For Osteoarthritis "I had a Synvisc-One shot about 7 months ago in my right knee. The injection was not painful at all - just uncomfortable as the thick fluid goes into the knee. I had pain relief for 6 full months. After this experience, I decided to get 2 shots - one in each knee. I had the shots done yesterday, and the pain from the shots was excruciating. The experience was nothing like the first time. I felt like I was going to pass out and as if I had been 'sucker punched' in the gut. I couldn't get off the exam table for 20 minutes and could barely get in my car to drive home. I was in such pain and discomfort I went to bed and slept for 12 hours. Today, I still have discomfort and aching."

For Osteoarthritis "I had the original Synvisc 3 in my left knee with no measurable improvement and ultimately had a complete knee replacement. My right knee is a complete success story. I have had four Synvisc One injections, and I am scheduled for another next month. The pain relief was incredible, yes, the shot itself is uncomfortable, but not excruciating. I have had anywhere from five to six months of relief each time. I would recommend this procedure to anyone."

For Osteoarthritis "I had a Synvisc One injection to my shoulder after the MRI noted limited cartilage remaining, some tears, and arthritis. It was uncomfortable to painful for 7-10 days, and since then has been extraordinary. I have no pain and minimal discomfort with movement. I used to wake in pain during the night, but I am no longer bothered at all. I have gone back to powerlifting and am able to bench press with no problems. It has been incredible and is still effective five months in."

For Osteoarthritis "2nd shot of Synvisc in 8 months. I had worse knee pain and discomfort and developed severe muscle hip pain. A $1000 a shot!! I feel that originally I had minimal relief but feel that this drug is overrated. I had to have a cortisone shot, which gave me comfort and relief from severe pain, and it was only $20! If need be, I can get one every 3 months, but most people will receive the injection every 6 months. A new drug is going to be released soon after its trial, and it is called Ampe. I am hoping that it will be successful. No one wants to get their knee replaced, and it is a final result..."

"I tore/obliterated my Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), had my meniscus cut and sewn back together on both sides, had 2 surgeries, drained 30cc of fluid from the ACL joint at one point, and lots of $$ PT. After 2 years after the accident, I still was unable to bend my knee fully. I tried regular cortisone shots, but they only lasted a month before the pain would come back. The doctor said it was not good to get a lot of cortisone shots. So I did my research and found this gel. I asked him about it, and he agreed that it might be a good try. It maybe took 2 weeks before I started to notice a difference. I was uncomfortable for a few days right after, but nothing major. This was all 3 years ago since I had the shot, and I have not had one issue since. I'm back to normal and no side effects or signs of slowing down."

For Osteoarthritis "I had two prior series of Synvisc-One injections and had some relief. I get a lidocaine shot before each injection to help with pain. This third series has been awful. I have been in agony and have not been able to walk. My left leg calf muscles felt like they were being ripped apart. I was literally in tears daily. I did tell the medical staff of my pain. Third injection was almost two weeks ago and I am still in agony much of the time. Only when I have a full dose of prescription and OTC pain meds, plus lidocaine and other topical applications, in my system do I get relief. And I have to be very careful as to how I move, so as to not jar the leg and start the pain. I have been worse off than I ever was before."
