For Birth Control "Things this medicine has done to me or made worse: sudden severe headaches, anxiety, nausea. I have symptoms of depression-sleep problems, weakness, tired feeling, mood changes. Feeling of warmth in one or both legs."

For Birth Control "I was on Mononessa for years. Walgreens switched me over to Estarylla, and I have had nothing but problems: spotting between periods, mood swings, and cramping. It has been awful. I felt like I was sick or had a medical problem until I read the other reviews. I called Walgreens and lodged a complaint. I will have to find a new pharmacy. I have been on this medication for 2 months, and I can’t take it anymore."

For Birth Control "I've always taken Mononessa as birth control, which I loved-barely saw any side effects, and it was very convenient. My pharmacy has (several times!) given me the generic Estarylla, and while I know it's basically the same thing, I can't help but hate it. The few times I've had to go through a month of using the Estarylla, my mood swings were TERRIBLE. Again, no real side effects when I took the Mononessa. Also, the Estarylla packaging is the WORST. The blister pack is flimsy and doesn't close properly, so my pills are just out there in the open."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I have ever been on. I have had every single bad side effect. I have gotten a lasting headache every single day, I am so anxious 24/7, and moody and angry and sad. I have never struggled with acne, but ever since I started this pill, I started breaking out, and they have not gone away since. I have gained 12 pounds in the last month, and that weight will not go away no matter what I try. On top of that, I had my period for the first 3 weeks of taking Estarylla. Horrible, horrible, horrible. I'm switching off of this ASAP."

For Birth Control "I have been on Estarylla for about 6 months now, and I have had just about every side effect I could think of. Extreme weight gain and loss every other month, loss of appetite, loss of libido, and extreme mood swings. It helped my acne for a little while, and now it has returned. I haven't gotten pregnant, so that's good. I am just too scared to stop taking it or start taking something new because of my acne."

For Birth Control "Actually, the worst pill ever. I’m stopping this pill tomorrow. I already have really bad anxiety, and this just made it so much worse. I’ve been so mean to my boyfriend and have had HORRIBLE mood swings. I have been so anxious to the point where I just cry, and I even shake sometimes, which never has happened. My appetite has gone down, and I just don’t want to eat. My skin has dried out, and I just feel so down literally every second of the day. I love working out, and this pill has made me so unmotivated to the point where I just question everything. Please just don’t take this and talk to your doctor about other options. This isn’t worth it, and destroying your mental health is most definitely not worth it for this pill."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy recently switched manufacturing companies, so my BC switched from Sprintec to Estarylla. I've been on Sprintec for 5 years, never had an issue. I was once switched to the brand name but had bad acne because of it and was switched back to Sprintec. I just finished 1 pack of Estarylla and currently have my period. I'm having TERRIBLE mood swings. I'm usually moody the day before my period and not during. I feel like I want to punch a hole in a wall. That's how bad my mood swings and irritability are right now. I'm calling my OB/GYN first thing in the morning to get switched back and have my prescription sent to a different pharmacy. I should have believed the reviews before taking this horrible birth control."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been on this birth control for about a week and a half, and so far it’s been great. I was very scared to try it because of all the bad reviews. I take it at night at 9 pm. The only side effect I've had was being super emotional, I'm very sensitive to everything. I had a huge headache for like 8 hours, but it went away after that. I hope this was helpful."

For Ovarian Cysts "I have recently been taking Estarylla for about 1 month now and just stopped it completely. It did help with my secondary amenorrhea. I usually get my period once every 4-7 months, and I got it about a week ago. But I’m getting off it because I now have severe acne and weight gain. Not to mention, mood swings, constant UTIs, weight gain, bloating, and indigestion."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control almost 6 months ago. I'm switching next week, I can't take it anymore! I have experienced about 15 lbs in weight gain, I have horrible mood swings the week before my period and terrible cramping. I get very sensitive for about the first hour after taking the pill. My periods were shortened, usually 3 days max... until last week, I was spotting for about 2 weeks. The only positive, my skin cleared up, but broke out faithfully during period week. I would highly NOT recommend."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this medication for nearly two weeks. I've become an emotional mess when I'm usually laid-back and down to earth. I remember taking Sprintec around five months ago, and I don't remember feeling this way. The nurse said it was the same as Sprintec, just a generic brand. I've become increasingly paranoid, anxious, irate, and I've been having really dark thoughts. I don't even feel like talking to my significant other anymore. The only good thing is that it prevents pregnancy. Everyone's experience is different, but mine has been far from good."

For Birth Control "I have been suffering from terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depression for a few months now and couldn’t figure out for the life of me what was wrong. It came on very suddenly. I am incredibly paranoid, anxious, irritable, sad most of the time, and just feel empty and not like myself at all! After reading these reviews, I now know why. Additionally, I had near-perfect skin before I started this BC, now I experience painful cystic acne and have nasty breakouts all over my face. My hair falls out in clumps. And I still get bad cramping before my period, which I thought this was supposed to help with. Getting rid of this immediately and trying something different. Only giving a 2 because I didn’t get pregnant, but my sex drive went down to below zero on this pill, so I guess that isn’t saying much anyways!!!!"

