"I took this for the 1st time. Two hours after I took it, stomach acid was coming out both ends. Cramps so bad I felt like I was having a baby again - except I wasn’t throwing up while I was in labor. It’s like the flu times 10. I had to go to the hospital for dehydration, and they gave me something to stop the cramps. I was there 5 hours in pain. Never again will I take this."

"I have taken Movantik less than a week, and it has not worked for me. I have severe abdominal cramps, nausea, bloating, flatulence, and really bad constipation. I was hoping Movantik would work as well as Amitiza did. Do not like this medication and will discontinue it!"

"My doctor is insisting I start taking this in spite of having no problem at all whatsoever with what I am taking now! I have had OIC for 20 years. This Movantik has a huge risk of side effects. I take a dose of Miralax and one stool softener (docusate calcium, not docusate sodium) and problem solved for years! If I eat a lot of bread, I take an extra docusate calcium pill. No side effects whatsoever! Every time I see a TV commercial for all of these prescription laxatives, I cringe. Why take meds with side effect worries? My new doctor is adamant that I try this Movantik when I don't need to switch what works!"

"I read the reviews here and was resistant to using Movantik because of the negative reviews. But my doc insisted he'd gotten no negative feedback, so I decided to try it. I figured I could handle some withdrawal symptoms if it relieved this horrible constipation. Prior to this, I'd had no pain or cramping in my abdomen, just the knowledge that I hadn't gone in two weeks and the stool sitting at my rectum, not going anywhere. I took the 25 mg tablet at 6:30 a.m. Within one hour, I had the worst abdominal pain and cramping, miles beyond anything I've ever gone through. I had to try to move the stool manually. I was literally shouting in pain, sweating profusely, and my nose was running like a faucet. Cutting to the chase, I went 911 to the ER where the doctor had to manually disimpact me. That was a horrific experience. I've never had abdominal cramping like that. That's due solely to Movantik. I always try to be compliant with doctor's orders, but I'm never going to touch this drug again."

"I am on day 5 of Movantik. No help with BM at all! Lightheaded is the only side effect. I feel this med is working against me, causing even more constipation. Even much less gas passing! I take Norco daily for pain for 4 years now, and the constipation/impactedness is worsening! Been to the hospital twice recently for relief. Stomach bloating is worse too on this med. I'm calling it quits, as today's dose gave me bad headaches with the dizziness. No relief or success with the Movantik. I actually feel worse! Insur did not cover either. I will keep looking for methods of relief. MiraLAX works on and off. I have found a daily probiotic helps, but not continuously, however, I couldn't imagine not having it... best of luck to all."

"I was so nervous about taking it because I saw some horrible reviews, but by the 3rd day, I felt a huge difference. I feel like it cured my IBS-M. I have zero bloating. My bowel movements have been full and normal. I literally feel normal again. I can't tell you how stressful having IBS-M is, as my IBS was mostly constipation but could be diarrhea sometimes. I felt like it was taking over my life, constantly being uncomfortable and bloating was so stressful. It's been a week on Movantik, and I feel so grateful I found something that works."

"This stuff is horrible! I took 1 dose, 25 mg, within 30-40 minutes, I started getting a really gassy stomach, really distended. Then the abdominal pain and cramping started. It was the worst thing I have ever endured. I almost went to the hospital, it was so incredibly bad. Sweating, yawning, explosive diarrhea. After 24 hours, the cramping and extreme pain have subsided significantly but still have a little. By 36 hours, my stomach feels really bloated, but most of the other side effects have subsided. Thank God! I tell you, that was the WORST experience I have ever endured. No one should take this toxic poison."
