For Birth Control "I took Mononessa for years and never had a problem. One month, my pharmacy gave me Estarylla, and I immediately noticed a difference. When I called my doctor to let her know I didn't want the Estarylla and wanted the Mononessa back, like I've always had, they just acted like I didn't know what I was talking about, since it is 'basically the same drug.' Once Mononessa was taken off the market, my doctor started prescribing me Estarylla on the regular. It does what it needs to when it comes to birth control, but the side effects are absolutely awful. I have major nausea, headaches, and depression when taking this birth control. I also found it had heavily decreased my sex drive and has given me severe mood swings. I quit taking the drug for a month or two, and all symptoms went away. I don't think I'll ever take it again after I finish this month."

For Birth Control "I'm so glad I decided to Google this medication and found these reviews. I thought I was going NUTS! My hormones are out of control on this medication. Like others, my pharmacy switched me to Estarylla from Sprintec. I was fine on the Sprintec, but on this stuff - I've had HORRIBLE mood swings, my acne is out of control, spotting, nausea, weight gain, headaches. I thought I was pregnant! I'll be switching as soon as I can."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I've been on this birth control for 4 days, and that is all I'm giving it. My headaches have been so intense I just cry. I sleep so much more, and I'm always hungry. And even better, I started bleeding as soon as I popped the first pill in my mouth, and I'm talking about heavy bleeding, clots! Soaking through pads and tampons within an hour or less. Please, ladies, stay away from this."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I really don't like this pill. I feel sick all the time. Headaches, blurred vision, motion sickness, hot flashes, and depression. My vagina is always dry and itchy. I am so sick to the point of leaving work and lying in bed all day. The weight gain is horrible. I was on it for period control."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Could not say enough bad things about this medicine!!! Abnormal bleeding, oily skin, mood swings, headaches, weight gain, racing heart, shortness of breath, cramping, night sweats, and nausea just from taking this pill for less than a month. Do not understand why anyone is even getting prescribed this pill, especially after reading all the reviews I’ve read on it. Absolutely ridiculous!!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "This is supposed to be my second month on Estarylla, after not taking birth control for over 8 years. I’ve never experienced mood swings (although I’m naturally moody) on any birth control until now. Estarylla has made me so depressed, I constantly had headaches (and I very rarely get headaches), and the bleeding this month was insane. I was passing blood clots the size of my fist and went to the ER because I was so worried. They said everything was fine, and I wasn’t prescribed anything to stop or slow the bleeding... but I know that this isn’t normal. Gonna find a new birth control because Estarylla is not the answer for me. I started taking it because I was having bleeding between periods for a few months, and I wanted to be more regular. This did regulate my cycle, but I’d rather be irregular than have the massive amount of bleeding that I did on my cycle."

For Birth Control "Okay, I was really nervous to take Estarylla because of all the bad reviews, and I normally take Trinessa. Anyway, after I ran out of Trinessa, I decided to put on my big girl jeans and try out Estarylla. If the pill was going to be bad for me, I was going to stop taking it and request another birth control. When I took the first pill, I had a slight headache, but I still went to all my classes. By my third pill, I think I had a little depression, but I couldn't tell if it was the pill or just my college classes being tough on me. Regardless, I still got my work and extracurricular activities done. Currently, I'm on Week 3, and I'm still alive!!! No headache, stomach pains, depression. I'm good. I think you, reader, need to be reminded that our body reacts differently to certain medications. Also, my acne isn't bad either, my face is actually clearing up. Just know every little pill is different. Good luck!"

For Birth Control "Absolutely the worst BC I’ve been on in my 13+ years. I will refuse to accept this when I go in for a refill. This has given me horrible cramps, headache, breast pain and tenderness, mood swings, nausea, and has killed my sex drive. Definitely no way to get pregnant on this if you never want to do anything, so I guess it works in that aspect. STAY AWAY. I wish I would have known before leaving the pharmacy. I can’t wait for this to be over!"

