"I was prescribed ibuprofen 800 mg for chronic pain due to fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis in the hips, back, neck, shoulders, and knees. The ibuprofen causes my face to swell into my ears, causing my ears to feel painful and clogged. Every time I take it, it causes my inner ear to swell, and it's a very uncomfortable feeling."

"It's my favorite NSAID. It helps with muscle pain more than others. Excellent for dental pain! It's too hard on my intestines (as it is warned in many places). I only take it when it's prescribed to me or if I sprain my wrist or ankle badly. Other than that, I don't touch it. I have some intestinal issues. NSAIDs cause inflammation in the intestines, and it does not relieve the pain for me. It doesn't matter what kind. I can use 'methyl salicylate' topically, which is what I usually do for sprains or other muscle pain. For the rare fever, I use a different NSAID. I still prefer ibuprofen over the other OTCs. It is more effective for me."
