Methylprednisolone for Asthma, acute "This is my first line of defense when my allergy-induced asthma is out of control. Rescue inhalers have not worked for me; I cannot pull the medicine into my lungs when I am constricted. By day 2 of the Dosepak, I have significant relief and can usually go off routine nebulized bronchodilators within 6 days. Unfortunately, my doctors do not like to prescribe steroids 3-4 times a year as needed, even though I have shown them it works for me."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I have pudendal nerve pain, and methylprednisolone works amazingly for it. Best thing out there. A little jittery at first, but manageable. I am very sensitive to so many meds and can barely take anything. This works so well. A godsend. I was at my wits' end when Doc let me have this. I was able to work without pain and feel like myself. Unlike other meds that barely work and make you feel like you are on another planet."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I injured my hip, which caused severe pain, apparently hip bursitis. Narcotics didn’t help, and neither did Motrin. The doctor prescribed a 4 mg dose pack, and I started feeling better that day. Wish I had this when I fractured my back."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "The product is an effective bullet as I tend to get pneumonia bi-annually due to a compromised immune system (Lupus). I have been diagnosed with Osteo-necrosis caused by the steroid usage. In addition, it tends to make me extremely jittery and anxious, extraordinarily dizzy, unable to focus, nauseous, and to have blurred vision. (These might be an allergic reaction to the product, but am unsure). It has saved me many a trip for an extensive stay in the hospital and feel comfortable stating that while I have multiple side effects, the benefit most certainly outweighs them."

For Asthma, acute "I take this Medrol dose pack after chest colds/infection to help me with uncontrollable coughing spasms. My physician reminds me every time he prescribes it to start in the morning and continue with the morning dose, as the med can keep you awake at night. I do feel a bit energized after taking it, and initially, my blood sugar rises (pre-diabetes), but after the second dose, my blood sugars return to a more normal range. Those are my only side effects. The Medrol pack is undeniably the best thing for my post-infection chronic coughing, and I would recommend it."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I had severe pain in my back, and after several scans and tests, the only thing that was obvious was a herniated disc. I was released from the hospital with a Medrol Pak. I took it the next morning, and in a couple of hours, not only my back, but my knee pain had disappeared. Within a couple of days, the pain was history and has stayed that way. I did not have any side effects."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "Took Medrol Dosepak like prescribed. Side effects are a shock, it gave me jitters and tremors. Made me feel like I was having a heart attack. Mild headaches and slight abdominal pain, back pain. This medicine is a total crock. It actually made the pain I had even worse with its own little twist, it gave my left arm chills and sweats, very clammy. Plus, there is a possibility of withdrawals. I'm 20, that's the last thing I need."

Methylprednisolone for Allergic Rhinitis "This medication seems to help when I am having an extreme allergy attack. My doctor prescribed this to help with a bad sinus infection I had, and it worked well. I was feeling much better after the first day of pills."

For Inflammatory Conditions "You have to be self-aware. Read the label. It tells you about pre-existing conditions and interaction issues. Don't be ignorant, have a history of this or that, take the med, and then complain the medication sucks. Children's aspirin can cause similar side effects if you have a condition that doesn't mix well with it. With that being said, I took the 6 pills last night and haven't been able to stand up out of bed without a cane in over six weeks. I woke up this morning, and I'm standing freely writing this review with no support. All be it, my condition isn't from a sprain or twist or backache. It's from a yet-to-be-determined inflammatory disease that has had me on crutches and canes for the past month and a half. Be self-aware."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking this medication for about 6 weeks. Prior to taking this, I was unable to get out of bed by myself or even lift a cup of coffee because of a severe RA flare. I am 63, but feel like I’m 35 again. Energy is back, pain is gone, my mood has greatly improved. I have had no side effects, I even lost a few pounds, likely because I can be active again without pain. Life changer for me!"

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "Got an epidural steroid injection (ESI) in T5/6 and felt a sharp pain. Procedure went well after that. One month later, strange pains in spine started. Never told of any risks or ESI. Now in HORRIBLE PAIN in low back, neck, and mid back 4 months later. MRI shows nothing and doctors think I am crazy. Trust me - I am not crazy. This stuff is poison. I think I may be in for a life of misery."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I’ve been on 4 mg of Medrol once a day for over ten years. Nothing else gives me the relief I need to get through the day. I’ve weaned off a few times only to go back. I’m aware of all side effects and interactions, but nothing else works for me. The day my doctor says I need to get off is the day I look for a new doctor. I have hypothyroidism and have been infected with Epstein Barr in my teens, both of which cause me widespread inflammation in my soft tissue and joints all over my body. This is my miracle medication."

