For Birth Control "I have been on 3 different birth control pills in the past with 0 side effects from any of them. I trusted CVS when they switched my brand again to this one and didn't look up any reviews until now. After taking it for almost 2 weeks, I have been extremely emotional and depressed. I've never had issues with depression before, but this pill made me an emotional wreck. Every moment has been spent fighting back tears. I've also never had problems with my skin (maybe 1 pimple every month), and I now have 4 pimples on my face and some on my body and back. This birth control is the worst pill I have ever taken. Every person is obviously different in how they react, but it's not worth the risk!!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time on birth control, and it’s been only 3 months on Estarylla, and I haven’t had any bad symptoms other than terrible, terrible, !TERRIBLE! mood swings. I seriously feel bipolar 90% of the time. It is awful. I will be switching to Nexplanon at the end of this pack."

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for about 6 months. For birth control, it's been good. I like that if I can't take it at the exact same time every day, it's still effective if I take it several hours later. My symptoms included some bad mood swings for the first few months, but that's all. I learned to manage them. No weight gain, no acne, no pains. I think as long as you don't typically have problems with taking other medications, this one will work for you."

For Birth Control "I had a horrible experience on this birth control. After reading the reviews, I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't research it before I started taking it. I took the pill for 2 months and experienced severe mood swings, nausea/vomiting, headaches, and spotting. It was a dark brown color, and I stopped taking the pill after that experience and because of the mood swings. I would also cry constantly, I initially thought it was due to stress, but since I stopped taking it, I haven't cried once. I haven't been taking the pill for two weeks, and I have NOT experienced the above side effects. I know everyone's body is different, and after showing my boyfriend these reviews, we both are happy that I'm not the only one who experienced these side effects."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have an irregular menstrual cycle, and I went almost 5 months without having my period, so I went to seek medical help. Soon after that, my Gyn recommended I take Estarylla BC pills. On the first week, I had mild nausea (which is normal if you are a first-time BC user). I also had a lot of acne, and within that first week, my face cleared out perfectly. On my second week, nausea was non-existent, and my acne wasn't there at all. I also had a few mood swings, but nothing too crazy. By the third week, I started to notice my acne coming out only on my chin area (which is where I normally would get it when I would start my period). It was there for about 3-4 days until I finally got my period on the 14!! Lucky me. As soon as I got my period, I experienced a really heavy flow, but it's totally understandable since I haven't had it for 5 months. Right now, I am still on my period and just officially finished my first month, and I have no acne at all. Everyone's body reacts differently, don't be scared to give it a try."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I am a 40-something woman and started this med to control bleeding. It made me nauseous for the first week, then I was fine. My poor husband. Between the 15-pound weight gain and the mood swings, I have been quite unhappy! I agree with the other statements that it makes you very depressed. I struggle with depression, and this made it a lot worse. I would rather go back to bleeding every two weeks than deal with this crap! Starting on something different next week. Thank you to everyone who also replied. I don't feel like it is just me. It is definitely the medicine! So long, Estarylla!!"

For Birth Control "I was switched to Estarylla from Mononessa due to Walgreens, as well as everyone else, it seems. I was on Mononessa for 9 years with absolutely no problems and loved it. Being on Estarylla, my period has become completely irregular, I never know when I’m going to get my actual period because I basically have it the entire month. I never get a break from spotting. There was a change in my mood, I’m extremely unhappy and withdrawn from everyone. I suffer from depression, but this is unlike anything I’ve ever felt. I also noticed weight gain and breakouts, which neither are normal for me. This has been such a bad experience for me, I finally asked them to change it to a different generic, and they are giving me Sprintec for next month. I hope it works better for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking this to prevent pregnancy, and so far, it has been awful. Although I'm not pregnant, it has given me EXTREME mood swings. One minute I'm fine, and the next I'm crying my eyes out for no reason, and I get irritated very easily. I was on my period for nearly 2 1/2 weeks when I first started it. My sex drive has increased a significant amount. I used to have sex maybe twice a week with my boyfriend, but when I got on the birth control, I was constantly wanting to have sex. My acne has decreased slightly, not much. My boobs have not grown at all. I have experienced a huge amount of weight gain-15 pounds in a month. It's honestly been so awful taking this pill. The only good thing is I'm not pregnant."

