Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "I had extreme fatigue with back pain, headache, and nausea for 3-4 weeks. I couldn't sleep but was tired all the time. After 2-3 days of taking the 6-day Dosepak, I felt 80% better. I was still a little fatigued, and my back still hurt some, but I truly felt 80% better. I am starting day 4 tomorrow and hope to continue on this path as life has been absolutely miserable the last few weeks."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I gave it 9 out of 10 as it did make me feel queasy. My most recent 'episode' with my cervical spine spun my world upside down. An inflamed and angry nerve is unlike anything else. I can't express how much pain I was experiencing...excruciating doesn't do it justice. Anyway, I don't like to take any kind of medication, but I was willing to sell my soul to the devil at this point. After taking all 6 pills on day 1, I immediately felt relief, not 100%, but SO much better! Day 2 began well, but as the day went on there was an increase in nerve pain. Day 3 was a rollercoaster day, but I still noticed improvement. Day 4 and 5 showed improvement (until I got hit with a water balloon). Day 6, I was still sore, but better. I hope the healing continues."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I had a very bad experience with this drug methylprednisolone. I have a knee problem, patellofemoral pain syndrome, the amount of side effects that I had from using it is beyond imagination: headache, nausea, depression, confusion, restlessness, anxiety, eye pain, urinating a lot (like every 15 minutes) that I actually started to feel pain during urination, irregular heart rhythm (very fast), and more... I took six pills the first day, once in the morning, and on the day after, I quit. That was enough for me, I could not bear it anymore. It felt like poison to me and it didn’t even solve my knee problem. To my surprise, some of the side effects lasted for almost a year after I stopped taking it. But thank goodness I think it’s over by now. It was awful and I wish I knew better before I took it. I think that if it's not a life-threatening condition, there is no way that I'm using it in the future!!! And I wish they would find some substitute for this ASAP."

Methylprednisolone for Allergic Rhinitis "I took this for one day only and experienced far worse symptoms. My heart was racing the entire night; I felt like I was having a heart attack. I had severe anxiety; I was sweaty, yet had the chills. I slept maybe 1 hour the entire night and tossed and turned hundreds of times. I felt sick to my stomach with overbearing nausea. I experienced abdominal pain the next day. I am discontinuing taking this. I would not recommend it to anyone."

Methylprednisolone for Inflammatory Conditions "The product is an effective bullet as I tend to get pneumonia bi-annually due to a compromised immune system (Lupus). I have been diagnosed with Osteo-necrosis caused by the steroid usage. In addition, it tends to make me extremely jittery and anxious, extraordinarily dizzy, unable to focus, nauseous, and to have blurred vision. (These might be an allergic reaction to the product, but am unsure). It has saved me many a trip for an extensive stay in the hospital and feel comfortable stating that while I have multiple side effects, the benefit most certainly outweighs them."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I am on the methylprednisolone 21-pill dose pack, and on day 1 it cured my sinus infection that would not go away after 2 long weeks. The side effects will hit you. I have experienced sleepless nights, racing heartbeat, and nausea, but tbh I’ll take that over the unrelenting sinus pressure and headaches I was experiencing. The aftertaste is not fun either, but again I can function now, so I’ll take it."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was prescribed this medicine for swollen tonsils, as I came up negative on the strep test. I was hesitant at first after reading reviews, but with our Europe trip in a week (at the time), I wanted to feel better, so I took it. The 6-day pack, tapering down the dosage. The first day and every time after, I had a headache and felt slightly nauseous. I was in a great mood as our trip was fast approaching. Fast forward to 2/3 days after the pack, my tonsils are swollen once again and ongoing headaches and terrible mood swings. I feel great sadness then anger. This is totally not my personality. It’s the day of our trip, and I’m sitting here holding tears back as I write this review. I hope this goes away quickly."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I have multiple herniated discs, and I was given the 6-day pack. I followed the instructions, but I've had no improvements. All it did was cause nausea at night, heartburn, insomnia, and had my anxiety through the roof if I tried to fall back to sleep."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was in a car accident. After taking Tramadol, Flexeril, and Naproxen every day while going to the chiropractor for 7 weeks, I still had pain in my upper and lower back, right shoulder blade, right arm, and wrist every day. I had 3 MRIs in week 9, which revealed 5 bulging/herniated discs with pinched nerves in my neck and 2 in my lower back. I was prescribed a Medrol Dose Pack (4 mg, 21 pills x 6 days) and had 70% pain relief afterward. Side effects from the Medrol Dose Pack I had were nausea, slight headaches, and trouble breathing (I never took the meds on an empty stomach and have no health problems, 31 years old). Four days after completing the dose pack, a majority of my pain reappeared again every day. I have now been prescribed aquatic therapy and IDD (cervical/lumbar mechanical traction)."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I went into the E.R. on Sept 8th, 2016, for a simple bug bite on my finger that became itchy and swollen after the 3rd evening. Was prescribed MEDROL along with clindamycin, Benadryl, and an antacid, none of which I've ever taken in my 39 years of living. After the 1st day, I became very emotional, low mood, I just kind of blew it off. 3rd day, my weight dropped 7 lbs! As of today, Dec 5th, down to 127 lbs & normally 138 lbs. SEVERE muscle loss, bulging eye, eyes blurry, extreme pressure in my head to the point I can't move sometimes, shakiness, depression, heart palpitations, bone & joint pain, painful jolts periodically, nausea, black stools, burning back & stomach, diarrhea & constipation, tingling, dizzy."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I constantly overthink things, worry, and assume I will have every side effect, so I never want to take medication. I had fluid in my middle ear for over 2 years and went to several doctors who basically did nothing. Finally, I was prescribed methylprednisolone 4 mg. I researched for days finding every bad side effect but got over myself and took the medicine. I had no nausea, dizziness, or heart palpitations. I had a little gas, but everything else was fine! It tastes terrible, but we've all drunk way worse things that only have harmed our bodies. It gave me some relief the first week, but now it's wearing off. It was a great treatment!"

