For Uterine Fibroids "I have been on Lupron for 3 years. I began the shot in 2013 with an 11 cm fibroid that was too large for surgery at the time. I am now in my late 50s and still testing positive on hormone tests. In other words, if I go off Lupron, I am assuming the fibroid will grow again and I will begin to menstruate again and have heavy bleeding and large clots. My headaches became much less, and I only have hot flashes towards the end of my 3-month shot. I get shots quarterly. My bone density was just shy of normal with no concerns for many years. I take calcium, D3, and K2 (MK7 - helps make calcium go to bone, not soft tissue like calcification and bone spurs). For me, it has been the best thing in my life. I can't imagine why people have bad results. Oh, and no weight gain."

For Prostate Cancer "Received a 6-month injection of Eligard. Approaching 8 months since the injection, and I am still having several hot flashes every day and night. Unfortunately, there is not a remedy that will bring an end to the episodes."

For Prostate Cancer "I just got my 3rd shot of Eligard. Hard to say exact side effects, because I also have end-stage COPD. I haven't got a PSA yet, prior to Eligard, it was 7, then 17, then 24. Due to COVID, I put off seeing an oncologist for 7 months. I got both Moderna vax in March. I started radiation in April and finished on June 9. It seems each shot of Eligard is getting a bit worse. This last one hurt and burned longer, a minor issue. Hot flashes seem more frequent. I too go to the bathroom about 9 or 10 times a night, every 1 to 1.5 hours, but that was happening before Eligard. I am dizzy a lot, and I don't have much energy (I used to be quite active). I am 66 years old. My cancer rated as Stage 3, there were tumors on 8 of 12 biopsy samples. Surgery wasn't an option since scans showed it may have spread to lymph nodes. I will update this (if possible) with my PSA score this September. Good luck to everyone. I can't recommend Eligard or condemn it as of this writing."

For Prostate Cancer "I was given two injections of Eligard before beginning radiation therapy. Following the 48 radiation treatments, I am still being monitored by my oncologist and urologist. My last PSA was 0.01. The side effects of hot flashes, lethargy, and muscle weakness are where I am today, although at my age, 79, I can't complain. The first of the injections was in April of 2008 and the second in August. Radiation began in early September 2008 and ended at the end of October. It was determined that I am not a candidate for Androgel as there is a possibility of developing cancer again. So, as you read from the preceding paragraph, I'm lucky to have passed my first year without problems."

For Prostate Cancer "My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago. Underwent surgery to have prostate removed, as well as lymph nodes and some cancer that was on his bladder. He started the Eligard injections every 3 to 4 months since. His PSA levels have remained at 1.0 until recently. A friend suggested he take a multivitamin of Quercetin, zinc, stinging nettle root, Vitamin C, and D3. He has been taking it for 3 weeks and just went back in for another injection. His PSA was 0, but yet they still gave him the injection. If his PSA is 0, why would he need another injection? He continues to suffer from all the same side effects of night sweats, frequent urination, mood swings, depression, and loss of memory. I want him to stop the shots, but wondering if anyone else has quit taking the shots with a PSA of 0."

For Prostate Cancer "I am 87 and have been treated with Lupron for about 6 years. I just had a checkup, and my PSA level was .430. My last shot was in April. It is hard to tell when I will have another shot, I will check in with my doctor in four months. So far, the only side effect is the hot flushing. It is fairly regular, lasts about 45 seconds or so, and is a bit annoying, but considering it is keeping the cancer at bay, I can live with it."

For Prostate Cancer "On Lupron beginning July 2017. Now 2019 and still on a 3-month dose. I experience all the known side effects, and it is not much fun. I am 66 years old and have advanced prostate cancer stage 3. My PSA is undetectable since surgery and 40 radiation treatments. Hot flashes, weight gain, fatigue, tingle in feet, itching, impotence, and bone aches. PSA is still undetectable...going off Lupron in May 2020...we will see what happens then."

Lupron injections accompanied by daily tablets of Bicalutamide. Side effects: penis shrinkage (afraid it will soon disappear), libido absent, hot flashes, some insomnia, increased neuropathy, some itching, inflammation in hands, extreme fatigue. For Endometriosis "I started Lupron about a month ago. I started taking it after the doctor told me I had stage 1 endometriosis. About a year before, I found out I had PCOS, which caused me to gain a lot of weight, about 23 lbs. Since I've been on Lupron, I've been feeling so much better, and I've lost 7 lbs! The only thing I have been struggling with is the hot flashes. Other than that, I've been doing very well on the shot."