For Birth Control "First week, I wanted to quit right then, but I gave it time. I literally must've become someone else, with only glimpses of me throughout the whole 6 months I took this. I am a really happy, energetic, outgoing person. All of that changed. My boyfriend of 3 years started noticing changes in my mood and behaviors. The smallest thing would make me so aggravated, which could slip into a fit of rage. I had less and less of a sex drive. You don't feel like you're different. It would only be after the fact that I saw how dramatic I was being, but then it became like a depression that I WASN'T EVEN AWARE OF! I also got a digestive issue during my time on this pill. I was losing my mind, sad, angry, frustrated all the time. Numb a bit to emotions, but would cry at small stuff. I felt like I was falling apart. My face didn't clear up much, and that was the ONLY REAL REASON I WAS TAKING THIS stuff. I know my body is happy about not taking this pill anymore. My whole body is taking a sigh of relief. DON'T INGEST THIS POISON."

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for about 9 months before I was switched to Estarylla, and I noticed the change almost immediately. I developed anxiety, lost my ability to concentrate, have frequent mood swings, go in and out of depressive episodes, and my mental state near my period is so overwhelmed that I feel like I'm a different person. My friends and family have noticed the change to a point where they think I don't seem like myself anymore. On Sprintec, my whole face was clear, and my skin glowed. On Estarylla, my skin glows (with oil), and I get hormonal breakouts on my chin that I never had with Sprintec. I know Estarylla is the 'chemical equivalent,' but there must be a difference in the two because Estarylla has deteriorated my mental health in a way no birth control ever has before. Everybody is different, and for some people, Estarylla may be great! But if you are on Sprintec and love it, if your pharmacist or doctor gives you Estarylla instead, DO NOT TAKE IT."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have only been on this birth control for about 3 to 4 months. Prior to starting this, I had at least 2 weeks out of each month feeling sick, crying, severe depression, cramps that would keep me up all night, headaches, no energy-you name it. Since I've been on the pill, most of my symptoms have lightened up, and my PMS starts a few days before my period, not a week or more ahead. I will say this month I have been more emotional, but this is the first time I've noticed my flow being lighter. At my last check-up, I was told my symptoms would improve more the longer I've been on it, so fingers crossed it continues to get better each month!"

For Birth Control "Never in my life have I been depressed or had anxiety or any type of mental health problems until I started this pill. It didn’t happen right away, but it slowly crept up on me, and I always had mood swings, and I would cry over the smallest things. I felt very unmotivated and just like I was always sad. I knew that the way I was feeling had to be because of this pill since I had never felt like this in my entire life. Honestly, it’s not worth it at all, I do not recommend this pill for anyone. Please prioritize your mental health!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Estarylla for about 3-4 months. I have tried to give my body time to adjust to this pill, but I really am not a fan. I have horrible mood swings, worsening anxiety and depression, spotting, cramps, bloating, and nausea after taking the pill - sometimes to the point where I throw up. The only 'pro' is that I'm not pregnant. Can't wait to get off this medication."

For Birth Control "I have only been on Estarylla for a month, and I am having nothing but issues. I go to the gym regularly and eat a healthy diet, and I have done nothing but gain weight. I feel swollen and bloated constantly, and I have headaches almost every day. It was given to me as the generic for Sprintec (which was amazing), and I can't believe how different they are. I am emotional and on edge all of the time. I don't even want to know what my period will feel like if this is what I am going through already. I don't know why anyone would want to put themselves through this even for just a birth control. I do not recommend Estarylla at all."

For Birth Control "First time taking Estarylla, and it is not good. I started taking birth control to help with my cramping I get in my thighs only. I'm not sexually active, no kids. First day of taking the pill yesterday, it helped my mood swings but brought on the cramping and made it worse. Very intense pain. Will probably go to the doctor to switch if it doesn't get better. Worst first-time birth control using experience."

For Birth Control "I see a lot of negative comments, and of course, everyone has a different experience. This is my first time on this brand, and I'm in my second month. I started taking birth control for heavy periods and terrible cramps. My last period was so much better! I see a lot had emotional issues with this brand, and I started Zoloft at the same time and have not had any issues!"

For Birth Control "I am pleased with Estarylla and how it works. I still get hip and a little breast pain, but it's not too terrible. On the last three days of the pills, though, I get heavy bleeding and clots in the toilet. I am a bit emotional, but that is probably because I am almost 49 y/o and should be starting menopause. My low-dose pills made me bleed worse than the elevator in 'The Shining,' and I was leaving trails of blood like the O.J. Simpson crime scene. I just don't like how heavy my flow is while I take the placebo pills and look forward to taking my BC again."

