For Bacterial Infection "I was prescribed this medication plus Cipro for a mild case of diverticulitis. Both are very heavy-duty drugs. After my third dose, I had a headache, nausea, I vomited, I was dizzy, and I couldn't hold down so much as a bite of toast, though I was supposed to start eating something after 24 hours of a liquid diet. The side effects of this medication are far worse than the condition for which I was being treated. Always question when you are being prescribed two powerful antibiotics."

Moxifloxacin for Bacterial Infection "I am on my 4th day of Avelox and going to try and stick it out despite the side effects. I was on another antibiotic for (Amoxicillin) diverticulitis last week, and it caused such bad diarrhea that I had to be switched to this. The 1st day I took it in the middle of the day. I had horrible nausea and dizziness, plus extremely fatigued. After that, I switched the time to after dinner before bed, and the side effects are easier to manage through the night. The only other problem is the extreme tiredness during the day. It seems to be clearing the diverticulitis, so I am going to finish the course."

For Pneumonia "I started Avelox for pneumonia and felt substantially better within 24 hours. It can make you dizzy or nauseous, but just take it before bed and you wake up fine!"

For Pneumonia "I was on two rounds of antibiotics (Augmentin), and my coughing hadn't gotten any better, it just got worse and worse until I ended up at the ER twice, having trouble breathing due to too much coughing. My doctor prescribed moxifloxacin as my third round of antibiotics. I finally stopped coughing on day three of taking this antibiotic. And yes, it really came with a bad side effect! I have never experienced side effects with any medicine until I took moxifloxacin. I took the pill in the afternoon, as told by the doctor, and I was feeling nauseous till night."
