"I have been dealing with psoriasis since I was about 8-9 years old, maybe even before - I'm now 23. I've tried all kinds of creams, ointments, and shampoo, and nothing seems to work to where it's tolerable. It started with my scalp and in between my toes, now it's progressed to my face (eyebrows, nose), behind/in ears, and even worse on my feet now. I was put on methotrexate 3 weeks ago, and it seems like it's gotten a lot worse before I was even put on it. Summer time is the worst time for me because the minute my scalp gets warm, I itch like crazy 'til I bleed. It's just terrible."

"I suffered from psoriasis for 7-8 months with acutely cracked feet and hands. It was painful and embarrassing. I tried all therapies-homeopathy, naturopathy, and Ayurvedic treatments, nothing worked. Then I resorted to allopathy. The doctor started with steroidal creams on the cracks, and they healed a bit. But later, after 2 months, he put me on Folitrax 10 mg, and I responded well with no discomfort. Then he increased it to 15 mg until today (10 months of treatment) with DOM-DT, Folitrax 15, and a folic acid tab 24 hours later a week. I get, at times, discomfort in my head and stomach, but you should not lie down after these meds-work and be more active! I started getting hair fall, so the doctor gave me calpanthenate. I have totally stopped milk products, nightshades, and all gluten. I have lactose-free milk, jowar, bajra, ragi flour, and egg whites, pulses (no kidney beans or chanas), and veggies with the least condiments. I am now thankful for my soft and supple hands and feet."

"Diagnosed with moderate severe psoriasis at age 14 and am now 66. Treated with topicals and UVB for decades. Began 15 mg methotrexate and 1 gm folic acid 2 years ago, and skin is mostly clear. Some fatigue, but routine blood work is WNL. Thankful for this drug and encourage psoriasis sufferers to consider it."

"I am a 76-year-old male who developed psoriasis at 14. It developed to the severe plaque form, and I tried every conventional treatment to little effect - coal tar, UV light, colloid baths, low-dose X-ray, etc. At age 25, I was prescribed methotrexate, and to say it was life-changing is an understatement. We tried several dosage therapies, but the one that consistently works best for me is 25 mg once per week. I have liver function tests every few months but have not required biopsies for many years. I may be among the lucky few but have never experienced adverse symptoms, whether I take it with food or not. For me, this will be a lifelong regimen for which I am extremely grateful."

"After minimal success with Otezla, Taltz, and Dupixent, I started Methotrexate 20 mg orally once a week in a divided dose. It has been the best medication so far, and I am about 90% clear of scalp psoriasis. I did take Himyroz (Humira bio-equivalent) for 3 months in between, with severe hair loss and minimal clearing of psoriasis."

"Fantastic results! I have fairly severe psoriasis on both my shins, elbows, and scalp. I was quite anxious about wearing shorts. It pretty much cleared up after being on the medication for six months. It took around three months to take effect, but it was worth the wait. I take 10 mg once weekly with folic acid. The only issues were a bit of a headache on the dosing days and some hair loss. The hair loss was a concern, but it seems to have settled with the right hair products. The only reason why I would not rate it a 10 is that. Overall, I am very satisfied and will carry on with the medication. I hope this review helps!"

"When taken regularly, it cleared 99% of palmar plantar psoriasis. It began with 15mg once a week. That dose cleared my hands after 6-10 weeks, but it didn't fully clear my feet. The dose was increased to 17.5mg, and my feet gradually cleared. I attempted a methotrexate "holiday" of 6 weeks, and my foot symptoms returned and were stubborn this time. The 17.5mg dose didn't get on top of it until the dose was increased to 20mg for a couple of months. Then, I returned to 17.5mg. Some weight loss has been achieved by going to the gym (the specialist advised me to lose weight, as I was over 80kg). I am currently on 17.5mg and about to reduce the dose back to 15mg, to test if this is the lowest effective dose. SIDE EFFECTS: Very few. Feeling "wiped out" (fatigue) for a day or two after the dose. Occasional loose bowel movements. I notice that I'm prone to bruising. Hair thinning could be due to age (65). I lost much more hair on the Accutane drug."
