For Asthma "Switched from Breo to Trelegy recently, based on breathing expiratory tests indicated it might help. This is the height of my allergy season, when my asthma is at its worst. Rhinitis, sinusitis, whatever, it is stuffy head and stuffed-up noses, all make breathing deeply a chore. Trelegy does not seem to be working as well as the previous product, which I had only just begun using, and with good results. Trelegy does seem to improve breathing -- i.e., less 'air hunger,' but so did Breo. One negative side effect is weight gain. Not sure why, unless it is the steroids increasing my appetite. But two pounds in two days does not portend good long-term results. May go back to Breo if this continues, and see if same weight gain happens with that product too."

For COPD "Started taking it one month now. Breathing much easier, use my rescue inhaler much less. My doctor put me on it after my 3rd episode of COPD with pneumonia in less than a year, and my breathing got worse after Covid. Negatives: body aches, flu-like symptoms, and fatigue I'm experiencing, and a cough that won't go away. Trade-off? Will give it another month when I go back for my follow-up. I do like breathing better."

For COPD "Had a 2-week trial usage of Trelegy and was going great for the 1st week. Used every morning, breathing really improved, but during the 2nd week, I got recurrent, very bad sore (at night only) throat even though I thoroughly rinsed afterward and brushed, hoarseness with a deep cough to clear airway, became very nasally like I was catching a cold during the early part of the days after getting out of bed, headaches, and also at night, very bright halo around images on TV which hurt my eyes trying to focus. Will not continue using."

"Worked very well for a week, with less breathlessness, faster recovery, good energy levels, much less fatigue and tiredness, and a general sense of 'this is better.' Then on day 8, all the benefits vanished, and I was left with a foul-tasting mouth and flatulence that would clear out a World War One trench of a hundred conscripts."

For COPD "I have COPD and have been on every inhaler on the market. None of them give me enough relief to be able to carry out daily activities. The problem I find with all of the dry powdered inhalers is that most of the powder ends up in the back of my throat. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, or if anyone else has this problem, but it means that the medication is not getting into my lungs. I may have side effects from Trelegy, it's hard to tell since I have some side effects from all of them."

For COPD "Have taken Trelegy for 1 year - it works but had to stop taking it as the cost went from $131 for 3 months to $500 for a 3-month supply. Being a senior, the manufacturer is taking us to the cleaners. Living on a budget, you have to decide whether to take food or no food. I know this will not make a difference to the manufacturers. Thought drugs were supposed to be going down, but guess not."

For Asthma "I have been using this inhaler for two days and have seen some improvement as far as breathing in and breathing out, and the tight chest is minimal. I think it’s a really good inhaler, and I hope to continue to use it. The only side effect that I can tell is the upper part of my mouth has a sore maybe and a little itchy at the roof of my mouth. Other than that, it’s not out of control or anything else for that matter, but I do know it’s there."

For Asthma "I have moderate to severe asthma, with air trapping and hyperinflation, and bronchiectasis. Also, a reduction in FVC, FEV1, and especially MVV. I've tried Spiriva, Symbicort, Breo, and Advair, but I still needed a rescue inhaler often. Then my breathing has gotten much worse. I can't breathe after approximately 10 minutes of laying prone. I have to sit up because I'm gasping for breath. Also, now whenever I move, I get out of breath. The last month has been significantly worse. I switched to Trelegy Ellipta to try (but cringed at the cost). My breathing has been much improved on Trelegy Ellipta, but I can't afford it. I'm almost out, only have a few days left. I've contacted GSK ASSISTANCE for help because Medicare won't provide assistance. I can't breathe without this medicine. The dosage is 200mcg/62.5mcg/25mcg, once a day. I hope this helps."

For COPD "My breathing is much better. I don't need albuterol now. I was using albuterol multiple times a day. Side effects of Trelegy have been: hyperalertness, elevated mood, insomnia, increased appetite. I have to have more than 24-36 hours between doses. I am experimenting with a good schedule. Easy to use, similar to other inhalers. I don't know if my doctor will keep me on this drug. I have adverse reactions to many medications."

"Suffer SOBOE (shortness of breath on exertion). Dr. says COPD, but I am a latent asthmatic with no attacks in 25 years. I am 85, go to senior aerobics in the fall to get ready for skiing. Been skiing for 75 years, so I am not a basket case. Doubling up on Advair did not help. Moved to Breo with 10-15% better. On Trelegy trial (20 doses) with noticeably better. Cost in Canada about $105 - have not paid yet. Benefit plan + plus Gov't health program. PAY."