For Birth Control "I started this birth control about a month ago after switching from the generic brand of Yaz (Loryna, I believe), and I am about to finish my last pack. Before taking it, I was a bit hesitant because of the many bad reviews about it. But, after a month of taking it, I am happy to say I haven’t experienced barely any negative side effects. I haven’t felt depressed or anxious, I don’t believe I’ve gained weight (although I don’t have a scale to measure myself), and I haven’t had any headaches, stomach pain, etc. I have noticed a few pimples, but I also have been slacking on my skincare routine lately. All in all, I would suggest giving this birth control a try, and don’t let the bad reviews scare you. Yes, everyone’s body is different, but you don’t know how it will affect you until you try it for yourself."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "The worst BC ever. I have just used it for 3 days, and I have headaches, and I threw up every single day. Do nothing other than sleeping like a log. This medicine was prescribed to control the abnormal bleeding I had, and guess what? I have the bleeding + these extra bonuses. Hate this medicine to death. I am a person with no allergies to anything I know of now. My body is pretty strong, while other people around fall sick, I remain totally unaffected. I will rate this medicine a negative, not even a zero."

For Birth Control "I’ve taken Estarylla for 4 months now, and I’m getting headaches frequently, a metal taste in my mouth that comes and goes, low energy/lethargy pretty much all the time, appetite issues. Even when I’m eating well, I still don’t feel right. The week before my period had come, I had a variety of pregnancy symptoms, and I’ve had symptoms of anxiety and depression on and off. I’m not very thrilled with this birth control, and I’m thinking about either getting off of it or switching to something else."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Estarylla for about 4 months now. Before this, I was taking Sprintec, and it seemed to be working just fine for me. The pharmacy changed the prescription, saying that it was the same birth control with no different side effects. Wrong!!! I am a little bit of an emotional and sensitive person as it is, but this birth control has turned me into the worst emotional wreck that I have ever been!!! I am constantly nauseous with relief very rarely. Headaches come and go, but it’s mostly the nausea, anxiety, and depression. I definitely would not recommend this birth control to any girl who wants to keep their happy spirit alive and kicking. It’s terrible."

For Birth Control "I took Estarylla for roughly 3 weeks. It was miserable. I experienced bad hair loss, limp and lifeless dried-out hair (nothing changed in my hair care but this pill), greasy skin/cystic acne, severe diarrhea, headaches, insomnia, yeast infection, brain fog/forgetfulness, my personality changed to be constantly grouchy/severely depressed/aggressive/full of rage. I was uncomfortably bloated and felt the immense urge to eat everything around me. I was a train wreck. I couldn't even finish the pack, I have to work full-time, and the way it made me feel hindered that from happening. (I missed work several times because of how awful I felt.) It affects everybody differently, so take that into consideration. I have a history of being intolerant to hormonal birth control pills, and I also have a history of anxiety and depression."

For Acne "Now it makes sense. I have had acne and nervousness lately and was asking myself what’s wrong. Why am I feeling so tired for the most part of my life? If I got a headache, drinking water was very much enough to take it away in the past, and then last month I got a migraine that won’t go away, I had to take Tylenol. I kept asking myself what has changed, but guess what, now I know - they changed my birth control from Sprintec to this Estarylla. It is crazy how I feel. I’m calling the pharmacy first thing in the morning. Thanks for everyone who puts down reviews, coz I would have never known what was happening to me."

For Ovarian Cysts "I was very scared to start Estarylla at first because of the reviews, but keep in mind that we’re all different. When I first started, my emotions were all over the place, I wanted to cry and then just felt angry. This then went away after the first week. I also got some headaches and was definitely nauseous throughout my first month. I missed two days and spotted for like a week, I don't know if that’s normal or not. Lastly, my breasts were sore as anything! But overall, I don’t think it was a terrible experience. I still have to see if it did anything to help with my ovarian cysts, even though I still have minor aches on my sides."

For Birth Control "What a horrible medication!!! I started taking this pill after my 2nd baby. I noticed mood swings, but I thought it was just my hormones after having a baby. But it got worse. After a month of being on this pill, I was either angry or sad all the time, very unhappy. I refused to believe that it could be depression, but I started to find myself crying in my room alone, anxious, just not feeling myself. That is not all. I thought I had some kind of stomach virus for a month, and it wasn't going away: nauseous, vomiting, dizziness, and severe headache. It felt like a stroke waiting to happen. Do not take this pill!!!"