For Birth Control "Started taking this medication a month ago, and I can say I hate it. The pharmacy switched my birth control brand to this from Monenessa. I was confused why I was put on this until the pharmacist told me that day insurance switched brands. Within the first month of taking this brand, I broke out in hives. Every time I take it on an empty stomach or full stomach, I feel nauseous, like I'm going to throw up. And it's also changed my mood swings. I would not recommend this pill for anyone, not to mention I broke out in acne as well. The brand I was on before worked wonderfully, and I want to go back ASAP. On a lighter note, this medication did make my menstrual cramps a whole lot lighter, and I'm not as heavy with bleeding. I still want to go back to my old brand."

For Birth Control "I loved this pill for the first 3 months. It cleared up my skin, made my periods much lighter and pain-free, and kept me protected. The only major problem I had was that after the 3rd month until my 5th month taking it, I fell more and more into depression. It was horrible. My extreme mood swings were ruining my life and ruining my relationship. I had to finally stop this pill and switch to something else before my condition became so bad that I was going to start being on antidepressants."

"I was on Mononessa for about 6 months for my PCOS until my pharmacy suddenly handed me this pack. I read online they had the same doses, so I didn’t mind about the change. Ever since I’ve been on Estarylla, I’ve been getting TERRIBLE nausea and headaches about one week before my period, and the nausea persists until my period ends. This month I had those two symptoms with dizziness added. I have also been having terrible mood swings, and I’ve been really irritated about small things. I will call my pharmacy in hopes to get Mononessa again because even though they have the same active ingredients in equal doses, they are NOT the same for my body."

For Birth Control "Do not use this birth control. Take it from one girlfriend to another - you can do better. This birth control has given me the worst experience I've ever had with mood swings. Sluggish and no energy. I gained 5 lbs. the first week on it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this birth control for 1 month now, and it’s true! It has made me very emotional. I’m already sensitive, but now I’m just overly emotional. I cry, I get upset, I overthink everything. One morning I was crying for no reason, and my Gma was like, oh, get off that birth control, but I’m going to give it 1 more month and see how I feel. Overall, I’m not pregnant, so it works. I’ll update you guys. Good luck."

For Birth Control "I was on Mononessa for years (after a bad reaction to Sprintec), then Walgreens switched to Estarylla. I was nervous to start this new pack after reading these reviews, and I have experienced some bad side effects since taking it. I’ve had a constant headache for 10 days straight, and I’ve never experienced that before. I never get migraines, and I drink too much water for it to be dehydration. I also have no interest in anything I used to, and I have zero energy. Most of my days now are spent sleeping or laying in my bed. Since starting week two, I’ve started noticing some mood swings, like getting angry and crying for no reason. I am not myself on this pill, and if nothing has changed for the better as soon as the month is up, I’m done because I can’t take this anymore. The only good thing was that it seems like I’ve lost a little weight, and my breasts aren’t as huge as they were on Mononessa. I take the pill for irregular periods, and so far, it's done its job."

For Birth Control "I have only been on Estarylla for 2 weeks now. I was on another birth control pill for a very long time, it was the generic brand of YAZ (they stopped making my original birth control, can't remember the name). Anyway, I couldn't be on that birth control pill that I was on anymore, so I switched to Estarylla, and I got my period 4 days earlier, which I thought, okay, wasn't a big deal until my period was EXTREMELY HEAVY, really bad cramps, and mood swings, in just 2 weeks from being on this pill. Don't get me wrong, everybody is different, and pills will react differently to each person, but seeing all the bad/same reviews on this pill, I would not recommend it."

For Birth Control "I stopped taking Estarylla a few months ago after being on it for almost two years. This was my first birth control I had ever taken, and after reading these reviews, I was freaked out! At first, I did not notice any major side effects. I had not gained any weight, my acne somewhat cleared up, and my periods were almost non-existent. However, I decided to take a break from it because I had major mood swings and was not my normal self. It is different for everyone, but I will definitely be trying a new birth control."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Honestly, it did its job in regulating my period, but I was a completely different person. I had mood swings, slept for long hours during the day, and was always so drowsy. One of the good things was that it did help with my headaches as well. My acne also got way better, and I never had to worry about cramping and heavy bleeding when I was on my period. I think the hormones really affect one's mood and feelings. Like I said, I didn't like the fact that I slept so much and didn't feel like myself, but I appreciate the good things it did. Weight gain-wise, I'm not sure, I think my appetite got stronger and I gained a few pounds on my own, but I'm starting a new BC (Mili), and I hope the only side effect is mood changes!"

"I have been on Estarylla for about two years now. I’m past having kids and had a tubal 11 years ago but have had horrible anxiety, depression, and PMDD since having the tubal. This birth control combined with Zoloft has taken the edge off of all of my emotional issues and symptoms. It’s not perfect, but I am able to handle situations and life in general without feeling hopeless. This birth control pill has completely regulated my periods, and I no longer have any acne. Honestly, the combo of both my medications has saved my life. It’s just unfortunate that I have to take birth control when I’m not using it for the purpose of preventing pregnancy. Women go through hell."
