreams, sharp and a role model. Firstly, the medication made me feel like I had brain damage, and I couldn't move or walk. It took a month to be able to move properly again. I feel depressed, dark, stupid, and like I lost a part of myself. I have no emotion, and I can't hold a conversation. I lost confidence and all future hope. I wake up with bad anxieties. But on the good side, I stopped hearing voices and hallucinations. But I would advise you to not take it and instead find an alternative."

Paliperidone for Bipolar Disorder "I take 75 mg of the Invega Sustenna, and it has given me my life back. I’ve gained 40 lbs over the last 5 years on it. But I don’t mind as long as I have stability. No mania. No psychosis. I feel amazing. I had severe anxiety on the Invega Trinza, but went back to Sustenna, and that went away. I feel great!"

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "I've been taking Invega Sustenna for a little over a year now, and for the majority of that year, I had absolutely no positive or negative symptoms. Recently, though, the paranoia and slight delusions have started to creep back into my mind. My psychiatrist upped my dose to 234 mg, and now I can't stop eating, and I'm hungry all the time. I already had a binge eating disorder, but now it's infinitely worse. Also, the newer symptoms are still there. We're currently trying metformin to help with my appetite, but so far it's doing absolutely nothing. I'm now thinking that I want to try switching to ziprasidone. It's supposed to be really good with weight management, but I'm worried it might not be as effective with my mental symptoms? I can't freak out because I'm working and going to school now. Back to Invega, though, I guess I can thank this medication for giving me my life back and making it so I can function in society. But I can't handle the weight gain..."

Paliperidone "I have been on Invega Sustenna 125 mg for 2 years for bipolar. Previously, I was a zombie when on lithium treatment, I lost two jobs for not being able to show interest. I also suffered from depression, but that got fixed with an antidepressant that made things much better. On the Invega, I gained weight, around 30 lbs, but it did kill the hallucinations and symptoms of the illness. However, it had its side effects like any treatment. Things got better as I lowered to 75 mg and took the antidepressant Celexa."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I experienced bad things from this medication. My doctor recommended it for me, and once he did, I started it with the hope that it would make my mental health better, but it didn't. The side effects that I experienced all came from the fact that I had a high prolactin level. They were: nipple discharge, psychosis, paranoia, worsened anxiety and depression, suicide attempt due to paranoia, loss of sex drive, hot flashes, and God knows what else. I'm glad that I'm alive here today because this entire experience with this medication along with Latuda has caused so many issues. Now I'm on medication that helps and doesn't harm. I'm thankful I've become aware of this after seeing the endocrinologist specialist."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I have just been on the medication for 2 weeks and finally feel like a human being again. I am sleeping better, not overeating, feel happier, am more talkative, and actually feel like living. I have not had a psychotic episode in the past 2 weeks, but I know this might not be the reason since the medication is so new. I truly was a real burden on everyone because I was upset, angry, seeing or hearing things, and crying all the time. Not many people understood just how bad I felt. I'm hoping to get feeling even better, but if this is the best that it gets, I will sure be okay with just feeling like this. No one knows how hopeless this disease can make you feel."

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "Stuff is great, works very well, actually makes you work on problems in a more sober state. Definitely increased my sex drive. Life is getting better and better with time, the longer I'm on it, the better I get. Works overall for about 98% of the hallucinations. The voices are still ongoing, but they're a lot better now, only sometimes bad, for the most part not."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "I've only had the two beginning doses of Invega, and it has been awful. My doctor talked me into it since I sometimes miss my pills, so she wanted me to get an injection. I agreed, and now I can't sleep. I have such vivid dreams, like I wake up in another life. So vivid, it seems real. Sometimes I can't decipher reality and my dreams. I'm seeing things often, more than when I was just on a pill medication, and I am going to tell my doctor this week that I refuse to take this again. It made me lose a job, I can't focus. I'm scared all the time. It's just terrible."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "I was diagnosed with schizophrenia following a mental episode that occurred after taking flavonoid pills. I was prescribed asenapine, which worked well, but without my consent, I was admitted to a hospital for a week, which they referred to as 'therapy.' Shortly before or after leaving the hospital, I was put on paliperidone, which resulted in a series of negative effects including memory loss, lack of motivation and passion, inability to communicate emotions, and sexual dysfunction. Additionally, I remained paranoid while feeling numb. I eventually stopped taking the medication, but relapsed after taking it again, experiencing even worse symptoms such as heart pain, rigid bones, worsened paranoia, and a lack of motivation. Both times, I thought I would die, and I feel fortunate to have made it past the age of 18. I refused to continue taking the medication after discussing it with my mother, but the doctors continued to keep me on it and misled me when I asked about discontinuing use."

Paliperidone for Schizoaffective Disorder "I have been on Invega 234 injection for over 7 months. I do the injection every 3 weeks. It has helped with the auditory and visual hallucinations but am unsure of the mood effects. Definitely more depressed, and my anxiety has gotten much worse, but after I get the shot, it seems to get better. I have been hospitalized every month with multiple depressive problems after taking this medication and am now convinced that it is possible that this medication could be the cause. I am now going to try to figure out if this medication is worth being on or whether I should stay on it."

For Schizophrenia "I'm a UK citizen born in England, and I must say this is bad medication. I've been on it 2 years, yes, the voices are gone, but I have gained about 50 pounds because of it. At one stage, I was dribbling from the mouth, and it takes away your sex drive, and I still get paranoia. Stay away from any antipsychotics, especially paliperidone or risperidone."

For Schizophrenia "I was on risperidone and went from 157 lb to 210 lb in a year and a half. I started taking paliperidone and eventually went down to 190 lbs within 6 months, but for the most part, I still have to watch what I eat. I only eat two meals because I know eating three would result in going back to the 200s. I am slightly depressed, my anxiety has skyrocketed, and I feel paranoid, as if I'm not on meds. People around me have to bring me back to reality when I get suspicious. I feel I need a stronger dosage, I'm only on 3 mg, and my mental illness runs in the family and is severe, to say the least. My urination patterns have gone back to near normal since departing from risperidone. However, I hear no voices, but I have sleep paralysis and OCD-like symptoms still for a medication that's supposed to also act as an antidepressant (antidepressants block OCD-like symptoms). I have trouble remembering things and intrusive thoughts. I just want a cure."

For Schizoaffective Disorder "For the first year on injection, I was good, but then decreased the dose to 78 mg and had symptom increased. I got it back to 117 mg. Now I have intrusive thoughts on this medication and anxiety. It’s been 2 years since I took it, no weight gain. I have some delusions, but it takes care of psychosis and paranoia completely."

Paliperidone for Schizophrenia "Most horrible medication my son was on for 4 months, did not stop hallucinations and made him rage to the point he had to be hospitalized. Doctor kept telling us to give it time, big mistake made my son so aggressive, punched walls, fought with police. As soon as they gave him an Abilify injection, he has been doing better. There is a reason why Invega scores so low."

For Schizophrenia "Works very well. No talk in the head, no visible hallucinations, only once a day something minor. More energy overall, took 6 months of Xeplion to get there. Can laugh. No depression. Hard to meet friends and feel relaxed though."