For Asthma "I used Trelegy Ellipta for three months. I found it did not last 24 hours but rather after 7 hours, I had to use my rescue inhaler. I started to have leg cramps and spasms in the second month of use. I also noticed increased blood pressure. After the third month, I stopped using this medication and switched to a different medication."

For COPD "I was put on it in the hospital while being treated for an acute COPD flare-up. I have also had asthma most of my life. It seems to help a lot with only one dose a day for me. Downside is it's really expensive and my insurance didn't want to cover it right away, I guess because it's so new. Possible side effects for me were dry mouth and feeling a little amped up. I attribute the speedy effects to getting used to a new bronchodilator... which generally has stimulant effects. It seems to bother me less as I get used to it. In all, it's been a major help in getting my air back."

For COPD "When I first started using Trelegy, I felt great that my lungs were opened up. I wasn't doing it daily, I ended up in the hospital with an upper respiratory infection, so I stopped taking it for a while. Well, when I started back on it, it's not as worthy as it was, but now I'm experiencing bladder problems. So I've got to stop taking it again. I know there is a God that will help me. Good luck, everyone."

For COPD "I have noticed an immediate improvement with my breathing even at night, but I do have other side effects I hope go away soon. As of today (3/11/2024), I've only been taking it for about 5 days. Side effects are: gastrointestinal upset, headache, general unwell feeling as though I'm getting sick. Hopefully, these go away after a week or so. Generally, I'm pleased with the effectiveness of this medication."

For COPD "Been trying to get the VA to authorize Trelegy for me. My pulmonologist gave me two 14-day samples, and I couldn't believe the relief in breathing it provided for me. The doctor wrote a prescription for me to take to Walmart, but the price was $799.00, which I couldn't afford. I requested that my prescription be sent to the VA, but they want me to take a cheaper medication that cannot provide me with the same relief as Trelegy. I am fighting with the VA. I have two doctors, one is a VA doctor and the other is a community one trying to help the VA to authorize it. I pray and hope they will comply with the doctors' orders. I rate Trelegy a 111%."

For COPD "I was given Trelegy by my doctor for my COPD. I had a bad breathing episode the other night, so I used Trelegy several times. This was probably a mistake. I have been off of it for about 4 days, but the side effects have been awful. I have very bad back pain and can hardly stand up straight. I am waiting for the meds to get out of my system. I am in a great deal of pain and using ice packs as well as heat. Everything is an effort to do. I will never take this drug again, though it cost me a lot of money. Ventolin and advice are better."

For Asthma "Trelegy Ellipta is a game changer for my asthma, but the increase in heart rate is not worth it, plus the fluid retention. Heart rate goes from normal in the 60s to 80s to the high 90s. Sadly, the side effects are too much for me. Great drug other than my side effects."

For Asthma "I have been taking Trelegy for quite some time now and noticed it works great but only for so long. My go-to secondary inhaler was Symbicort which worked fabulous but insurance stopped paying for it. I get this crazy brain and body rush right after I inhale and hold my breath for just a few seconds. But all in all, Trelegy is a pretty great medication."

For COPD "Started with Ellipta 100 and it worked great, but was increased to 200 when I had a compression fracture and was having lots of shortness of breath. Was great for a while, but it seems like it isn't helping now. I want to go back to 100 or try something new. Had back surgery 4 weeks ago."

For COPD "The drug is very effective at opening up my airways and making me feel more energetic/less tired. I have been taking it for 21 days so far. The big downside is that the drug tastes (to me) like a Klingon's armpit. Extremely sharp bitter taste. Gargling and rinsing are effective but still leave a slight taste. My voice has changed - more hoarse and occasionally briefly (1 or 2 words) stops working. Not happy about this, but I balance that against being more active rather than tired and slothful, so I will live with that until I can find something better. I also have a slightly sore throat. I am going for extensive lung function testing in about 2 months so will see if there are other options."

For COPD "It makes congestion. It causes cough when I inhale it. I think it makes more phlegm in the throat. It causes headaches. It does help with my breathing daily. Very useful in regard to taking just once a day, that's great. My concern is inhaling too much in a dose."

For COPD "I have level 4 COPD and have been using my albuterol inhaler about 10 times a day for my breathing issues, which I know is way too much. I have been on Trelegy for one month and have not used my albuterol inhaler no more than 5 times total. I am very, very grateful for Trelegy and wish I had started taking it sooner, but because of the price, I was unable to afford it. But since I just turned 65, I am able to afford it. No side effects for me, and I do have heart disease."
