Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "The product is an effective bullet as I tend to get pneumonia bi-annually due to a compromised immune system (Lupus). I have been diagnosed with Osteo-necrosis caused by the steroid usage. In addition, it tends to make me extremely jittery and anxious, extraordinarily dizzy, unable to focus, nauseous, and to have blurred vision. (These might be an allergic reaction to the product, but am unsure). It has saved me many a trip for an extensive stay in the hospital and feel comfortable stating that while I have multiple side effects, the benefit most certainly outweighs them."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was given this medicine for a severe sinus infection. 1st night couldn’t sleep, 2nd night wide awake maybe 3 hours of sleep. 3rd day stopped taking. The bags under my eyes and dizzy feeling is horrible. How fast can I get this out of my system?"

For Inflammatory Conditions "Pain in my neck and shoulders was so severe that my ortho doc prescribed this dose pack for cervical degenerative disease. It has helped relieve the pain, but hopes it lasts. The side effects have been dizziness, gas, indigestion, but have been able to lie down to get some sleep."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I went into the E.R. on Sept 8th, 2016, for a simple bug bite on my finger that became itchy and swollen after the 3rd evening. Was prescribed MEDROL along with clindamycin, Benadryl, and an antacid, none of which I've ever taken in my 39 years of living. After the 1st day, I became very emotional, low mood, I just kind of blew it off. 3rd day, my weight dropped 7 lbs! As of today, Dec 5th, down to 127 lbs & normally 138 lbs. SEVERE muscle loss, bulging eye, eyes blurry, extreme pressure in my head to the point I can't move sometimes, shakiness, depression, heart palpitations, bone & joint pain, painful jolts periodically, nausea, black stools, burning back & stomach, diarrhea & constipation, tingling, dizzy."

For Inflammatory Conditions "The first day I took this, I was feeling dizzy, couldn’t go to sleep, and I told my doctor, and she told me to stop taking it. After a day later, I was feeling like my heart was beating abnormal and feeling so much anxiety and discomfort in my left leg. Don’t take it, I’m crying."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I constantly overthink things, worry, and assume I will have every side effect, so I never want to take medication. I had fluid in my middle ear for over 2 years and went to several doctors who basically did nothing. Finally, I was prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg. I researched for days finding every bad side effect but got over myself and took the medicine. I had no nausea, dizziness, or heart palpitations. I had a little gas, but everything else was fine! It tastes terrible, but we've all drunk way worse things that only have harmed our bodies. It gave me some relief the first week, but now it's wearing off. It was a great treatment!"

For Inflammatory Conditions "I’m 18 and got this for inflammation in my knee. The 21 tablets didn’t really work. Got dizzy, gas, very bad moods, got flu-like symptoms, couldn’t sleep that much, and heart rate was very irregular. Both knees do not feel any better. I’ve had pains in my knees from a cheerleading accident from about 6-7 months, thinking this might work, but did not."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Having sinus drainage issues. 60+. Began coughing up a small amount of phlegm from chest cough, and doc says Medrol pack - 21 tabs. After 3 days, no phlegm, still coughing at night or when laughing, but have not slept for 3 days. That hurts. Symptoms are disappearing as I type. On 2nd and 3rd day, I was short of breath and dizzy playing golf. In 2.5 more days, I hope it's done, cough gone, and I can sleep again. PS take in the morning is supposed to stop the insomnia."

For Multiple Sclerosis "I am 63 and have had MS since 1992. Started with numbness from neck down for 2 years... then optic neuritis in '97, where I first discovered methylprednisolone and how it saved my eyesight. After that, tried interferon (paid $18,000 per year) nope... Failed... I have been through numerous relapses from dizziness, confusion (the worst if you ask me), optic neuritis twice, astigmatism 6 months... I couldn’t walk more than a few times (and I know I have it easy compared to some), but there are only 2 things I feel that have helped me... One is diet (Dr. Gregor) and the other is methylprednisolone... There is soooo much more to this story... Especially my screw-ups... If I just got this disease and knew what I have learned, I would read or watch Dr. Gregor's info on Dr. Swank's 5-7 minute video... and use methylprednisolone only when I really had to... It’s not perfect but will help you while you do the research and figure this out... Here is wishing you the best..."

Methylprednisolone "I was injected with 160 mg of Depo-Medrol after going in for allergies. I felt fine for the first couple of hours, but then my heart rate started fluctuating between 60-249 BPM. I felt really dizzy and had chest pain for about two days. I’m now on my sixth day after being on the shot, and I’ve been having really bad neck pain and stiff/sore muscle pains, although I’m not sure if it’s from the shot."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "Catastrophic and fatal as my mom passed away after 5 days from receiving the second dose of injection of 40 mg of Depo-Medrol. She got most of the undesirable side effects: shortness of breath, vomiting, tunnel vision, severe headache, dizziness, convulsions, and they couldn’t help her in the ICU."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Day two of methylprednisolone. Headaches, insomnia, dizziness, nausea, even taken with food. Pain ratio still at eight, hopefully will get to zero with massage and acupuncture. I have seen wonders with this medication, I just pray I am one of the wonders."

