For Allergic Rhinitis "I have had problems with my sinuses for years! At least 2x a year, my sinuses get all backed up. My face hurts, my ears hurt, and it eventually runs down my throat, causing a hell of a cough. The only thing that works is a steroid pack! Within 2 days, I can always feel it working! It's my miracle go-to!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "Back went out 3 weeks ago. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory muscle relaxers did nothing. Went back to the doctor after 2 weeks, put me on methylprednisolone. First day I took 6 pills, back felt way better by the end of the day. I feel 80%, and it's day 2!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had been experiencing shoulder pain from repetitive strain for about 3 years; it started off quite mild, and then in the past 3-6 months had developed into a constant stabbing, throbbing pain. I went to the doctor and was diagnosed with rotator cuff tendonitis and was put on methylprednisolone and Valium. After the very first day on the steroid, my pain symptoms reduced dramatically. On day 3, it barely hurts at all. So, so, so relieved. I wish I'd gone to the doctor much sooner!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I figured I'd share my somewhat neutral experience with this drug after reading mostly negative reviews. The reviews about the side effects alone made me cringe and not even want to give it a chance. Rarely will you find a positive review when the drug actually works. It's always when it doesn't work that you end up reading the horror stories. I understand everyone is different, so this is just my experience. I was originally given this medication for heel bursitis and plantar fasciitis. Although at the same time, I had a terrible reaction to poison ivy and sumac. I was told it would treat both. I followed the regimen exactly. I didn't notice any side effects at all. Nothing. I was waiting for the panic attacks and anxiety I read about from other reviews. No insomnia either. Nothing happened. Saying that, the medication didn't work for me either. My ivy and sumac stayed the same. Same with my foot. I was kind of disappointed. I gave it a shot, though."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was given this by my podiatrist for ball of foot pain due to wearing heels. All I can say is I wish I wouldn't have waited 3 months to go to the podiatrist. I'm on day 3 and I'm in no pain! Thank God for this medication!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had foot pain on the right side, my right hip also, but not considered at the time. I took a methylprednisolone 4 mg pack. By the end of the medicine, I was not having any pain in my foot or hip. Wow, what a difference. It made moving around and going to work much better than a few days before. Eating with medicines helps the upset stomach. What a life change! Thanks!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had my third back surgery on 12/31/15. Pain and tightness has been off and on since. Recently, the pain was so bad I couldn't take it anymore because my hydrocodone wasn't working. Went to the doc, and he put me in the methylprednisolone dose pack 4 mg. Overnight, it was better. You have to take it with food, or it will tear you up. Don't take it close to bedtime. No significant side effects other than mild depression and lethargy. May not even be due to the med, but it is a possibility."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I'm 52 and started developing early signs of carpal tunnel. The pain in my left wrist would keep me up at night until finally, I went to the doctor. He prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg dose pack 21's. I took the first (6) pills that night and slept like a baby! By morning, almost no pain and I felt wonderful! It feels great to do the simple things like pinning your hair, putting on your coat, or pulling up your pants...so many things we take for granted. Oh, and my workstation is ergonomically correct now!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "Took a 6-day, 4 mg dose pack, had chest tightness and a feeling of a heavy heartbeat in my left pec area. Otherwise, works extremely well for the inflammation in my neck and shoulder from a bulged disc/bursitis."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have been to the ER three times in 90 days with horrible sinus pain and pressure. Just finished my third round of Augmentin. My ears are still full of fluid, and I can hardly hear at all. This steroid has been working so fast! I feel better already, and it's only been 12 hours on the medicine (4 mg) pills. It does make me feel jittery, but it's definitely worth the side effects. Being sick for 90 days is a long time."

Methylprednisolone for Asthma, acute "I appreciate this medication. It has been of great benefit in relieving my asthma distress relatively quickly. In my youth, epinephrine was the only medication for my disease, and I spent hundreds of days over the years waiting for my asthma attacks to subside. I am pleased that the extended suffering does not have to be endured now that this medication is affordable and available."

Methylprednisolone for Osteoarthritis "I get an injection (40) in my hip and knee every three months. Has been a great relief for over 5 years. I am almost 68 years old. Have told other seniors of this great injection to avoid or delay knee and hip replacement and pain relief."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have arthritis in my neck/upper back that comes and goes. The pain clinic prescribed a dose pack. It worked extremely well. When the pain comes back, I take another dose pack. No more than twice a year right now. I have the usual side effects - sleeplessness, jitters, and hunger."