For Birth Control "I started taking Estarylla in November 2018, and at first, hated the brand. I had skin rashes, migraines, and felt depressed to a point where I had no motivation to do anything. Unfortunately, my skin broke out worse than it ever has due to this birth control. The headaches lasted for only a couple of weeks, but I still felt emotional until recently. I was planning on getting off of the birth control because of how bad I felt, but am glad I pushed through. On the plus side, my breasts grew quickly after taking the pill, and I’ve been fully protected without other contraceptives. I’m towards the end of my third month taking Estarylla, and there are no more side effects, and I am feeling like myself again. Everyone reacts differently to this brand, but it’s not the worst out there."

"First, I know everyone reacts differently to birth control. When I first started BC, I had migraines so bad, but soon they went away, as well as had bad acne, and that cleared as well. I switched to Estarylla from Sprintec. I’m currently in my 3rd week of the pill and have had weird mood swings, stomach bloating, and cramping (while I’m not on my period), and have had no appetite, but when I do eat, I feel nauseous. I’m hoping that I have the symptoms now, but like my acne and migraine on Sprintec, they go away after the first month. Everyone reacts their own way. I have a sensitive tummy, so I make sure to take my pill in the evening and to eat with it. I’ve also come to the conclusion that while on this pill, to drink LOTS of water because I feel drained of energy all the time, and the water seems to help."

For Birth Control "Okay, so to begin, I just had a miscarriage recently and was prescribed this right after and told to begin taking it on the first day of my normal cycle. I read up on it beforehand and saw awful reviews but still decided to give it a try. Worst mistake of my life. I've been on Estarylla for a week, and I've never had such awful migraines or been so cranky and irritable in my entire life. It's also messed with my appetite, and by that I mean I haven't been hungry in 3 days. This is just my experience. But I was willing to give it a go, my first week in, and all I can say positively is I'm not pregnant."

"This BC gave me an adrenal deficiency, causing mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, anxiety, depression, inability to fall asleep, inability to wake up in the morning, and severe fatigue. I have been on this for almost two months now, and prior to use, I went to the gym every day, had lots of energy, and no anxiety. For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 6 months, my face is nice and clear, but that's it. I get anxiety and feel worried all the time and can never be truly happy or enjoy anything. I get shortness of breath just sitting down. There are times I feel like I will be having a heart attack, and I am only 25 and healthy. It makes me so emotional at times, I just want to cry out of nowhere. For sure, it is great at birth control, but my sex drive is gone, with dryness and at times discomfort. For Birth Control "Absolutely do not recommend! I have had the worst mood swings of all time! I get so agitated when there is nothing wrong. Things that usually wouldn’t bother me make me either furious or extremely sad. It was so hard trying to manage these emotions during my daughter’s birthday. Also, and equally as bad, this has given me horrible, horrible hives all over my face. I can’t quite tell yet if this is acne or an allergic reaction, but it’s ruined my skin. I’ve been pulling my hair out for days trying to figure out why my skin is so itchy/scaly/rashy/bumpy - I mean bumps are EVERYWHERE! Then it clicked to me tonight - this is the only thing new I’ve used. My skin was so clear, and I am distraught trying to imagine how long it will take to look okay again. And it also darkens the skin. Makes your skin look old and worn. Blemishes turn into big dark patches. It’s embarrassing and depressing. Be warned! It’s not worth it when there are other options. I want my Trinessa Lo again!"

For Birth Control "I got put on this birth control because they stopped making Mononessa, and so I decided to Google it and read the reviews for it, and let me just say these reviews scared me!! I was so hesitant to take Estarylla. The first week I took the pill, I was overly emotional, crying at everything. That soon passed, and the second week on this pill, my boobs were so sore and got so much bigger!! I woke up feeling like I had bricks on my chest!! But now, I have been taking this pill for 3 months, and both of those symptoms have passed, and I love this pill!!! Mononessa used to make me feel nauseous if I did not eat dinner when taking my pill, but this pill has never made me feel sick. I get my periods like clockwork and actually prefer this pill over Mononessa. I have had no breakouts either, my skin is actually the clearest it has been! I also have not gained any weight. I recommend taking this pill and trying it for yourself, because everyone is different."