For Inflammatory Conditions "The doctor prescribed this to me along with Levaquin for a severe sinus infection. Took it for 4 days, and on the 5th day, terrible dizziness and unsteadiness on my feet. Insomnia and constipation have also been rearing their ugly heads. I'd take the sinus infection again, rather than feeling faint and dizzy all day."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I took this for about 6 days, realized it wasn’t doing anything but making me feel weird and slightly dizzy. 2 days later, I have a full-blown anxiety attack (thought it was a heart attack). Also, extreme headaches that have gotten slightly better after a week, but I still get sharp pains in my head. Also, blurred vision and dizziness. I was prescribed some anxiety medicine, and it has helped for the anxiety part of things, but the other effects are very extreme. Hopefully, they go away, but I say the chance of the aftereffects are not worth the risk of taking this! I’m happy I found this thread and saw it wasn’t just me going through these things."

For Allergic Rhinitis "Prior to my scheduled doctor's appointment, I developed an allergic reaction that caused my skin to itch and flare up. My doctor then prescribed this medication to me to help with the itching, rash, and my swollen glands. The first day of taking it, I felt off. Earlier in the day, I felt hot like I was experiencing a possible hot flash (I'm only 29), my face then became hot and red as though I had been out in the sun for too long. I felt lightheaded, dizzy, unbalanced. I just didn't feel like me. The next day, I didn't feel hot, though, I felt tired, very, very tired. I also felt hungry. I was on edge, I felt so anxious and irritable. I stopped taking it. I will be calling my doctor's office tomorrow. I would rather have swollen glands and itchy skin."

For Inflammatory Conditions "Took this for knee pain. I turned red the second day, but I finished the 6-day pack. I had tingling, shakes, dizziness, panic attacks. It's been about 6 weeks, and I don't feel 100%. Still have anxiety and started taking meds. I've taken this before and didn't realize it was giving me similar side effects. I think I will pass if I need it again, unless it's life or death."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I was given this medicine in the 6 Day Pack for an allergic reaction. Since I started taking this medication, I can't sleep, I maybe doze off for 20 minutes if I'm lucky. I feel very hostile and confused, like I can't progress my thoughts at all, and I keep forgetting what I'm doing. On top of that, I'm experiencing a lot of shortness of breath, and every time I stand up, I get dizzy. I'm incredibly thirsty and have to use the bathroom more often now since starting to take this medication. I can't wait to be finished with it, seeing it's 50/50 helped with my symptoms. The taste is horrible, like acid in my mouth, and I have to take it with milk to make sure it doesn't burn. Since yesterday morning, I've developed a sore throat and bloating."

"Was prescribed the 4 mg dose pack for swelling and bruising after a rhinoplasty. Wow, the side effects are horrendous. Oh, the first day I took the first 6 and experienced the side effects right away: diarrhea, upset stomach, extreme dizziness, feeling faint, shaky, insomnia, anxiety, shortness of breath. Just the worst. My swelling has gone down, BUT swelling is expected to go down around this time, therefore, not sure if it was the methyl. I only took a day's worth and decided that I will discontinue it. So it could very well not have made any difference. Rather have the swelling."

For Neuralgia "This drug is terrible! I finally got some courage to take it this morning. Well, after taking only 1 four mg pill, just 1, I started to feel lightheaded, somewhat dizzy, and my blood pressure, which is always low and normal, was 161/98 and a pulse of 112. This was not from me being worried, I calmed down and took it like an hour later, and it was that high! I can't take this medication! If I took 6 pills at once, I probably would have passed out. I also felt twitching in my kidneys, probably my adrenals! I started to shiver and felt cold, and when people say jittery, they mean it. I tried to sit and had to get up, which made me feel lightheaded. I drank 3 bottles of water and started to feel better, and my blood pressure decreased as the hours went on. I will deal with nerve pain until EMG to find out what is going on, and if possible, do injections so that it doesn't go systemic. I still feel tired and a bit cloudy-headed, couldn't concentrate at all."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I was experiencing unusual headaches, and I was prescribed Medrol 6 pack for inflammation. Day 1 - I took all 6 together because I got them in the evening. I felt a little heartburn and slept for 2 hours that night. Day 2 - After every dose, I experienced discomfort in my stomach, heartburn, backaches, couldn’t sleep that night, and sweating. Day 3 - The heartburn continued, my headaches were overwhelming, my chest was hurting with burning sensations, dizziness, overly energized, and backaches. So I went to the ER, they told me to stop taking the methylprednisolone medication due to the side effects. Now I’m back to square one with the headaches and side effects from this bad experience with Medrol. How long do these side effects last? Anyone knows?"