For Uterine Fibroids "I got my first Lupron shot on 07/22/2019 for fibroids. My obgyn decided to put me on Lupron to attempt to shrink my fibroids/Uterus so I can have a safe hysterectomy. I haven't had a menstrual cycle since 07/22/2019, that's awesome. So far I am experiencing: the first week my buttock was very sore/tender from the injection site. I am experiencing a lot of hot flashes throughout the day and at night, they last a few minutes. No night sweats. My body, but mainly my legs, ache and feel tingly/numb. Restless nights, having trouble staying asleep. My hair is now very dry and brittle and hair loss (it was healthy before). Vaginal dryness. Memory problems, trouble focusing. I am forgetting a lot of things. Major mood swings, from very angry to crying. Increased appetite (carb craving). I hope all this is worth it in the end. None of these side effects are unbearable, but I definitely do not feel like myself. Round 2 coming up on 10/22/2019."

For Endometriosis "I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis and was prescribed Lupron. After reading all of the horrible reviews and side effects, I was terrified to try this. After chatting with my doctor, we both agreed that this would be the most aggressive treatment as my husband and I would like to get pregnant one day. I am on month 3 of the shot, and I have to say that I am pleased. The worst thing are the hot flashes. For me, they are at least 10 times a day! But I will take that over the excessive cramping and pain any day. I feel minor cramps occasionally during the time I would normally have my period. I have experienced no depression, weight gain, weight loss, bleeding, joint pain, etc. I am hoping after the treatments I will be able to conceive."

For Uterine Fibroids "I had extremely painful periods and constant bleeding. My doctor started me on the shot in Jan. and had the second one in March. Best thing I ever did. No bleeding after the 1st month and no pain after the 2nd month. Side effects were, in my opinion, mild. Worst were the hot flashes, but in my opinion, worth it. Doctor only wanted me to have 2 shots, so after June, going to see what happens. I don't want to get on any birth control, so will see what happens. I'm really hoping this makes it all better."

For Uterine Fibroids "I had my heavy period and strong and constant pain, which stops me from doing my normal life for more than 5 years. Since I have started to inject this Lupron, it has changed my life. After all those painful years, now I have had 4 injections already and go for the fifth one. The only side effect I had is hot flashes, especially during nights, and some bone pain, which are nothing to compare with the pain I had for more than 5 years. It is really worth trying if you are experiencing heavy bleeding and pain."

For Precocious Puberty "My 8-year-old daughter had signs of CPP: breast buds, armpit odor, and excessive height. After seeing the specialist and getting tests, the ultrasound said she developed 5 cysts on her ovaries. The hand x-ray said she had a bone age of 10. She started the monthly Lupron shot. She is now 10, and she has no cysts on her ovaries now. Yet her bone age shows 12. Her breast buds are completely gone. She never gained any excess weight. No night sweats. We plan to stop the shot right after her 11th birthday."

For Prostate Cancer "This is pure poison. I have very bad side effects from this poison, and the doctor said he can do nothing. The physical and mental pain is so bad: hot flashes, very high blood pressure, headaches every day, pain urinating, joint pain, mental confusion, brain fog, memory loss, totally itchy all over, sleeplessness, very bad fatigue, and a lot more. My doctor never told me anything about this poison, just injected me with a 6-month supply at $6,000.00."

For Uterine Fibroids "I had to get the 3-month Lupron Depot shot to help shrink my uterine fibroid and to help minimize the bleeding before surgery. After reading all the reviews on the shot, I was very scared to get it, but I am now going into my third month on the shot with minimal side effects. My doctor did recommend that I continue my birth control pills while on the shot to help add a little estrogen back into my system. I'm not sure if that's what helped me with the side effects. All in all, everyone's body reacts differently."

For Endometriosis "I really feel it is important to share my experience with this drug. I did extensive research before making my decision to start the Lupron Depot pack. I was scared, and I prayed to have a good experience since most reviews for this drug are awful. I am grateful to be able to give this drug TWO THUMBS UP! I am taking one-month shots combined with the add-back pills. The first month, I experienced NO increase in symptoms. I bled for the first month and a half, now my constant bleeding is gone! For the first month, I experienced very mild hot flashes, now none at all. My quality of life is 110% better, and I am pain-free. I am so grateful I took a chance on this medication. I finally got a break from the constant pain and exhaustion from endo."

