For Vaginal Yeast Infection "GIVE MONISTAT A CHANCE. It works for me every time. I use the Monistat 1 day, every time I get a yeast infection. All of the comments I'm reading are giving it bad reviews due to the increase in burning sensation. YI ARE WORSE THAN THE BURNING. The box says a slight increase in burning will occur. You just shoved medicine into your no-no parts. Your body rejects things it's not used to. That's normal. I'm also seeing it receive bad reviews due to the fact that it doesn't work immediately. Even the Monistat 1-Day says it could take up to a week for your symptoms to completely subside."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is my first yeast infection so of course I was freaking out when I started itching and my vagina started to swell. I called my doctor and was told to get this product and use for 7 days. I didn’t wait till bedtime and chose to use it...BIG MISTAKE! I squatted and injected the cream...couple minutes after it burned but it stopped a little while (about 10-15 minutes later) but it left me sore. However, the following morning I felt better! The swelling was gone and I no longer uncomfortable. I’m now on Day 2 and I injected it laying on my back, knees bent and immediately laid down. This time it slightly burned but overall it was good! I recommend using this. Don’t let the first day scare you! It gets better. It is better to lay flat on your back with your knees bent to inject the cream and immediately lay down so that it won’t come out and cause burning. For the first dosage, try to reduce liquids because urinating after you have applied the cream will be a big discomfort."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I have had a yeast infection for quite some time and was told to get Monistat 7. As soon as I inserted it into my vagina, it tingled then burned like lava. LIKE, OH MY GOODNESS. But on day 3, I have not had any more symptoms of my yeast infection. No itchiness, no burning, or nothing. It works, but OMG, could they make a cream that doesn't feel like lava inside you."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "For the love of all that is holy, I pray you’ve come to read these reviews BEFORE buying and inserting this lava egg into your garden. I feel as though this medicine has given me the power to breathe fire from my twat. Immediately after inserting the ovule and applying the cream, I felt burning in my vag. It was as though I had the fire from 1,000 suns captured inside of me, and they were itching to be released. The pain from this medication is 10,000 times worse than the infection itself. I have since squatted and spat the little lava egg out, wiped all topical ointment off, and I’m sitting in a bath trying to decide which type of ice pack will fit best in between my lady parts. I’m praying this pain at least resolves my issue. If not, I’ll be calling my gyno tomorrow. If I were you, I would start there. And do not under any circumstances let them convince you that Monistat is the way to go."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am currently laying like a gymnast with my legs open, hoping the fan will help cool the raging inferno inside my vagina. Five minutes of ice-cold water with the shower hose helped numb it, temporarily. I have never had pain like this before down there, and I gave birth twice! I had a very mild YI and decided to go with the Monistat 3 to treat it. Never again! Instantly the burning and itching were 100 times worse. I only made it five minutes before I started trying to clean it out. I didn't realize they changed the main ingredient to lava!!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "In the spirit of Game of Thrones’ final episodes and Arya being a badass, I like to think that were she confronted by the god of death, she would fling a filled applicator of this unholy concoction at death’s face and scream ‘not today!!’ and then the god of death’s face would burn, itch, melt, and burst into a thousand flames of agony. Seriously, it’s like one of Daenerys’s dragons got loose in my vagina and is clawing and fire-breathing on its way out. I know this is very silly, but it’s all I can do to keep from screaming and writhing in my bed like a possessed banshee because this stuff is mutilating my insides. In short, if the doc prescribes you antibiotics, just straight up ask him or her to circumvent the nonsense and prescribe Diflucan while they’re at it because antibiotics lead to yeast and yeast leads to Monistat and Monistat leads to wailing in agony. BRB gonna go put ice cubes up my bajingo now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I'm writing this review at 2 am because the pain is so intense I can't sleep. I wish I would have read these reviews before buying the 7-day Monistat because this is pure torture! Night 1 felt as if some evil flame-throwing person was hosting a conference in my vagina. However, I took pain medicine and eventually fell asleep. Night 2 and 3 were slightly uncomfortable but eased up after about 30 minutes, and I went to sleep. I'm now on night 4, and it feels like little fires everywhere! Seriously, inside my vagina all the way to my buttole is itching and burning. It is so bad I attempted to wipe it out, but that made it worse. Pain medicine isn't helping. I even took melatonin to try and knock myself out, but that's not working either. WHAT IS IN THIS STUFF????? I will not be finishing the remaining 3 days. It sucks I went through 4 days of lava burns, but I just can't do it anymore. The actual YI was nowhere near this painful! If you can, just get a prescription."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Yes, It may burn! This is only for the first application as it is doing its job and killing the yeast. Your vaginal walls are raw from the infection, so it will be an irritant, but it truly does work. I just finished my full treatment yesterday, and even though the first day was painful with a swollen labia (I took it during the day so all of the medicine basically oozed out and collected in my panties), I continued on, and my symptoms were mostly gone by the third day. Be sure to keep the box beside your bed and do it after your nighttime routine. This way you can stay in a position where the cream won't fall out. Good luck and keep at it!