For Birth Control "I've only been on this pill for about a week, and every morning I'd wake up with a headache. I caught myself always having an attitude, and when I'm alone, I'd just cry for no reason. I wouldn't take this pill."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Estarylla negatively impacted my life. I had severe side effects such as abnormal vaginal bleeding, severe headaches, loss of coordination, severe mood swings, sharp pains in my abdominal region, and that’s to just name a few. I would not recommend this brand of birth control to anyone. It was horrible. This pill made things just awful."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Despite all of the awful reviews, I’m actually pretty happy with this pill. About 2 years ago, I was on Trinessa Lo, and it was awful. I had headaches so bad I thought my head was going to pop. I was always moody and cried over nothing. I would have a lot of really dark depressed thoughts as well and almost got sent to a mental hospital. This made me so scared to try anything else, but I’m glad I have. In the beginning, for about a week, I did get slight headaches and nausea, but it was nothing unbearable. I’m currently on my first month and just started the placebo pills, and all side effects are gone. The only issue is my period hasn’t appeared, but I heard that’s typically normal in the first three months as your body is adjusting. But overall, I’m happy with this pill."

For Birth Control "Recently, I was switched to Estarylla from Sprintec because my pharmacy decided to stop carrying it. The first 3 days were fine - headache-free too. By the next week, I was feeling anxious and really exhausted even when I was sleeping fine. Kind of like a mental fog deal. I usually take my pill before work, so tonight I took it with a bowl of Bran cereal - packed with B vitamins, and I felt like my usual self. No anxiety or heart racing - I also cut out caffeine and any headache meds with caffeine included. I also felt anxious and not myself on other pills too, so I changed my diet to stuff that was high in B and E vitamins and started taking a multivitamin - it seems to really help with depression and the anxious feeling that comes with taking BC. I’m going to stay on this for a bit and hope for the best, but just remember all BC pills have side effects. Estarylla isn’t the best, but it certainly isn’t the worst..."

"Was originally on Sprintec, but my pharmacy gave me this Estarylla generic one, and now in the first week, I’ve had headaches every day, increased appetite, and increased anxiety. I couldn’t understand why I was having such bad anxiety until realizing other people have noticed a difference. I suffer from anxiety to begin with, but Estarylla noticeably increased it. Not happy. Will never take this one again."

For Birth Control "I was taking Loryna for about 2 years with no issues. My doctor decided to switch me to Estarylla, and this has been the worst experience of my adult life. I immediately felt terrible after taking the Estarylla. I said that I would give it a few days for my body to start adjusting, but a month later my body did not adjust. I felt as if I was losing control of my life daily because of this medicine. My doctor thought it was a good switch, but because I know my body, I knew something was wrong. I tried taking it with and without food to see if that would make a difference. I also tried changing the time of day to see if that would help. I still felt TERRIBLE! I was bloated, had nausea, and had the worst case of the jitters daily. I could barely finish a meal without feeling gassy and bloated. I was getting headaches daily, and not to mention the fatigue and heavy breakthrough bleeding that I never had with Loryna. This has got to be the worst birth control pill on the market."

For Birth Control "I have been on Estarylla birth control since January when my doctor switched me to a less hormone pill due to some issues I was having with my previous birth control. I have been experiencing headaches, fatigue, weight gain, and depression. Then on Feb 26, 2019, I found out I was pregnant - yes, I got pregnant on Estarylla. I do not like this pill and the way it made me feel. I am usually pretty happy, and this pill has changed me in multiple ways."

For Birth Control "I switched my pharmacy. But I was taking the higher version, I guess, which is Tri-Sprintec, for a year. I never had a single issue with it, I might've gained 5 unnoticeable pounds. But when I changed to CVS, they gave me this. It is my second month, and I have only had my period on the active pills. I got my period 2 1/2 weeks ago on active pills. I took my sugar pills, then this week, I got my period again. My skin's broken out, I gained 10 lbs. I work with little kids, so I thought I was getting sick from them, but I've had headaches and stomachaches almost constantly. The reviews made me realize it's the birth control. It's seriously the worst experience I've had with medication."

For Acne "From someone who is new to birth control - I tried Yaz and legit almost had a meltdown. I was super depressed and gained weight. Estarylla SAVED me - there is more ethinyl estradiol and a different progestin (norgestimate). I feel like my normal self. My skin is GLOWING. I didn’t gain a pound, I’m actually losing weight. And I don’t have any headaches or nausea. I’m starting my 4th month now! It really is true that different birth controls work for different bodies. My body has always been extra messed up and extremely sensitive and odd. For some reason, this pill, that everyone else hates, has been my savior!!! Anyone with cystic acne, PCOS, and oily skin might wanna give this a shot. Don’t immediately rule it out."
