For Osteoarthritis "I had the injection in my hip seven months ago. The doctor told me there are no side effects. It either works or not, but no risks for me. Well, a few weeks after the injection, the pain kicked in, gradually from level 4 to a 9 now. I can hardly walk. I feel pins and needles, heat, numbness, vibrations, from the hip all the way to the ankle. The pain is excruciating. It feels like I'm fainting. I believe I'm going to lose my leg soon, due to paralysis. No doctor is able to help me. No one knows what to do to save my leg. The Sanofi team didn't even want to hear from me. Simply, they told me Synvisc One has been made for knees only. So why are doctors injecting it in other joints??? Malpractice??? Experimental???"

For Osteoarthritis "I had Synvisc-One shots in both knees about 3 1/2 weeks ago. During the first 2 weeks, my legs were so stiff and my calf muscles were very tight. I found I could hardly get up and down. In the third week, the stiffness has eased a bit. I experienced numbness in both my feet, which was not present before the shots. Pain and mobility are actually worse. The physician advised it would take 4 weeks for the injections to be fully effective. So far, I have not found the injections to be helpful at all. I will give it another week before making my final decision. But it is not likely I will take these injections again unless I see a dramatic improvement soon."

For Osteoarthritis "The Synvisc One injections have made my knee pain a little better, but I am now having severe stiffness in my calves, foot pain, swelling, and numbness I did not have until after the shots. It is about 7 weeks post-injection. (The first 3-4 weeks were the absolute worst). I will not have them again and hope the injections will wear off in the next 4 months and my legs/feet will return to normal. I am considering seeing a different Ortho doctor and praying for a better solution!"