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I give it 4/10 because although it’s an EXTREMELY unpleasant medicine, it does work. Even though it has always worked for me, it itches and burns like you absolutely wouldn’t believe. I literally have to use it like 3 hours before bedtime and take Benadryl to be able to sleep. The first few hours after you put it in are a nightmare (literally feels like ants crawling in and out of you and biting), and then it gets a little better. The more irritated I already am, the worse it tends to be for me. HOWEVER, I did discover that the Publix brand version of this medicine (the 3-day suppositories) doesn’t do that to me at all! I’ve had 0 itching or burning with this one (and have used it several times). It’s also only $10 whereas the Monistat brand is a little more. I do wonder if I may just be allergic to something in Monistat, but either way, I always just get the Publix brand now."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Burned like crazy within 5 mins of using the vaginal cream insert. The most pain I have ever experienced. Brought me to tears as I wanted to scream in pain. I will not be continuing with days 2 and 3. I will use a different product. They should put on the outside of the box in bold letters that it may cause severe burning and itching, not 'mild'. They couldn't pay me to go through that again."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had been dealing with a YI that would not go away after multiple treatments and Monistat 7 was the first thing that actually worked. THE KEY TO PREVENT THE MOST ITCHING AND BURNING IS INSERTING THE CREAM WHEN YOU ARE ALREADY LYING DOWN!!! What causes the burning and itching is when it leaks out of your vagina, so lie down and don’t get up after you insert it. I realized this after the first night (it was very itchy for me the first night). Yes there are side effects, but this medicine actually works! If you want your yeast infection to be gone, tough it out and finish all 7 nights! Also for me the itching and burning didn’t last for more than an hour before it went down so just be patient."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "It’s 3:32 am right now, I am on fire and can’t sleep! I woke up at 2:30 am to go pee, and I guess some of the cream started to leak out 'cause I am burning down there. (I inserted the egg around 10:40 pm right before bedtime.) My doc recommended this awful over-the-counter fire hazard (my doc is male. Go figure.) I wish I had read the reviews before inserting that awful egg inside myself! My irritation from YI was a lot better and tolerable than this horrible medicine! Don’t get me started on the cream that is “supposed to” relieve irritation! That cream is most likely made with Carolina Reaper (hottest pepper)! I hope this horrible feeling goes away soon because I have family coming over tomorrow, and I am not sure how I am supposed to function with my V on fire. I agree with all of you, ladies, this stuff should come off the shelves. Monistat does the opposite of what it is supposed to do."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Bought the 3-day Monistat vaginal ovules and wow, my vagina is literally a flaming torch. The entire thing feels like someone has lit my cooter on fire and poured 17 bottles of Frank's RedHot sauce all over it. I don't even know what to do with myself. I've been running back and forth from the bathroom trying to get it out from inside me, but the burning is truly unbearable, not to mention also itchy. I've been putting a cold compress down there, which has given me some relief. Unfortunately, it's 2:00 AM and I can't sleep. Monistat needs to be taken off the shelves, this is a crime to the female population. Pray for my burning coot."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "After taking antibiotics for BV, I felt like I was getting a yeast infection, so I got Monistat 7. I used it externally the first day, which burned for a while, then felt better. When I inserted it at bedtime, the burning started again. I have not used Monistat in many years, but I remember it as soothing, not painful. I don't know what they changed about it, but they need to change it back. After about an hour, the burning seems to have let up a little. From reading all the other reviews, at least I know I'm not the only one who is experiencing discomfort. On the upside, I got a little comic relief from some of the reviews. Not that I think everyone's pain is funny, but some of the descriptions are very colorful. Seriously, they need to fix this product because it didn't use to hurt this much. Update: the burning was not as bad the second night. I think after the medication had a couple of days to heal me, the rawness from the infection was better and therefore less burning. The burning on the third night was very minimal."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "No, just no! I have used Monistat 1 and 3-day in the past, several years ago, and never, I mean NEVER have I had this current experience. Immediate burning and itching that made me want to jump up and down, holding my hooha, and run to the freezer to find an ice pack! Disclaimer: do not insert a popsicle, no matter how appealing this may sound to you if you are experiencing the burning I experience #YeastInfectionOnRoids. Of course, the itching from my YI felt so much better after just the first Monistat syringe! My vag was completely desensitized from the itching and burning the Monistat caused. I’d love to know what and why Monistat changed in their product. Feels like I slathered ghost pepper, habanero, wasabi sauce on my cooch."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I have read through many comments. I have been using Monistat products for years. It takes three days. No matter which product you are using, for a yeast infection to start clearing up and 7 days for completion. So whether you are using a pill, egg, cream, garlic, oil, or oregano... three days. Upon insertion on the first day, you will get backlash fire pits of hell feeling. This is the medication attacking the yeast infection. It will burn, sting, throb, swell your lips, and itch 10 times more. Do your treatments at night. Wear a thin panty liner. Use the lotion 3 times a day. Be brave... lol come on, ladies."