For Prostate Cancer "I was given this poison for the first time, May 2nd, 2019. The doctors/nurses would NOT tell me the name of it. Only referred to it as: hormone therapy. 60 seconds AFTER the nurse shoved a 22.5 mg 3-month dose of it into my butt. The doctor's assistant walked up to me, handed me a booklet: 'Understanding Lupron Therapy', said: You better TAKE THIS HOME AND READ IT, she laughed, turned around and said: 'see ya'. When I got home, I turned to the 1st page. It said: 'side effects': 'heart attacks, strokes, bone damage, diabetes, AND, 'sudden death......' I was so angry. She injected me with a POISON. For 10 weeks, I was so angry, mad it was indescribably bad. The worst 3 months of my life!"

For Prostate Cancer "My father has prostate cancer, and he was given the Lupron shot. Everything was going fine for my dad until 2 weeks after the shot. He started having side effects from the shot. Now, before I go any further, let me just say, if anyone has PTSD, do not take this drug. My father started seeing things that were not there, hearing things that no else could hear, and smelling things that no one else could smell. Now, not everyone will have the same side effects, but if you have PTSD, it will kick it into gear. This might be the right treatment for you, it is not for my dad. Again, if you struggle with PTSD, this may not be the treatment for you. I hope this was helpful in some way."

For Endometriosis "Don't do it! I got the 3-month shot 1 month ago and have had these symptoms so far: constant and severe pelvic pain, sharp lower back pain, pain when the bladder is full and when emptying, lots of migraines and headaches, nausea, vomiting, high anxiety, extreme fatigue, very low mood swings, loss of appetite, and insomnia. The worst symptom of all is the severe depression, I have had several thoughts of suicide. I would rather deal with just the pain than all of these together. I was told by my doctor the only symptom I would get is hot flashes, and she had only heard of success stories with this drug, that was a total lie. If you react badly with other birth controls, do not do Lupron, it's a living nightmare!"

For Endometriosis "Stage 4 endometriosis. I've been on Lupron for 3 months and will get another injection next week. I've had a few hot flashes, about 1x/day occasionally, but not every day. I have stayed below my original weight by about 5 lb. Some moodiness/occasional depression. But overall, I haven't had any major problems! I was very worried about side effects before starting Lupron, but am glad I did it. I want to be healthy! I'm getting married next weekend also, so have been planning a wedding at the same time. We're hoping to get pregnant next year!"

For Uterine Fibroids "I had my first Lupron shot on August 10, 2012. I started bleeding on August 21, and it is now September 29, and I have been bleeding ever since. I've had a problem with anemia due to two fibroids. I had my second Lupron shot on September 10. I'm not sure I should continue this because I'm scared I won't be able to have surgery on November 2 due to anemia caused by blood loss. Overall, Lupron is not working for me."

For Endometriosis "I was on Lupron for 6 months back in 09. The side effects weren't bad for me at first, but I have to say the night sweats were the worst! I just hated waking up in the middle of the night, needing to shower because I was so sweaty. However, I was pain-free! I had an AWESOME summer and went camping, mountain biking, traveling. My pain has slowly come back over the years, and my (new) doctor just gave me my first shot of Lupron yesterday. I am hoping it works just as well as it did the first time. I want to be me again."

For Prostate Cancer "At age 60, biopsy showed prostate cancer, PSA was 10. Had it out. After it was out, PSA was still ten. Started Lupron, and PSA dropped to 0 for two years. Then my doc suggested I go without the Lupron... I did for 8 months, and my PSA climbed to 4. Back on Lupron, and it dropped to zero. Did Lupron for another year, then went off of it again. Why? The side effects: bad arthritis, hot flashes, weight gain, 30 lbs in the first two months, then no more. No libido, and everything shrinks. No body hair. It was a joy to get off that stuff for a while, but my PSA started climbing again. Now back on Lupron, but no change in PSA. Went to a monthly shot, my PSA stayed at 4. Added Casodex, grew boobs, really bad. My PSA is now 2. I've been fighting cancer now for 6 years."