Methylprednisolone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have rheumatoid arthritis already over 4 years from my 30 years. Medrol helps me every day to get rid of pain, but on the other side, I was now diagnosed with osteoporosis. For around 9 months, I have been taking Medrol with methotrexate 15 mg a week and Arava, and I am able to go bicycling again. Before, I couldn't."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was given this medicine for a severe sinus infection. 1st night couldn’t sleep, 2nd night wide awake maybe 3 hours of sleep. 3rd day stopped taking. The bags under my eyes and dizzy feeling is horrible. How fast can I get this out of my system?"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have osteoarthritis, cervical and lumbar radiculopathy, as well as occipital neuralgia. In the past, I was prescribed prednisone to reduce the painful inflammation. I hated taking it due to the side effects. There are not too many medications I can tolerate or that I don't have an allergic reaction to. This medicine, methylprednisolone, was great in between all the medical procedures. I felt like a new person without all the constant pain for at least a few months until my next procedure."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I feel like this drug is a miracle drug. I know it's not good for long-term use, but the 6-day pack of 4 mg tablets makes me feel like a new person almost immediately. I have been taking it after shoulder surgery because I have had a lot of pain in my hand and inflammation. This is the third time I have taken the six-day dosage since surgery 8 weeks ago, but it relieves my pain really well for about 2 weeks. I have not noticed any side effects. I'm not sure if it affects my sleep because I have not been sleeping much because of shoulder pain anyway. I wish it were a more permanent fix, but it's great for temporary relief while the shoulder heals and allows me to work on my physical therapy exercises more and use my hand more."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I had severe soft tissue damage. The inflammation would not subside and was creating other problems as the inflammation was choking nerves. I did a series of 11 injections in the area (12' x 12' area) over approximately 8 weeks. It worked. It took about 2 months to feel full effects. My side effects included minimal pain at the injection point for a day or 2 after each injection and major upper body sweating. Thank God for this medicine as it was the only thing that worked to minimize the inflammation."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had L4 minimal evasive surgery on a Tuesday, went home Wednesday, and Wednesday night my sciatica was killing me, which was what the surgery was to correct. Called the Dr. on Friday and was prescribed to take all the 1st day's dosage at once and to continue with the regular dosage. By Saturday evening I was feeling 90% better, by Monday I was still doing well with a bit of an ache. My biggest issue was no sleep. I was awake until 3 and 4 a.m. during those days. I will trade the not sleeping for the reduced pain."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Was prescribed this for a rash/skin irritation. I didn't see results until 3-4 days into the 6-day pack. Side effects for me were bad heartburn (usually at night when I went to lay down) and gas/bloating. Overall, it wasn't anything too miserable. I'm only day 5 now, and the rash seems to be completely gone."

Methylprednisolone for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Having had rheumatoid arthritis with secondary Sjögren's and Raynaud's for twenty-odd years, I have tried so many combinations of medication. The best result was Methotrexate, but unfortunately, after a bout of pneumonia, this was stopped. I was at my wit's end and lost interest in everything... even the news that I was going to be a grandma! My rheumatologist, seeing my distress, gave me the injection, and it's like a new world! I have the odd 'ouch,' but I can now sleep, my memory is back, I can smile and mean it. Don't know how long it will last, but for me, it's been a bit of a lifesaver."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Last month I was given this med by the orthopedic for a 'pinched nerve' from my neck to shoulder down my arm, which was very painful. I took a double dose pack, 42 pills total. I had never taken steroids before. Day 2, I immediately felt better. Great! By day 12, the last day of this regimen, I was so tired, bloated from lots of gas, but the pain was 90 percent better. The days following, I got so weak and just wanted to sleep all the time. Good thing I am retired. It's been 3 weeks since I stopped. The pain is back full force, my legs are swollen from water retention, and I'm full of gas. Pills were good for a short time, but now I am back to square one. Had 2 MRIs yesterday and will see the doctor in 4 days. Won't take these again."

For Asthma, acute "I got the flu and my lungs were so tight the doctor couldn't even hear my wheeze anymore, and I could barely breathe. I felt like I only had the use of the upper 1/4 of my lungs. I was told that I would have to go to the ER if I got any worse. I was worried about steroid side effects because I had a very bad experience with regular prednisone in the past (worst headache of my life and mood issues). Thankfully, the Medrol dose pack 4 mg worked really well for me with no side effects except maybe some sweating (could also be from the flu). On the first day, I took the 6 pills, 2 at a time, and it had an effect within the first hour. On the third day, I felt like my lung capacity was back to normal. It also helped with the muscle pain from coughing."

For Gout, Acute "I had one week of help. Please try to use my medications for gout. Gout in the toe, in my ankle, and then my left wrist. The last place was the wrist, and the pain was so bad I started to go to the emergency room but held out for a doctor's visit, which was so much cheaper. My doctor prescribed me methylprednisolone. By the next day, the wrist was down to almost normal size and the pain was almost gone. I gave it a 10. It's great medicine."