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "Ugh! First time ever experiencing a YI so I did the day 1 the ovule! I couldn't hold my pee in and some cream came out! I was going crazy and thinking it wasn’t going to work. Moments later the burning and itching started! The only thing that is making me feel better is reading all these comments knowing I'm not alone! Also first time using Monistat don’t think I'll use it again"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I had to take a 7-day course of antibiotics for a UTI and started noticing that dreaded itch and pain down yonder. I decided since this has happened in the past, to use the tube filled cream inserts. At first, it was uncomfortable just sticking anything up there, but I didn’t feel any worse. I went to bed and woke up around 2:30 am to pee, but when I got back into bed, HOLY MOLY! I’m guessing being upright and sitting on the toilet let some of the cream run down, and NO ONE IS EXAGGERATING!! I thought someone doused my insides with acid! I've sat here reading and laughing at all your reviews in between pulsating rounds of hell, knowing I was not insane all the while clutching at my vag, trying hard not to scream in pain. It’s now 4 am, and although sleep-deprived and traumatized, the burning and pain have subsided gradually. Stick it out if you can, if not, you’ll eventually pass out from the pain and get some sleep"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I used the Equate generic brand of the Monistat one-dose egg, same exact dosage and ingredients compared to Monistat, along with the external cream that comes with the egg. Two hours after inserting it, an increase in burning and itching happened. It wasn’t unbearable like some of these reviews are saying. I was able to fall asleep still, and when I woke up the next morning, I had no itchiness in my vagina or yeast infection feeling. It’s been a week now, and my infection is gone. If you are sensitive and can’t handle an increase in uncomfortability, then I suggest you see a doctor. If you don’t want to end up with a bill, just use Monistat over-the-counter and be a little bit more uncomfortable for a few hours to kill off your yeast infection. 10 out of 10, I would recommend it to someone to use."

I almost went to the ER. 2nd day not so bad, but now I'm on my 3rd day and the burning with intense itching is back!! So uncomfortable, I can barely stand it... I honestly don't know how I'm going to get through the whole 7 days..."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "This is insane! The excruciating burning and swelling I am going through is 10 times worse than the itching and burning from the infection. There is no way in high heaven that a female doctor had anything to do with this menace to vaginas everywhere. I am lying in bed after trying to wash off as much of this as I could, and now with an ice pack directly in between my legs! This should not even be on the market anymore because I've been reading these awful reviews from last year. What the heck? Monistat, take us seriously! Do not use this product if you value your sanity and are not into self-torture."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I am on the third hour of my first night taking Monistat 3, and I’m ready to rip my lady parts out. The burning and itching intensified by 10,000 five minutes after inserting it and is VERY SLOWLY calming down, and it’s driving me insane! I wish I would have read the reviews first. Not recommended."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "I get yeast infections frequently, and I have always just used generic brands. I never had a bad experience. Yesterday, I bought Monistat for the first time ever, and I will never use it again because it put me in so much pain. Usually, I just insert the generic brand and go right to sleep, but not even a minute after I started feeling a burning/scratching sensation, and it kept getting worse. I wasn’t even scratching myself, and my lady bits started to swell. I tried to get as much as I could out of me, and then the only reason I was able to fall asleep was that I laid a cold compress on myself. I even woke up this morning, and right away, I felt fine until I went to the bathroom, and the burning sensation started again, and I began to swell. I will never use this product again, and I don’t think any women should. Any girl reading this, you need to just get a generic brand because you will get rid of your yeast infection pain-free."

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "First and second nights with Monistat 3 were pure torture. Intense burning. I literally couldn't sleep, that's how bad it was. I used the external cream and thought that was making things worse, my poor vag was hanging and swollen. I could barely walk. I decided to just stick with it. Sitting in a tub of hot water helped, which is weird relief to a burning vag. I only noticed relief when I washed up for bed. I guess the burn means it's working. After the second night, my swelling went down. I could walk without looking like a cowboy. The third night of treatment was the best night in comparison. There was mild burning, but I could get some sleep. I've completed the 3-day treatment. I still have a little itchiness and soreness. I will continue to use the cream on the outside 2 times a day until my itchiness goes away. Despite the lava journey, it seemed to work. They lose major stars for the pain. They need to get back in the lab and develop a gentler approach or at least provide numbing cream. Sheesh!"

For Vaginal Yeast Infection "So I’m writing this on night two of the treatment. This is my first ever yeast infection so I didn’t know what to expect. This yeast infection is the worst thing I’ve ever experienced. I thought my vagina was just going to fall off and run away to a dumpster. I feel so disgusting. BUT! On night one I wasn’t in tears thinking this can’t be just a yeast infection, that I must have something horribly worse (I don’t), but I was so scared. I went to the store at midnight to go get this medicine. I took it immediately when I got home, falling asleep was difficult. It burned, it itched, it swelled. But I finally fell asleep, and when I woke up in the morning, it felt 10 times better than the night before. So, if you can get past the burning and itching after applying the medication, it will get better. It’s a process!"