Methylprednisolone for Neuralgia "I have taken this medicine twice in my life. Five years ago for bursitis in my hip. Worked like a charm. Pain and misery gone! It takes a day or two to get used to the medicine. I have a very sensitive system and can't take a lot of pills. Now, five years later, taking it for pudendal nerve pain and it's working on that. I'm on day five. Doctors have tried me on amitriptyline, gabapentin, and then asked me to try Lyrica and Cymbalta. I asked my uro-gyne to try this med, and she said it wouldn't help me. So I asked the pain management doctor to try this, and he said, 'No one has given you this yet?' acting shocked and then wrote the script immediately. Amitriptyline made me feel like I was having a full-blown heart attack, so that was a no-go after one pill. Gabapentin puts you on planet Pluto and just feels like a band-aid that's not actually trying to heal at all. Said no way to Lyrica and Cymbalta. I think methylprednisolone has been a godsend. Really helping nerve/inflammation and still feeling like myself."

Methylprednisolone for Osteoarthritis "Been on med for only 3 days, and there is a noticeable decrease in the amount of pain and swelling I had prior to taking this med. I could barely walk after having an arthritic flare-up in my knee. By the second day of taking this med, the pain decreased greatly, and I was able to walk. I still had some pain, but not nearly as bad as it was. I still have 3 days to go. I'm hoping for even better news!"

For Allergic Rhinitis "Dr. prescribed methylprednisolone for my sinus ear congestion. Ears in pain, popping eustachian tube, and off-and-on sudden blocked sinus that seals shut and or reopens instantly. Clogged = severe ear pressure, which creates my anxiety issues to go through the roof with panic. 1st day of prednisone, I was expecting a nightmare after reading all the bad reviews. By my 4th pill on the first day, I began feeling ear relief. By day 2 midday, I had ZERO pain or pressure in my ear. I'm also type 2 diabetic. It did raise my sugars pretty significantly, so I got around that by eating absolutely zero carbs. No carbs whatsoever, and it'll help keep the sugar spiking at bay for the most part. Day 3 felt great. No major anxiety issues except for some mild anxiety. No sleep issues. Doing great. Day 4 still okay. Day 5, I feel ear pressure returning. Sinus swelling beginning again. Day 6, last pill, and by the end of the day, my ear pressure was back. Calling doctor tomorrow to see what I can do. I had no major issues."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I took this after extensive dental work I had on a tooth. The tooth seemed fine, and it was determined that either my jaw muscles (due to being open so long for the work) or the swelling of my gums were causing my extreme pain (for 5+ days). Advil was helping, but once it wore off, the pain would return, and I was getting an upset stomach from so much Advil. I was put on a 6-day Medrol pack to see if it would reduce the swelling. After taking the first pill, the pain was gone. After I finished the pills, the severe pain has not come back. The side effects were pretty mild - just a bit of jumpiness and jitteriness - WAY more tolerable than the pain I had been in. I wanted to write a positive review because this medicine really helped me."

For Gout, Acute "Best thing ever invented. I had gout nine months ago and let it run the course for about two weeks. Almost killed me. I did all home remedies and everything you found on the net. This time I awoke and could not walk. I knew what was wrong. I hopped to the doctor's office and he agreed and gave me the prescription for methylprednisolone. Two hours after taking the pills, I started feeling better. The next day, no pain and I could walk. Best medicine ever. Thank you, whoever found this."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "Got a bee sting, so prescribed this. Day one of MethylPREDNISolone and only have taken 4 of the six prescribed for day one. Every time I take the required dosage, I experience heart palpitations that go away in a short time. Not comfortable with the reaction. Will stop taking meds and have notified my PCP."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I am on the methylprednisolone 21-pill dose pack, and on day 1 it cured my sinus infection that would not go away after 2 long weeks. The side effects will hit you. I have experienced sleepless nights, racing heartbeat, and nausea, but tbh I’ll take that over the unrelenting sinus pressure and headaches I was experiencing. The aftertaste is not fun either, but again I can function now, so I’ll take it."

For Inflammatory Conditions "So I work at a hospital and am constantly on my feet, walking/running for 12+ hrs straight. Somehow I injured my foot and started limping by the end of my shifts. Went to the doctor on Friday and she gave me a packet. It's Monday morning and my foot feels a ton better. The swelling is almost gone completely. No side effects, no redness of the face, nothing. Give it a 10 for working great for me!"

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "This medication causes me to be jittery, I can't sleep, have mood changes, have not been able to lose weight, be angry, fast heart rate, have blurry vision, can't think straight, and have high blood sugar. For Inflammatory Conditions "I started having inflammation in both of my shoulders, where I had a very hard time raising my arms to apply deodorant. I also had pain behind my knees, where I could kneel, but I could not sit on my heels as the pain from inflammation was so bad. I also had a hard time moving my wrists from inflammation. I also had pain on the sides of my hips evenly, which was scary. I had tests done many times for R/A and osteo, and I was told that I did not have either one, but something was causing inflammation, which in turn caused pain and stiffness. After taking the first day of a 6-day, 4 mg Medrol dose pack, I felt 10X better. It was like a miracle drug with no negative side effects for me."