For Asthma, acute "I have taken this medicine for bronchitis as I was supposed to do. I do not like the side effects. Last night, I woke up five times drenched in sweat. I couldn't get enough water in me. For the past 2 days, my face is swollen and red. I've been shaking, confused, nauseous, with a bad headache. I do not like this medicine."

For Inflammatory Conditions "My doctor put me on this to see for sure if I have lupus or a rheumatoid disease. He said if it made me feel better, then I probably did. This drug definitely took away my pain and stiffness. I have bad pain in my left knee that radiates up my hip, but that's from a torn meniscus that I'm receiving surgery for next week. The other pain is pretty okay. But I can't handle the side effects. As someone who is always nauseous, I can't handle being more nauseous than usual. If that wasn't a side effect, I would take the medicine every day to get relief from the pain I've been having. But I'm only 23 and have had such a crappy quality of life for the last seven years that I'm not willing to risk adding more nausea. Stopped taking it after 3 doses."

It made me nauseous, sweaty, and edgy. It also aggravated my anxiety disorder severely. I would not use this medicine again."

For Allergic Rhinitis "I have chronic sinusitis and rhinitis that went undiagnosed for years until a CT scan showed a complete blockage of my sinuses. 1-2 days on methylprednisolone (the 21-dose pack) brought incredible relief. I felt 10 years younger and could finally think clearly again. The instructions on the pack were clear, it was easy to take. I completed the pack and did not have any noticeable side effects (aside from a bit of nausea). Symptoms started to worsen slightly after stopping, but I hope the rest can be managed without this medication (it's supposed to have unpleasant long-term effects)."

For Inflammatory Conditions "I was prescribed a 6-day course of 4 mg methylprednisolone tablets to quicken the healing of an infection by the root of my tooth post-root canal. I took my first two pills around 12 p.m. By 1 p.m., I was experiencing unbearable pressure in my head, especially behind my eyes, sensitivity to light and swelling in both eyes, weakness, body pains, nausea, and a lot of anger/anxiety. After two hours, my eye/head pressure subsided around 80%, and my nausea was gone. I felt comfortable to try taking my second dose of two pills at 5 p.m. Within 30 minutes, all of my bad reaction symptoms came back tenfold, my left eye swelled badly and bulged. I had to go to emergency care. I was instructed to stop taking the pills and see an eye doctor if needed. It's been 16 hours since my last dose, and I feel like I've been hit by a truck. I suffer from chronic migraines, and I've never felt a headache like this. Thankfully, my eye swelling and bulging subsided, but I am still having light sensitivity and pain."

For Inflammatory Conditions "All was good when I was taking them, besides a headache. I was, like everyone else, felt young again. I have rheumatoid arthritis. I loved the medicine, until it was done. I've had an opioid problem and had severe withdrawals from it. This is right next to it. I only did a one-week pack: 6, then 5, then 4, so on. I wish I was warned of the aftereffects, I would have NEVER taken them. If I never had to stop, they would be wonderful, but the withdrawals from just one week's use had been awful. It's been 3 days, and I still have a headache, muscle aches, fuzzy head, no energy, and sick to my stomach. I threw up the day after I stopped and have had an upset stomach since. Depression. I'm finally starting to feel a little normal. I will never take them again unless it's life or death."

"I'm not sure if this drug helped me, but it didn't seem to affect me negatively. My doctor asked me if I had a history of tolerating steroid medications before prescribing me this drug. I told him yes, that I was once prescribed prednisone and had no side effects. It's hard to say if methylprednisolone gave me side effects, since I was taking cefdinir concurrently, and they are both drugs that I've never had before. I experienced some nausea on the second day of both of these drugs, but it didn't last long and only happened once. I wondered if methylprednisolone would calm my eczema, but it did not. The tablets are very bitter and dissolve readily on the tongue with an unpleasant aftertaste. Lots of water helps flush out the taste. I was nervous to take so many tablets on the first day, but I followed package instructions and took the six 4 mg tablets on the first day in the evening. I had no issues. I felt steadily better over the course of both medications."
